There’s a long list of Apple TV shows waiting to be explored, but choosing the best ones is always a challenge — not because the platform lacks options, but because nearly all of them are worth watching. The numbers speak for themselves: in 2025 alone, Apple TV had a record-breaking year, winning a whopping 22 Emmy Awards. The year prior, the platform took home 13 Emmys, further cementing its reputation as one of streaming’s most consistent hitmakers.

Whether you are looking for a wholesome comfort watch or a mind-bending sci-fi thought-provoker, the platform has something to offer. Without further ado, here are the seven greatest Apple TV+ series you will wish you had watched sooner.

‘Shrinking’ (2023–Present)

Grief does the craziest things to people — and people do the craziest things when they’re grieving. Shrinking introduces audiences to the widowed Jimmy Laird (Jason Segel), who has spiraled downward following his wife’s death. His daughter resents him, his neighbors pity him, and his friends cannot seem to reach him. Ironically enough, for a guy who cannot get over his grief, he works as a therapist.

Jimmy’s not like any other therapist. Instead of sugarcoating his advice, he lays bare the cold, harsh truth — which apparently works for his clients. His mentor Paul (Harrison Ford) might not approve of Jimmy’s intrusive methods, but Jimmy finds satisfaction in knowing that his approach actually works — until it doesn’t. It is then that he realizes no amount of people he can heal will ever fix the one person who really needs healing: himself.

‘Ted Lasso’ (2020–Present)

Football is very much in season in Ted Lasso — the British kind, though. Coach Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) gets the culture shock of his life when he’s hand-selected to train the struggling A.F.C. Richmond. Unsurprisingly, his overenthusiastic southern hospitality doesn’t exactly match well with Richmond’s sardonic humor. But over time, Coach Lasso wins his team over with his kindness. Together with his trusty sidekick Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt), the two slowly earn the trust of Richmond’s finest footballers, and in the process, learn how to become better trainers themselves.

One of the biggest lessons emphasized in Ted Lasso is to “be curious, not judgmental.” Coach Lasso is underestimated, but instead of lashing out, he understands that all of it comes from people just being curious. All he has to do is give them a proper reason to believe he is a capable coach. For him, that comes effortlessly. A.F.C. Richmond is already filled with capable football players — Coach Lasso simply gives them the confidence they have long needed.

‘Pachinko’ (2022–2024)

Minha Kim in Pachinko Season 2 Episode 2

An epic family saga spanning from 1915 Korea to 1989 Japan, Pachinko follows four generations of a Korean family trying to survive under Japanese occupation. After an unwanted encounter leaves teenage Kim Sunja (Kim Min-ha) pregnant, she builds a new life in Osaka after a priest offers to marry her in the name of salvation. Decades later, her grandson Solomon (Jin Ha) confronts the legacy of his family’s history.

Pachinko explores the struggles of the Zainichi community — ethnic Koreans living in Japan — across generations shaped by discrimination and displacement. The apple does not fall far from the tree, and their experiences across the decades reflect that reality. Sunja has it hard as a direct victim of the Japanese annexation and World War II, but even Solomon, despite becoming a far more successful descendant, still has his Korean-Japanese heritage called into question. However, the series shows that persistence alone is already a form of resistance, and that the only people we truly have to prove ourselves to are ourselves.

Arrakis · Dune

Paul Atreides

You carry a weight most people would crumble under — the knowledge of what you’re capable of, and the burden of what you might have to become.

  • You see further ahead than others and you plan accordingly, even when the vision frightens you.
  • You are driven by loyalty to your people and a sense of destiny you didn’t ask for but can’t escape.
  • Paul Atreides is not simply a hero — he is someone who understands the cost of power and chooses to bear it anyway.
  • That gravity, that willingness to carry what others won’t, is exactly you.

USS Enterprise · Star Trek

Captain Kirk

You lead with instinct, warmth, and an absolute refusal to accept a no-win scenario — because you’ve always believed there’s a third option nobody else has thought of yet.

  • You take the mission seriously without ever taking yourself too seriously.
  • Your crew would follow you anywhere, not because you demand it, but because you’ve earned it.
  • Kirk’s genius isn’t tactical — it’s human. He reads people, bends rules with purpose, and wills outcomes into existence through sheer conviction.
  • That combination of warmth, audacity, and relentless optimism is unmistakably yours.

