10 Most Perfect Movie Musicals Ever Made, Ranked

Published

on

The history of movie musicals is quite fascinating. In the Golden Age of Hollywood, you saw original stories that began to define movies. Then, as Broadway became a grand event, some of the best stage plays were adapted for the screen. Now, we’ve gone through the cycle of screen-to-musical adaptation and back to screen. If there’s one thing that’s not evolved in the genre, it’s that we simply cannot get enough!

We are here to celebrate ten of the most perfect movie musicals of all time. As a theater kid, this is essentially a cruel Sophie’s choice! There are so many brilliant titles that just fell short—Funny Girl, Once, A Star Is Born—but they still have a special place in our hearts. This list will focus on live-action films, sorry, Disney animated-only classics! And it must fulfill the classic ideals of musicals: when you can’t speak, you sing, and when you can’t sing, you dance. Now that the ground rules are out of the way, let the curtain rise on these ten musical masterpieces!

No, no, no, there’s no way Dreamgirls could be left off this list. It might be a controversial selection compared to those it eeked out, but Dreamgirls’ influence on the genre is exceptionally important. Based on the 1981 Broadway show, the drama follows a 1960s Motown-style girl group, “The Dreams,” who rise from obscurity to superstar fame, navigating the high costs of ambition, fame, and internal betrayal. Inspired loosely by Diana Ross and the Supremes, the drama rises when manager Curtis Taylor Jr. (Jamie Foxx) focuses on crossover success and pivots the group’s image, ultimately pushing out lead singer Effie White (Jennifer Hudson) in favor of the more pop-friendly Deena Jones (Beyoncé). A film à clef, the behind-the-scenes-style story has been celebrated beyond one night only. A truly dazzling celebration of music, the passion to become a star, and a visually stunning picture with a wardrobe money can’t buy, Dreamgirls was a film adaptation that arrived at just the right time.

The story is made and broken by the singers’ performance prowess. But there was one powerhouse performance that nearly mirrored the story that propelled a young star to great heights. The casting of Hudson was a tad controversial because, while we knew she had the pipes, she was still considered a reality star. Reality stars in the early 2000s were seen as just that. At yet, Hudson as Effie White couldn’t have been more perfect. She took “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” and made it her own. She essentially made us all forget about Jennifer Holliday’s emotionally perfect original rendition. At the time, to be able to outshine and overshadow Beyoncé was a feat in and of itself. The reality was, though, Beyoncé was rightly cast as the, well, Beyoncé of the group.

‘Mary Poppins’ (1964)

Let’s get it out of the way right now: Mary Poppins is practically perfect in every way! Blending live action wonder with whimsical hand-drawn animation, Mary Poppins became a beloved masterpiece. Based on the character by P.L. Travers, Mary Poppins is the story of a magical, “practically perfect” nanny, played by Julie Andrews, who arrives by wind to care for the neglected Banks children, Jane and Michael (Karen Dotrice and Matthew Garber), in early 20th-century London. Through amazing adventures and stern but loving guidance, Mary Poppins teaches about family, imagination, and finding joy in everyday life. A flawless blend of iconic songs, groundbreaking visual effects, and dazzling world-building, Mary Poppins has become a film that’s united generations, even to this day.

Led by the dynamic duo of Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, the film captured the joy that we may have been seeking. A completely escapist film, Mary Poppins allowed our imaginations to run wild. Thanks to Mary Poppins, we were given the freedom to laugh, dance, and make up our own silly little words. This film continues to resonate because the songs maintain a hold on us. Whether it’s the toe-tapping “Step in Time” or the emotionally triumphant “Fly a Kite,” the Sherman Brothers provided the perfect soundtrack that still hits home. Through humor, heart, and fantasy, Mary Poppins has become a timeless classic. The sequel, Mary Poppins Returns, instilled the same charm we fell for, but as delightful as Emily Blunt was, she was no match for the OG Mary.

‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ (1975)

The Rocky Horror Picture Show - 1975 Image via 20th Century Fox

I’d like, if I may, take you on a strange journey. One of the most influential and important pieces of queer cinema is The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Lifted from the stage to the screen, the Richard O’Brien musical tells the story of two weary travelers, Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick) and Janet Weiss (Susan Sarandon), who become stranded and seek refuge from the rain in a mysterious castle. Inside, Dr. Frank-N-Futter (Tim Curry), a mad scientist and transsexual alien from the planet Transsexual in the galaxy of Transylvania, is throwing a party for his newest creation, Rocky (Peter Hinwood). An homage to science fiction and horror B movies, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is camp to the max. Both a parody and tribute to all things kitsch, the film influenced the genre even 50 years later.

A celebration of individuality and identity, The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s high-energy score and dance-along ability have played a crucial part in musical history. The ultimate cult classic, where else can you join your fellow creatures of the night for a participatory midnight showing? The Rocky Horror Picture Show epitomizes community. Deep within the film, O’Brien, who also plays Riff Raff, is an important theme of queerness. Sure, the terminology we use has certainly evolved since the film debuted, but Dr. Frank-N-Futter’s experience in searching for love while loving their own self still resonates. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a cinematic liberation.

There will forever be a debate regarding the legitimacy of jukebox musicals. As defenders of the trend, from &Juliet to Mamma Mia, jukebox musicals are important to the genre’s tapestry. This is all to say that jukebox musicals’ relevance may be, in part, thanks to Baz Luhrmann’s masterpiece, Moulin Rouge! The beloved romance tells the story of Christian (Ewan McGregor), a writer, and his passionate, forbidden love affair with Satine (Nicole Kidman), the star courtesan of the glamorous yet seedy 1899 Parisian nightclub, the Moulin Rouge. As the lovers struggle to be together, they must face a devastating love triangle with a wealthy Duke (Richard Roxburgh) and a fatal secret that could destroy their love forever. Easily one of the most beloved musicals of love, Moulin Rouge! brings the energy of an opera with the spectacle of a musical, all through Luhrmann’s sensational eye.

Part of his Red Curtain Trilogy, Moulin Rouge! is filled with fervent passion that soars thanks to the tactical song choices. You may moan and groan at certain pigeonholed tracks, but by the time you reach the “Elephant Love Medley,” you’re desperate to find your own lover to recreate such a sensational moment. As Christian poetically sings, “all you need is love!” At the time of release, it seemed the movie musical was all but dead. Then Moulin Rouge! arrived, and the desire for more was reignited. Moulin Rouge! is a work of truth, beauty, freedom, and above all things, love.

‘Cabaret’ (1972)

First, John Van Druten’s play, I Am Camera, took inspiration from Christopher Isherwood’s Goodbye to Berlin. Then, John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Joe Masteroff took the play and gave it the musical treatment under the title Cabaret. Then, Bob Fosse took that, brought it to the big screen, and gave us one of the most iconic movie musicals. Though some characters were adapted to fit the stars, while songs were added and subtracted, the screen adaptation of Cabaret is simply sensational. The musical explores the hedonistic, desperate nightlife of the Kit Kat Klub amidst the rise of the Nazi party. Inside, American cabaret singer Sally Bowles (Liza Minnelli) meets British academic Brian Roberts (Michael York), who, despite his confusion over his sexuality, begins an intimate relationship with her. Then, the arrival of the wealthy playboy Maximilian von Heune (Helmut Griem) complicates matters for them both as their love triangle plays out as war rages on. And then, of course, there’s a Master of Ceremonies (Joel Grey) who links the music and story together. A story of denial under the guise of normality, Cabaret serves as an allegory for the dangers of political apathy and the loss of personal freedom.

