10 Best TV Drama Finales of the Last 10 Years, Ranked
The following article contains spoilers.Ending a television show comes with a tremendous amount of expectation because loyal viewers want to ensure that their time has been rewarded. While a comedy show may only have situational scenarios in which the narrative development doesn’t lead towards a dramatic finale, drama shows can be judged based on whether they are perceived to have a satisfying finale. There’s no better example of this than Game of Thrones; although it was once considered to be one of the best drama shows of all time, it now has a more mixed legacy as a result of its terrible last episode.
The pressure to be successful has grown stronger in the last decade because of the obsessive relationships viewers have with their favorite shows within the streaming era. Here are the best drama television finales of the last ten years, ranked.
10
“Prisoners of War” (Season 8, Episode 12)
‘Homeland’ (2011–2020)
Homeland was an uneven series that managed to pull off a great finale with “Prisoners of War” because it ended in a realistic way. It was never possible for Carrie (Claire Danes) to completely escape from her responsibilities to protect the United States from terrorist threats, but “Prisoners of War” at least put a solid finish to her relationship with Saul (Many Patinkin), a character who was her ally, mentor, and occasionally adversary.
“Prisoners of War” was a cleverly named title because it’s shared with the original Israeli television series that inspired Homeland. Although “Prisoners of War” indicated that one chapter of Carrie’s story had come to an end, there’s always the possibility that the series could have a revival, especially given that it has seen a surge in popularity after being made to stream on Netflix, which resulted in a significant uptick in viewership.
9
“Lock and Key” (Season 6, Episode 6)
‘Peaky Blinders’ (2013–2022)
Peaky Blinders is one of the most satisfying British crime dramas because it was a rare show that seemed to get better with each season. While it began as an underrated BBC series with a niche viewership, Peaky Blinders became a phenomenon when it became available internationally on Netflix, and managed to make an icon out of Cillian Murphy’s Thomas Shelby.
Peaky Blinders ended perfectly with “Lock and Key” because it resolved the succession of the Shelby family and provided a satisfying end to each of the characters, including a clever last-minute twist involving Thomas’ destiny. While it was as great a conclusion as any loyal fan of the show could have asked for, it’s not the ultimate ending, as Murphy and most of the original cast are returning for the spinoff film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man on Netflix.
8
“Jedha, Kyber, Erso” (Season 2, Episode 12)
‘Andor’ (2022–2025)
Andor is the best piece of Star Wars storytelling since Return of the Jedi, and the series ended on a perfect note that beautifully set up the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in which Cassian (Diego Luna) sacrifices himself to ensure that the Rebel Alliance gains access to the Death Star plans. While grounded within the mythology of Star Wars, Andor was praised for its timely parallels to real-world politics.
Andor ended on the appropriately bittersweet note, as it was always going to be somewhat depressing that Cassian would not live to see the Empire fall to its knees. However, the twist that Bix (Adria Arjona) was pregnant with his child was an emotional way to signify that his heritage of heroism would continue well into the future, and that the name “Andor” would be remembered throughout galactic history.
7
“Green Queen” (Season 1, Episode 10)
‘The Curse’ (2023–2024)
The Curse is one of the weirdest shows of all time because it combined the awkward, psychologically unnerving black comedy of Nathan Fielder with the relentless thrills of Benny Safdie. Although The Curse was a series that hinted at supernatural elements as a conflict that emerged between the white characters and the people of color whom they try to “save,” the finale, “Green Queen,” takes a surprising twist by including something completely fantastical.
The Curse’s ability to take a hard slant into the inexplicable was a daring choice that resulted in an ending that left viewers scratching their heads in a way television hadn’t seen since the ending of The Sopranos. Perhaps the greatest surprise is that Fielder, a comedian at heart, was capable of giving a profound, dramatic performance and proved himself worthy of sharing the screen with Emma Stone.
6
“The Book of Nora” (Season 3, Episode 8)
‘The Leftovers’ (2014–2017)
The Leftovers is the best show that Damon Lindelof has ever written, and in many ways makes up for some of the mistakes that were made on Lost regarding plot contrivances. The Leftovers may have started as an HBO show that was almost too bleak for its own good, but it evolved into a surprisingly thoughtful, moving expose on the way that people respond to the unexplained facets of life.
The Leftovers dropped any semblance of spectacle in its finale by reverting to focus singularly on the relationship between Nora (Carrie Coon) and Kevin (Justin Theroux), whose romance had been the guiding light of the series. Whether the story that is told within the final monologue should be believed is a debate that fans of The Leftovers still have, which is only further proof that the finale has a lasting power.
5
“START” (Season 6, Episode 10)
‘The Americans’ (2013–2018)
The Americans is one of the best contemporary dramas because it was both a thrilling espionage series and a thoughtful examination of the burdens placed upon a family. Although there was a threat hanging over Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell) from the beginning that suggested they would eventually have to choose between their loyalties to the Soviet Union and their new home in the United States, “START” forced them to confront this question in the most dramatic way possible.
“START” managed to finally pay off the storyline involving the character Stan, played by Noah Emmerich, in a remarkable performance. It’s even more impressive in retrospect to consider how authentically The Americans was as a depiction of what married life is like, especially since Rhys and Russell became married in real life after forming a bond while shooting the series together.
4
“Hello, Elliot” (Season 4, Episode 13)
‘Mr. Robot’ (2015–2019)
Mr. Robot didn’t have the finale that fans of Sam Esmail’s brilliant hacking drama expected because it didn’t center on a major showdown between Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) and Whiterose (BD Wong), who has commanded the cyberterrorist organization Dark Army. Instead, the “Hello, Elliot” unpacked how Elliot’s various personalities had been born out of his desire to escape childhood trauma, and brought a satisfying conclusion to his relationship with Mr. Robot (Christian Slater).
Mr. Robot is a perfect example of why planning out a show in advance is a good thing, as Esmail knew exactly how Elliot’s story would end from the moment he began working on it, meaning that all the foreshadowing within the previous seasons paid off perfectly in “Hello, Elliot.” It also featured a staggering performance by Malek, who was able to unpack new layers to Elliot after shocking truths were revealed throughout the fourth and greatest season of the series.
3
“Saul Gone” (Season 6, Episode 13)
‘Better Call Saul’ (2015–2022)
Better Call Saul ended with a finale that was perfect and seemed to confirm that it was a masterpiece worthy of Breaking Bad, the series in which Bob Odenkirk had first debuted the character of Jimmy McGill, also known as “Saul Goodman.”
Better Call Saul had used a split narrative device since its beginning to show the events that lead Jimmy down a path of corruption and crime, as well as what his life looked like in the aftermath of the Breaking Bad finale, “Felina.” “Saul Gone” not only completed flashing back to the events of Breaking Bad and showing them from Saul’s perspective, but finally forced him to face the consequences of his actions; like Walter White (Bryan Cranston) before him, Saul became a narcissistic anti-hero who was incapable of being redeemed because of his unwillingness to show any change.
2
“Part 18” (Season 3, Episode 18)
‘Twin Peaks: The Return’ (2017)
Twin Peaks had a rocky road to its finale because David Lynch’s brilliant crime mystery was initially canceled by ABC in 1991, only for him to revive it in 2017 with a third and final season. Twin Peaks: The Return had trapped Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) in the body of the childish character for the majority of its eighteen episodes, but the ending saw him finally returning in an attempt to save Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) in the past before the murder that set up the show.
“Part 18” is among the bleakest hours of television ever aired because Cooper sees the misguided notion of trying to change the past, which inevitably leads Laura to suffer even more. It’s not only a perfect ending to Twin Peaks, but a poignant ending to Lynch’s work as an artist, as he did not direct any other movies or shows before his tragic passing in 2025.
1
“With Open Eyes” (Season 4, Episode 10)
‘Succession’ (2018–2023)
Succession ended in the only way it possibly could by finally facing Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook), and Roman (Kieran Culkin) with the consequences of aspiring to fulfill the legacy of their late father, Logan (Brian Cox). Although the question of who would take control of Waystar RoyCo had been debated throughout the entire show, “With Open Eyes” made a cruel twist; Shiv’s spurned husband, Tom (Matthew Macfadyen), would be placed as the new CEO, even though he had sold out the company to the invasive investor Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard).
Succession ended on a Shakespearean note that confirmed the tragic fates that each of the characters was doomed to after failing to come together to save the company. Nicholas Britell’s score has always been brilliant, but the musical cues he used within the final moments of “With Open Eyes” may be his greatest contribution to the show.