The Rebellion · Star Wars

Princess Leia

You are the kind of person who holds the line when everyone else is losing faith — not because you’re fearless, but because giving up simply isn’t something you’re capable of.

  • You lead through conviction. Your voice carries because your belief is unshakeable.
  • You gave up everything ordinary the moment you chose the cause, and you’ve never looked back.
  • Leia is not a supporting character in her own story — she is the moral centre of the entire rebellion.
  • That same fierce, principled, unbreakable core is what defines you.

The Nostromo · Alien

Ellen Ripley

You are not reckless, not grandiose, and not particularly interested in being anyone’s hero — you just refuse to stop when it matters.

  • You see threats clearly, you document the truth even when no one listens, and when the time comes you handle it yourself.
  • Ripley’s heroism is earned, not performed. She doesn’t have a speech — she has a flamethrower and a plan.
  • You share her composure under the worst possible pressure, and her refusal to pretend the monster isn’t there.
  • When it counts, you don’t flinch. That’s everything.

The Wasteland · Mad Max

Max Rockatansky

You have been through fire that would break most people — and what came out the other side is something the world underestimates at its peril.

  • You don’t ask for help, don’t need validation, and don’t wait for anyone to tell you the rules no longer apply.
  • Your loyalty, when it finally arrives, is absolute — but it’s earned in silence and tested in action, not in words.
  • Max is not a nihilist. He is someone who lost everything and found, against his will, that he still has something worth protecting.
  • That bruised, stubborn, ultimately human core is exactly yours.

‘Pluribus’ (2025–Present)

“We just want to help, Carol.” From the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul now comes the post-apocalyptic Pluribus. Author Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn) is one of the 13 people in the world unaffected by the “Joining,” a mysterious foreign virus that causes humanity to be part of a unified, hive mind known as the “Others.” Unlike traditional viruses — which either kill people or worse, turn them into zombies — the Others live harmonious, productive lives.

Pluribus questions whether being part of the status quo majority is truly better than being in the minority. The philosophy of the Joining is that nobody gets left behind and contributes equally, and that everyone lives in peaceful coexistence with no social strata dividing them. However, it doesn’t take away the fact that they are taking away individualism and free choice. Even if it makes the world a “better place,” there is always a cost to efficiency.

5

‘The Studio’ (2025–Present)

Today’s entertainment industry may be in disarray due to AI, profit-hungry executives, and streaming services. However, it also makes for great satirical television. The Studio is arguably Seth Rogen‘s magnum opus, especially after earning him his first-ever Primetime Emmy Award win for the show. Following a struggling production company, Matt Remick (Rogen) becomes the newly appointed head of Continental Studios. Matt’s love for movies is unquestionable, but his cinephile, Letterboxd-coded taste isn’t exactly what the market-seeking executives at Continental Studios are looking for.

The Studio takes virtually every Hollywood and pop culture trope and makes fun of its sheer cringiness. Much of that cringe comes from the idea that everything has to be marketable. Throughout The Studio, superhero franchises, awards campaigns, and corporate marketing are all portrayed as being far removed from the artistry that’s supposed to be at the heart of filmmaking. It’s a sharp reminder that these days, what gets people talking about films often isn’t the film itself, but the discourse surrounding it — something studios are eager to profit from, revealing just how shallow Hollywood can be.

6

‘Dark Matter’ (2024–Present)

Joel Edgerton as Jason Dessen in Dark Matter

Based on Blake Crouch‘s book of the same name, Dark Matter shows what happens when an overly ambitious scientist goes overboard with his so-called benevolent ideas. By day, Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton) is a physics professor at a regular college. By night, he’s a doting husband and father to his family. His life changes when he gets abducted in the middle of the night. He later wakes up in an alternate reality — one where his scientific passion project is a success and used for nefarious means.

Parallel universes are a big thing in the sci-fi genre. Dark Matter gets its sci-fi chops from the actual superposition theory, which is fictionalized to extreme measures when it is made into a dimension-traveling box. But one rule of parallel universe traveling is that when somebody alters even the slightest thread of their current reality, it would not only alter the current universe they’re in, but also millions of other universes out there. Dark Matter is one slippery slope that Jason finds himself in, with no possible way of escaping.