The stage and screen versions have some crucial differences that almost make them their own entities. But the film version soars because of Fosse’s vision and the career-defining performance of Minnelli. With Fosse pulling out the nuances of Sally, Minnelli gave a full-body performance. Her defining moment came through “Maybe This Time,” the Kander and Ebb song that became synonymous with the film, and earned its place as the definitive Minnelli track. Blending a gritty wartime melodrama with the dazzling sparkle and safety of the stage, Cabaret’s ability to balance the two worlds without breaking the narrative flow makes it an almost immersive experience. Anxiety is felt through the darker visual tones in the libretto, which melt away when the stage lights shine. There’s a reason why Cabaret won eight Academy Awards. It’s perfectly marvelous.

‘The Wizard of Oz’ (1939)

Thanks to The Wizard of Oz, we learned how beautiful it is somewhere over that rainbow. Based upon the L. Frank Baum‘s novel, The Wizard of Oz is the classic fantasy tale about Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland), a young Kansas girl swept away by a tornado to the magical Land of Oz. Alongside her dog, Toto, she travels the Yellow Brick Road to find the Wizard (Frank Morgan) to help her return home, befriending a Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), Tin Man (Jack Haley), and Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr). A timeless story about friendship and the power of learning your strength lies inside, The Wizard of Oz reminded us that there truly is no place like home.

Providing a visual aesthetic that has become ingrained in pop culture, The Wizard of Oz is one of the most recognizable films ever made. Through its groundbreaking use of Technicolor, The Wizard of Oz’s production design is just as dynamic as the songs by E. Y. Harburg and Harold Arlen. The characters were crafted so strikingly well that they’ve become a part of us. From Dorothy’s journey to the Wicked Witch of the West’s (Margaret Hamilton) revenge, the characters made The Wizard of Oz what it is. Of course, it also elevated the icon that is Garland. One of the greatest performances in cinema history, Garland’s Dorothy became an inspiration for generations. There has never been a film quite like The Wizard of Oz, nor will there ever be.

‘Singin’ in the Rain’ (1952)

There’s no glorious feeling quite like singing in the rain, and we have the classic Hollywood musical to thank. Directed and choreographed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen, the film, set in the 1920s Hollywood, explores the chaotic transition from silent films to “talkies”. It follows Don Lockwood (Kelly), a charming silent star who falls for chorus girl Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds), while navigating his annoying co-star Lina Lamont’s (Jean Hagen) screechy voice and the industry’s shift to sound. From timeless songs to the satirization of celebrity culture and the frantic nature of the movie industry, Singin’ in the Rain is more than just a meta-commentary. The epitome of the classic Hollywood musical, Singin’ in the Rain is a genuine homage to the industry.

For a 50s film to feel so technically flawless speaks to the brilliance of the film and the creatives’ vision. But what sets the film apart from many of its contemporaries is the sensational production numbers. From the choreography to the artistry, there was simply nothing like what was found within this film. We tend to reference the iconic title song, but take a moment and rediscover the sheer brilliance of “Make ‘Em Laugh.” That’s a choreography masterclass in dance. Having an ensemble who were genuine triple treats set the film up for tremendous success. There is enduring pride and joy that will forever be attached to Singin’ in the Rain.

‘The Sound of Music’ (1965)

Perhaps having the most memorable score of any movie musical is The Sound of Music. From top to bottom, there’s not a song that gets skipped. Based on the Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II musical, The Sound of Music follows Maria (Julie Andrews), a young postulant in the 1930s Austria who becomes a governess to the seven children of a widowed naval captain, Georg von Trapp (Christopher Plummer). She brings music and joy back into their lives, falls in love with the Captain, and helps the family escape the Nazis. Another musical that finds some semblance of joy during the world’s darkest time, The Sound of Music’s true story has inspired generations.

With a backdrop of fascism playing an extraordinary role in the film, The Sound of Music’s courageous narrative serves the story. The light and peppy moments are not a moment to shield, but serve as a reminder about how the world around us was inflicting tremendous influence on those with free will and mind. By balancing tonal shifts without comprising storytelling, director Robert Wise masterfully mixes comedy, romance, and high-stakes drama, shifting from lighthearted musical numbers to the dark reality of the Nazi annexation of Austria. With its sweeping cinematography and iconic titular track, very few movie moments have effortlessly captured the spirit of a film quite like this one. There’s a reason why we see it utilized in so many montages. It’s a perfect scene that brings you directly into this world. Of course, filming on location in Salzburg certainly helped the cause! To close out this entry, we simply must give immense credit to Andrews’ perfect performance. Never overtly sentimental, Andrews gives Maria the ultimate journey, becoming the definitive performer to ever take on the part.

‘West Side Story’ (1961)

West Side Story - 1961 (1) Image via United Artists

Inspired by William Shakespeare’s remarkable romantic drama Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story was effortlessly dropped into 1957 New York City for another tragic ending. Based on the musical by Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein, and Arthur Laurents, West Side Story tells the story of the forbidden romance between Tony (Richard Beymer), a former Jet, and Maria (Natalie Wood), a Shark. Their romance is threatened by racial tension and gang violence over territory, ultimately leading to a torturous end. Through prejudice, hate, violence, and the immigrant experience, West Side Story was cinematic realism at its best.

Beautifully brought to life by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins, West Side Story provided some of the most stunning musical moments of all time. Examining the “Dance at the Gym” and “The Rumble,” West Side Story reminded audiences of the power of storytelling through choreography. Through the integration of Robbins’ athletic and balletic numbers, matching the innovative, rhythmic editing that synchronized with camera movement, West Side Story’s groundbreaking approach influenced every movie musical that followed. Though Wood will forever be remembered for her performance, it was Rita Moreno as Anita that stole the show. As we saw with the remake, the part continued to earn its actor awards. Now, to the 2021 version. No shade to Steven Spielberg or the talented cast of the remake, but they’ll never hold a candle to the original.

‘Chicago’ (2002)

Murder, greed, corruption, exploitation, adultery, treachery, and all that jazz! For decades, musical theater fans patiently awaited a big-screen adaptation of the Kander and Ebb musical Chicago. In 2002, they finally received their wish in perfect fashion. Directed by Rob Marshall, the stage-to-screen sensation tells the story of Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones), a nightclub performer, who murders her philandering husband, and Roxie Hart (Renée Zellweger), a housewife who murders her two-timing lover, as they await trial at the Cook County Jail. The duo fights for fame, celebrity, and attention from their flashy lawyer, Billy Flynn (Richard Gere). Showcasing the media circus exploiting the Jazz Age obsession with celebrity and scandal, Chicago is simply a perfect movie musical.

Thanks in part to Marshall’s highly stylized vision, one that has been borrowed in many subsequent films, Chicago’s innovative approach captured the magic of the stage through imagination and dream. Rather than having the characters simply break into song, Marshall infused these fantastical numbers as they came to life in their mind. And each number captured various styles of vaudeville performance. Chicago’s ability to present the numbers in this manner became its shining element, helped only by its top-notch cast. The film was awarded six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and rightly so. Thanks to Chicago’s monumental success, the desire for the movie musical returned, and it’s yet to cease.

