Swansea plotting move for Kyogo Furuhashi with Birmingham now willing to sell
Swansea City are now plotting a move for a “special” striker, who is represented by the same agency as Ethan Galbraith.
Swansea eyeing another forward after Nunes
The Swans recently confirmed the signing of winger Gustavo Nunes, with the Brazilian joining on loan from Brentford for the remainder of the campaign, and Vitor Matos has suggested more signings could be through the door prior to the February 2nd deadline.
The manager said: “It is just one month of a window, everything happens too fast, everything can change in one moment.
“What we try as a club is to find the really good deals, the best ones we can have with the conditions that we have.
“The most important thing is that we set up already the profile and what we really need. If that then becomes an opportunity on the market, we will go for that. And if not, we are fine because I’m really happy with the squad.”
Matos’ side remain firmly in mid-table, following the 2-1 defeat against Hull City, so the Jacks may need to inject some fresh quality into the squad this month, and they have now set out to sign another new forward.
That is according to a report from Football Insider, Swansea City are now plotting a move for Birmingham striker Kyogo Furuhashi, as they remain keen on bolstering their attacking options before the end of the current window.
There are indications that a deal could be possible too, with the Swans’ Championship rivals willing to listen to offers for the Japanese forward, who only arrived at St. Andrew’s from Celtic in the summer.
As Kyogo only has one goal to his name in the second tier, the Blues are willing to sanction a departure, but the former Celtic man could be a solid addition to Matos’ squad, if he is able to rediscover his previous form.

“Special” Kyogo could be exciting signing for Swansea
Although the 31-year-old’s move to Birmingham hasn’t gone to plan, he was regularly amongst the goals during his time at Celtic, winning four Scottish Premiership titles at Parkhead.

In fact, the 23-time Japan international has 159 career goals to his name for club and country, which indicates he could have the ability to flourish at the Swansea.com Stadium, should he be able to get out of his current rut.
Lauded as “special” by former teammate Callum McGregor, Kyogo, who is represented by the same agent as Galbraith, could be an exciting signing for Swansea, but it would be a risk to make a move, given that he hasn’t exactly made a flying start to life in the Championship.
