Anne Hathaway’s Out Of Control In Netflix’s R-Rated Sci-Fi Comedy

When I was younger and still looking to make reckless decisions, there was a friend in my group who we referred to as the Hurricane. The reason we called him that was because when he had a few too many drinks, he’d start destroying things for fun. He was the kind of person who would bodyslam himself through a beer pong table or run full speed into a display at the convenience store while we were looking for a quick, late-night snack. We stopped hanging out with him because the collateral damage left in his wake was a blast radius we no longer felt like cleaning up.

Watching 2016’s Colossal brought back memories of those days because its protagonist is similarly destructive while drinking, though in ways that don’t mirror real life. Here, our hero Gloria (Anne Hathaway) finds her body controlling a Godzilla-like creature located in Seoul, South Korea whenever she gets wasted in her hometown of Mainhead, New Hampshire.

Colossal 2016

Splitting its narrative between both locations, Colossal tells a story about a woman coming to terms with her self-destructive behavior because she has to. Her actions have very real consequences on the other side of the world. Whenever she gets lost in the sauce, a single step in the wrong direction could destroy buildings and kill hundreds of people.

Unemployed Writer Turned Godzilla

When Colossal introduces us to Gloria, she’s an absolute wreck. An unemployed writer who’s hitting the bottle a little too hard, Gloria is kicked out of her New York City apartment by her boyfriend Tim (Dan Stevens), who’s had enough of her late-night blackouts and violent hangovers. With no job prospects or anywhere to live, Gloria moves back to her now-empty family home in Mainhead, New Hampshire to get her head on straight and figure out her next steps. There, she meets up with Oscar (Jason Sudeikis), a childhood friend she hadn’t talked to in years.

Taking Oscar up on his offer to help out at the bar his late father left him, Gloria finally has work, but more often than not spends her time on the clock getting drunk with Oscar and his other employees, Joel (Austin Stowell) and Garth (Tim Blake Nelson). Closing up shop and stumbling home around the same time the school day starts for the neighborhood children, Gloria cuts through the local playground at 8:05 am, thinking nothing of it until she watches the news later that day.

When Gloria learns about the giant, Godzilla-like creature attacking Seoul, South Korea, she’s at first panicked by the global implications. Those worries shift when she notices the correlation between her presence on the playground and the monster’s appearance. Though it makes no logical sense, Gloria surmises that her body is remotely controlling the monster, and she has the power to destroy entire city blocks just by waving her arms around. This remote relationship with the creature is confirmed when the monster is attacked by the military, as Gloria also feels pain when helicopters and rockets crash into it.

Colossal 2016

After explaining this phenomenon to her friends, Oscar learns that the same thing happens to him when he enters the playground at the same time. In Oscar’s case, however, he turns into a giant robot. Gloria is horrified by the amount of damage she is capable of causing and vows to quit drinking so nobody else gets hurt. Oscar, on the other hand, gets a sick thrill out of the power that he possesses and turns it into a deadly game whenever he lets the booze take control.

An Anthropromorphized Allegory

While it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what’s happening in Colossal, it’s still a clever way to look at how Gloria’s self-destructive behavior affects more than just herself. Every time she steps onto the playground, hundreds of people are displaced or killed by the monster she controls. Just like for any person in your life who may not be able to control themselves when they party a little too hard, there are unintended, potentially wide-reaching consequences tied directly to their actions that could be avoided entirely if they just stopped doing what they’re doing.

Colossal 2016

In Gloria’s case, her drinking compromises her relationship with Tim, and her subsequent spiral causes a catastrophic amount of damage far away from where she’s located physically. While all she has to do is sleep off a hangover after stumbling home, other people have to deal with her mess, which rings true for anybody who’s ever been friends with this kind of person.

What separates Oscar from Gloria is that he’s totally fine with the way things are shaking out. Gloria feels remorse and vows to improve her situation by attempting to go sober. Oscar, on the other hand, likes the power he wields over the citizens of Seoul and loves to watch the world burn because he wants everybody to be as miserable as he is. These two personalities, constantly at odds with each other, make for a compelling drama on their own. Colossal takes this tension and turns it into a literal battle between a giant reptile and a robot, using Seoul as their battleground while the whole world watches on TV.

Colossal 2016

Colossal starts off feeling like two different movies, and in many ways it is. If you remove the monsters, you get a dramedy about a woman moving back to her hometown to face her personal demons. If you remove Gloria, you get a lizard fighting a robot with zero context.