7

‘Severance’ (2022–2025)

“The work is mysterious and important.” No other sci-fi series has brought viewers more to Apple TV than Severance. Former history professor Mark Scout (Adam Scott) is wallowing in grief following the unexpected passing of his wife. To cope with his heartbreak, Mark takes a job at Lumon Industries. Apart from a stable office job, one of the other “perks” of working there is that everyone on his floor goes through a memory-losing “severance” program.

The severance program is designed to create split personalities: as an “innie,” employees aren’t aware of what’s going on outside; as an “outie,” they have no memory of what they did back at work. Severance questions the moral ambiguity of this method. On one hand, severance allows employees to fully focus on the work as they enter the building, ensuring total work-life balance. On the other hand, it establishes one-sided control over the working class. Either way, it reeks of modern-day capitalism, showing how corporations are willing to invade their staff in the name of profit.

General Hospital: Carly & Valentin’s Explosive Romance – What Happens Next?

Published

on

General Hospital: Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) - Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart)

General Hospital delivers Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) reunited and more people are finding out that they’re together.

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) ranted and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) is absolutely going to blow up. Most of Port Charles is going to have an opinion on them, probably mostly negative, but they are still clearly headed for super couple status.

We’re going to talk about where Valentin and Carly go from here now that he’s pardoned and his and Carly’s romance has gone public.

General Hospital: Carly & Valentin Reunited!

Now, let’s talk about this happily reunited duo. So, thanks to GH Big Boss Z, Valentin came back home to Port Charles with a full pardon for his crimes. Seems only fair since Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) was released from Pentonville for pretty much the same dirty deeds that Valentin was doing in the GH WSB, which gave him a job instead of a jail cell.

So, when Carly saw Valentin getting out of that SUV that pulled up in front of General Hospital, it was great. Carly took off running. She just left the conversation with Sonny to make a run for Valentin. Lulu and Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) saw it, too. And that’s I think when Lulu realized exactly what was going on, and it gave her some more information about what Valentin’s been up to.

I thought Carly and Valentin’s reunion was pretty awesome. Not only did Carly run for him, but Valentin ran for her and they crashed into each other’s arms. They hugged and then shared that passionate kiss. Meanwhile, Sonny and Charlotte and Lulu were looking on in shock.

Now, Charlotte was only surprised because her dad Valentin was free. That’s what shocked her because Charlotte already knew how close Carly and Valentin were. She pretty much knew. But Lulu and Sonny were blindsided. And Carly wasted no time. She brought Valentin home with her and Carly doesn’t want him to leave.

Sonny Confronts Carly on GH

Meanwhile, Valentin is really happy he doesn’t have to keep hiding out in her attic. But even with his name cleared and Carly thrilled to have him back, they are going to face some obstacles. And one of them already happened. That was when Sonny showed up on that recent episode, walked into Carly’s place and caught them canoodling.

And with no irony whatsoever, Sonny said, “Valentin is the absolute worst mistake that Carly has made.” Come on. Really? She was engaged to Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) at one point and that was when she still thought he had had Michael Corinthos (then Chad Duell) raped in prison. They retconed that away. But still, I think Franco or the Alcazar (Ted King)  thing were much bigger mistakes. But I think the mobster was a mistake as well.

And then Sonny dropped the bombshell. The Valentin was behind his psych meds being tampered with. And if I recall correctly, Jack Brennan had a hand in that. I think he approved Valentin doing it because they were trying to deal with Sonny issues. Anyway, Carly was appalled and Valentin owned it and he apologized. So, Carly’s going to let it slide. But that little kitchen altercation with Sonny moaning and griping about Carly’s disastrous love life was the tip of the iceberg. There’s much more coming.

Sonnys Big Plans to Split Up Carly & Valentin on General Hospital

Let’s dive into what is ahead for Valentin and Carly on their road to super couple status. First off, Sonny is far from done. He is determined to split up Carly and Valentin. And summer spoilers say Sonny enlists Brick (Stephen A. Smith) in the effort to try and break them up. And that should start soon. Since Brick has that big crush on Carly, I’m sure he’s all in right away.

But I honestly can’t with Sonny’s hypocrisy about Valentin. This is the same Sonny that drugged teenage Karen Wexler so she would strip at his club and sleep with him. And Sonny shot his son Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and many others, and he’s a serial cheater who’s done Carly quite dirty, so he can kick rocks.

