7 Netflix Shows Where Every Episode Is a Masterpiece
Content Warning: The following list contains brief mentions of domestic violence and abuse. It is truly a rarity to find a television show in which every single episode is made to perfection. Even some of TV’s greatest shows of all time have a couple of episodes that will make you ask “why did they even air that?” So, taking on the task of finding the Netflix shows in which every episode is perfect was no easy task. It relied on a lot of research, from scouring Reddit boards to relying on our own TV knowledge. It took time, but we managed to craft a list of shows with nary a bad episode.
Whether it’s a limited series that never overstayed its welcome, or a sprawling comedy drama that has a gripping hold on throughout its entire run, these Netflix shows have done the seemingly impossible: produce an entire series in which every episode is a masterpiece. You don’t believe us? That’s OK, as once you reach the end of this story, you’ll come to the same conclusion that we did: these Netflix shows represent the pinnacle of the streaming service’s storytelling.
‘The Haunting of Hill House’ (2018)
In 2018, Netflix viewers were invited into a creepy manor with all sorts of supernatural unease. The Haunting of Hill House, created by Mike Flanagan, kickstarted the service’s Haunting anthology, and it started on a very strong note. The miniseries takes place over two timelines, one from 1992 and another in the present day, with the central figure being Hill House, a large, eerie mansion that haunts the Crain family.
While the series certainly has its terrifying moments, The Haunting of Hill House is a lot more than a regular show about a haunted house. Flanagan takes the trope and goes deeper with it, making it more of a character-driven family drama with some truly emotional moments. It uses Hill House to expose the emotional trauma that the Crain family struggles to cope with. The ghosts in the series aren’t just to make the viewer jump out of their seats, but they’re used as metaphors for grief, regret and mental illness. With complex characters and production that is as close to perfect as one could get, each episode of The Haunting of Hill House builds to a finale that lands the story perfectly. While every series in Flanagan’s Haunting anthology was top-notch, The Haunting of Hill House is, by all intentions of the word, a masterclass in how to tell a haunted house story.
‘The Queen’s Gambit’ (2020)
On the surface, The Queen’s Gambit is a miniseries that never should have worked. Besides, the main premise of the show revolves around a chess player, and who would want to watch a show based on someone playing one of the most boring games on Earth? Well, if you think this way, you’re missing out on one of the best Netflix miniseries ever created. The coming-of-age period drama created by Scott Frank and Allan Scott follows the life of Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor-Joy), a chess prodigy who becomes one of the best players in the world. But, beneath the surface, Harmon struggles with alcohol and drug addiction, and she has to battle these demons while preparing for a major chess tournament in Moscow.
Every episode of The Queen’s Gambit was terrific, and this was due to the impeccable pacing and structure of the series. Watching it all the way, you’ll get the feeling that you’re watching a seven-hour movie with a very clear, resonant ending. Because the creators and writers knew where to go with the story, and how to end it, there were essentially no filler episodes within the series, which makes the entire show such a satisfying watch. Add in the mesmerizing performance of Taylor-Joy, and you have a miniseries that should not be slept on.
‘When They See Us’ (2019)
In 1989, five Black and Latino teens were falsely accused of assaulting a white woman in Central Park. Known as the Central Park Five, their conviction was vacated in 2002, and they were awarded a settlement from the city of New York in 2014 after suing the city for wrongful conviction. The plight of the Central Park Five ignited tough conversations around racial bias, media sensationalism, and the criminalization of people of color, especially after the release of the 2019 miniseries When They See Us.
Created by Ava DuVernay, the miniseries tells the story of the Central Park Five and their wrongful conviction through the experiences of the victims, which forced the viewers to look at the wrongfully accused not as a group of kids, but as individuals who were worthy of justice and empathy from viewers. Each episode will take viewers through a range of emotions, from anger to sadness, and, in the end, tempered redemption for the five kids who were essentially railroaded by the judicial system. When They See Us was a significant achievement on television, daring to question how racial bias and the media also play a part in painting the narrative that people of color are criminals, along with a justice system all-to-eager to accept that narrative. When They See Us is more than the perfect Netflix show, it is basically essential viewing.
‘Maid’ (2021)
One of the best attributes about Netflix original series is its ability to tell serious stories in an unfiltered and honest way. We saw this in 2019 with the brilliant When They See Us, and again two years later, with Netflix premiering Maid, created by Molly Smith Metzler and inspired by the 2019 novel of the same name written by Stephanie Land. The miniseries followers Alexandra “Alex” Russell (Margaret Qualley), a young mom who leaves her abusive boyfriend and takes a job working as a maid.
We’re going to be honest here. Maid can be a hard watch at times, especially the way it honestly portrays domestic abuse, which isn’t always physical, and it answers the long-complex question of why victims struggle to leave their abusers. Not only that, but Maid also highlights “invisible” poverty, the people who struggle to stay afloat, and how just one minor setback can cause someone to lose everything. To tell its gut-wrenching story, Maid uses innovative storytelling to describe Alex’s plight, which lets us see things from her inner perspective. While Maid is a tough watch at times, it’s also a show that is a masterpiece at telling complex, difficult stories.
‘Beef’ (2023–Present)
We all see comedy as a pressure relief from the arduous daily task of life, and it was used brilliantly in the 2023 anthology series Beef. Created by Lee Sung Jin, Beef follows two people who begin to feud after a road rage incident. While this is a simple black comedy on the surface, it’s what lies beneath the comedy that makes Beef a gold-standard when it comes to the perfect Netflix show.
The best aspect to Beef is its tight storytelling, with each of the series’ 10 episodes packed with character arcs that have a significant impact on the overall storyline. Even the minor characters in each episode play a part in the overall feud between Danny Cho (Steven Yeun) and Amy Lau (Ali Wong), with each episode escalating the feud and showing how it quickly spirals out of control.
The writers use the feud between Danny and Amy to masterfully showcase the Asian-American experience, exploring issues such as class status, immigration, and family expectations, and they did this without casting a monolithic net over the race. This makes the audience understand the pressures Amy and Danny are going through, and also helps to understand why a simple road rage incident spiraled downhill so quickly. It’s a show that tackles existential emptiness when compounded with the pressures of material success, and how it contributes to the overwhelming rage that we feel in society today. They do all of this without sacrificing the comedy, a chef’s kiss to a brilliant series.
‘Dark’ (2017–2020)
A great story arc commands you to pay attention to each element in each episode. Each show that we’ve discussed so far in this piece has been a miniseries, where it can be easy to accomplish in just a 10-episode run. But, here’s a show that manages to not have a single filler episode over a three-season span. We’re talking, of course, about Dark, one of the best series not just in Netflix history, but in TV history as a whole, and we’re very serious about this claim.
Created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, Dark follows four families as they search for what happened to a kid who disappeared from a small German town, only to discover something truly sinister has been happening in the town over generations. To be honest, the storyline of Dark could have easily been condensed into a single miniseries, but by fleshing the story out over three seasons, it allowed it to be expanded and avoid the plotholes that could have befallen it if it was made as just a miniseries. The story of Dark is very complex, but the writers flawlessly executed the story. They knew how the story would be told and how it would end, and they didn’t deviate from this plan, and the end result is a masterpiece of epic proportions. The moody atmosphere, the exceptional acting, and a complex story that keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat throughout its run? What more could you ask for?
‘Arcane’ (2021–2024)
When discussing the best Netflix shows in which every episode is absolutely perfect, you can’t have that conversation and leave Arcane off the list. Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, the animated steampunk sci-fi is, arguably, one of the most jaw-dropping achievements in modern animation. Much like Dark, the story of Arcane is more complex than what the synopsis says it’s about. On the surface, it’s a story about two sisters who get tangled in a conflict between the poor underbelly of Zaun and the more prosperous city of Piltover. If you go off of the synopsis of the series, you’ll think Arcane is a straight-forward show, but it’s much, much deeper than that, and that’s what makes it such a compelling show.
The main reason why Arcane is such a perfect show is the way it tells its story. Rather than “telling” the story through its characters, it shows you how everything unfolds, using stunning camera work, lighting, and an innovative pace to fully immerse the viewers into the world Arcane has created. Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without an animation style that is distinct and truly revolutionary, making each episode of Arcane feel more like a cinematic event than a typical Netflix show. That’s the beauty of the show as a whole, as it doesn’t feel like you’re watching a TV show; you’re basically watching a movie broken up into 18 episodes. Every episode in Arcane was simply perfection, and it would be a tough sell for another animated show to come close to what this series created.

