Britney Spears is getting candid about her desire to expand her family amid her recent legal troubles.

β€œIt’s an emotional day for me,, guitars remind me of baby aliens,, such gentle strings,,, music is said to be the speech of angels,, I bought this one in Mexico πŸ‡²πŸ‡½ in hopes one day I can have another baby,” Spears, 44, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, June 21, Father’s Day in the United States.

Spears also shared a video featuring the pop star dancing in a yellow dress, wearing her hair down in loose waves as she held a guitar.

The β€œToxic” singer became a mom in 2005, when she welcomed son Sean Preston with then-husband Kevin Federline. The pair, who tied the knot in 2004, went on to welcome son Jayden James in 2006. That same year, Spears filed for divorce from Federline.

Sam Asghari has broken his silence on ex-wife Britney Spears’ recent DUI arrestβ€” kind of. Asghari spoke to NewsNation on Thursday, March 5, discussing the ongoing military conflict between the United States and Iran. However, a question about Spears was slipped into the mix. Asghari attempted to dodge the inquiry, deciding to keep the conversation […]

The caption read, β€œWe are grateful for what we have in the process of expanding our beautiful family πŸ’ Thank you for your support.”

One year later, Us Weekly confirmed that Asghari filed for divorce. Spears and Asghari’s divorce was settled in 2024.

News broke earlier this year that Spears was arrested in California on suspicion of driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs,” per a press release from the California Highway Patrol. She was then taken into custody and sent to a hospital to test her blood alcohol content, before being booked and released the next morning.

β€œThis was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” Spears’ rep told Us at the time. β€œBritney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

The message continued, β€œHer boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue, needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”

While Spears was seeking treatment, she was charged with driving under the influence. She accepted a plea deal in May and was sentenced to 12 months of probation and one daily in jail, which was credited with time served. Spears was also ordered to complete a DUI class and pay $571 in state-mandated fees and see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month.

Netflix’s 3-Part YA Hit Officially Returns Next Month

Published

on

03184756_poster_w780.jpg

For the past couple of months, few stories have been as popular on streaming as Rip (Cole Hauser) and Beth’s (Kelly Reilly) new life in South Texas. Dutton Ranch, the latest big hit in Taylor Sheridan‘s Yellowstone universe, has dominated the streaming ranks ever since its debut, culminating in the jaw-dropping finale on July 3 that saw many explosive ends to plot threads. Two weeks on and, at the time of writing, the series remains the most-watched show on Paramount+ in the world. But in terms of gripping ranch drama, there is another on the horizon sure to steal attention.

The series in question is My Life With the Walter Boys, which follows a teenage girl stuck in a romantic love triangle with two brothers (sound familiar, The Summer I Turned Pretty fans?), as Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez) and her complex mΓ©nage Γ  trois with Cole (Noah LaLonde) and Alex Walter (Ashby Gentry) take center stage. However, in the second season, ensemble characters are offered the chance to shine, including George (Marc Blucas), Danny (Connor Stanhope), and Kiley (Mya Lowe), even if some complain that Grace (Ellie O’Brien) was sidelined.

The series first debuted in December 2023 and became somewhat of a sleeper hit for Netflix, scoring a respectable 7.5 million views in its opening weekend. However, Season 2 smashed these numbers, debuting with 11.8 million views in its first four days of release, marking a 57% viewership increase from Season 1. This certainly leaves the show in good standing heading into the upcoming third season, which is set to hit Netflix on August 6.

Which Taylor Sheridan
Show Do You Belong In?

Yellowstone Β· Landman Β· Tulsa King Β· Mayor of Kingstown

Four worlds. All of them brutal, complicated, and built on power, loyalty, and the price of survival. Taylor Sheridan doesn’t write heroes β€” he writes people who do what they have to do and live with the cost. Ten questions will reveal which one of his worlds you were made for.

01

Where does your power come from?
In Sheridan’s world, everyone has leverage. The question is what kind.

02

Who do you put first, no matter what?
Loyalty in Sheridan’s universe is always absolute β€” and always costly.

03

Someone crosses a line. How do you respond?
Every Sheridan protagonist has a line. What matters is what happens after it’s crossed.

