10 Thriller Movies To Watch if You Love ‘Send Help’
So, you work in an office job, and your employers don’t seem to value just how important you are, or, heck, you as a person. But then, you accompany them on a business trip, and just as they’re laughing it up at your expense, the plane begins to nose dive into the ocean. You and another survivor, one of your bosses, make it to a deserted island, where he attempts to establish that he is, in fact, your superior. But, you’re not in the office anymore, and in the battle for survival, only one of you can come out victorious, aka, alive.
What you just read is the plot for Sam Raimi‘s survival horror thriller Send Help, which features a clash of dynamics between the subservient worker and the predatory boss, to see who has the survival instincts to make it back to civilization alive. Right from the start, you can instantly tell this is a Sam Raimi movie. He has a distinct way of telling stories, a way that few directors can capture, and the high-stakes nature of the film won over critics, and has won over audiences. It’s actually shocking that Send Help was released in January, because it doesn’t feel like a traditional “January movie.” Nevertheless, Send Help is definitely a contender of being one of the best films of the year, with a lot of 2026 left to go. So, after you’ve seen the horror play out in this thrilling film, you must still be hungry for more thrillers to satisfy your appetite. Well, you’re in luck, as we have movies that will capture your heart the same way Rachel McAdams did.
1
‘Violent Ends’ (2025)
If you were a big fan of the unabashed violence in Send Help, then this underrated 2025 thriller will certainly bring a smile to your face. Directed by John-Michael Powell, Violent Ends follows Lucas Frost (Billy Magnussen), a guy who really wants out of his family’s violent legacy to try to build a life for himself and his fiancée, Emma (Alexandra Shipp).
But, as the old saying goes, the streets have a long memory, and he is thrust back into this violent, criminal underworld to seek revenge after an armed robbery committed by one of his family members proves fatal. The violence in Violent Ends can be over-the-top at times, but it really does highlight how brutal drug life can be, and why Lucas was so desperate to escape it. It’s truly shocking that no one has talked about this independent film.
2
‘Phone Booth’ (2003)
So, back in the early 2000s, before the rise of the smartphone, the main way that people could make calls while they were in public was through the phone booth. For readers who may be too young to know what a phone booth was, it was a space where you went in, paid a quarter, and made your call. Most of the time, it was a harmless experience, but for Stuart Shepard (Colin Farrell), it became his personal hell.
2003’s Phone Booth is one of the most underrated thrillers of all-time, and it’s not even close. The movie follows Farrell as he’s held hostage by a sniper (Kiefer Sutherland), who forces him to reveal ugly truths about him to the public. Oh, and if he steps out of the phone booth, he gets shot. Every minute of the 81-minute runtime is filled with pulsating tension, and you wind up rooting for a guy who, honestly, you realistically wouldn’t be rooting for.
3
‘The Manchurian Candidate’ (1962)
We are living in strange times, indeed, but not even this crazy decade can match up to the wild and turbulent decade of the 1960s. It was a time of political upheaval, and it seemed like the entire world was on fire, which is why 1962 was the perfect year for United Artists to release The Manchurian Candidate.
Directed by John Frankenheimer and starring Frank Sinatra, the film follows Raymond Shaw (Laurence Harvey), who becomes an unwitting assassin tasked with taking out the presidential nominee, which the communists hoped would lead to an overthrow of the U.S. government. There isn’t a moment that’s wasted in The Manchurian Candidate, as the film was the perfect blend of thriller and satire; and while the movie can be uncomfortable to watch at times, if you’re used to the violence in Send Help, The Manchurian Candidate should be a cakewalk for you.
4
‘Zodiac’ (2007)
Here’s a little history lesson. In the late 1960s, a man had the San Francisco Bay Area in a state of terror, as five people were killed by him in a span of two years. He would go by the name of the Zodiac Killer, who mailed cryptic letters to multiple Bay Area newspapers with detailed information on the police news, and threatened to unleash a reign of terror on the region if the newspapers didn’t print his letters. The scary part is, the Zodiac Killer was never truly caught.
This bizarre and scary time period was chronicled in several films, but the best and most well-known was David Fincher‘s Zodiac, released in 2007 to rave reviews from both critics and audiences. The film did a splendid job in recreating the terror that residents of the Bay Area were feeling at the time, and the notes sent to the newspapers by the Zodiac Killer were indeed creepy. Zodiac has since gained a huge cult following, and is considered one of the best thrillers of all-time.
5
‘Se7en’ (1995)
If you thought Send Help was a crazy thriller, then us millennials have a movie that will certainly send a chill down your spine. Directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, Se7en was a mind-trip that, to this day, those who saw it in the theater still can’t wrap our heads around.
The basic premise of Se7en is this: Freeman and Pitt play two detectives who are trying to stop a serial killer who commits murder based on the seven deadly sins. While Send Help did have some light-hearted comedic moments sprinkled in, you will be very hard-pressed to find that here. The atmosphere is dark and forbidding, and the ending is one of the best in movie history. And, if you’ve seen the movie, yes, we’re still wondering what was in the box.
6
‘Barbarian’ (2022)
When I first saw the trailer for Barbarian, I didn’t know what to make of this movie. So, I decided to go into Barbarian completely blind, not looking into what the synopsis of the movie was about. It was a good idea, because if you think that Barbarian is what you think it is from just watching the trailer, I’m here to tell you, it will certainly catch you by surprise, in a good way.
For Barbarian, giving you a mini synopsis wouldn’t do the movie justice. This is a film that, if you haven’t seen it yet, you should definitely go in blind and watch how things unfold. I will say, that the first act of the film is a masterclass at setting up what is to come in Barbarian, and the whiplash you’ll get from the shift in tone is unforgettable.
7
‘Us’ (2019)
OK, so here’s a scenario for you: You go to a cabin, and one night, you see a family standing quietly and eerily in your driveway. You don’t know who these people are, or why they chose your driveway in the first place. Then, all of a sudden, the people attack you, and once you see them in the light, they unveil who they are: they’re you, except more terrifying.
Us, directed by Jordan Peele, is one of the best psychological horror films of all-time, right up there with Peele’s directorial debut Get Out. It was a movie that explored the darker side of the American experience. Us was kind of a strange movie, yes, but that’s the entire point. It wanted to get people talking, and it did. The ending to Us is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated plot twists in movie history. It was creepy, yet a satisfying way to end what was a great, mind-bending thriller.
8
‘The Fugitive’ (1993)
“I didn’t kill my wife!” I think we can all agree that this line, spoken by Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) in the acclaimed 1993 action thriller The Fugitive, is one of the pop culture staples of the 1990s. It was so simple, yet so powerful, and its inclusion in the promotional trailers for the Andrew Davis film did wonders for its marketing. The Fugitive is a manhunt thriller, in which Deputy Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) of the U.S. Marshals attempts to locate Dr. Kimble, who is wrongfully accused of killing his wife.
The Fugitive could have been a one-and-done movie with a simplistic plot, but the acting from Ford and Jones was so powerful, it transformed what could have been a moderately successful movie, into one of the best of the decade. We root for Kimble as he desperately tries to kill his name, while not having contempt for Deputy Gerard, who comes off as a man who’s just trying to do his job. If you love thrillers, The Fugitive is a must-watch.
9
‘Don’t Move’ (2024)
Before he directed Send Help, Raimi served as a producer for a Netflix film that is similar in vibe, but is darker in tone. That move was 2024’s Don’t Move, starring Yellowstone alum Kelsey Asbille as a grieving mother who, after being kidnapped by a serial killer, is injected with a paralytic agent. From there, we spend most of the 92-minute runtime rooting for Asbille’s Iris to escape her captor and get help before the shot takes full effect and her body completely shuts down.
So, just by reading the quick synopsis of Don’t Move, you can already tell that this is a movie that goes to a darker place than Send Help did. This movie is a great example of how to create a high-concept hook, and with the tight pacing, and Asbille’s tremendous job in what must have been a very difficult performance, Don’t Move is a movie that will shock and thrill you for the entire runtime. In fact, before watching Send Help, we highly recommend you watch this film first.
10
‘Pulp Fiction’ (1994)
You can’t be a fan of thrillers, and not be a fan of the 1994 classic Pulp Fiction. We know, it’s technically a black comedy crime film, but there were a lot of moments in this film that will certainly thrill you the same way Send Help does, and add an extra dose on top of it. As great as Quentin Tarantino is, and he’s certainly made a lot of great movies, Pulp Fiction is definitely his magnum opus.
The structure of Pulp Fiction is extremely unique, and one that only Tarantino could create; but to give you a general idea of what the film is about, Pulp Fiction centers on three interwoven storylines that come together to create a satisfying ending. The violence is graphic, the dialogue is quotable and peak cinema. When it comes to crime thrillers, you can’t get any better than Pulp Fiction.