So, another thing to talk about, if it’s not already official, I think it’s pretty certain that Valentin is going to move in with Carly to stay. She said this week she never wants him to leave, but we need to see suitcases unpacked. It’s one thing for fugitive Valentin to lurk in her attic like a sexy bat.

It’s another for them to officially cohabitate. What’s worse is that’s the house Sonny used to live in with Carly, but Valentin’s gonna be keeping that bed warm upstairs in the master bedroom. And I’m sure plenty of other people will be dropping in to vent about Carly being with Valentin. But since Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) seems cool with him now, I don’t think Carly’s going to care.

Charlotte Moves in Carly & Valentin on GH?

Another thing I can see in Valentin and Carly’s future is another kid. And no, I don’t think Valentin’s going to knock up Carly. Instead, I think his precious Charlotte is going to wind up living with them, at least part-time. Carly already adores her, and Charlotte really likes Valentin’s new lady love. And of course, Lulu is going to be fuming, but she and Charlotte are about to hit a breaking point.

Lulu’s trying to keep Valentin away, but he offered her a 50/50 custody split or said, “You can risk family court.” Because Charlotte’s 16. So, the judge is going to ask where she wants to live, and she’ll say with Papa Valentin. GH summer spoilers say Charlotte has issues with Lulu and seeks new living arrangements.

And with Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) heading to Ireland to see Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and Ace Cassadine (Jay & Joey Clay) soon, I doubt Charlotte’s at grandma’s place. I think that she is going to want to live there with her dad and his new girlfriend. I think Carly will be fine with it and Valentin will be thrilled.

General Hospital: Valentin Working for the WSB?

Next thing, we know that Valentin’s going to need a job. You know, he could be a sommelier at the Metro Court restaurant handing out wine. He’s got good taste, but I’m thinking he and Jack might bury the hatchet because of common enemies. Or rather, I should say, Valentin pretends to bury the hatchet.

Carly still wants Jack destroyed. So, Valentin might wind up doing some work for the local GH WSB office. That way, he can get close to Jack. He can keep an eye on Josslyn and look for opportunities to destroy Jack so that Carly can have her revenge. We’ve also heard hints that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) might end up working for the WSB.

General Hospital: Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) - Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart)General Hospital: Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) - Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart)
General Hospital: Carly Corinthos – Valentin Cassadine

So, Valentin could end up working with Josslyn and with Carly’s BFF Jason while orchestrating Jack’s downfall. And one last thing, Valentin and Carly are going to have to face a barrage of haters. I think a lot of them.

Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) has toxic Peter August (Wes Ramsey) in her head and he may tell Anna to go after Valentin. Then there’s Lulu. She’s going to be furious with Carly and Valentin both. And if Charlotte moves in, I think Lulu is going to be scheming to destroy them.

I mean, bless her heart. Both her kids are pretty frustrating right now. I understand Charlotte to some extent because she was raised by Valentin, but Rocco Falconeri‘s (Finn Carr) fixation on Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is nonsensical cruelty towards his actual mom, Lulu.

General Hospital: Jason Won’t Be Happy

And once Jason’s back, I’m sure he won’t like the idea of Carly and Valentin being together, but also Sonny’s going to gripe to Jason and might ask him to help split them, but I don’t know if he’s going to return interested in doing any conspiring with Sonny. Once Jason’s back, he’s supposed to be making a big change.

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Jack aren’t fans of Carly being with Valentin. And with Nina and Jack getting closer soon, they may prove problematic for the new super couple. Carly still despises Jack and she’s hated Nina for years. And of course, Dante may show up to warn Carly and to see what has Lulu so upset.

So, there’s certainly going to be some big hurdles along the way, but Carly and Valentin are head over heels for each other. Their chemistry is fire. They’re not going to let anybody tear them apart. And I am here for it. They could be the next big super couple on GH. Something honestly the ABC soap is currently lacking.

Part Three’, Denis Villeneuve’s 10/10 Sci-Fi Sets New Release

Published

on

arrival-poster.jpg

Director Denis Villeneuve is well known for his brilliant work on the Dune franchise that takes fans to Arrakis and makes them root for a hero they aren’t certain about. His love for books and proficiency with the filmmaking craft have taken the franchise to new levels. Nonetheless, the director has given us some amazing movies across genres. Be it compelling thrillers like Prisoners and Sicario or futuristic cyberpunk features like Blade Runner 2049, his vision, character-driven narratives, and distinct storytelling keep fans glued to their seats.