Royal Watchers Question Timing Of Prince Harry Leak

Published

on

Prince Harry at Invictus Games

Prince Harry is facing fresh scrutiny after a series of spicy Facebook messages exchanged with journalist Charlotte Griffiths were disclosed in the British High Court.

The messages form part of the Duke of Sussex’s privacy case against Associated Newspapers, which has concluded its trial phase and is currently awaiting judgment.

During the trial, Harry maintained that he had met Griffiths only once and had cut off contact after learning she was a reporter. However, the newly revealed exchanges paint a different picture.

Royal watchers are also now questioning the timing of the entire episode, with critics claiming the leaks may be diverting attention away from former Prince Andrew’s ongoing controversies.

The broader case between Harry and Associated Newspapers focuses on allegations of unlawful newsgathering. However, his Facebook chats with Griffiths have taken on added significance for how they appear to challenge his version of events.

In one message presented to the court, the Duke dialed up the charm on the reporter while referencing a missed social gathering.

“I WISH I was there, sugar. But unfortunately, stuck in Cornwall doing Army stuff 🙁 Otherwise I would have been there playing and then drinking u under the table, obvi!!” Harry wrote, according to the Telegraph.

Griffiths testified that the two connected on Facebook in 2011, exchanged numbers, and later attended at least one additional gathering together.

Critics Accuse Palace Of Distraction Tactics From Andrew Controversies

In the wake of the resurfaced messages from the early 2010s, critics of the Royal Family are questioning why Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, continue to dominate headlines instead of former Prince Andrew and the controversies still surrounding him.

“Good grief! With Andrew and the monarchy in the wonkiest shape it’s ever been, they need to shift focus to Megs and Harry always, and it’s ridiculous,” one user complained via a comment on Reddit.

They also pointed to the couple’s former UK residence, raising questions about how it was reassigned within the Royal Family.

“It’s also not working. Wonder if Charles will be giving them back the home he took from them and gave to Andrew,” the user added.

Another aspect of the ongoing Harry and Griffiths saga that appears to have struck a nerve with fans is the timeline, with their online exchange predating his relationship with his current wife.

Harry appears to have met the reporter through mutual friends in December 2011, with court evidence placing their interactions at a country-house weekend hosted by Arthur Landon.

Nearly five years later, the “spare” was set up on a blind date with Markle in London by a mutual friend.

In a comment on X, one fan wasted no time pointing out the timeline.

“I don’t understand how this is a story. Was he married at the time?” the commenter said, while another one wrote, “If he wasn’t married to his wife at the time, no one cares.”

Prince Andrew Relocates With Mobile Home As Legal Troubles Persist

As scrutiny intensifies around Harry following the resurfacing of his past messages, attention is also really starting to turn to the stark reality of his uncle Andrew’s dramatically scaled-down life.

The disgraced royal is preparing to relocate to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate. The modest five-bedroom property is a far cry from his previous, 30-room residence at Royal Lodge.

Yet it is not the house itself drawing the most attention, but what sits outside it. According to the Daily Mail, a pre-owned Willerby Meridian Lodge caravan was delivered to the property, reportedly costing around $33,000.

Prince Harry’s Court Battle Turns Chaotic With Witness Drama

Harry was one of several high-profile claimants in the unlawful newsgathering case against Associated Newspapers that is now awaiting judgment.

Proceedings grew tense as the royal took to the stand in the 10-week legal battle, per the BBC.

At multiple points during his testimony, Harry was interrupted and instructed to answer questions directly rather than argue his case, as exchanges in court became increasingly heated. However, the most dramatic moment came when a private investigator “switched sides” after disputing his own statement and forcing the court to treat him as a hostile witness.

Carrie Underwood Issues Blunt Truth About Hollywood

Published

Carrie Underwood at Opry 100: A Live Celebration

Carrie Underwood has given insight into how she navigates Hollywood and her faith, while sharing a blunt truth about the industry.

Rising to fame on “American Idol” in 2005, she became a chart-topping country star and has since returned to the show as a judge, finding fulfillment in mentoring new talent.

Offstage, Carrie Underwood balances family life with husband Mike Fisher and their two sons on their Tennessee farm, keeping her personal life authentic and hands-on despite her fame and busy schedule.

For more than two decades, Underwood has navigated the highs and lows of Hollywood, yet one constant has anchored her career: her faith.

Following Monday’s faith-focused episode of “American Idol,” the country music icon, who won the show in 2005 and joined as a judge last year, reflected on how she has stayed grounded amidst the industry’s “self-serving” tendencies.

Underwood explained that the industry can feel detached from reality, with people focused on their own success and comfort, making it easy to lose touch with their roots. For her, faith has been the key to maintaining perspective and staying true to herself.

“Faith is the thing that can keep you grounded,” she told Fox News Digital. “When you’re in the entertainment industry, there are a lot of things that, and I’ve said this before, it’s just not real life. You can get caught up in a lot.”

“You’re kind of in a self-serving business,” the singer continued. “Everybody around you is there to make sure you’re good, and you’re happy, and you have everything you need, and I feel like you can start to… You can lose your roots real fast, you know. So I think faith is the only way to keep you grounded.”

Underwood first captured audiences on “American Idol,” quickly achieving massive success with hits like “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Before He Cheats” from her debut album “Some Hearts,” which remains the best-selling debut by a solo female country artist.

She has since released eight more albums, including “Carnival Ride” (2007), “Play On” (2009), and “Blown Away” (2012), solidifying her place in country music.

Returning to “Idol” as a judge, she shared, has brought her career full circle.

“Every once in a while, I will see glimpses of myself in a hopeful way, whether it’s somebody being super nervous or sometimes stylistically, just navigating this,” she said. “This is weird, let’s be honest. Being up on stage, singing in front of a whole bunch of people on TV, it’s not your everyday kind of thing.”

She added, “So everybody’s figuring out how to navigate all of it. But I’m just glad that we get to be a part of somebody’s journey, lots of people’s journeys.”

On Monday, Underwood performed the hymn “How Great Thou Art” and applauded “American Idol” for allowing contestants to express their faith.

“It was something that they got to praise the Lord with. It was just a joyful, happy, lovely night,” she added.

Balancing her career with family life, Underwood recently told “The View” how she keeps her home life grounded on her Tennessee farm with husband Mike Fisher and their sons, Isaiah and Jacob.

“I don’t bring work home with me,” she explained. “And it is the opposite of what I do everywhere else, like being on stage and being at home. These are two different people, pretty much, and I love that because it’s like they’ll come to shows, and they’ll see me do what I do, and I feel like they’re proud.”

She continued, describing her hands-on approach at home: “I’m usually covered in dirt, or I have farm animals everywhere, or I’m covered in poop or whatever it is. That’s mom, and I hope, more than anything, that’s what they take away from me, and that’s what they remember about me. Like she was mom, and every once in a while she goes and gets on stage.”

The team’s official Instagram shared a photo of the couple smiling, with Underwood wearing a yellow Predators jersey featuring Fisher’s former number, 12, while he held personalized bobbleheads of them in matching jerseys.

The pair met in 2008 through a mutual friend and got engaged in December 2009. They married on July 10, 2010, at a Ritz-Carlton resort in Georgia and have since welcomed two sons, Isaiah, 11, and Jacob, 7.