Euphoria’s Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje on If Maddy, Alamo Had Sex
Euphoria left viewers with so many questions throughout season 3, including whether Maddy and Alamo actually had sex — which Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is finally addressing.
“It was an interesting scene because it’s so layered. It’s very loaded,” Akinnuoye-Agbaje, 58, exclusively told Us Weekly at the MPTF NextGen Summer Party, which was presented by Delta Air Lines and Waymo, on Sunday, May 31.
Akinnuoye-Agbaje pointed out that his character, Alamo, “had orchestrated the whole sequence” between him and Maddy (Alexa Demie).
“From the bathing suit to the music to the champagne, he knew exactly what he was going to do,” he explained. “So myself and Yana Grebenyuk Sam [Levinson], we discussed that. And whilst it was going to be flirtatious from Alamo’s perspective — and playful — there’s an ominous reality that, you know, you’re going to do what I tell you to do now.”
Akinnuoye-Agbaje continued: “To answer your question, did he sleep with her? Well, he was not there to play with her toes. For what she’s asking him to do — take out a life and give a million dollars — yeah, he most definitely did what he needed to do with that beautiful lady.”
The confusion originally started after a May episode of the hit HBO show had Alamo make Maddy put on a bathing suit and get in a hot tub with him. He ultimately agreed to help Maddy get the $1 million needed to save Nate (Jacob Elordi), but the scene cut off before the rest of their interaction was shown.