Before Villeneuve made the Timothée Chalamet-led feature, he made another sci-fi hit that has a special place in fans’ hearts. The movie in question, starring Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams. The 2016 feature presents the concept of alien invasion differently from its peers at the time, giving the narrative almost a mythical quality and resonating deeply with its themes. We follow Adams as linguistics professor Louise, who leads an elite team of investigators when gigantic spaceships touch down in 12 locations around the world. To avert a global war, Banks and her crew must race against time to find a way to communicate with the extraterrestrial visitors. The 94 percent Rotten Tomatoes-rated film was a big commercial hit, earning $203.4 million worldwide and garnering eight Oscar nominations.

Titled Arrival, the movie’s brilliance lies in Eric Heisserer’s adapted screenplay from Ted Chiang’s novel Story of Your Life. Arrival uses the sci-fi premise to explore various human experiences and philosophical concepts, wrapping them in themes of communication, non-linear time, free will, and isolation. Fans who’d love to revisit the visually stunning feature are in luck; Arrival is getting a re-release on Blu-ray and 4K as a limited-edition Steelbook. The new formats are being released to celebrate the movie’s 10th anniversary.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

While Anya Taylor-Joy (who had a small voice-only role in Dune: Part Two) and Robert Pattinson will also join the cast in significant roles.

Meanwhile, the Arrival steelbook will drop on September 8. The final installment of Dune is set for a December release. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Bold and the Beautiful: Will Spencer Goes Off the Rails – Brutal Villain Turn Ahead!

Published

on

Bold and the Beautiful: Will Spencer (Crew Morrow)

Bold and the Beautiful writers are taking Will Spencer’s (Crew Morrow) character way out into left field. All of a sudden, he is being made out to be some unhinged, violent guy on a villainous arc. Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) thinks that R.J. Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) is in danger and somehow also has decided that Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) is too.

We’re going to get into how B&B is doing this bizarre twist and turning Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and Katie Logan‘s (Heather Tom)’s son into somebody we don’t recognize and that they think Electra should be afraid of.

Bold and the Beautiful: Will’s Mysterious Villain Arc

Right now, we’re getting a completely different version of Will. The way he’s acting lately is totally unlike we’ve seen him before. The only time we saw him hit somebody in the past was in defense of Electra. Remember when Will smacked Remy Pryce (Christian Weissmann) down when he was stalking and terrorizing Electra? It was heroic.

But this whole thing started with R.J. just instigating stuff at the Bikini Bar, smack-talking Will while putting his hands on Electra. That was the first time that Will punched R.J. And even then, it seemed very out of character. Will has always been a sweetheart. And then again, got to say R.J. inspires a lot of fans to want to face punch him. So, there’s that.

And then when he was trespassing at Will’s house and refused to leave after being told repeatedly to go, I will say that R.J. was in the wrong to stay, but Will hit him too many times. But R.J. shouldn’t have busted in there. He was trespassing.

The Forresters love to go busting into places uninvited and making outrageous demands. They do it at Logan all the time. This is something they all do. And we’ve got Katie freaking out when Will said he hit R.J. again. And even Dollar Bill told Will to use his head and not his fists. As if that’s advice that Bill would really give.

Will the New Villain on B&B?!

So, they’re obviously going to keep going down this rabbit hole of Will coming into some sort of villain era. We’ve got Ridge with this wild speculation that Will is a danger to Electra. B&B even suggesting Will hit Electra is insane. But Brad Bell is clearly making Will the bad guy, a violent bad guy. Before, if you remember, Will was clean cut, clean shaven, and preppy.

And now Bold and the Beautiful is making Will look like a bad guy. They’ve let his hair get shaggy, gave him scruff, put him in clothes that make him look thuggish. It’s so obvious. Like Brad Bell’s told the costume department make him look like trouble. And it might carry more weight if the person Will hit was somebody that fans liked, but he’s not. R.J. is without a doubt one of the most despised characters on B&B and an extremely unpopular recast.