In a 2019 interview with People Magazine, Underwood described Fisher as the partner she was always meant to be with. Don Lemon recounted his January arrest during a recent appearance on ABC’s “The View,” where the famed journalist tearfully shared his experience being taken into custody following coverage of a Minnesota ICE protest.

The host of “The Don Lemon Show” on YouTube that boasts almost 1.3 million subscribers, sat alongside panelist, former co-worker, and long-time friend Sunny Hostin to discuss the incident.

On Thursday, April 2, former CNN anchor Don Lemon paid a visit to “The View” and spoke about his experience being arrested in a Los Angeles hotel room days after doing on-the-ground coverage of an ICE protest at a Minnesota church.

Lemon was arrested in Los Angeles while in town to cover the 2026 Grammy Awards, but his legal team attempted to contact the Department of Justice beforehand when word spread that the journalist would be arrested. However, Lemon said they were ignored in favor of publicly embarrassing him.

“All they had to do was [say] ‘Hey, Mr. Lemon, turn yourself in,’” he said.

Hostin agreed with his assessment of the DOJ favoring public embarrassment, stating they wanted “to send a message to intimidate and harass.”

“I’ve been leaning on Sunny for counsel just as a friend. No legal stuff, but just as a friend,” Lemon said while on the panel, adding the DOJ chose to arrest him despite his willingness to turn himself in “because they want to embarrass people.”

The conversation took an emotional turn when Lemon teared up recalling how federal agents taking off a wedding present from his husband was the only way his arrest was known.

“I was fiddling with it, [and an agent] was like, ‘Do you want me to take that off?’” Lemon said of the diamond bracelet given to him by his husband Tim.

“There was an FBI agent that walked up to me and said, ‘I will take care of it.’ I said, ‘Give this to my husband…’ And he took it up. That was the only way that anybody knew that I’d been arrested,” he shared.

While staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel during Grammy weekend, Lemon was taken into custody by more than two dozen federal agents, from both the FBI and Homeland Security, according to PEOPLE.

Per the outlet, Lemon was arrested around 11 p.m. local time in Los Angeles at the famed location, when agents showed up at his hotel room door.

Following his arrest, a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson issued a statement to the outlet regarding Lemon’s charges.

“Don Lemon is being charged with 18 USC 241, Conspiracy to Deprive Rights, and 18 USC 248, Violation of the FACE Act, interfering by force of someone’s First Amendment rights,” the spokesperson said.

The overwhelming response to Lemon’s arrest was generally supportive, and when the number of agents on hand to arrest him was released, the sentiment included what many believe to be a massive overreach.

“That is wildly excessive. That’s treating someone like they have an assault rifle,” one commenter wrote in response to the PEOPLE details. “Two dozen heavily armed to arrest one man, very cowardly,” added another.

On February 13, Lemon appeared in a Minnesota federal court on charges stemming from his coverage of an anti-ICE protest at a local church, which he was broadcasting live for his online news program.

According to NBC News, he stood in front of Magistrate Judge Douglas L. Micko and entered a plea of not guilty on all counts. The judge also told Lemon that he is “free to travel unless he were to violate any state or federal laws.”

During the hearing, the prosecutor in the case confirmed that Lemon’s cellphone was seized by authorities at the time of his arrest and a search warrant has since been obtained to investigate its contents.

Abbe Lowell, a member of Lemon’s legal team, said that seizing the cellphone was an action of possible “over-execution,” per the outlet.

Following his January 29 arrest, Lemon was formally released from custody after a short court appearance on January 30, per The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s committed to fighting this case,” Lemon’s attorney Marilyn Bednarski said at the time.

U.S. District Judge Patricia Donahue allowed Lemon to be released on a no money bond.

According to the 14-page indictment that was previously unsealed, Lemon “is charged with conspiracy and interfering with the First Amendment rights of worshipers,” per the Associated Press.

Following his release from custody, Lemon stood outside the courthouse before the media and issued a brief statement.

“I have spent my entire career covering the news. I will not stop now. There is no more important time than right night to cover the news…I will not stop now. I will not stop ever. I will not be silenced, I look forward to my day in court,” Lemon said.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the White House openly mocked the award-winning journalist. A black-and-white photo of Lemon from the Minnesota ICE protest was posted with the caption, “When life gives you lemons,” alongside an emoji of chains.

Per Deadline, Bernice King, daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. and the CEO of the Center for Nonviolent Social Change, offered a blistering yet simple response to the post that many deemed racist.

King referred to the message as an example of “immaturity, poor taste, and fascism.”

HBO’s ‘The Pitt’ Season 2 Put on Life Support by a Surprising Crime Thriller

Published

on

my-so-called-life-claire-danes

A shake-up like this matters more when the show getting knocked down (The Pitt, in this case) is not some disposable chart placeholder. In the April 1 U.S. HBO Max TV ranking as per FlixPatrol, the streamer’s long-running medical monster slipped from #1 to #2, and that is meaningful because The Pitt has been one of HBO Max’s most critically bulletproof hits since it first debuted, sitting at a 97% average Tomatometer overall, with Season 2 at 99% and Season 1 at 95%. So for a darker newcomer to jump in, even for a day, says something real about audience curiosity.

It also helps that the challenger is loaded with a massive cast. David Harbour, Jason Bateman, Linda Cardellini, Richard Jenkins, and Joy Sunday are not exactly the cast of a niche experiment. What makes the move more interesting is that this is not a clean prestige-drama-versus-prestige-drama battle. One side is a high-pressure hospital series built on realism, exhaustion, and procedural momentum. The other is a seven-episode Steven Conrad limited series built around suburban rot, affair-fueled chaos, crime, and a tone that keeps swerving between dark comedy and something much nastier. That is usually a riskier sell.

That show taking the lead is DTF St. Louis, and on April 1, officially overtook The Pitt to claim the #1 TV spot. It is a real breakout moment for a new adult thriller-comedy with an 88% Rotten Tomatoes score, a weekly rollout, and the kind of cast that can turn a weird premise into event viewing. The Pitt, on the other hand, still held the top overall position in the separate Amazon Channels view of HBO Max content, so the medical drama has not been erased. But on HBO Max’s direct TV chart, the crown changed hands. The Pitt bounced back to the #1 spot today on April 2, likely in anticipation of Season 2’s next episode tonight.

Don’t Give Up on These Shows That Got Off to Rocky Starts — The Collider TV Quiz!

Some of the most beloved shows got off to a rough start. Here are eight that either had trouble finding an audience or were axed before they could.

Elsewhere on HBO Max, the movie side is being driven by franchise muscle and comfort rewatches. Ballerina is leading the domestic film chart, with John Wick: Chapter 4 right behind it, while both Dune movies are still pulling strong positions at #3 and #4. The rest of the list mixes nostalgic, easy-click titles like The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Spider-Man 2. On the TV side, Rooster, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and two 90 Day shows are all holding real traction, while Tournament of Champions and Born to Bowl have also broken into the current Top 10.

DTF St. Louis has been trending for a while now and is available to stream on HBO Max. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Bold and Beautiful: Ridge Explodes in Rage! Brooke Sides with Taylor in Affair Scandal?

Published

on

Bold and the Beautiful: Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) - Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) - Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang)

Bold and the Beautiful hot news spoilers that confirm Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) and Deacon Sharpe‘s (Sean Kanan) fling is publicly outed soon. And when Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) finds out, you know, he’s going to lose it. But I expect Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) maybe to disagree with her husband about Taylor and her fling.