04

Where do you feel most in your element?
Sheridan’s worlds are as much about place as they are about people.

05

How do you feel about operating in the grey?
Nobody in a Sheridan show has clean hands. The question is how they carry the dirt.

06

What are you actually fighting to hold onto?
Every Sheridan character is fighting a war. The real question is what they’re defending.

07

How do you lead?
Authority in Sheridan’s world is never given β€” it’s established, maintained, and constantly tested.

Mayor of Kingstown

You are a Dutton β€” or you might as well be. You understand that some things are worth protecting at any cost, and that the modern world’s indifference to history, to land, to legacy, is not something you’re willing to accept quietly. You lead from the front, you carry your family’s weight without complaint, and when someone threatens what’s yours, you don’t escalate β€” you finish it. You’re not cruel. But you are absolute. In Yellowstone’s world, that combination of ferocity and loyalty doesn’t make you a villain. It makes you the only thing standing between everything that matters and everyone who wants to take it.

You thrive in the chaos of high-stakes negotiation, where the money is enormous, the margins are thin, and the wrong word in the wrong room can cost everyone everything. You’re a fixer β€” the person called when a situation is already on fire and needs someone with the nerve to walk into it. West Texas oil country rewards exactly what you are: sharp, adaptable, unsentimental, and absolutely clear-eyed about what people want and what they’ll do to get it. You’re not naive enough to think this world is fair. You’re smart enough to be the one deciding who it’s fair to.

You are a Dwight Manfredi β€” someone who has served their time, paid their dues, and arrived somewhere unexpected with nothing but their reputation and their wits. You adapt without losing yourself. You build loyalty through respect rather than fear, though you’re not above reminding people that the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Tulsa King is for people who are still standing when everyone assumed they’d be finished β€” who find, in an unfamiliar place, that they’re more capable than the world gave them credit for. You don’t need a throne. You build one, wherever you happen to land.

You carry the weight of a system that is broken by design, and you do it anyway β€” because someone has to, and because you’re the only one positioned to do it without the whole thing collapsing. Mike McLusky’s world is for people who are comfortable operating where there are no good options, only less catastrophic ones. You speak every language: law enforcement, criminal, political, human. That fluency makes you invaluable and it makes you a target. You’ve made your peace with both. Mayor of Kingstown belongs to people who understand that keeping the peace is not the same as being at peace β€” and who do the job regardless.

β€œHalf of her body had no strength. So [I] immediately took her to the doctor,” he shared via Instagram on Tuesday. β€œWhen we got to the doctor, they did tell us her levels were normal in the sense of no high blood pressure. Which was strange to the doctor because she said usually with stuff like this, she knew with the symptoms that it was something with the brain, but it was strange given her age and also the fact that she didn’t have high blood pressure, which would be a huge symptom for that.”

13 Action Movies That Were So Good, Hollywood Spent Decades Copying Them

Published

on

Bruce Willis as John McClane looking down through a broken glass window in Die Hard, 1988.

From epic fight scenes to high-octane thrills, action films are a favorite genre because of the exhilarating adrenaline rush they provide. Throughout cinematic history, action films have evolved not only with technological advancements but also through the stories they tell and the variables that define the genre.

Many filmmakers strive to execute perfection, but achieving that high bar can be exceedingly difficult, especially when you have near-flawless movies to compare to. When it comes to action thrillers, the films on this list are simply exceptional. So much so that they’ve become the blueprint others look to. From fight styles to historical thrillers, these movies’ influence is so rich that you can tell when future films pay tribute to them. It’s time to honor the brilliant action films that truly packed a bunch and went out with a bang.

While there will always be debate over whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie, there is no debate about how spectacular an action movie it is. Directed by John McTiernan, based on the novel Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp, the film follows New York City police detective John McClane (Bruce Willis) as he becomes entangled in a terrorist plot to seize control of a Los Angeles skyscraper during a Christmas Eve party. Helping to redefine the genre, Die Hard became a beloved film thanks to the everyman character Willis played, especially against one of the most recognizable villains, Hans Gruber, portrayed by Alan Rickman.