Together, they make for an interesting allegory about substance abuse and facing yourself after your bad habits destroy your life. To experience both of these stories converging in a single place, all you need to do is stream Colossal on Netflix.

Days of our Lives Early Spoilers Feb 23-27: Leo Desperately Covers His Tracks & EJ Senses Something’s Wrong

Published

on

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) - EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel)

Days of Our Lives early weekly spoilers for February 23rd through the 27th suggest Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) is scrambling and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) is suspicious.

As we always do on early edition day, we start with what’s coming the rest of this week. Then we’re going to dive into what is ahead next week.

Days of our Lives Early Spoilers: Gabi Takes Care of Philip

On Wednesday, February 18th, we’ve got Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) taking good care of Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). There is more hot stuff coming in Miami for these two. Plus, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) have a heart-to-heart with their daughter, Rachel Black (Alice Halsey). Now that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Brady agreed to see where things go but keep it private for now, he wants to make sure that Kristen and Rachel aren’t going to be an obstacle to his new relationship.

I wish him good luck with that. Dr. Marke Greene (Jonah Robinson) told Brady to stand firm with Rachel and Kristen, insisting that his love life is off-limits to them and their schemes and plotting. He says it’s none of their business. That’s not going to go over well with his ex or his daughter. I’m sure that Rachel and Kristen are going to plot behind Brady’s back, hopefully independently. If they do it together, that’s so much worse.

Gwen Rizczech and Xander Cook’s Steamy Encounter and EJ DiMera’s Memory Search

Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) and Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) get it on after the hands-on dirty talking golf session. So, Gwen has tackled Xander onto her bed, and they’re going to get down and dirty. In a recent interview, however, Paul Telfer said that Xander isn’t taking this seriously at all.

He is still devastated by his split from Sarah and he isn’t in any place to get emotionally involved with Gwen or any other woman. So, this is strictly physical for him, but Gwen doesn’t feel that way. Plus, Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) tries to trigger EJ’s memories.

Remember, they were in that Italian rehab hospital together, and Cat used to read Wuthering Heights to EJ. The question is whether Cat is trying to trigger EJ’s memories because of her ISA job, personal reasons, or curiosity. I’m guessing it’s the investigation that she and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) are working on.

DOOL Spoilers: Jada Hunter and Theo Carver’s Date Night Distractions

This week, we’re going to see Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) noticing while she’s out on her date with Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) that he has drifted off. That’s because he’s daydreaming about Gabi being at his table instead of Jada.

She notices that Theo’s kind of off somewhere and she asks, “Where did you just go?” If he’s smart, he’ll zip it and he won’t tell Jada he was thinking about another woman.

Thursday Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Villains Plot and Sorority Rivalries

On Thursday, February 19th, we’ve got Kristen getting an update from Gwen, and she’s sharing her own update. These two may be toasting to what they think is progress with the men that they want.

Kristen has moved in with Brady, and of course, she’s going to ignore his claim that they won’t be together. Gwen got Xander in her bed and she thinks it means something, but only to her. This champagne toast may be a little premature. Sarah and Brady try and sneak in another smooch, but they may be seen by Rachel or Kristen.

Sneaky Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) is enjoying Holly Jonas‘s (Ashley Puzemis) epic downfall. It is easy to keep track of it on social media thanks to all the sorority babes. Things are going to get worse when Arianna “Ari” Grace Horton (Marissa Reyes) has to tell Holly that the sorority that Holly really wanted has asked Ari to pledge to them.

Leo Stark and Dimitri von Leuschner DiMera Plan Their Great Escape from Salem on DOOL

Xander’s feelings for Sarah won’t go away; they continue to plague him. Doing the deed with his ex, Gwen, isn’t going to change that. This is not some rebound romance for Xander. I think it was pretty much just stress relief, and he may be surprised to find out Gwen’s thinking it’s the start of something on Days of our Lives.

Leo and Dimitri von Leuschner DiMera (Peter Porte) get busy trying to prove his innocence in the DiMera kidnappings. Leo is on the task of getting Dimitri’s ankle monitor off of him so they can leave Salem and, in fact, leave the country completely.

Friday Spoilers: Secret Agendas and Impending Danger

On Friday, February 20th, we’ve got Gabi and Jada chatting about their happy new romances. Gabi just got back from the romantic Miami trip, but Jada’s guy, Theo, has his eye on Gabi.