We’re going to talk about this spoiler because there is more to it. It says, “A lot of people have very strong feelings about Deacon and Taylor’s hidden fling when it comes out.” Now, let’s get into those reactions, specifically Ridge and Brooke’s in particular.

Sheila Figures It Out on Bold and the Beautiful

So, right now, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) is putting all the pieces together. She’s so close to figuring out Deacon is cheating on her with Taylor. First, she noticed the Il Giardino pizza box at Steffy Forrester‘s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) house that Deacon left there. And of course, Sheila didn’t know who left it, but it got her thinking.

And that was right after finding Taylor disheveled and sweaty, all naked in her sheets with the balcony door wide open. And Sheila suggested it was special self-pleasuring me time. And Taylor latched onto that as a good enough excuse. But Sheila’s going to circle back around to what she saw and realize what it really was.

The Clues Keep Piling Up on B&B

What also got her going was that Deacon just seemed to disappear for many, many hours. If he had showed back up at Il Giardino after he left Taylor’s and told Sheila he cut dinner short with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) because he wasn’t feeling well, Sheila might have dropped it right then and there.

But in her mind, Deacon was missing all night when really for a lot of it he was upstairs. So that was sloppy on his part. And Sheila’s mind kept spinning. And she asked the Il Giardino delivery guy if he took food over to Steffy’s house that day and he said, “No, it’s been a while since I was there.”

And then the smoking gun was a sandy shoe. When Sheila found sand in and on Deacon’s dirty boots, she realized he’d been somewhere sandy. Mind you, he could have met Hope for dinner at a beachside restaurant. It is California. There’s plenty of beach. But Sheila decided that sand means he was in Malibu where Taylor lives.

So, the look on Sheila’s face said it all. Everything clicked. And she’s increasingly certain that Deacon was with Taylor. And Sheila is kind of grilling Deacon on the next episode about his boots. And he says something about he’ll be more careful. He doesn’t want anyone hurt. It’s just weird dialogue.

Taylor and Deacon’s Affair Goes Public on Bold

So, these new April spoilers say that Taylor and Deacon’s relationship goes public. They’re going to be outed. I don’t think they’re out screaming it from the rooftops. It’s going to be dropped like a bombshell. And Bold spoilers mention that many people have feelings about this shocking reveal and Sheila is only one of them.

So, I want to talk about the people who are going to freak out about Taylor and Deacon and this affair being outed and how explosive it all is going to be. And so, let’s start with Steffy. She already threatened to kick Taylor out of her life, out of the family, out of the house. And Steffy also threatened Taylor saying that she’d go tell Ridge.

And I think Steffy might do it because she’s desperate to stop Taylor before it is too late. And once it is too late, which is coming soon, and Steffy finds out Sheila knows about the affair, I think Steffy’s anti-Deacon feelings are going to grow, she’ll be frantically worried about Taylor’s safety. And from there, I think Steffy will make sure that Ridge knows exactly what is going on with Taylor and Deacon and ask for his help to shut it down once and for all.

Ridge Will Lose It

And speaking of Ridge, he already had a tantrum about this in Taylor’s office when he walked in on her and Deacon. And that’s been oh my gosh, six weeks ago, maybe more. If you remember, Ridge also got really demanding and told Taylor she’s going to stop seeing Deacon.

He told him, “Get your hands off Taylor.” And Ridge told both of them, “This is over,” because you know how Ridge loves to tell everybody the way things are because you know he thinks he gets to decide everything. So I bet we get more of that from Ridge.

Him being all high-handed and bossy with his ex-wife. Something like, “I told you to stay away from Deacon and now see this mess you made, Taylor.” As if Ridge has any say after his constant betrayals with Brooke over the years.

But in this situation, honestly, he’s not wrong. Even though Ridge’s big head is gonna explode, Taylor is 100% incorrect in doing this for many, many reasons.

Bold and the Beautiful: Taylor Hayes – Ridge Forrester – Brooke Logan

Brooke May Surprise Ridge on B&B

As for Brooke, I think she might stun Ridge and lean towards being team Taylor. And of course, Brooke doesn’t want Taylor in danger, but also Brooke is a follow your heart girl. And she told Taylor ago she wants her to find her destiny. And also, Brooke cares about Deacon and she wants better for him than Sheila freaking Carter.

And if Taylor gets her happily ever after with Deacon, that also means no more love triangle issues for Brooke with Taylor and Ridge in the mix. So, next I want to talk about Finn (Tanner Novlan). Don’t forget him. He cares about Taylor. He loves his mother-in-law, but he also knows his mom Sheila’s dangerous track record.

So, Finn may intervene with Sheila and talk her down. Finn might tell Sheila if she goes off the deep end and does something violent, hurts Taylor, then she will never ever see him or Hayes Forrester Finnegan again. You know, Finn could say he’ll get a restraining order. He could tell Sheila he will hate her and never forgive her if she hurts Taylor.

And even though Sheila is banned from Finn and Hayes right now, Sheila has hope that things might change. And I think Finn could stop Sheila in her tracks if he threatens to destroy that hope because bottom line, she adores her son and grandson.

Li Could Help Sheila Get Non-Violent Revenge

Speaking of that, there’s Finn’s mom, Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda), who might also be able to talk Sheila down. But I think she would also have a very disgusted reaction to finding out Deacon and Taylor’s dirty secret when it goes public. I could see Li telling Sheila she deserves better than cheating Deacon, just like Li deserved better than cheating Jack Finnegan.

And Li might promise to help Sheila get revenge in a non-violent way. Li could tell the hospital board that Taylor is sleeping with a patient even though Deacon’s not seeing her as a therapist anymore. It is against the rules, by the way, to ever sleep with a patient if you are a psychiatrist.

And that’s what Taylor is, and she would absolutely lose her license over it. By the way, there’s another April spoiler for Bold and the Beautiful that says a couple who seem to be a perfect match winds up ending their love story. And I definitely think there’s a chance that’s about Sheila and Deacon.

It really doesn’t match a lot of other couples. You could extrapolate and say it applies to Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) and Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace), but it’s not really a good fit because they are completely broken up and I don’t think anybody else is going to call it quits.

Will Sheila Control Her Anger on Bold and the Beautiful?

So, you know, she may see that Deacon’s fallen out of love with her and in love with Taylor and that it wasn’t done with malice. And Sheila may also realize no matter how she goes about this looking for revenge, she will ruin her life if she acts in violence in her anger.

She’s entitled to be mad and to be hurt, but she’s not entitled to be violent. And I kind of think Sheila’s evolved enough to maybe be able to rein in the violence. You know, she may have some words to say, but hopefully she won’t take any drastic actions.

But a third spoiler for April says, “One woman gives in to love and puts herself in danger because of it.” And that sounds like Taylor sticking with Deacon despite the risk, despite Steffy and Ridge’s outrage, and despite Sheila being a danger.

What’s also interesting is for a minute Deacon and Taylor’s affair could cause a little trouble for her ex-husband’s marriage because I do think Brooke will throw her support to Taylor as long as Sheila is not a risk. Brooke may also tell Ridge that Deacon’s a good man and he’s worthy of Taylor.

And that would really annoy Ridge because he thinks Deacon’s terrible. But, you know, he’s never done a bad thing to Taylor. Meanwhile, Ridge, let’s be honest, has done Taylor dirty many times.