The exciting thriller finds a strong balance of humor, suspense, and non-stop action that leads into the high-stakes situation. The action in Die Hard is primarily contained within the Nakatomi Plaza building, which adds an element of claustrophobic tension β€” there’s no big, wide, open field to fight in. Through smart pacing and genre-blending, Die Hard goes beyond the typical action flick, as bringing romance and comedy into things provide a fulfilling experience. In the ’90s, Die Hard became the blueprint for other heist-based action thrillers like Speed. Without Die Hard and its subsequent sequels, the landscape of action cinema may not be what it is today.

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ (2015)

It’s not the first, nor is it the last, but Mad Max: Fury Road is simply the best in the franchise. Part of the epic George Miller universe, Mad Max: Fury Road brought the iconic post-apocalyptic dystopian action film into the 21st-century universe of filmmaking. No doubt the first three films have a place in history, but looking back, especially compared to the new era of the franchise, they simply do not hold a candle to Mad Max: Fury Road. The fourth installment follows Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), who joins forces with Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) against warlord Immortan (Hugh Keays-Byrne) and his army. Setting out on a large-spanning road battle in the desert wasteland where petrol and water are scarce commodities, Mad Max: Fury Road is a relentless thrill ride that keeps your heart racing from start to finish.

With a large majority of film fans calling it the best action movie of all time, there’s certainly no denying its expansive impact on blockbuster films today. Visually dynamic with compelling imagery, Mad Max: Fury Road is an example of a thriller that redefines how certain movies can get away with a character-driven story. Yes, there is a plot with clear and present objectives, but we come to the film for the explosive action and the visceral, immersive experience. Miller makes you feel as if you’ve stepped into this exuberant environment of dust, sand, and road rage. With eccentric characters and compelling themes, Mad Max: Fury Road is visual storytelling at its finest. Never feeling monotonous, the film left viewers craving more. Luckily, Miller delivered.

‘Seven Samurai’ (1954)

To earn the title of a masterpiece goes beyond the basics of the work itself β€” it must be evocative enough that its inspiration can point back to the piece. In the world of Japanese action films, all roads lead back to Seven Samurai. Directed by Akira Kurosawa, Seven Samurai transports audiences to the Sengoku period of Japanese history, telling the story of a village of desperate farmers who hire a samurai to combat bandits who return after the harvest to steal their crops. Tackling themes of honor, duty, class, and camaraderie, the action-packed film is rooted in a rich and profound human drama.

The epic unfolds in three parts β€” the recruitment, the training, and the battle against the bandits β€” yet never wavers from its mission to pursue ambitiously innovative storytelling. The film doesn’t solely rely on flashy fight scenes. They’re earned by tying them back to the emotional stakes and overall compassion you have for the samurai and the villagers. Even Kurosawa’s filmmaking techniques are profound for the time, providing an emotionally charged immersion.

We live in a time when remakes and reboots come naturally, so it should come as no shock that Seven Samurai has inspired not only Japanese films but also Western action flicks. The most resounding example was the Western remake, The Magnificent Seven. Though samurai were swapped out for gun-slinging cowboys, the heart of the action remained present. Without Seven Samurai, we likely wouldn’t even have epic team-up films like The Avengers. As I said, all roads lead back to it.

‘The Matrix’ (1999)

Just at the turn of the century, the entire realm of science fiction was reshaped thanks to the sheer brilliance of The Matrix. The brainchild of visionary directors, the Wachowskis, we entered the Matrix and, in a manner of speaking, we’ve never left. One of the most influential films for its story, filmmaking, and special effects, the groundbreaking movie follows computer hacker Neo (Keanu Reeves), who discovers that the reality he knows is actually an elaborate simulation created by intelligent machines. In turn, Neo learns that humans are unknowingly enslaved by these machines to serve as a power source in the real world. Led by Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), Neo joins a rebel group that all believe him to be “The One.” If he is what they believe him to be, then Neo is the prophesied individual who has the power to manipulate the Matrix and free humanity from its grip.

