Gerard Butlerstarred in the highest-grossing movie of his career — the live-action How to Train Your Dragon remake — only last year, but he has had an uneven run at the box office ever since. Earlier this year, he headlined Greenland 2: Migration, which grossed only $45 million worldwide against a reported budget of $90 million. He also appeared in the star-studded Netflix drama In the Hand of Dante, a critically panned festival movie that was quietly released on the streamer some weeks ago. Even though he hasn’t headlined a box-office hit in a while, Butler is known to attract large audiences at home. This is among the key reasons why sequels to Greenland and Den of Thieves were green-lit in the first place. Not to mention the multiple Has Fallen movies that he has starred in. Now, one of his earliest vehicles as an action star is streaming for free.
The movie in question debuted theatrically in 2009, just a few years after Butler became a household name thanks to 300 and P.S. I Love You. The 2009 film takes place in a dystopian future not unlike the one we saw in Ready Player One, but instead of humans living as digital avatars in a virtual world, it follows actual people who are controlled by others in an online game. It’s like The Hunger Games, if Katniss were being controlled by another person. The movie also involved a time-loop plot reminiscent of Edge of Tomorrow, where Butler’s character is made to navigate a “map” over and over until he wins.

Married at First Sight UK star Holly Ditchfield has announced the death of her premature twin boys just nine days after their births.
“My beautiful boys, Georgie & Marley 🤍🕊️,” Ditchfield wrote via Instagram on Saturday, September 5, alongside a black-and-white photo with partner Aaron Summers from the hospital. “It has been the hardest, most heartbreaking, yet most magical 9 days of our lives. At 1pm on 03/09/2026, our darling Georgie peacefully passed away. Then, at 5am on 04/09/2026, his beautiful brother Marley followed him. 💔.”
She continued, “My boys both took their final breaths in the arms of me and their daddy. There is no greater privilege, and no greater pain, than holding your children as they leave this world. They gave us the most precious week of our lives. A week I would live over and over again, just to have those moments with them. To hold them. To look at them. To love them. To be their mummy and daddy.”
Ditchfield noted that her boys are “together again now, just as they should be” and she prays that they are “finally at peace.”

Washington Irving‘s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a classic American Halloween tale, although the holiday is not mentioned in its pages; in fact, Halloween wasn’t widely celebrated in North America until long after Irving’s death. Nevertheless, the short story’s eerie and autumnal vibes have made it a seasonal favorite. Now, another interpretation of the tale is in the works, with Sydney Sweeney attached to star and produce; and while you wait for it to emerge from the darkened woods, another classic adaptation is now available to watch for free.
Hollowis a new take on the tale, based on the debut novel by filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines), which is set to be released in the spring of 2027. Beer is adapting and directing her own novel, which will center around Katrina Van Tassel (Sweeney). A resident of the upstate New York hamlet of Sleepy Hollow in the late 18th century, Van Tassel finds herself being auctioned off for marriage to settle her family’s debts. Two suitors emerge: the brash Brom Bones and the intellectual Ichabod Crane. She soon finds herself in a love triangle, which is complicated by the hellish Headless Horseman, who’s begun lopping off heads left and right. Hollow is currently in development, and has not yet begun production.
While you wait, however, you can see the revisionist Irving adaptation that set the stage for Hollow, and you won’t lose your head over its cost. Sleepy Hollow, Tim Burton‘s Gothic interpretation of the story, is now streaming for free on the ad-supported streamer Tubi. Johnny Depp stars as Ichabod Crane, a detective who’s been dispatched to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the spate of beheadings that’s bedeviling the small town. He falls in love with local Katrina Van Tassel (Christina Ricci), only to learn that she’s connected to the true culprit: the Headless Horseman (Christopher Walken), an undead Hessian mercenary who’s at the beck and call of a mysterious puppet master.

A Spider-Man suit worn by Andrew Garfield during the production of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has found a new owner, and the final price is surprisingly affordable for a piece of superhero movie history.
The costume sold at auction for just $2,650, before the addition of a 25 percent buyer’s premium. The auction closed on September 1.
While that might sound like an absolute steal for an authentic Andrew Garfield Spider-Man costume, there is a reason it didn’t command the six-figure price sometimes associated with screen-used superhero memorabilia.
The suit was a production-worn practice suit rather than one of the hero costumes featured on camera in the finished 2014 film.

Garfield wore the costume during production for rehearsals, stunt preparation and camera blocking. Practice suits allow actors, stunt performers and filmmakers to plan complicated action sequences without risking damage to the considerably more expensive costumes intended for principal photography.
That distinction dramatically affects its value to collectors, but it doesn’t change the fact that the costume was actually used during the making of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and worn by Garfield himself.

Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man 2 costume remains particularly popular among fans. The redesigned red-and-blue suit introduced in the sequel moved away from the look of Garfield’s first film and delivered a design much closer to Spider-Man’s traditional comic book appearance.

As NCIScontinues to air, fans of the series are all missing the void left by the most iconic and important character from the show. At the conclusion of Season 19, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, the supervisory special agent played by Mark Harmon, bid farewell to the agency with a retirement to idyllic Alaska. The significance of this departure could not be understated: Harmon was one of two original regular cast members to complete 19 seasons and was the foundation around which the rest of the show was built. Gibbs first appeared in the backdoor pilot for NCIS in 2003 as part of the JAG series and has appeared in every season since.
Although Harmon’s position as leader has been replaced by Alden Parker (Gary Cole), the show doesn’t feel quite the same. Shows that have aired for so many years are destined to evolve, but sometimes those changes aren’t for the better. Jethro Gibbs Was the Leader Who Set the Tone of the Flagship Series
One of the defining features of the NCIS franchise is the variety of demeanors between its characters across different spin-off series. There are definitive tone setters for each version of NCIS, and for the original series, that job was handled by Jethro Gibbs. NCIS: LAis set in Los Angeles, so the team interrogates suspects in a boathouse, is based in an open-air Spanish-style building, and features a former LAPD liaison as one of their prominent characters. Compared to the original, their characters are more laid-back and casual. This NCIS is based out of Washington D.C., a setting of paramount importance to the national safety these agents are meant to protect. Jethro Gibbs was the leader of that team for two decades and was the only character on the show who could truly embody everything that made the original NCIS unique to its spin-offs.
Gibbs’ character was the textbook definition of an NCIS agent— or at least the perfect version of an agent for viewers to engage with. He was incredibly effective in his job but had little patience for bureaucratic nonsense. He was patient with his squad, but held them to high standards and showed little weakness. He had a complex, tragic past but forged ahead to make sure justice was attained. The layers and depths of Gibbs set the tone for the intricate, engaging narrative arcs and relationships. He was not only the leader of the team but the backbone of the entire series.

Is Gibbs Coming Out of Retirement?
However, saying that Gibbs is the only important member of the DC-based team would be doing a disservice to Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), who has been a series regular since its second season. Characters like Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) have both found a place in the hearts of fans since their arrival in Season 14 and Season 18, respectively. Although NCIS has found some stability since the departure of Gibbs, the franchise still seems to be missing the rudder that kept the show focused for so long.
Thankfully, for those who want more of Gibbs, NCIS: Origins follows Gibbs’ early life as an agent, with Austin Stowell playing his younger self. Though the show still follows Gibbs’ past, Season 3 of Origins has confirmed that Harmon will be featured prominently in the show. Showrunner David J. North hinted that after everything that’s happened, Gibbs might be coming out of retirement. And with the events of the present day confirmed to be tied to the events in the 90s, perhaps Gibbs’ departure from NCIS is no longer a permanent one.