Kim Kardashian on the red carpet

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to television thanks to her starring role in Hulu’s “All’s Fair” and her appearances on “The Kardashians.” Now, after filming a new movie directed by actress Eva Longoria, the 45-year-old is teaming up with the production team behind “Love Island” for a new show.

According to Variety, Kardashian is set to executive produce a new unscripted series, “Team Moms.” Paramount+ has given the green light to the series, which will follow families involved in competitive youth baseball. The report states that the series will air in 2026.

The show will be set at the Legendary Prep Academy in Scottsdale, Arizona, which is described as a strict baseball-focused school for kids who fall between 6th and 12th grade. Legendary Prep Academy is considered a feeder school for Division 1 scholarships and later the MLB, making it a highly sought-after institution for players and parents serious about baseball.

Per the report, “Team Moms” will include perspectives from not only the parents and players, but also the coaching staff. Regarding the players, the show will mostly center around the starting lineup for what has been described as one of the most competitive programs in the sport.

The show’s tagline states, “Willing to do whatever it takes for their children to excel at America’s favorite pastime, the intensity of the program is only paralleled by the fervor of its athletes’ parents, who will stop at nothing to ensure their kids make it to the big leagues.”

Following the announcement that Kardashian would executive produce “Team Moms” for Paramount+, potential viewers chimed in with varied opinions. Some felt it could be a compelling show, while others were surprised that such a school as Legendary Prep Academy existed.

First, one person marveled, “Everyone’s focused on Kim, but can we talk about the fact that there’s a baseball prep school in Scottsdale training 6th graders for MLB fame?? That’s the actual story here.”

Someone else said, “That sounds like another big venture from Kim Kardashian, blending reality TV with high-stakes youth sports, is definitely a formula that can draw attention. With the rise of NIL deals and intense competition, shows like this will likely spark both interest and debate about the pressures placed on young athletes.”

A different X user speculated, “So we’re putting Kim K in charge of youth sports content now? Either this is going to be genuinely compelling TV… or the most dramatic dugout meltdown we’ve ever seen.”

Lastly, someone else said, “Youth baseball going mainstream like this is interesting.”

Kardashian has been making a name for herself as an actress in recent years, following her big-screen debut in 2013 in “Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.” More recently, she appeared in season 12 of “American Horror Story” and in “All’s Fair,” both Ryan Murphy productions.

Now, her next movie is Netflix’s “The Fifth Wheel,” directed by Longoria. The “Desperate Housewives” alum spoke to PEOPLE in April 2026 about Kardashian’s performance in the film.

She said, “It’s so much fun. We just wrapped after three months of filming. We ended in Vegas. It was a dream job. First of all, it’s a big, unapologetically R-rated female comedy that feels modern and contemporary.”

Longoria added, “Kim is the anchor of the movie. We just had a blast. Kim and I have been friends for 25 years, and when I got the job, she said, ‘Oh, thank God Eva knows I’m funny.’ And she is — she’s so funny. I cannot wait for the world to see how great she is in this movie and hopefully spark more female comedies.”

4 Greatest Movies Based on Bible Stories

Published

on

Cast members stand outside a tent and look up into the sky in The Ten Commandments

When it comes to faith-based films, the cinema has a rich and diverse range of options for viewers to enjoy. From comedies to dramas, animated epics to Hollywood classics, there is no shortage of movies that have been centered around Christian themes. However, when it comes to defining excellence in this multifaceted genre, there are certain movies that keep rising to the top again and again.

Whether it is the visually stunning animation of The Prince of Egypt or the sincere dedication to authenticity in The Passion of the Christ, these movies are the best of the best. Blending a background of biblical stories with new, creative genius, they capture some of the most significant moments from the Bible and bring them to life like never before. With their impactful storytelling and cinematic prowess, these are the four greatest movies based on Bible stories.

‘The Ten Commandments’ (1956)

In the 1940s and 1950s, there was an abundance of epic studio films based on the Bible. Movies like The Robe, Samson and Delilah, and Solomon and Sheba were grand in their scope and scale. The principal movie to come out of this era was The Ten Commandments.

Directed by Cecil B. DeMille, The Ten Commandments follows the life of Moses and includes important events like the 10 plagues of Egypt, the mass exodus of the Hebrew people, and the origin of the Ten Commandments. Charlton Heston was the preeminent actor of the time, and his larger-than-life presence on camera lent itself well to playing the lead role. Yul Brynner, another iconic actor, was irreplaceable as Rameses and brought the pomp and confidence needed to play the stubborn and narcissistic ruler.

DeMille had actually made a silent film called The Ten Commandments back in 1923. This version was half biblical story and half modern-day tale about a family and how the Ten Commandments impacted them. DeMille received so many requests from fans to remake a movie about the Ten Commandments that he did, 33 years later. This time, by focusing solely on the biblical story, the film felt more intentional and captivating. The 1956 version of The Ten Commandments was unlike any other movie before it. It was unmatched for grandeur and sheer enormity. The cast included thousands of extras and live animals, and filming took place in California and Mount Sinai in Egypt.

DeMille’s commitment to what is largely regarded as his magnum opus put his health at risk.

He suffered a heart attack during filming, but refused to abandon the project and returned to the set as soon as he physically could. The Ten Commandments was nominated for seven Oscars and won for its groundbreaking special effects. From the parting of the Red Sea to the pillar of fire, The Ten Commandments had some of the most innovative and spectacular special effects ever captured on screen. Celebrating its 70-year anniversary this year, The Ten Commandments is still as inspiring to watch now as it was upon its advent. When it comes to the sweeping studio epics that are based on the Bible, it is undoubtedly the paragon.

‘The Nativity Story’ (2006)

Movies focusing on the birth of Jesus are mostly animated and focused on children as the audience. The Nativity is left to be a footnote in biblical biopics, seemingly always good to mention, but never really focused on. In 2006, writer Mike Rich and director Catherine Hardwicke released the best biopic focusing solely on the birth of Christ with The Nativity Story.

Casting in a film where there are two or fewer main characters is crucial. The whole story is on their shoulders. They have to have good chemistry with each other and be engaging enough for viewers to want to follow their journey. The casting for The Nativity Story is spot-on, and Keisha Castle-Hughes and Oscar Isaac deliver dynamic performances. Castle-Hughes, who has starred in TV series like Game of Thrones and Star Wars: The Bad Batch, is most celebrated for her role in the feature film Whale Rider, where she received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the age of 13. Isaac is a superbly talented actor who is able to inhabit a role with the adaptive skill of a chameleon. His roles in films like Ex Machina and Frankenstein have put him on the map in Hollywood and solidified his career as a consummate character actor.

In The Nativity Story, Castle-Hughes is endearing, believable, and captivating as Mary. Isaac is perfect as Joseph, displaying great depths of loyalty, courage, and obedience. Watching the two of them together on screen is wonderful as they try to bond and navigate their way through newlywed life under extraordinary circumstances. The three wise men, portrayed by Nadim Sawalha, Eriq Ebouaney, and Stefan Kalipha, provide jovial levity, and all of the supporting cast, including Shohreh Aghdashloo as Elizabeth and Ciarán Hinds as Herod, are terrific. The Nativity Story’s dedication to authentic cultural and historical representation is refreshing and sets this adaptation apart from its peers. When it comes to depicting this important moment in the life of Christ, The Nativity Story is unmatched in both its acting and overall cinematography.