Bold and the Beautiful History of Violent Characters

And we just got them making Will out as this monster out of nowhere. Yet, there are countless other Bold and the Beautiful characters that have done terribly violent things. Very recently, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) slapped the starch out of Katie. A few years back, Ridge threw Bill off a balcony, and Bill had Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) toss Ridge out of a helicopter.

Back in the Hunter Tylo days, Taylor Hayes shot Bill in the back because he slept with her daughter Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and she took minimal heat for that. And come on, Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) was way more physically threatening than Will ever has been.

But Ridge didn’t mention his son doing bad things, just Bill’s son. I mean, Thomas and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) brawled on a rooftop when Thomas tried to basically kidnap Hope Logan (Annika Noelle).

Bold and the Beautiful: Will Spencer (Crew Morrow)Bold and the Beautiful: Will Spencer (Crew Morrow)
Bold and the Beautiful: Will Spencer

Thomas punched Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) and his own father, Ridge. Thomas once tried to set Rick’s house on fire and did blow up Rick’s car. That is way worse than Will punching R.J. the trespasser. Those were actual felonies.

But Will’s being made out to be the bad guy here. And don’t forget Electra herself punched a pregnant woman. But then she was telling Ridge she doesn’t like violence. Electra assaulted Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) when she was pregnant with Will’s baby.

And yes, Luna was awful. But Electra hit a pregnant woman so hard she knocked Luna all the way to the ground. If anybody’s going to be hitting a woman, it’s not Will. But unfortunately, this seems to be where Bold is going, making Will into a violent, crazy person. And this week, he also told Bill he was starting to scare himself. Come on.

And Will said he doesn’t know why he’s acting like this. Plus, he did that whole big weird screaming thing when he collapsed to his knees, shouting Electra’s name after she took off with R.J. So, it really does seem like they’re going to have Will with more anger issues and doing more violence.

Bold and the Beautiful: Ridge’s Ultimatum and Future Conflict

And moving forward, I’m wondering what Ridge may do next now that he’s told Electra she needs to walk away from Will. Actually, Ridge, I think, is bullying Electra at this point. Ridge is already telling her to block Will from her phone, to block him from her life, and he gave Electra an ultimatum, saying she has to choose sides between Will and her family, between the Spencers and the Forresters.

Ridge is so convinced that Will is a danger to Electra simply because he hit R.J. now. By that logic, Ridge is a danger because he’s hit Bill and Brooke’s a danger since she hit Katie. And at this point, I expect Ridge and R.J. to hype up things about Will being unhinged and to keep ramping this all up and them making it look like Electra is a possible victim of some imagined future potential domestic violence is all nuts and I expect to see R.J. acting out.

I think he will taunt Will about Electra ditching him. And since Ridge basically told Electra she has to ditch Will, she’s probably going to head in that direction. But if R.J. provokes Will deliberately, I can see him smacking R.J. again.

Only this time, we could see Electra calling the cops on him because Ridge tells her to. Or we could have R.J. deliberately provoke Will in front of witnesses like at the Bikini Bar. You know, a scene where R.J. is goading him and being nasty, knowing if he pushes the right button, then Will is going to lash out. And then R.J. could have him arrested to protect poor pouty Electra.

Bold and the Beautiful: Will Leans on Dylan?

I also expect we’re going to see Will opening up to Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) about all this. And I think she’ll be sympathetic to Will because she adores him and she knows he’s not unhinged. Dylan might even be around to see R.J. barging into Will’s house again, refusing to leave, trespassing again.

You know, Dylan might be the one to defend Will to the cops if he pops R.J. again when he won’t leave his home. I know some fans are wondering if Ridge is going to threaten legal action against Will. Maybe to try and blackmail Bill, but honestly, that seems too high stakes for Brad Bell’s writing, if I’m being honest.

Now, here’s how I expect this big bad Will story to peak. I think there’s going to be a situation where Electra seems to be in danger from Will and R.J. attacks Will and really hurts him and then tries to claim it with self-defense.

Remember like when Brooke saw Thomas and Hope, they were talking behind Steffy’s cliff house and Brooke totally misread the situation and she shoved Thomas off a cliff. Hope was horrified. Now thankfully Thomas survived, but since B&B likes to repeat plots and Will lives in Malibu where there’s lots of cliffs, I could see something like that happening again.

We could also see Ridge bringing back toxic, terrible Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) once Ashleigh Brewer’s maternity leave is over so that she can defend poor Electra from monstrous Will. The bottom line is he’s never been violent before and this is just out of character, but it’s what we’re getting.

Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Disneyland For Adults’ Shuts Down

Published

on

Ryan Reynolds at American Cinematheque

Ryan Reynolds helped turn Aviation American Gin into one of Hollywood’s most recognizable celebrity-backed liquor brands, but one of its most ambitious attractions has quietly reached the end of the road.

The closure of the brand’s Portland tasting room marks a notable shift for the business, raising questions about changing consumer habits, the spirits industry, and what comes next for Reynolds’ longtime investment.

Visitors hoping to tour Aviation American Gin’s Portland tasting room will no longer have the opportunity after the facility officially welcomed its final guests on June 28.

The venue, which opened in September 2022, was created as an immersive destination where fans could sample Aviation’s products, learn about the distilling process, and experience the brand beyond a bottle on a store shelf. Reynolds once memorably described it as a “Disneyland for adults,” reflecting the playful marketing style that has long defined his partnership with the company.

As news of the closure spread, a farewell message posted at the entrance thanked supporters for their years of patronage.

“Thank you for all the memories, Portland. Stay weird,” the sign read, according to Willamette Week.

Although the visitor center has shut down, the Aviation American Gin brand itself is not disappearing.

The closure comes during a challenging period for the U.S. spirits market.

Aviation American Gin is co-owned by global beverage company Diageo, which acquired the brand in 2020 while Reynolds remained a co-owner and one of its most recognizable ambassadors. Since then, the actor has continued promoting the label through his trademark humor, helping Aviation stand out in the increasingly crowded celebrity spirits space.

Diageo recently reported weaker U.S. spirits sales, with industry publication The Spirits Business noting a 15.4% decline in the company’s U.S. spirits business during the January-to-March period.

In a statement explaining the Portland closure, a Diageo spokesperson said, “After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close the Aviation American Gin Visitor Center in Portland, Oregon.”

The company added, “This decision reflects evolving business needs, as we continue to support growth ambitions for our Aviation American Gin brand.”

Diageo also emphasized that the label remains an important part of its portfolio, saying, “Aviation American Gin remains an important part of Diageo’s portfolio and we are committed to the brand, our customers and consumers.”

Rather than ending production altogether, the company confirmed manufacturing has been transferred to an existing facility outside Portland.

Ryan Reynolds Helped Transform Aviation Into A Global Brand

Long before celebrity alcohol brands became commonplace, Reynolds saw potential in Aviation American Gin.

He invested in the company in 2018, becoming both a co-owner and the public face of the brand. His witty commercials and social media campaigns helped Aviation carve out a unique identity, blending dry humor with premium branding.

The investment also fit Reynolds’ broader business strategy. Beyond acting, he has built a reputation for backing consumer brands with unconventional marketing, including successful ventures in telecommunications, sports ownership, and production.

Founded by Portland’s House Spirits Distillery in the early 2000s, Aviation had already earned a loyal following before Reynolds joined. His involvement dramatically expanded its visibility, ultimately leading to Diageo’s acquisition while keeping Reynolds involved as a partner.

The Portland visitor center became an extension of that strategy, giving consumers an in-person experience designed to strengthen the connection between the brand and its fans.

Portland’s Challenges Add Another Layer To The Story

The timing of the closure has also drawn attention because of Portland’s changing business climate.

Since 2020, the city has faced well-documented struggles involving crime, homelessness, and quality-of-life concerns that have affected residents and businesses alike. While violent crime has fallen from recent highs, debates over public safety and downtown recovery have continued.

Recent local polling has also suggested many residents have considered relocating in the coming years, reflecting broader concerns about the city’s future.

Diageo has not cited those issues as the reason for closing the visitor center, instead pointing to evolving business priorities. Still, the decision arrives against the backdrop of a city that continues working to rebuild foot traffic and consumer confidence.

Ryan Reynolds’ Investment Story Is Far From Over

Although the visitor center has closed, Aviation American Gin remains available nationwide, with its flagship expression and Cranberry & Blood Orange variety continuing to be sold at retailers.

For Reynolds, the latest development represents a business adjustment rather than an exit.

Celebrity-backed alcohol brands have become increasingly competitive in recent years as consumer spending has softened across parts of the beverage industry.