Science fiction at the forefront, with martial-arts-centric action woven in, the Wachowskis instilled a deep philosophical theme about the nature of reality, free will versus determinism, and the search for truth. Perhaps the moment we’ll all forever recall is the bullet-time visuals. No backbend has ever been more exciting and enthralling. Championing the blend of cyberpunk elements with modern philosophy through the guise of a sci-fi martial arts thriller, The Matrix was never too much. It was groundbreaking, and many films since have tried to replicate the massive cultural phenomenon it sparked. Did any film in the franchise reach the peak of the original? That’s up for debate, but there never would have been a franchise had this blueprint not been executed perfectly.

‘The Dark Knight’ (2008)

No single film influenced the superhero genre quite like The Dark Knight. The second entry in the Christopher Nolan Batman reboot, The Dark Knight follows vigilante Batman (Christian Bale), police lieutenant James Gordon (Gary Oldman), and district attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) as they form an unlikely alliance to dismantle organized crime in Gotham City. Their plans are dismantled by the Joker (Heath Ledger), an anarchist mastermind who seeks to test Batman’s limits by pushing him to the brink of what he’ll do to save Gotham City from chaos. The Dark Knight changed cinema forever. From Ledger’s career-defining performance to the way plot and action should go hand in hand in superhero blockbusters, the boom in superhero films changed the moment Nolan introduced the film to the world.

A near-flawless superhero film, The Dark Knight garnered immense praise. Nolan’s dark vision for the film produced a thrilling crime saga that combined real-world commentary with comic-book tropes to craft a complex tale of morality and corruption through the lens of heroism. There’s an explosive intensity in watching the complexity of the psychological battle that can be equally gripping as the physical battles. The Dark Knight is unlike any other superhero film. Chances are, there will never be one better. It’s a modern masterpiece that set the bar to new heights.

It’s the final moment. Everything is on the line. What do you need from your partner right now?
The last question is the most honest one.

Your Partner Has Been Assigned
Your Perfect Partner Is…

Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back β€” for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.

Rambo

Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics β€” he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable β€” one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.

James Bond

Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters β€” and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters β€” when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing β€” Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.

Indiana Jones

Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible β€” but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable β€” and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.

John McClane

Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema β€” a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.

Ethan Hunt

Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability β€” technically, physically, and intellectually β€” and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him β€” and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

When bringing audiences to ancient Rome, it’s almost inevitable that the story will feature some sort of action. When Ridley Scott arrived with Gladiator, our image of ancient Rome was shaped for good. An epic action-adventure period piece, Gladiator answered “yes” to the question, “Are you not entertained?” Gladiator follows Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe), a respected Roman general betrayed by the corrupt new Emperor Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), the son of Emperor Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris), who murders his father to seize the throne. Commodus murders Maximus’s family and enslaves him, forcing him to become a gladiator to seek bloody revenge and restore honor to Rome. As he rises through the ranks of the arena, Maximus is determined to avenge the murders. Through thrilling gladiator battles and rich visuals, the historical drama became the blueprint of every Roman epic that followed. And none, not even the sequel, reached the same thumbs-up.

Loosely based on real events in the Roman Empire, Gladiator made history exciting while revitalizing the epic. What helped differentiate the film from others was the emotional range Crowe and Phoenix brought to it. They give you a reason to invest. Despite the historical setting, the revenge story was universal. As a director, Scott knows how to craft something captivating. Whether in space or in the past, his innate ability to bring an action-filled atmosphere to life is unlike that of many directors. Pair it with Hans Zimmer‘s score, and you’re truly in for a treat. It’s about time we brought a buddy-cop action film to light, and what better film than Lethal Weapon? Directed by Richard Donner, the film follows two mismatched LAPD detectives: Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson), a volatile former Special Forces soldier struggling with suicidal impulses after his wife’s death, and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover), a seasoned homicide sergeant and devoted family man. The pair becomes partners to investigate a young woman’s apparent suicide during the Christmas season. While they clash during their mission, they uncover a massive drug-smuggling ring run by ex-Special Forces mercenaries. Becoming a dynamic duo that set off a media franchise, Lethal Weapon‘s ability to bring comedy to the odd-couple-style action film gave credence to the action style audiences were seeking.