RHOC’s Vicki Gunvalson Is ‘Safe’ Amid Violence in Mexico: ‘Sending Love’
The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Vicki Gunvalson is assuring her followers that she’s “safe” after violence erupted in Mexico.
“Hi everyone,” Gunvalson, 63, began her Instagram Story on Sunday, February 22, alongside a white heart emoji. “I’m safe and not in Puerto Vallarta. Thank you so much for all the messages and concern. It truly means a lot.”
Gunvalson continued, “Please join me in keeping everyone affected in your prayers. Sending love and heartfelt thoughts to all who need them right now.”
News broke on Sunday that Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, the leader of the deadly Jalisco New Generation drug cartel, was killed during a Mexican military operation. The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Mexico shared on Sunday that citizens in several locations — including Puerto Vallarta — “should shelter in place until further notice” due to “ongoing security operations and related road blockages and criminal activity.” Several flights in and out of the country have been canceled.
Gunvalson, meanwhile, shared in 2020 that she purchased a condo in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
“Well I did it! After spending over 30 years in one of my favorite places in the world, I closed on my vacation/retirement house today,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “Other than being with my children, grandchildren and @stevelodge_oc, it’s one of my happiest and fondest memories and one of my parents favorite destinations.”
Gunvalson appeared to then acknowledge the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I know some of you may think it’s wrong, especially in the state of the world, but for me it immediately gives me hope and peace that things will resume to a new sense of normal soon,” she wrote. “I won’t be visiting there until I’m able, but as of today I own a home that makes me happy. I’m going to be donating all the bedding and most of the furniture to an orphanage, and will be putting to work some painters and a decorator to make this home ‘Vicki.’”
She concluded, “Thank you to all who support my decision as it wasn’t an easy one to go through with it. Those who don’t, keep your mean comments to yourself. #imhappy #puertovallarta #sunsets #kindpeople #peaceful.”
Later that year, Gunvalson shared that she was happy with her decision.
“I took a leap of faith, I ended up closing on a condo last month and I got here last night. And I thought, you know what? This was what was meant to be,” Gunvalson said in the Instagram clip at the time, per People.
She captioned the post, “Although I was apprehensive to go through with it, I have to tell you all it was one of my best decisions.”
In 2022, Gunvalson shared that she purchased another condo in the Mexican city. At the time, Gunvalson uploaded an image of a pool framed by palm trees while another pic showed a view of the ocean with the sunset.
“My realtor just showed me the sunset and views from my newest condo,” she wrote via Instagram. “I’m in escrow now and it will be built & ready in 20 months. #investmentproperty #puertovallarta #loveitthere #bossbabe #realestate.”
Two years later, Gunvalson shared a glimpse of the property via Instagram and wrote, “Back in PV to put the condo back together!! I just love the way it turned out🤍 my home away from home ✨.”