‘The Prince of Egypt’ (1998)

DreamWorks Animation has gifted the world with some fantastic films. Titles such as How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek, and Kung Fu Panda have become fast favorites with moviegoers around the world. In 1998, they released an animated masterpiece called The Prince of Egypt. Similar to The Ten Commandments, The Prince of Egypt follows the life of Moses (Val Kilmer). The cast for the film is tremendous and includes the voice talents of Michelle Pfeiffer, Ralph Fiennes, Sandra Bullock, Danny Glover, Jeff Goldblum, Patrick Stewart, and Helen Mirren.

The animation for The Prince of Egypt is absolutely stunning. Hand-drawn images are used predominantly, with computer-generated graphics added in scenes that require it. The parting of the Red Sea is one of the most incredible scenes in animation history and took a reported two years to animate. Renowned film critic Roger Ebert called The Prince of Egypt “one of the best-looking animated films ever made,” and further commented, “The more movies I see, the more grateful I am for new films that go to the trouble of creating astonishing new images.”

In addition to the visually gorgeous aspects of the film, The Prince of Egypt boasts an Oscar-winning song in “When You Believe.” Performed by Michelle Pfeiffer and Sally Dworsky for the film, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston’s version of the song hit #15 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1999. Hans Zimmer, the maestro behind films such as Dune: Part One and Inception, composed the beautiful score. The music of The Prince of Egypt plays an integral role in the film and includes lighthearted melodies full of texture to poignant lyrics full of drama.

Walt Disney once staked everything he had to prove that animated films could tell compelling stories. Although released by a competitor, The Prince of Egypt more than realizes his vision and proves his point. From the dedicated performances of the highly skilled actors to the award-winning music and phenomenal animation, The Prince of Egypt is an unparalleled triumph. No other biblical animated movie even comes close. The Prince of Egypt is not only one of the best movies based on Bible stories to ever be made, but one of the greatest animated movies of the last 100 years as well.

‘The Passion of the Christ’ (2004)

In 2004, director and co-writer Mel Gibson made history with The Passion of the Christ. A rated-R film depicting the crucifixion of Jesus in gory, unapologetic detail, it soon became the highest-grossing religious movie of all time, and it has the Guinness World Record to prove it. The film earned a global box office take of over $600 million.

What makes The Passion of the Christ so unique is its dedication to realism. Although English-speaking audiences were one of the main target demographics, Gibson chose to predominantly have the actors speak in Aramaic, Hebrew, and Latin because those were the languages of the region and time period. Gibson also chose not to pull any punches when it came to the visceral violence involved in a Roman crucifixion. Every bloody detail is allowed screen time and makes The Passion of the Christ a provocative viewing experience that few walk away from unimpacted.

Gibson and those involved with The Passion of the Christ did what, sadly, few faith-based films had done before: extensive research. The filmmakers not only took the time to learn about the subject matter in detail, but also broke Hollywood norms by refusing to whitewash the cast. Though The Passion of the Christ is not casual viewing and has its share of critics, it made waves in the entertainment industry that current successes like The Chosen and House of David are riding on now. The Passion of the Christ has become the definitive work about the crucifixion of Jesus, and every biblically based biopic released since owes it a debt of gratitude.

Sharon Stone Reveals Her Best Hollywood Kiss

Robert De Niro attends the red carpet for the opening ceremony and "Partir Un Jour" screening

Sharon Stone is reminiscing on a very memorable lip-locking scene from a 1995 blockbuster!

The actress has now crowned actor Robert De Niro as the man with the golden smooch after he literally kissed her out of her shoes in their “Casino” movie.

Sharon Stone was recently in the news for the brave cause of encouraging women to embrace aging and be comfortable in their own skin, including the idea of nudity.

Sharon Stone Crowns Robert De Niro Hollywood’s Best Kisser

The actress recalled the scene during which the kissing happened when she had to go to the bathroom as a hustler and get her payment from De Niro’s character on Sirius XM’s “Radio Andy” on Wednesday, April 1. Stone played Ginger McKenna in the movie and stated that when De Niro’s character, Sam ‘Ace’ Rothstein, gave her $50, she asked for more.

“And he … reaches in and he gives me, like, $100, and then I lean over, and I kiss him,” Stone noted, revealing that it was an immaculate lip contact, but their director, Martin Scorsese, wanted more from that exchange, which they all agreed to give. In a 2020 interview, the actress speculated that the kissing scene in “Casino” was the height of on-screen kissing moments.

Stone stressed that what made it memorable was that it was with De Niro, whom she adored the most in the world, and wanted to prove that she knew exactly what she was doing. For the media personality, every other kiss on screen since then has not been able to beat the record they set in the 1995 flick.

The ‘Basic Instinct’ Actress Claimed The Actor Used To Push Her Button On Set

Despite Stone’s utter admiration for De Niro and his talent, they had really heightened moments on set where they sat across the table arguing. She recalled the actor reassuring her how much of a great actress she is and how that statement infuriated her because it was a dream to work with him, and there he was, challenging her at the table.

As stated by PEOPLE, Stone praised De Niro’s incredible observational skills as an actor, which helped him push the right buttons when it comes to her emotions and crawl under her skin to get to the point where he needs her.

DeNiro and Scorsese caught up at the movie’s 30th anniversary at the Tribeca Film Festival last June, noting that Las Vegas’ formerly mob-run landscape has been replaced by corporate capitalism. The director recognized the evolution of Vegas from an organized crime society to a more family-friendly, capitalized structure, a bit different from how the movie portrayed the city.

The Blast shared that the movie star confessed in an interview with Germany’s Vogue that it took her a long time to embrace her body because of the terms that were often thrown around when her career began. She noted that words like being f-kable were being used to replace one’s ability to really work and be camera-ready.

Stone added that people often described her as muscular, athletic, and masculine, which is very different from the standard in Hollywood. To fit more into the mold, the actress shared that she posed semi-nude for Playboy, and her plan worked because she landed a role in “Basic Instinct,” which earned her a spot on Sexiest Woman Alive lists.

According to the actress, “There was a point in my forties when I went into the bathroom with a bottle of wine, locked the door, and said, ‘I won’t get out until I can fully accept my body.” From that moment, everything switched up for the media personality, and she gained the confidence required to love her body.

The 68-Year-Old Was Applauded For Her Stance On Aging And Body Positivity

Stone shared some candid thoughts in a social media post in February, asking why people often felt reluctant to embrace how they appeared in front of the mirror and basically the whole concept of being human. The actress added that fear of performing basic human functions and being afraid of one’s own self should never be normalized.

The actress emphasized her admiration for living in her own skin every day of the week, and in any season. She continued that women are much more than their appearance, as they are also talented artists, mothers, sisters, wives, nurses, teachers, and play many other important roles.

Stone was not alone in her view; other Hollywood personalities like Courtney Love, Gal Gadot, and Patricia Arquette all agreed with her point, sending heart emojis and joining other fans to praise her for being so real.

The filmmaker was on host duty last January for the American Heart Association (AHA) Red Dress Collection Concert, where she shared her testimony about surviving a stroke and the result of her will to live. Stone noted that the stroke was caused by a vertebral artery bleeding into her brain for over a week, and she had almost no rehabilitation programs to help her find her way back to normal.