If Die Hard or The Godfather wasn’t your dad’s favorite film, chances are that Lethal Weapon was. With humor built in, Lethal Weapon introduced a necessary amount of over-the-top action. A character-driven study on how unlikely team-ups in police films work wonders, Lethal Weapon may feel dated today, but its influence is timeless. The film may have had moments of lightness amid the action, but its ability to infuse dark elements, including the topic of suicide, helped future action films go beyond big booms. Tackling important themes allowed the genre to level up.

‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ (2000)

Western audiences have always had an affinity for martial arts films, but the fascination exploded after the 2000 epic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Based on Wang Dulu‘s novel of the same name, the film follows two master warriors, Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun-fat) and Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh), who are faced with their greatest challenge when the treasured Green Destiny sword is stolen by a mysterious thief β€” the fiery, rebellious aristocrat Jen Yu (Zhang Ziyi). A breathtaking action film that pushes the genre’s boundaries, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon tackles poignant themes of duty, desire, and hidden potential.

Ang Lee‘s martial arts film blended action with romance. They may not seem like a formidable pair, but they are, just like the fight choreography that utilizes a balletic approach. The gravity-defying action brought Western audiences to the cinema, where they were met with an action-thriller style they likely hadn’t seen before. Introducing wuxia, known as martial arts fantasy, to a global audience paved the way for other Asian films. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon isn’t just an action flick; it’s a visually spectacular, emotionally resonant film that brought cinema some of its most iconic fight sequences.

‘John Wick’ (2014)

It’s safe to say that when you employ Keanu Reeves for an action film, it’s going to be something extraordinary. If we simply look at this list alone, Reeves is the greatest action star. Whether you believe it or not, he claimed his stake in the conversation upon taking the titular role in 2014’s John Wick. Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick follows the legendary retired hitman as he’s pulled back into the criminal underworld he left behind after sadistic mobster Iosef Tarasov (Alfie Allen) and his thugs steal his car and kill the puppy, a final gift from his recently deceased wife. John unleashes the remorseless killing machine within and sparks a relentless quest for vengeance that uncovers the secret world of assassins and their strict rules. Marrying the mythology of the criminal underworld with stylish direction, well-choreographed fight scenes, and committed performances, the practical action thriller became a standout modern hit that launched a newfound action franchise.

Having the steadfast Reeves in the central role, it was a shoo-in that the film would garner attention. His strong performance proved that John Wick was a triumphant return to form for the actor. With strong material and a bold vision around him, Reeves helped to amplify the action genre again, as he did with The Matrix. As a clean and kinetic film, John Wick benefited from viral word-of-mouth, helping launch it to the peak of contemporary action films. With Marvel essentially taking over the action blockbusters in the 2010s, John Wick reinvigorated the action-thriller genre.

Now, some of you die-hard James Bond fans might be perplexed as to why it would take Daniel Craig‘s first time as 007 to earn the moniker of a blueprint masterpiece. Others may understand completely. Either way, fans are united that Casino Royale is an extraordinary film that may be one of the best in the entire franchise. Examining what came before and after, Casino Royale supercharged the franchise while imploring future spy thrillers to match the execution of Martin Campbell‘s action movie. Casino Royale finds Bond as he’s sent to Madagascar, where he discovers a link to Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), a financier of terrorist organizations. Learning that he is to raise money for a high-stakes poker game, Bond heads to Montenegro as he sets out to bankrupt him at the table. As he sets out to defeat his new enemy, he falls in love with Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), a British Treasury agent, who becomes entangled in a dangerous cat-and-mouse game.

Years after Die Another Day, Craig rebooted the franchise despite his divisive casting. Nevertheless, he tackled the role with extraordinary vigor. Despite the boyish good looks, he was still rough around the edges, making him an engaging character. Between his devastatingly wonderful chemistry with Green’s Vesper as well as his ability to elevate Mikkelsen’s Le Chiffre into a formidable and terrifying presence, Craig proved his worth as the 21st-century Bond. As we await his replacement, filling Craig’s shoes will be a difficult task, but what’s clear is that Craig changed how Bond films should be tackled. No longer was the franchise leaning on campy action β€” instead, it appealed to modern audiences who sought graphic, visceral action sequences. And Casino Royale delivered. It was a complete game-changer.