If you’re anything like Us, you’ve probably run into some trouble curling your hair at one point or another. Whether your curls always look better on one side or you struggle to achieve that bombshell-like bounce, Vanessa Hudgens has a hairstyling secret: a fuss-free tool that will take you from hairstyling amateur to a full-on pro.
In a recent Instagram post, the actress showed off a rotating curling iron, which she uses to achieve a flawless ‘do. The Tymo CurlPro Plus Rotating Curling Iron is a total game-changer — or “fail-proof,” as Hudgens said — and shoppers credit the tool with simplifying their styling routines.
Get the Tymo CurlPro Plus Rotating Curling Iron at Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.
No more unevenness or lopsided styles! This automatic curler literally does all the heavy lifting, while also reducing styling time — which is likely another pro for Hudgens, who is now the mom of two. Along with a rotating feature that creates even, symmetrical curls, this device features patented dual heating to preserve shape and longevity. It also includes a temperature-control button, which users can adjust based on their hair type and texture.
While other irons might leave you with burns or complicated knots, the Tymo alternative eliminates these issues. Its 360-degree anti-scalding design and anti-tangle technology ensure your hair’s health isn’t compromised while styling, so you don’t have to worry about panicking mid-routine.
Achieving a head full of even, bouncy curls doesn’t have to be a hassle, especially since you can get the job done in just four steps. First, insert a 1-inch section of hair into the middle slot of the iron, press the rotate button and hold as the curler wraps around the hair. A beep signals the end of the rotation, prompting you to gently release the newly curled piece and let it cool before continuing styling.
Like Hudgens, Amazon shoppers saw worthwhile results after using this curling iron.
“Finally, an automatic curling iron that does exactly what it claims to do,” one fan raved in their five-star review. “This TYMO automatic rotating curling iron is an absolute game-changer.” They added that the “rotating feature works flawlessly and, most importantly, does not tangle your hair. It creates beautiful, smooth curls without any tugging or tangling.”
Another reviewer highlighted some of their favorite features of the curling iron.
“I will admit I was skeptical at first, but it actually works and makes great curls,” the fan wrote. “It works very well with my daughter’s long hair, and it has a feature that backs up the curling iron if the hair jams. It saves so much time and is very easy to get the hang of. It’s also not too heavy.”
Ready to achieve flawless curls without a hassle? This rotating curling iron will give you celebrity-worthy waves and ringlets, helping you achieve a Hudgens-approved look in a hurry.
Get the Tymo CurlPro Plus Rotating Curling Iron for just $80 (originally $90) at Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.