Pat Mahomes Sr. To Remain In Jail Until March, Prosecutors Push For 10 Years In Prison
Patrick Mahomes Sr.
D.A. Pushing For 10-Year Sentence
… After Probation Violation
Published
Patrick Mahomes Sr. will likely be spending his Super Bowl Sunday behind bars — the ex-MLB player will remain in jail until a hearing next month — with prosecutors pushing for him to serve a 10-year prison sentence for violating the terms of his probation.
As we previously reported, the 55-year-old was thrown in jail this week … and now he’s staring down the possibility of up to 10 years in prison.
Mahomes Sr. has been serving five years’ probation after pleading guilty in his 2024 DWI case, but authorities claim he broke the terms of his probation by allegedly drinking alcohol — with the probation violation report stating he had a high reading on his SCRAM alcohol ankle monitor on Jan. 1.
According to court records, Mahomes Sr. was booked into Smith County Jail on Tuesday and is currently being held without bond. Officials say his probation officer was alerted after his alcohol-monitoring ankle device reportedly showed a high reading on New Year’s Day.
The prosecutor also says he failed to perform his community service at the required rate of 3 hours per month for several months.
The probation violation report claims Mahomes Sr. later submitted urine tests on Jan. 5 and Jan. 9, and both reportedly came back negative for alcohol.
Still, it looks like prosecutors are moving forward with the violation claim … and a judge will ultimately decide whether Mahomes Sr. will have his probation revoked and potentially end up behind bars..

