Beyonce’s Dad Exits Interview After Ex Tina Knowles Comment
Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, walked out of an interview after receiving a comment regarding ex-wife Tina Knowles’ involvement in the success of Destiny’s Child.
During an interview for local New York City news outlet PIX 11, published via its YouTube channel on January 31, anchor Kendis Gibson raised the topic of Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé’s former girl group, that Mathew, 74, managed and executive-produced across various projects.
“I said the same thing to Ms. Tina Knowles, you guys put in the work, and obviously the talent was there with your kids,” Gibson, 53, remarked, referring to Mathew and Tina’s daughters, Beyoncè, 44, and Solange Knowles, 39. (Mathew is also father to son Nixon, 16, whom he shares with ex Alexandra Wright, and daughter Koi, 15, whom he shares with TaQoya Branscomb.)
Mathew then interrupted to address the comment about Tina, 72, asking Gibson, “What work did she put in?” to which a visibly caught-off-guard Gibson responded with “the hair.”

“OK, you’re absolutely right, in the styling, the imaging, you’re right,” Mathew acknowledged. Tina owned a beauty salon and styled Destiny’s Child members Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland and Beyonce’s hair, in addition to former band members’, before they achieved global success.
The music executive was then pushed further by Gibson, who suggested that Tina “claimed to have preyed on the name [Destiny’s Child] and different aspects of that,” before stating that “it’s a joint effort,” to which Mathew agreed.
Matthew then abruptly asked to “stop” the interview “now,” before standing up and shaking hands with Gibson.
The sudden end to their interview led Gibson to ask Mathew, “Sorry, did I say something wrong?” to which Mathew assured him that the situation was “all good” and thanked him several times.
Tina Knowles’ new memoir, Matriarch, is about her life as a businesswoman, wife and mother, but she still shared plenty of details about her famous family members, including daughters Beyoncé and Solange. After the interview aired, Page Six spoke to Mathew, who said that Gibson arrived “15 minutes late” and “asked multiple questions about Tina … when the interview was supposed to be about [a] Destiny Child’s tribute concert.” (Mathew’s Destiny’s Child Tribute: Iconic Reimagined Tour 2026 journeyed the U.S. in January and February.)
Mathew, who was married to Tina from 1980 until 2011, told the outlet, “How it starts is how it ends. It started on a bad note, and obviously ended on a bad note for him. I politely ended the interview, shook his hand, and took a photograph.”
The outlet reported that despite Mathew’s claims, Gibson “arrived on time for the shoot, while the crew was there early to set up.”

Chloe Kim might never be able to listen to Pink again — the Team USA snowboarder was left mortified after telling the singer she LOVES one of her songs … but there was just one problem.

The blunder went down on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” this week … when Pink — filling in for the “American Idol” winner — was chatting with the 2026 Olympic silver medalist.
During the convo, Kim told Pink she listened to her tunes while she would snowboard as a kid … and even started singing one of her favorites — “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).”
Before she could finish her thought, Pink politely informed her Clarkson was actually the artist behind the popular victory march … but pulled an incredible save out of her ass.
“But that’s fine ’cause I’m Kelly Clarkson today!!” Pink said.
Kim wanted to disappear — apologizing profusely and saying she’s so embarrassed … while name-dropping a REAL Pink song, “F***in’ Perfect,” to try and save face.
CK went on to say she just woke up from a nap … so her brain wasn’t fully operating at the time.
Pink laughed … so it’s safe to say she was saying “So What” over it all, and the two shared a hug.
As the Clarkson song goes … “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” — so maybe Kim should take that message and bounce back even better for the next TV appearance!!
Singer and actress Demi Lovato is opening up about her teen years on the Disney Channel, sharing insights into the friendships she made, personal struggles she went through, and the pressures of fame she felt while growing up in the spotlight.

Demi Lovato Had Insecurities
Lovato rose to fame through Disney Channel and became one of the network’s stars with shows and movies that included “Camp Rock” and “Camp Rock 2,” “Princess Protection Program,” and “Sonny with a Chance.” She was just 15 years old when she rose to stardom and, admittedly, Lovato said it was a “challenging” experience.
As she said in the podcast “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer,” she was friends with fellow Disney star Selena Gomez before her entry into the network, which was an advantage because of their “built-in friendship.”

However, she had insecurities that made her compare herself to her peers. At that time, Gomez and Miley Cyrus were big Disney stars as well. Fortunately, her mother was there to guide her, telling her, “There’s room for everyone. It’s not a competition.” With the advice, she was able to navigate her growing popularity.
“That’s what I really stuck by… I was always rooting for everybody,” Lovato told Palmer.

The Singer Had Good And Bad Memories At Disney
According to Lovato, she had good and bad memories from her time at Disney. While she’s appreciative that the network paved the way for her career, she also faced difficulty behind the scenes. “There’s so many emotions that come to mind when I think about that period of time in my life,” the singer said.
Per the actress, she struggled with an eating disorder at that time. “I struggled with my mental health very much so, but ultimately, like, very fond memories. I made friends that I will have for the rest of my life,” she shared.
Lovato opened up about her eating disorder in 2011, saying that she overate when she was younger and developed an eating disorder in her teen years. “I’ve had a really unhealthy relationship with food,” she said back then.

Demi Lovato Admits To Being ‘Bratty’ On Set
At 33 years old, Lovato is looking back at her teen years, saying she has so much compassion for her younger self. The singer said they were expected to meet such high expectations despite their young age. “I think I was so hard on myself at that time that I wish I’d had more grace for myself,” she noted.
Admittedly, said she wasn’t the best person to work with at that time due to feeling “miserable” in her own skin. As a result, she acted “bratty” on set. After a “breakdown,” the singer attended a 12-step program and consequently made amends with the people she affected.
“I was being really reflective of everything and, like, I wanted to make sure I wanted to right my wrongs,” she explained.

Demi Lovato Left The Disney Channel In 2011
Shortly after seeking treatment for her physical and mental health, Lovato decided to step away from Disney in 2011. She released a statement saying that returning in front of the camera wouldn’t be ideal for her recovery, adding, “It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the show to focus on my music.”
At that time, Lovato starred in “Sonny with a Chance,” and following her departure, the network rebranded the show into a sketch-comedy series titled “So Random!”
The Disney Channel supported Lovato’s decision, saying, “She is a talented young woman and our hearts are with her as she continues to take action to improve her health and bounce back from adversity.”
Demi Lovato Is Focused On Her Music
Since leaving the Disney Channel, Lovato has appeared in various film and TV roles, including a guest appearance on “Glee” and “Will & Grace,” as well as lending her voice to Smurfette in the 2017 animated movie “Smurfs: The Lost Village.”
For the most part, the singer has focused on her music, having released nine studio albums, the latest being “It’s Not That Deep,” which was released in 2025.