Theo has dirt that he could use to break up Gabi and Philip. So, I don’t think Gabi and Jada are going to be happy for too long. Plus, it’s already been confirmed in official Days spoilers that Shawn-Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer) and Jada reunite soon, possibly after he is shot.

Madame Vivian Alamain’s Henchmen and the Threat to Liam on Days

Ivan Marais (Ivan G’Vera), who of course is Madame Vivian Alamain’s (Louise Sorel) main henchman, is busy tying up loose ends. Ivan is plotting with Vivian’s new henchman, Klaus, who is the one who hired Liam Selejko (Hank Northrop) and was seemingly coordinating with Peter Blake (Dan Gauthier).

They can’t have the kidnappings come back around to be blamed on Madame Vivian. That means Liam is a loose end they may need to snip. This could be what gets Shawn-Douglas shot.

Meanwhile, Dimitri and Leo jet to Alamainia looking for answers and evidence to exonerate Dimitri. However, no Vivian scenes are expected. Vivian is done for right now. Gwen and henchmen Klaus and Ivan are going to take it from here.

EJ DiMera’s Suspicions and Rafe Hernandez’s Shocking News

EJ has questions for Rita Lesley (Maggie Carney) about Cat. I wonder if he is suspicious. I wonder if EJ is wondering if Cat has been nosy or asking questions. Maybe her pressing EJ about their shared history has him seeking out Rita to find out if there’s more to this because he is channeling Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) at this point.

He might be smart and question her motives. Rafe has surprising news for Gabi. He may have confirmation that Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) signature on the divorce decree was forged. She could be a very, very wealthy widow very soon.

February 23-27 Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Stephanie Johnson’s Kidnapping and Stalker Drama

The week of February 23rd through the 27th is the last week of sweeps, and they wrap on Wednesday, February 25th. Things are going to build up to a huge crescendo in next week’s action.

Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) is kidnapped at the hospital soon. Of course, Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) is going to be suspected, especially since he didn’t get to leave town. The stalker may take drastic action after Stephanie has married Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson). They aren’t wearing their rings because they’re trying to keep it private, but there’s that bug in the photo frame.

Once they head back to their apartment and start talking about how they fooled the stalker, things may escalate drastically and dangerously. Jeremy Horton is going to continue being portrayed until late April, so we know he’s involved in more of these stalker accusations. Whether he’s the culprit or not, my vote is still “not.”

Rachel Black’s Schemes and Shawn-Douglas Brady in the Line of Fire

Rachel may plot to put Kristen and Brady back together. Sarah may need to watch out and be on high pistachio alert. Liam could be in grave danger. Klaus may come back to Salem to wipe Liam out because he has been talking to the cops and gave them a very accurate sketch. He described the scar and everything.

We may see Jack Junior (JJ) Deveraux (Casey Moss) and Shawn tailing Liam to find out who he’s working for, especially if he’s made contact with them. This could be when Shawn is shot on duty because we know JJ and Liam are both there when it happens. It is winter and there’s snow on the ground; it could happen anytime.

Xander Cook’s Unrequited Love and Holly Jonas’s Downfall

Xander cannot get Sarah out of his head. I wonder if he will let Gwen continue to get closer to him thinking it’s friends with benefits while Gwen thinks it’s a new start to their romance.

Tate Black (Leo Howard) sees that Holly’s totally out of control and he doesn’t know how to help. Ari also notices Holly’s behavior and she’s not a fan; she calls her out. EJ is going to show Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) the woman in the tube soon, and hopefully, we’re going to see that before sweeps are over.

Days of Our Lives Casting News and Departures

Plus, Ashley Puzemis posted on Instagram that she wrapped filming her last scenes as Holly Jonas. She’ll be out of Salem in about nine months, give or take.

There is no word as to whether the actors who play Tate, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens), and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) have also wrapped their runs, because all four got pink-slipped at the same time right after the Christmas holidays.

A wave of former “Bad Girls Club” stars is pressuring production companies to launch a deep-dive documentary into the alleged misconduct and toxic atmosphere that defined the reality show in the early 2000s.

When a netizen mentioned “Bad Girls Club,” several of the show’s marquee players chimed in, implying they’d be interested in sharing how producers allegedly held them hostage, allowed them to be assaulted, and denied them their cell phones when they believed they were in danger.