In the season 3 finale, which aired on Sunday, Maddy visited Alamo at his strip club, where he contemplated his life choices. He also made a move on Maddie while proposing they have four kids together. Alamo started to touch Maddy — who got on his lap — before the scene cut out again amid an implied but unseen kiss.
Alamo’s conversation with Maddy didn’t last long, however, because Ali (Colman Domingo) arrived to avenge Rue’s (Zendaya) death.
While speaking to Us at the annual fundraiser, Akinnuoye-Agbaje addressed possible backlash toward Alamo’s involvement in Rue’s fatal overdose.
“Look, it’s a voracious fan base. It’s really their show,” he said. “It preceded me. I’ve done my part. Whatever they say and do is their part, so that’s where I leave it.”
Akinnuoye-Agbaje then weighed in on the possibility of Euphoria continuing with more seasons — despite Levinson confirming the show is over.
“The beautiful thing about Euphoria is — first of all — this incredible performance that Zendaya has done. She narrates the show and we’ve seen it largely through her perspective,” he noted. “One of the beautiful things is that [her death] opens it up to the perspective of so many of the other characters. Whether they’re within Rue’s group and vicinity, you have Laurie’s gang and you have Alamo’s gang and you have Rue’s friends. There’s room to explore those backstories, those relationships and those adventures that they would have.”
He concluded: “This is TV. There’s always a world in which it could — if they wanted to — [they could explore the world more]. Whether they want to or not … I don’t know.”
Euphoria is currently streaming on HBO Max.

Sam Levinson Praises Sydney Sweeney After Euphoria Finale
Sydney Sweeney didn’t want to “skirt around” any nudity when it came to her Euphoria season 3 story line, according to the show’s creator, Sam Levinson.
“When I first wrote it … I thought, ‘Well, maybe, we shoot all of this, and we don’t have any nudity,’” Levinson, 41, said during the Monday, June 1, episode of The New York Times’ “Popcast” podcast. “I was talking to her about, maybe, there’s ways to shoot around certain [things] — and she looked at me, and she’s like, ‘Are you kidding? I’m playing an OnlyFans model.’”
Levinson made it clear that he “always” has a discussion with actors about “what works best for the character.” Sweeney, 28, wasn’t afraid to take any risks.
“I think she’s a totally fearless actor. She’s also just wonderfully professional, and shows up just game every day,” he continued. “I adore working with her, because there’s such a flexibility in terms of the performance.”

Levinson said there’s “a lot of trust” between him and Sweeney.
“I can say, ‘Why don’t we try this scene just a little crazier, with a little more humor.’ Suddenly, this whole other version of the scene can come out just based on her performance,” he added. “We’re tackling this world of OnlyFans where women are being paid to whisper into an ear-shaped microphone and lick it. There is a level of absurdity to it that is just fun.”
While other story lines had a more definitive end during the Sunday, May 31, season finale, Sweeney’s was left open-ended with her final scene taking place alongside Maude Apatow. Cassie (Sweeney) was washing her sex toys while her sister, Lexi (Apatow), got emotional over Rue’s (Zendaya) death.
Ahead of Sunday’s episode, Sweeney took to Instagram with several behind-the-scenes photos from the show’s final season.
“It’s called… acting,” she captioned the post, which included a nearly nude photo. (Sweeney’s topless scenes received widespread criticism throughout the season.)
Levison previously addressed fan backlash to Sweeney’s NSFW story line during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in April.
“[Cassie] has got her dog house and her little dog ears and the nose, and that has its own humor,” he said at the time. “But what makes the scene is the fact that her housekeeper is the one filming it.”
He added, “What we wanted to always find is the other layer of absurdity that we’re able to tie into it so that we’re not too inside of her fantasy or illusion. The gag is to jump out, to break the wall.”