2/3/24
As we previously reported, Mahomes has been arrested for DWI at least three times — the most recent coming days before the Super Bowl in 2024, which his son’s Chiefs competed in and won over the San Francisco 49ers.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on March 9, when he’ll have the chance to fight the allegations and try to stay out of prison. The judge ordered him to remain in the Smith County Jail until the hearing.

‘ANTM’ Model Blasts Tyra Banks As A ‘Narcissist’ And ‘Slimy Snake’
Former “America’s Next Top Model” contestant Lisa D’Amato isn’t holding back when it comes to Tyra Banks, branding the iconic supermodel a “narcissist” and firing off warnings about the upcoming Netflix docuseries exploring the show’s place in pop culture history.
Banks has been under fire since audiences began rewatching old seasons of “America’s Next Top Model” during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many social media users called Banks and the producers out for often featuring problematic challenges and for harshly criticizing the contestants’ bodies and personal features.
In the new Netflix docuseries “Reality Check,” Tyra Banks admitted she went “too far” but seemed to place some of the blame for the show’s outrageous antics on its fans, which led to even more pushback across platforms.

Former ‘ANTM’ Contestant Slams ‘Narcissist’ Tyra Banks For Being A ‘Slimy Little Snake’
Speaking with TMZ, “America’s Next Top Model” winner Lisa D’Amato warned potential viewers of “Reality Check” that Banks is a producer on the upcoming series and will try to “soften the truth” of what really went on behind the scenes.
While Banks is not listed as a producer, D’Amato said, “She’s a producer,” before branding her a “narcissist” who won’t take real accountability for the harm she’s allegedly caused people because she doesn’t know how.
“If she was really upset about it, then she wouldn’t still be making millions of dollars because this same franchise is still be licensed in other countries around the globe,” D’Amato said.
And her bold comments didn’t stop there. She went further, blasting Banks as a “slimy little snake.”