Bosch Franchise Star’s Forgotten Bruce Lee Parody Is a Surprise Netflix Hit 19 Years Later

Published

on

0142207_poster_w780.jpg

The Bosch universe grew once again in 2025 with arguably its most impressive spin-off yet. After seven seasons of Prime Video dominance for Titus Welliver‘s original Los Angeles Police Department Detective, the sequel series Bosch: Legacy proved just as successful, although shockingly was sent packing after just three seasons. However, this was to make room for Ballard, the latest spin-off starring Maggie Q, and the first in the Bosch universe to be led by a woman.

The series follows LAPD Detective RenΓ©e Ballard, who was introduced towards the end of Bosch: Legacy, as she struggles to lead an underfunded cold-case division. A magnetic police procedural that has earned near-universal praise from critics and fans alike, Ballard was unsurprisingly renewed for a second season, which is expected to premiere either later this year or early in 2027. Possibly Q’s greatest performance yet, fans can’t wait for Ballard to return to the Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD). In the meantime, one of the actor’s lesser-known movies is making its way to the world’s biggest streamer.

The movie in question is Balls of Fury, a ping-pong movie that is less Marty Supreme and more Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. A harmless yet rather unconvincing comedy from director Robert Ben Garant β€” a year after he wrote Night at the Museum β€” Balls of Fury was poorly received by critics, despite Q’s stand-out, scene-stealing energy. Dan Fogler of Fantastic Beasts fame stars in his first lead role, joined by the likes of George Lopez, Christopher Walken, Terry Crews, and more. Almost two decades on, Balls of Fury will be available to stream on Netflix in the U.S., starting August 1.

Your Assignment Has Been Made
You Belong In…

Your answers have pointed to one fictional hospital above all others. This is the ward your instincts, your temperament, and your particular brand of dysfunction were built for.

Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center

The Pitt

You are built for the most unsparing version of emergency medicine television has ever shown β€” one that puts you inside a single fifteen-hour shift and doesn’t let you look away.

  • You need your work to be real, not romanticised β€” meaning over drama, honesty over aesthetics.
  • You find purpose inside the work itself, not in the chaos surrounding it.
  • You’ve made peace with the fact that this job takes from you constantly, and gives back in ways that are harder to name.
  • Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center demands exactly that kind of person β€” and you would not want to be anywhere else.

County General Hospital, Chicago

ER

You are the person who keeps the whole floor running β€” not the most brilliant in the room, but possibly the most essential.

  • You show up, do the work, absorb the losses, and come back the next day without needing the job to be anything other than what it is.
  • You care about patients as individual human beings, not as cases to solve or dramas to live through.
  • You believe in the system even when it fails you β€” and you understand that emergency medicine is about holding the line just long enough.
  • ER is television about endurance. You have it.

Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, Seattle

Grey’s Anatomy

You came to medicine with your whole self β€” your ambition, your emotions, your relationships, your history β€” and you have never quite managed to leave any of it at the door.

  • You feel things fully and form deep attachments to the people you work with.
  • Your personal and professional lives are permanently, chaotically entangled β€” and that entanglement drives both your greatest disasters and your most remarkable saves.
  • You understand that extraordinary medicine often happens at the intersection of clinical skill and profound human connection.
  • It’s messy at Grey Sloan. You would not have it any other way.

Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, NJ

House

You are drawn to the problem above everything else β€” the symptom that doesn’t fit, the diagnosis hiding underneath the obvious one.

  • You’re not primarily motivated by the patient as a person β€” though you are capable of caring, even if you’d deny it.
  • You work best when the stakes are highest and the standard answer is wrong.
  • Princeton-Plainsboro exists to house one extraordinary, impossible mind β€” and everyone around that mind is there because they’re smart enough to keep up.
  • The only way forward here is to think harder than everyone else in the room. That is exactly what you do.

Sacred Heart Hospital, California

Scrubs

You understand that medicine is tragic and absurd in almost equal measure β€” and that the only sane response is to hold both of those things at the same time.

  • You are warm, self-aware, and funnier than most people in your field.
  • You use humour to get through terrible moments β€” and at Sacred Heart, that’s not a flaw, it’s a survival strategy.
  • You lean on the people around you and let them lean back. The laughter and the grief are genuinely inseparable here.
  • Scrubs is a show about learning to become someone worthy of the job. You are still very much in the middle of that process β€” which is exactly right.