Mehgan James, who also appeared on “Basketball Wives” and “Basketball Wives: Orlando,” also voiced support for a potential documentary. Beyond criticizing the show’s meager $500 weekly stipend, James recounted being left in a hotel room in Mexico for four days without a word from production, claiming they even held the cast’s passports.

Christine Quinn Teases A Potential ‘Selling Sunset’ Return

Published

on

Leaving a building

“Selling Sunset” has been one of the most talked-about reality shows on Netflix since its 2019 premiere. However, one of the fan favorites, Christine Quinn, left the series after its fifth season. Now, three years later, the former Netflix star is discussing a potential return to the show after Chrishell Stause announced her exit near the end of 2025 following season 9. This comes amid her ongoing divorce.

Quinn recently interviewed with US Weekly and admitted she’s unsure what a return to “Selling Sunset” would feel like. She said, “There are always conversations being had. I don’t know what that looks like. I’m always open to having fun and turning looks, but it needs to make sense for me, so it’s just a question mark right now. We’ll see.”

Notably, this comes after TMZ reported in February 2026 that the production team behind “Selling Sunset” had approached the reality star about appearing for season 10. The report also stated that discussions about its potential return are ongoing and that no one has signed for the new season so far.

Elsewhere in the interview, Quinn discussed the “Selling Sunset” cast and revealed who she’s still in touch with after leaving the show. She said, “I do keep in contact with some of the cast. Jason [Oppenheim], I actually talked with yesterday. I love him. I’ve always loved him, and he’s always been really supportive of me.”

She added, “I do talk to a lot of the girls, also Nicole [Young], Davina [Potratz], Bre [Tiesi], here and there, and I see them at events and stuff like that.”Quinn then noted that she doesn’t watch “Selling Sunset,” but noted the show’s “darker turn from when I was on the show.”

According to her, “It’s like the tides have changed, and I’ve seen a huge uproar and people being like, ‘Oh my gosh. Christine was right. Why did we not see this the whole time?’ I had a lot of people that told me, ‘I went back and watched the season over again, and it’s like I was wearing rose colored glasses the first time I saw it.’ And so that does make me feel good.”

Fans Want Her Back On The Hit Netflix Show

Following the initial report that Quinn was approached to return to “Selling Sunset,” many fans of the show took to social media to share their opinions. For the most part, her presence is missed on the series. One X user said, “If they don’t get her back, just cancel the show. Chrishell was the main character, and now she’s gone.”

Someone else wrote, “I mean… it has been TERRIBLE after she left. I completely stopped watching lol.” A different “Selling Sunset” fan stated, “They need her if Chrishelle is gone. Chrishell carried the whole show. Bre is wack as hell. And I’m glad Chelsea’s gone. It would’ve been OUTSTANDING with Chrishelle AND Christine together fighting.”

Article continues below advertisement

Another X user said, “I figured once Chrishell announced her departure.” Finally, someone else posted, “Christine Quinn’s dramatic Selling Sunset comeback feels inevitable now.”

The Reality Star Is Going Through A Divorce

Quinn’s life has changed quite a bit since she departed “Selling Sunset.” Sadly, she filed for divorce from Christian Dumontet in April 2024. She is living in Texas with her son. Quinn opened up about her divorce and what led to it in a March 2025 interview with PEOPLE.

She said, “This is the first time I’m talking about this stuff. I haven’t talked about this with anyone. Some people knew stuff was going on, but no one knew the extent of it in terms of how bad everything really was.”

Regarding why she relocated, Quinn said, “I really didn’t have a choice. I was granted an emergency protective order, so my ex couldn’t come to the house. He violated that, and would keep coming back.” She stated that they initially stayed in hotels and couch-surfed while in Texas.

Article continues below advertisement

Quinn added, “People really don’t know this. I was hacked out of my entire life. I was stripped of my entire life overnight — I literally had nothing. And it was dehumanizing. I was completely resourceless.” She also stated that there were issues in their marriage before the divorce filing.

Dolores Catania Blasts Rob Rausch For Turning On ‘Housewives’ On ‘Traitors’

Published

Candiace Dillard at the 2024 Billboard Women In Music

Elsewhere in the interview, Catania offered support to the other “Real Housewives” stars who have appeared on one of the four seasons of “The Traitors,” noting how mentally challenging it is to play a social and strategic game in which everyone has eyes on you to begin with.