D’Amato Says Tyra Banks Rushed To Release Netflix Series Ahead Of Upcoming Tell-All On Rival Network

Elsewhere during her conversation with TMZ, D’Amato claimed the only reason Banks inked a deal with Netflix was that the former Victoria’s Secret model allegedly caught wind that she and other “ANTM” contestants had signed on to be part of a tell-all on the E! Network in March 2026.
D’Amato said the two productions would differ. Netflix would likely focus on on-camera behavior, whereas the E! network would focus on the “psychological warfare that they did to us behind the scenes.”

Tyra Banks Finally Opens Up About ‘ANTM’ Backlash In Netflix Docuseries

According to The Blast, Banks will star in “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model,” premiering on February 16, 2026. The series is said to be reflecting on the modeling competition show’s “complicated history.”
In the teaser, Banks addresses some of the backlash, admitting that she “knew I went too far.” She added, “It was very, very intense, but you guys were demanding it, so we kept pushing it, more and more and more.”
“Reality Check” is directed by Mor Loushy and Daniel Sivan—filmmakers known for their work on the streamer’s “American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden”—and will feature Banks, co-creator Ken Mok, and former judges and contestants.
Social media users clapped back at Banks online after hearing her above comments, accusing the TV personality of “gaslighting.”

Another ‘ANTM’ Contestant Comments On ‘Reality Check’

Season 1 winner Adrianne Curry, however, had different feelings about the series, according to The Blast.
In a social media post, the former reality star called the pushback against Banks and the reality series “absurd.”
She expressed her gratitude for the series and blasted people for “psychoanalyzing” the show “over 20 years later.”
Curry also explained why she wasn’t part of the Netflix series, saying she doesn’t “trust” TV producers and hoped to avoid extra attention.

Banks Commented On Backlash During Previous Event

The Netflix docuseries won’t be the first time that Banks has discussed the backlash against her. At a March 2025 event, Banks fired back at critics, saying she built a show from the ground up to celebrate diversity in an industry that had very little of it.
“To show different beauties at a time when the world was like, ‘What? You casting that? And what? Was it that?’ A time when people in the fashion industry were telling me, ‘You putting the girls from the hood on your show?’ I was like, ‘Why can the girl from the trailer park become a supermodel, but the girl that’s chillin’ in the park in the hood can’t?’ And we fought, and we struggled, and we made it happen,” she said.
She finished with a strong declaration: “… I refuse to have my legacy be about some stuff linked together on the internet when there were 24 [seasons] of changing the world.”

Middle School Counselor Dead After Inappropriate Messages Sent to Teen
A middle school counselor in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has been found dead after he was accused of allegedly inappropriately messaging a former 14-year-old student.
Police confirmed that Quinton Dixon was found dead at the age of 44 of an apparent suicide in an unused building at Glen Oaks Middle School on January 28, according to People.
Dixon’s death came two weeks after he had been placed on administrative leave from his job at Westdale Middle Magnet School. While he was on leave, an investigation was launched into the allegations made against him.
In January, he was accused of messaging the teenage girl via Instagram between November 2025 and January 2026.
A warrant was filed in late January for his arrest on four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, according to court records viewed by People.
The girl recounted to police that she came into contact with an adult male counselor from her former middle school. She said that he stopped his car next to hers and told her she looked familiar. She then told police that they briefly spoke before he asked her for her phone number or Instagram profile.
After she shared her Instagram information, she said she started to receive likes and messages from the man on Instagram.
The girl also told police that the man’s name was Dixon, adding that he said he coached the football team at the high school she is currently a student at. The victim also told police that Dixon allegedly called her “fire” and that he never forgot about her after she graduated from middle school.
Police investigated the messages exchanged between Dixon and the student, which they characterized as being “consistent with grooming behavior in pursuit of an intimate relationship with the minor victim,” according to the warrant.
The warrant added that Dixon likely started talking to the girl on November 10, 2025, when he allegedly asked her about her sexual orientation in response to a photo of her with a female friend. The warrant also alleged that he asked the girl where she lives and offered to give her a ride home several times.
Following Dixon’s death, a spokesperson for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System told WBRZ that they were aware of the employee’s passing.
“We extend our condolences to the school community, family and loved ones as they process this information during this difficult time,” the spokesperson said in the statement.
Redell Norman, who attended Glen Oaks and coached football with Dixon, also opened up about his passing.
“It’s unfortunate the circumstances of his untimely demise, but yes, I did know him and the situation is just so unfortunate, we just got to pray for everybody,” he told the outlet.
Meanwhile, a resident of the area said that the situation as a whole was upsetting. “It’s tragic all the way around, something that you really can’t explain about,” the person said.
The Baton Rouge Police Department did not immediately respond to Us Weekly’s request for comment regarding Dixon’s arrest.