Whether it be lingering post-acne marks, sun spots or pesky discoloration, an uneven skin tone can be surprisingly difficult to treat. Designed to target discoloration from multiple angles, the lightweight formula combines four dermatologist-loved brightening ingredients to help reveal a more radiant complexion over time.
At the heart of the Even Tone Serum is 4% niacinamide, a multitasking ingredient known for improving skin tone, strengthening the skin barrier, and minimizing the appearance of pores. It works alongside 3% tranexamic acid for stubborn discoloration and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Alpha-arbutin and azelaic acid are also superstars in the formula, helping refine texture. Together, these ingredients help visibly reduce the appearance of hard-to-treat dark spots and general unevenness.

Incorporating the Even Tone Serum into your routine is seamless. After cleansing, apply one to two pumps on dry skin before moisturizer. The texture layers nicely underneath other skincare products, making it suitable for both morning and evening use.
It also absorbs into the skin quickly without leaving behind a tacky film. Makeup lovers will appreciate that it doesn’t pill underneath products, a common complaint with some brightening treatments. Instead, skin feels hydrated and comfortable after application.
Plus, the Even Tone Serum iis suitable for all skin types — yes, sensitive skin included. Whether you lean dry, oily or combination, it feels comfortable without stinging, burning or feeling heavy. Because the formula focuses on brightening ingredients rather than aggressive exfoliants, it’s also a gentler option for anyone looking to address discoloration without compromising their skin barrier.

Who Is Dua Lipa’s Husband? What to Know About Callum Turner
Callum Turner has left his mark on the big screen — but also on Dua Lipa’s heart.
The couple first sparked romance rumors in January 2024 when they were spotted cozying up together at an event. Turner kept things on the low-key side initially, offering a “no comment” when asked about their relationship status.
Lipa confirmed in July 2025 that she and Turner were engaged after months of speculation.
“It’s very exciting,” she gushed. “This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever — it’s a really special feeling.”
News broke in May 2026 that Turner and Lipa had tied the knot in an intimate London ceremony. Photos obtained by multiple outlets showed the couple looking happy as they exited Old Marylebone Town Hall.
While Turner made a name for himself before he started dating Lipa, being connected to the singer has skyrocketed his fame.

Does Callum Turner Talk About His Mental Health?
“I try to break the pattern of being self-destructive every day,” Turner discussed with the Independent in February 2020.
The BAFTA nominee referred to himself as “a big stoner,” as he noted that a “determination to change and not miss my life” convinced him to stop smoking.
Where Did Callum Turner Go to School?
Turner left school at 16 after he started questioning what he wanted his career to be. Since he knew he didn’t want to be anything that was being taught to him, he chose to try a different approach.
“I was naughty, but within reason. I wasn’t mean, but I was a bit of a class clown. I was in all the lowest sets, but not because I couldn’t do it – because I didn’t want to do it,” he told the Independent about his time as a student.
When Did Callum Turner Start Acting?
Turner decided to try to play for a semi-professional football team after he left school, but he quickly realized that wasn’t the right choice for him.
“I’m not a professional athlete. Very simple. I was incredibly dedicated, I just wasn’t a footballer,” he added during his discussion with the Independent.
Who Are Callum Turner’s Parents?
The War and Peace alum previously spoke about how his “brilliant” mother, Rosemary Turner, led him to the acting world and how her job as a nightclub promoter offered him a unique outlook.
“My mum allowed a community of people around me and wasn’t protective of her love for me,” he shared with the Independent. “It was almost like a tribe.”
Does Callum Turner Have an Instagram Account?
“I don’t go to events and I don’t have Instagram,” Turner revealed in February 2020. “I have a pretty low-key life and I enjoy that, but also I love acting.”