Article continues below advertisement

Dolores Catania Sounds Off On Rob Rasuch Coming For Two Real Housewives In Season 4 Of ‘The Traitors’

The current season of “The Traitors” is beginning to wind down, and Rausch is the last original Traitor remaining. At the beginning of the season, the Alabama native was joined in the Traitor’s turret by Rinna and Bassett.

Their dynamic deteriorated in episode 7 when Rausch spearheaded the effort to eliminate Rinna, and then turned on Bassett just one episode later.

Speaking with Page Six about his moves, Catania didn’t seem pleased about Rausch’s gameplay, stating, “I wish he would’ve left the ‘Housewives’ alone.” She continued, “Come on, don’t get rid of the ‘Housewives.’”

Catania Talks About What It Feels Like Being A ‘Real Housewives’ Star On ‘The Traitors’

Catania appeared in season 3 of “The Traitors” and won. On her season, the reality TV veteran appeared with fellow Bravo stars Dorinda Medley, Chanel Ayan, and Robyn Dixon.

Once her fellow Housewives exited the castle, the experience grew increasingly challenging for her. “I was the last ‘Housewife’ [on Season 3 of ‘The Traitors’]. I knew what it felt like to be on an island. I knew what it felt like to not have that camaraderie. I was the last ‘Housewife’ for a lot longer than Dorinda,” she said.

Could Rausch Win This Season Of ‘The Traitors’?

Before Rinna and Bassett’s banishment in previous episodes, the pair bumped heads with Rausch during the show’s explosive round-table ceremony. While the outcome of the show remains under wraps, Catania suggested that a vigilant group of Faithfuls ought to be able to sniff out the remaining Traitors.

“So here’s the thing — traitor on traitor is always the biggest giveaway,” she said. “Evil can never stay with evil. You’ll find it in your life, you’ll find it across the board. And that was the biggest advice my mom gave me before I left for ‘Traitors.’”

Catania’s wisdom came from her mom, Valerie, whom she said has never seen an episode of “The Traitors.”

“So I explained it to my mom. I’m like, ‘Mom, how do I know who the killers are, who the traitors are?’ She goes, ‘It’s easy. If there’s more than one, they’ll wind up fighting because they can never stay together,’” Catania shared.

Per a report from The Blast, Bassett expressed frustration over her exit, slamming Rausch for betraying his fellow Traitors.

“Rob had lied to his Traitors at breakfast. He told us he didn’t mean to vote for Lisa, he was sorry he voted for Lisa, he didn’t think she was gonna go home. And then he goes to the roundtable that same night and not only votes for her but leads the charge,” Bassett said.

“You just lied to our faces. The game is called The Traitors, and he wasn’t being a Traitor. He was being a snake. He did what he felt was best for his game, and I hope it works out for him,” she shared.

7 Years Later, Rebecca Ferguson’s Perfect Horror Sequel Shines on Free Streaming

Published

on

01106882_poster_w780.jpg

At this point, it’s starting to feel like it’s Rebecca Ferguson‘s world, and we’re all just fortunate to be living in it. With an uncanny ability to elevate every project she touches, Ferguson has won over many hearts. She first broke onto the international stage in The White Queen, but soon parlayed that breakout to feature in blockbuster hits like the Mission Impossible and Dune films. However, tucked in between her tentpoles are a few under-the-radar projects that may not have dominated the box office, but remain just as compelling in quality. Now, one of those forgotten gems is finding a brand-new audience, and it’s available to stream for free.

While she’s become synonymous with action and sci-fi spectacle, Ferguson’s career has never been confined to a single lane. A true leading star, she has consistently shown impressive range, stepping confidently into drama and horror when the material calls for it. In fact, she got her start in the latter, making her feature film debut in 2004’s Drowning Ghost, a Swedish slasher that marked the beginning of her big-screen journey. She has since revisited the genre in projects like Daniel Espinosa’s Life and Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep. And lately, audiences have grown even fonder of the latter.

Doctor Sleep arrived with enormous expectations. A sequel to The Shining, one of the most iconic Stephen King adaptations ever made, the film had the daunting task of honoring both Stanley Kubrick’s horror classic and King’s later follow-up novel. While it may not have replicated the cultural phenomenon of its predecessor, it accomplished something arguably more impressive by becoming a worthy and deeply satisfying continuation of a horror masterpiece. The film has recently enjoyed a streaming resurgence and is now available on the free streaming service Tubi, where it ranks as the platform’s fifth most-watched movie at the time of this writing.