Companies have responded by streamlining operations while focusing resources on areas expected to deliver stronger long-term growth.

The closure of Aviation’s Portland attraction may bring an end to what Reynolds once called his “Disneyland for adults,” but it does not signal the end of his relationship with the brand.

Instead, it reflects how even successful celebrity ventures must adapt to shifting market conditions. While one chapter has closed in Portland, Aviation American Gin’s owners are making it clear they still see a future for the label, even if that future no longer includes the visitor experience that once served as the brand’s showcase.

Michael Phelps Explains Why Olympians Struggle to Make Money

Published

on

GettyImages-2164083741 Michael Phelps Admits A Very Small Percent of Olympians Can Make a Living Off Their Sport

Michael Phelps opened up about the harsh financial realities that many Olympians face.

“I don’t think you’re going into the Olympic space to be a millionaire,” Phelps, 41, admitted on the Tuesday, July 7, edition of the “Richer Lives” podcast. “I think you’re doing it just because you love the sport.”

The competitive swimmer has won more Olympic medals than any other athlete in any sport, with 28 total medals across four Summer Games. (Phelps also holds the all-time record for most gold medal wins with 23, in addition to his three silver and two bronze medals.)

Phelps parlayed his success into a media career that has included major endorsement deals and even his own video game — but that’s not a trajectory that many Olympians replicate.

“I think there’s a very small percent of Olympians that actually can make a living off of it,” he noted. “I was very fortunate to be one of those. I got to wake up every single day and do what I loved.”

The athlete recalled that there were “times [he] wanted to quit” swimming before his Olympics success, only for his mother, Debbie, to remind him of the financial realities of that decision.

“My mom’s like, ‘If you want to quit, do you want to go work a 9-to-5 job?’ I was like, ‘Good call,’” he recalled to host Vivian Tu. “For me, I was going to swim … eight to 10 times a week, that’s a job? I’m getting paid to do what I love.”

Phelps remembered feeling that his life was “all about sports” as a kid even though it “never really felt like a job.”

“I was always outside playing. I was having fun. I was being myself,” he said. “I was very lucky to find a career where I could just be me, my authentic self. I had a blast doing it.”

Later in the podcast, Phelps confirmed that he received an early education from a financial advisor at age 15. Now, he leans into endorsements where he is offered a financial stake in the companies he signs with.

“Over time, my agent got smart in trying to structure contracts in a different way. Whether it was me taking equity or me just taking cash,” he said. “Just having an agent that is able to structure deals in different ways, thinking long term. You’re invested in it. You want [these companies] to go massive. Instead of just getting a pile of cash, for me, I’m along for the ride.”

Phelps also touched on overcoming public controversies, including his two previous DUI arrests. (The Olympian entered a guilty plea to a charge of driving while impaired in 2004 and later pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in 2014.)

He also temporarily walked away from the world of competitive swimming following the 2012 London Games, citing burnout and frustration with the sport. (He told reporters at the time that he “just wanted to be done with swimming and didn’t want anything to do with the sport anymore.”)

Michael Phelps is weighing in on Team USA’s major swimming loss during the 2024 Paris Olympics. “For me as a whole, I was pretty disappointed to see the U.S. swimming results,” Phelps, 39, told USA Today on Monday, August 5. “Obviously, there were a few standout swims, and those you have to recognize.” Phelps gave […]

“At that point, I didn’t care [about the financial implications],” he acknowledged. “I literally came back to the 2012 Olympics because I had to. I had contractual obligations that I had to fulfill.”

He said that he was so disillusioned with the sport at the time that he’d “skip” a week’s worth of training on a whim.

“I was just stiff-arming the sport because I wanted a break,” Phelps confessed. “After my second DUI, at that point, I didn’t feel like I should be alive anymore. I felt like I didn’t deserve to be alive anymore.”

He continued, “At that point, I just became scared. I think that was the first time that I asked for help. I feel that for so long we would just kind of sweep it under the rug. Nobody wanted to talk about it … I almost wanted to create a generational shift. Make real change.”

“It’s not embarrassing to go to therapy. It’s not embarrassing to ask for help,” he added, pointing out how much he valued his sponsorship deal with online therapy portal TalkSpace.

Phelps ultimately returned to swimming for the 2016 Summer Games in Rio, where he won five gold medals and a silver. He retired from the sport in August 2016.