Prince William Admits He Isn’t in a ‘Calm State’ After Andrew’s Arrest
Prince William is sharing some insight into his current mindset just days after uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested for alleged misconduct.
While walking the red carpet at the 2026 British Academy Film Awards on Sunday, February 22, William, 43, explained that he hadn’t watched Hamnet because he needed to be in a calm mood to view it, according to the Daily Mail.
“I need to be in quite a calm state and I am not at the moment. I will save it,” William reportedly said at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London, attending the event alongside his wife, Princess Kate Middleton.
William shared that Kate, 44, watched the film one night prior and had “floods of tears,” according to the outlet. Kate joked that watching Hamnet wasn’t the best idea before attending the BAFTAs for the first time in two years.
“I thought it was a bad idea, actually. Ended up with very puffy eyes. It was so beautifully shot. The music as well. The score is fantastic,” Kate shared, adding that she and William have “a long list of films that we still need to get through.”
The couple’s appearance on Sunday comes days after Andrew was arrested for allegedly engaging in illegal misconduct while serving in public office.
“Following a thorough assessment, we have now opened an investigation into this allegation of misconduct in public office,” Thames Valley Police Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright said in a Thursday, February 19, statement. “It is important that we protect the integrity and objectivity of our investigation as we work with our partners to investigate this alleged offense. We understand the significant public interest in this case, and we will provide updates at the appropriate time.”
The Thames Valley police department told the BBC that authorities were investigating claims that Andrew shared confidential information with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein while serving as a U.K. trade envoy. (Epstein died by suicide in 2019 in jail while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.)
Andrew was released from police custody without hours of his arrest. Us Weekly learned on Thursday that Kate and William did not plan to release a public statement on the arrest, while King Charles III addressed the scandal.
“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” Charles, 77, said, referring to his brother. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation.”
The monarch concluded, “Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”
In October 2025, Andrew was stripped of his titles over resurfaced associations with Epstein. Andrew was previously accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre after they were allegedly set up by an associate of Epstein’s. Andrew denied the allegations and settled with Giuffre, who died in 2025, out of court for an undisclosed amount.
If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org. If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).

Pima County Sheriff Details DNA ‘Challenges’ In Search for Nancy Guthrie
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos is detailing the latest challenge in the ongoing search for Savannah Guthrie’s missing mom, Nancy Guthrie.
“Our lab tells us there’s challenges with it,” Nanos told NBC News correspondent Erin McLaughlin in a new sit-down interview on Friday, February 20, detailing how the DNA found inside Nancy’s home is “mixed.”
According to the law enforcement officer, having “mixed” DNA means the sample contains DNA from more than one person, making it difficult to run through national databases.
“The technology is moving so fast and it’s such a frenzy that they think some of this stuff will resolve itself just in a matter of weeks, months or maybe a year,” Nanos continued.`
Authorities confirmed on February 13 that “DNA other than Nancy Guthrie’s and those in close contact to her” was discovered in her Arizona home.
“Investigators are working to identify who it belongs to,” a statement shared with multiple media outlets read at the time. “We are not disclosing where that DNA was located.”
Nancy was first reported missing on February 1 after the 84-year-old failed to meet up with friends to attend a virtual church service. Authorities have not identified a person of interest or suspect in the matriarch’s ongoing disappearance, though investigators did rule out Savannah, her brother Camron, her sister Annie and their family members as possible suspects.