Daphne Joy Reacts To Viral Intimate Video Of Her, Diddy & Escort
Daphne Joy is trending on social media platforms after a video surfaced of her, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, and an alleged male escort engaging in a sexual act. Combs and the escort, believed to be Sly Diggler, have not addressed the viral tape. However, Daphne briefly broke her silence in a now-deleted statement.

Daphne Joy Says She Did Not Consent To Being Filmed, Describes Pain Of Reliving Her “Abuse”
As mentioned, the intimate tape shows Joy, Diddy and Sly Digger nude and involved sexually. It’s unclear who first leaked it or why. Amid the tape going viral, DJ Vlad confirmed its validity, revealing a previous interview with Sly.
The following statement first appeared on Daphne Joy’s Instagram Stories. Sometime after being posted for at least 43 minutes, the statement was seemingly deleted. However, The Shade Room can confirm its validity. The lengthy statement opens with Daphne saying, “Everybody plays the fool sometimes, and I have been the biggest fool.” She admitted that at the time of the tape she wanted her man to “be happy and satisfied” by fulfilling all his desires, regardless if it cost her boundaries.
“I deeply loved him and I believed he loved me too…It’s still so painful for me to process the harsh reality and truth of that relationship…but as time passes and in my quiet moments…I realize that it was far from love,” Joy wrote.
Daphne clarified that she “never consented” to filming the now-viral intimate tape. She alleged that “the person in the video” previously blackmailed her, requesting money and threatening to leak the footage. She did not clarify whether “the person” she referred to was Diddy or the alleged male escort, Sly Diggler. Daphne Joy said the man eventually sold the tape to “a giant media outlet,” who reached out to her for comment on it. After informing them that the tape was “revenge porn and an extortion scheme,” the media company allegedly backed off. “…I know they are probably reading this and I want to say thank you for doing the right thing…even though years later..it’s come back to haunt me again,” she wrote.
Additionally, Daphne Joy admitted that it took her “all day to find the courage to rewatch [her] abuse.” She said watching the intimate video was triggering and painful, citing the “inner turmoil and pressures” she felt in such moments.
“I was not and was never in my right mind throughout the entirety of that relationship…seeing myself so lost is excruciating. I just want to hold that girl in that room and get her out of there…and tell her that wasn’t love and she didn’t need to do this for love. My heart is breaking as I type this. I wish so many things were different but I can’t take back the hands of time.”
SWIPE BELOW TO SEE HER ENTIRE STATEMENT.
Is “Jane” Daphne? The Internet Seems To Think So
This intimate tape comes nearly a year after “Jane,” an ex-girlfriend of Combs, began testimony against him on June 5, 2025. During the trial, the father of Daphne Joy’s son, social media users and bloggers have speculated that she was the anonymous witness known as “Jane.” However, neither Daphne nor her legal team has ever confirmed whether she was the witness in question.
On the stand, “Jane” described a romantic relationship that began in 2021. Ultimately, she became financially dependent on him, including the funding of her living space. She shared that their intimate encounters often involved other men and “hotel nights,” otherwise known as “freak-offs,” and heavy drug consumption, supplemented by Diddy. One encounter involved sexual acts with three men back-to-back and another encounter in 2022 allegedly lasted three and a half days, per “Jane.” At first, she said, she gave subtle clues that she didn’t want to participate before later voicing it. One text she sent Combs was read in court and said:
“I’m so much more than being left in the dark of a hotel room. My heart is breaking. I don’t want to play this role in your life anymore. It’s dark, sleazy and makes me feel disgusted with myself. It’s the only reason you have me around and why you pay for my house. I don’t want to feel obligated to perform and fear losing you…I just want to talk like adults and figure where we go from here.”
Again, Daphne Joy has never publicly identified herself as the witness “Jane” or addressed the speculations.
Daphne Joy Previously Called Diddy Her “Favorite Person”
Back in November 2022, Joy turned heads when she publicly attached herself to Diddy. Around this time, he was openly kicking it with Yung Miami, a.k.a. his Shawty Wop. Especially at his 53rd birthday bash. While he was partying with Caresha and thanking her for her love, Daphne Joy took to the internet with birthday tributes. She shared one photo of them, with Combs facing away from the camera and captioned it, “Happy Birthday to my favorite person @diddy.” Then, in another post on Instagram Stories, she shared a photo of her and Combs in the ocean with the caption, “Blessed.”