There Will Be A Lot Of ‘Garage Beer’ At Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift’s Wedding Reception, NFL Star Reveals

Not much is known about the upcoming nuptials between Kelce and Swift, but the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end has now weighed in on what can be expected.
The lovebirds started dating in the summer of 2023 and got engaged in an intimate manner in August of last year.
They’ve remained low-key on their wedding plans ever since then as the football star endured a disappointing season with the Chiefs.
While entering the venue for his “New Heights” podcast’s Super Bowl party on Wednesday, Kelce implied that there would be a massive amount of beer at his and Swift’s wedding after being asked by a TMZ reporter, “How many kegs of Garage Beer will be at that reception?”
In response, he said, “Man, I can’t even count that high.”

The Singer Is Trying To Put Travis Kelce In A ‘Better Mood’ Following His Disappointing Season

Kelce taking part in the pre-Super Bowl festivities seems a little bit off, as he’s used to playing football’s biggest game over the last couple of years.
He and his teammates at the Kansas City Chiefs have appeared in five Super Bowls since 2019 and have been victorious in three: LIV, LVII, and LVIII.
However, this season was quite a disappointing one for his team as they endured a run of dismal performance, which eventually led to rumors about the football star’s retirement.
Due to the Chief’s loss, reports suggested that Kelce and Swift were facing their “first real test” in their relationship as uncertainty around the football player’s future continues to raise eyebrows, prompting the “Bad Blood” singer to shift focus away from the wedding plans.

An insider told the Daily Mail that Swift is “trying to put him in a better mood by spending more time with him and not bombarding him with wedding plans.”
They added: “She would want him to focus on [the wedding] after he makes his career decision because she knows how important that is to him.”

Taylor Swift Sees This Phase As Their ‘First Real Test’

The couple has remained supportive of each other since they went public with their romance a couple of years ago.
Kelce has previously joined in to support her on her Eras world tour, while she has returned the favor several times as she joined other fans to cheer him up at the games.
However, the insider went further to add that the “Fate Of Ophelia” singer sees this phase as the “first real test of their relationship,” and is seemingly putting effort into keeping things Rock solid.
Kelce is expected to make a decision on his future soon, but the insider shared that he may ultimately decide to return as he misses taking to the pitch.
“He is used to still be playing, and he is missing not being on the field,” the source explained.
“We will know a few weeks after the Super Bowl if he will be returning or not. That is his timeline that he has set to make a decision to play one more year or not,” the insider added.

The Singer Is Gradually Building Bridal Train

Meanwhile, the Grammy winner has reportedly been making plans behind the scenes on how she wants to turn out and what she wants her big day to look like.
Reports claim the singer has already extended an invitation to her model friend Gigi Hadid to join her bridal train, and she was “thrilled” about it. She has also invited singer and friend Selena Gomez, who recently tied the knot with lover Benny Blanco.
“Taylor wants to start the wedding process this way — building her bridesmaid group and getting everyone involved in the preparations, celebrations, and planning,” a source said.
“She wants it to be fun and memorable for everyone, with parties, trips, and time spent together leading up to the big day,” they added.
Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Are Still ‘Savoring’ Their Engagement

Amid rumors that Swift and Kelce have put their wedding plans “on hold” to focus on other matters, sources shared that the couple is still “savoring” their engagement and taking things slow with their nuptials.
“Taylor is usually so meticulous about every detail, but with Travis, she’s relaxed. They’re taking it slow. The wedding isn’t stressing them out yet — they’re savoring the engagement,” a source said, per The Blast.
“The ring’s on, but that’s about as far as it goes,” an alleged close friend shared. “No big meetings, no seating charts. They’re in date-night mode, not wedding mode.”