“Not one single person in the family is a suspect,” Nanos told KOLD 12 News on February 16. “So I am telling everyone, effective today, you guys [media] need to knock it off, quit. People are hurting. They are victims. I am saying they are clear. We have cleared them.”
On February 12, the FBI released an official description of a potential subject in the case after security camera footage showed a masked individual attempting to disable Nancy’s front door camera.
The subject is “a male, approximately 5’9’’ – 5’10’’ tall, with an average build. In [a newly-obtained security] video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack.” Officials confirmed they had received 12,000 tips from the public related to Nancy’s disappearance and were doubling the reward from $50,000 to $100,000 for any information that results in her rescue or recovery.
On Friday, Nanos admitted that the investigation is “not going fast enough.”
“It’s never fast enough for the sheriff,” he said. “I want it like you — come on guys, let’s go, let’s go, let’s find her. But the reality is that I also know that sometimes things take time.”
Despite Nanos admitting that there are “no names” authorities are currently looking into in connection with Nancy’s disappearance, he believes that they’re “getting closer” to finding her and her alleged kidnappers.
“In terms of leads and working and getting out there, I think that [the investigation] is still growing, yeah,” he explained. “I think we’re getting closer to identifying some of the other articles, not just that backpack — like the shoes, the pants, the shirt or jacket.”
When asked if he had a message for Nancy’s family as authorities continue their search, Nanos said: “We’re not quitting. We will find her. Yeah.”

Prince William Admits He ‘Needs To Be A Calm State’ As He Skips ‘Hamnet’ At 2026 BAFTA Awards

The Prince of Wales attended the 2026 BAFTA Awards with his wife, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, where he was asked about the film “Hamnet,” which won Best British Film at the ceremony.
The historical drama explores the grief of William Shakespeare and Agnes Hathaway after the death of their young son.
William, 43, admitted he has yet to watch the film, explaining that he is not currently in the right headspace.
According to the Daily Mail, he said, “I need to be in quite a calm state, and I am not at the moment,” adding that he “will save it.”

Prince William And Kate Middleton Stepped Out in Style, As Ex-Prince Andrew’s Arrest Intensifies Royal Scrutiny

Despite the unfolding controversy within the royal family, the couple presented a polished appearance on the pink carpet.
Kate wore a blush-toned Gucci gown, while William opted for a burgundy velvet evening jacket by Giorgio Armani paired with black trousers. They smiled for photographers as they arrived at the event.
The Wales’ outing came days after Andrew was arrested on February 19, his 66th birthday, on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The former Duke of York was reportedly questioned for 11 hours before being released.
The allegations involve claims that he forwarded confidential trade documents to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Insider Claims The Monarchy May Not Move Forward Until ‘Andrew Goes To Prison’

Investigations could reportedly extend further, with UK authorities potentially seeking warrants to examine electronic devices and offices connected to Andrew, including spaces he occupied at Buckingham Palace.
A royal insider suggested that the situation may not fully settle until legal proceedings conclude, adding that some believe the monarchy may only move forward “if Andrew goes to prison.”
They added: “Truly, things can’t move on until we get a new reign [when Prince William is King], during which we might get a honeymoon period.”

King Charles III Expresses ‘Deepest Concern’ Over Prince Andrew Arrest As Pressure Mounts On Prince William

In response to Andrew’s arrest, King Charles III issued a statement through Buckingham Palace expressing “deepest concern” and emphasizing support for a full and proper investigation by the relevant authorities. William and Kate are understood to back the king’s position.
Earlier this month, the Prince and Princess of Wales also addressed newly released files related to Epstein, stating through a spokesperson that they remain “deeply concerned by the continuing revelations” and that their “thoughts remain focused on the victims.”
However, as developments continue to unfold, the situation is reportedly placing increasing pressure on William in his role as future king.
One longtime acquaintance of the prince suggested that while “William might be the changemaker the country needs, he won’t want it forced on him in this way.”
With growing public scrutiny surrounding the monarchy, expectations for accountability have intensified.
Still, others close to the royal household have urged restraint. One source emphasized that although the allegations surrounding Andrew are serious and troubling, they should not be seen as reflective of the institution as a whole.
According to the source, “one individual’s grave wrongdoing does not define the entire Royal Family, nor does it diminish the countless contributions they have made to our nation.”

Prince William Has Also Distanced Himself From Prince Harry, Royal Insider Claims

Meanwhile, William has reportedly created a greater distance between himself and his brother, Prince Harry, further straining a relationship that has remained fractured for six years.
The claim comes from Paul Burrell, Princess Diana’s former butler and onetime footman to Queen Elizabeth II.
In his new memoir, “The Royal Insider,” Burrell reflects on his decades of service within the royal household and offers his perspective on the brothers’ ongoing divide.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Burrell suggested that the separation between William and Harry is more significant than the public may realize.
According to him, the Prince of Wales’ future role as king requires a different level of caution and control.
“I think William has distanced himself from Harry a lot more than people realize,” Burrell said. “Because William’s path is very different from Harry’s. As he gets nearer and nearer to the throne, which will be in a few years, he has to remain isolated. He has to be in a world that is very tight and protected.”