The Blast noted that the actress also dealt with her divorce from Phil Bronstein as she recovered, which further sent her down the pits of misery. Stone left the hospital with a large percentage of her body mass gone, her right foot nearly gone, and basically no idea of her name.

Following that episode, she was forced to realign her values by spending time with her family, getting closer to her children, and focusing on work. Stone acknowledged that battling a stroke brought her very close to heaven’s door and that demystified death to her, proving that a life well lived is the ultimate prize.

Sharon Stone knows how to keep a memory, that is for sure!

Young and the Restless: Baby Bombshell?! Tessa’s Shocking Pregnancy? Mariah Devastated!

Young and the Restless: Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) - Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes)

Young and the Restless has Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) lying to her wife, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), about her relationship with Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). And let’s face it, he is also lying to Mariah’s face.

Plus, Daniel and Tessa are heading out of the country together soon. So, I wonder if Mariah is in for a massive shock when she comes home from the psychiatric hospital. We’re going to talk about a possible baby bombshell coming for Daniel and Tessa that could blow up Mariah’s life right as she is just getting it back. Let’s dive in!

Daniel and Tessa Both Lied to Mariah on Young and the Restless

So, I’m sure they felt like they did it with the best intentions, but both Daniel and Tessa were less than truthful with Mariah. In fact, Daniel and Tessa both lied right to Mariah’s face. They misled her about how serious they had gotten. You know, Daniel and Tessa both downplayed what happened while Mariah was gone.

And Daniel and Tessa both told Mariah that they were just friends. But the truth was Tessa thought her marriage was over, and she and Daniel started falling in love, falling into bed, sharing hopes, dreams, and their problems and music.

And it was because Mariah went unhinged, tried to kill some dude, and then, you know, kidnapped a kid and shut Tessa out of her life that things went really off the rails. But I’m guessing that Tessa worried that her relationship with Daniel could somehow mess up Mariah’s chances of a full mental health recovery.

So, if Mariah had asked months ago, the truth would have honestly been Daniel and Tessa were just friends, at least up until New Year’s Eve. But they started falling for each other emotionally even before they hit the sheets. Daniel was falling and Tessa was falling but was in denial about it. And while Mariah was gone, Tessa initiated a kiss. Then, you know, Mariah was like, “Marriage over, all done.” And then Tessa pulled Daniel into her bed.

It’s More Than Just Sex for Tessa & Daniel on Y&R

And Tessa’s connection to Daniel is a lot more than just sex. If it was just physical, I think it’d be easier to call the whole thing off because Tessa and Daniel could just stop sleeping together, as they have done. But the problem is there’s a lot of deep feelings underneath the sex. You know, Tessa and Daniel really care about each other, and those feelings are very much still there. And Mariah coming back doesn’t just erase how they feel about each other.

I’m certain Daniel is in love with Tessa. His dad knows it. You know, Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) is worried about him. But I also think that Tessa loves Daniel, too, or was starting to fall really hard, even though Tessa at the same time is absolutely still in love with her wife Mariah. And when Daniel encouraged Mariah to reach out to Tessa, work things out with her, that’s when Mariah told Daniel she knows he and Tessa are more than friends. But Daniel denied it. And when Mariah pressed Tessa, she also lied.

And if nothing else changed, if Daniel and Tessa had stayed just friends, you know, I think these lies would stick. You know, maybe Mariah would ignore her gut instinct that Daniel and Tessa were both lying. But for now, Mariah’s not there to watch. She’s in a psych hospital getting help.

Daniel and Tessa Head to Spain on Young and the Restless

And I tend to think everything could change while she’s gone because hours after she left Genoa City, Tessa and Daniel were, you know, close together and making plans because of this amazing offer Danny made. He overheard Daniel playing guitar, Tessa singing, and then Danny said, “You two should make an album.”

Then he invited Tessa and Daniel to go to Spain to play in this little club with him. And Tessa actually jumped at the chance to go to Barcelona and talked a reluctant Daniel into going. He’s not sure he wants to perform, but he told Tessa he would at least go on the trip.

So, while those two are in Spain and while Mariah’s gone, I do think they may be tempted. I don’t think they’ll give in. I hope they won’t, but they might. But I kind of doubt it because Tessa told Mariah she would be waiting on her when she came home from the psychiatric hospital. And Tessa seems to be sincere about wanting to save their marriage and be a family again. You know, her, Mariah, and Aria.

Could Tessa Be Pregnant on Y&R?

But I don’t think the shockers are over for them. I’m just wondering if Tessa is going to turn up pregnant because that would shake up everything, including her plans to stay with Mariah. Think about it. Tessa had no reason to be on birth control. I doubt she was because she was married to another woman, Mariah.

And the first time Tessa slept with Daniel, it was spur of the moment. Tessa initiated sexy time on New Year’s Eve. It was totally spontaneous. And Daniel was also surprised by it. I doubt he’s walking around with condoms because he’s still grieving Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom). And you know, Tessa would have no reason to carry condoms around in her purse and that sex wasn’t premeditated.

So, I kind of doubt that Daniel and Tessa were careful. They might not have even stopped to think about pregnancy. And if I recall correctly, that was the only onscreen time we saw them make love, but that doesn’t mean it was the only time they did. Couples do stuff offscreen all the time. Even so, once is enough to have Daniel in her bed for Tessa to turn up pregnant.

Young and the Restless: Dramatic Dump Ahead?

And if she does, that is a big soapy game changer. If she and Daniel made a baby, she could be anywhere from three months pregnant to a few weeks pregnant, presuming their sexual relationship continued up until the point that Mariah finally reached out and agreed to ask to work things out.

And given all the trauma and stress and the drama and the kidnapping, you know, Tessa might not have noticed. It’s not like she and Mariah were worrying about turning up pregnant and keeping track of their cycles and stuff.

So, even if Tessa keeps Daniel in the friend zone and tries to ignore her feelings for him, you know, she might realize right before Mariah’s back, oh, oh, okay, I’m pregnant. Or Tessa might realize while Mariah’s gone that she’s missed her period and could be pregnant. And that might, you know, freak her out because she is trying to rebuild things with Mariah and just be friends with Daniel on Young and the Restless.

A Baby Would Blow Everything Up on Y&R

But if Tessa’s pregnant, obviously she’d have to tell Mariah the truth and that she lied before about just being friends with him. And if Tessa were carrying Daniel’s child, he’d probably want her to have the kid. It was made in love. It wasn’t, you know, a whoopsie or a mistake or something like that. Tessa being pregnant obviously would be the soapiest outcome to this situation.

And while Mariah’s gone, you know, I think she is going to get the help she desperately needs. Hopefully, she’ll get her head on straight. But then bam, she comes back and if Tessa drops a baby bombshell, that would blow up everything. It could push Mariah right back over the edge. Or it could lead to an even wilder soap outcome.

You know, Tessa might decide to stay with Mariah, but also carry Daniel’s baby. And then Tessa and Daniel could agree to stay friends and co-parents, which would make Daniel part of their marriage basically for at least 18 years. That’s super messy.

Or, you know, if Tessa turns up pregnant, Mariah may tell her, “Go be with Daniel.” Because Mariah may come out of this still thinking she doesn’t deserve to be with Tessa and Aria. So, we’ll see if a baby bombshell drops and we find out Tessa is carrying Daniel’s child. I think it would be the soapiest outcome, and that’s what I am honestly hoping to see.