GloRilla’s Sister Claims the Rapper Won’t Help Provide for Their Family
GloRilla’ Sister
You Found Success …
But You Forgot All About Our Family!
Published
TMZ.com
GloRilla‘s made a point of showing off how she’s provided for her family over the years … but her sister, Scar Face Woods, is calling her out, telling us the rapper’s left her loved ones high and dry!
Scar Face joined us on “TMZ Live” and spoke her mind about what she calls GloRilla’s unwillingness to help out the family she struggled with before her rise to stardom. The rapper’s shown off flashy gifts she’s bought for her parents in the past — like a Jaguar for her retiring dad last year … which Scar disputes ever happened!
Scar Face told us GloRilla — born Gloria Woods — has an obligation to break off a chunk of change for her family every now and then … but Scar says Glo’s focused on paying the way for a few of her close friends, while their mom busts her butt working at FedEx — even after Glo’s claimed she helped her parents retire.
Watch the clip … when we asked Scar Face for a dollar amount to fix things up between the rapper and her loved ones, she listed a much lower figure than expected … which, to a millionaire like GloRilla, wouldn’t likely break the bank.
ICYMI … Scar Face went off on GloRilla on Facebook Wednesday challenging her sis for not taking care of the fam … Scar claimed she recently had to cover $1,800 of their mother’s rent herself.
Glorilla seemed to respond to the accusations by posting screenshots Wednesday of a text conversation with someone who appeared to be her mother on her Instagram Story … including “When I become a millionaire, I GOT YOU!!! Meanwhile I’ll prayerfully keep you in God’s hands continually.”
Scar Face reposted the screenshot on Instagram and questioned whether the texts are legit … given how neither a time nor date were shown in the photo.
TMZ’s reached out to GloRilla’s team for comment … so far, no word back.

FBI Arrests L.A. Man Who Allegedly Sent Nancy Guthrie Family Bitcoin Texts
Nancy Guthrie Abduction
Feds Arrest Man Who Allegedly Texted Family About Bitcoin
Published
Finally, an arrest in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping, but it’s not one of her captors … it’s a guy the feds claim sent text messages to Nancy’s family asking them about bitcoin … and the FBI says they don’t believe the guy has any connection to the ransom note.
According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the feds say a Los Angeles man named Derrick Callella texted Nancy’s daughter Annie and her son-in-law Tommaso Cioni, “Did you get the bitcoin were [sic] waiting on our end for the transaction.”
FOX 10 Phoenix
The FBI says the texts were sent Wednesday, shortly after ‘TODAY’ anchor Savannah Guthrie uploaded a video of her siblings making a plea to Nancy’s captors. In the video, Savannah mentioned the ransom note, begged for proof of life and said they were ready to talk.
TMZ was sent a ransom note on Tuesday that demanded millions of dollars in bitcoin in exchange for Nancy’s safe return and set two deadlines … we forwarded the note to law enforcement and now the FBI is divulging certain details from the note.
TMZ.com
To be clear … in the criminal complaint against Callella, the FBI says the text messages he allegedly sent Nancy’s family have NOT been linked to the ransom demand.
The feds say Callella used a virtual phone number to send the text messages … the FBI says the number he used was registered to an email account using his first and last name, and records indicated the virtual phone number was accessed from an IP address associated with his California residence.
Instagram / @savannahguthrie
Callella, according to the FBI, admitted to sending the two text messages and told investigators he pulled family information from a cyber website and had been following the Guthrie kidnapping in the media.
The feds say Callella told them he sent the texts to see if the family would respond … and the FBI says data shows that he also called a Guthrie family member 3 minutes after sending the texts and that the call lasted 9 seconds.