How Did ‘Balls of Fury’ Perform at the Box Office?

Back in 2007, comedies proved to be much more successful at the box office than they are today. Although the production budget for Balls of Fury has not been publicly disclosed, its global haul of $41 million is relatively strong, considering its poor critical performance. The movie opened in late August 2007, managing to take third place in the domestic ranks in its first weekend, outperforming the likes of The Bourne Ultimatum and Rush Hour 3.

Balls of Fury is streaming on Netflix starting August 1. Stay tuned to Collider for all the latest streaming stories.

β€˜Game of Thrones’ Meets β€˜Lord of the Rings’ in Guy Ritchie’s Failed Fantasy Franchise-Starter

Published

on

King Arthur Legend of the Sword Movie Poster

2026 has been a wild year so far for Guy Ritchie, who has found success with projects like Young Sherlock but struggled with other projects such as In The Grey. The former is a Prime Video original series that was dropped as a binge back in March, and after spending weeks in the global streaming top 10, Prime Video picked up Young Sherlock for Season 2 β€” and cameras are already rolling, ensuring that it will be back before the end of next year. As for In The Grey, the star power of Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal wasn’t enough to get the film off the ground at the box office. Poor reviews led to it flopping hard before going on to seek redemption on VOD platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV.

Like any director who has been making movies as long as Guy Ritchie, he’s had plenty of hits and misses over the years. One of his most infamous misfires came back in 2017 with the launch of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, the historical action epic starring Charlie Hunnam in the titular role. There were much larger plans for King Arthur to start a massive franchise, but after the film bombed at the box office, earning only $149 million against a $175 million budget, these were permanently canceled. Almost 10 years removed from its theatrical release, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is still without a streaming home in America, but the film has resurfaced in the VOD top 10 in a handful of countries around the world on both Prime Video and Apple TV.

The Maester Has Spoken
Your House Is…

Your answers point to the great house whose words, values, and way of surviving in Westeros match your own. Bend the knee β€” or don’t. That’s very much up to you.

Winterfell Β· The North

🐺 House Stark

Winter is Coming β€” and you have always known it. You prepare not out of fear but out of duty, because the people who depend on you deserve someone who takes the long view.

  • You lead with honour even when it costs you, because you understand that a reputation built on integrity is the only one worth having.
  • Your loyalty to family and people runs deep β€” not as sentiment but as a code that doesn’t bend when things get difficult.
  • The North endures because Starks endure β€” not by being the cleverest players in the game, but by being the kind of people others are willing to follow into the cold.
  • You are that kind of person. The pack survives. The lone wolf dies. You already know which one you are.

Casterly Rock Β· The Westerlands

🦁 House Lannister

You understand the game β€” its rules, its exceptions, and exactly when the rules become the exception. You play it without illusions and without apology.

  • You are sharper than most people realise, and you have learned to use that gap to your advantage.
  • A Lannister always pays their debts β€” and you always keep your word, because your word is an instrument of power, and instruments must be kept in working order.
  • You love your family with a ferocity that sometimes blinds you, and you know it, and you do it anyway.
  • The lion doesn’t concern itself with the opinion of sheep. Neither, in the end, do you.

Dragonstone Β· The Iron Throne

πŸ‰ House Targaryen

You carry a sense of destiny that is difficult to explain and impossible to ignore β€” the feeling that you are not simply participating in the world but meant to reshape it.

  • You are capable of extraordinary things, and you know it, and that knowledge is both your greatest strength and your most dangerous quality.
  • Fire and blood are not just words to you β€” they are a philosophy about what change requires and what it costs.
  • The Targaryens at their best were transformative rulers who broke chains and defied the limits of what anyone thought possible.
  • At your best, so are you. The dragon has three heads. You are one of them.

Storm’s End Β· The Stormlands

🦌 House Baratheon

You are a force β€” direct, powerful, and difficult to ignore when you enter a room or a conflict. You do not negotiate with challenges. You meet them.

  • Ours is the fury β€” and yours is a kind of intensity that commands attention, respect, and occasionally fear from those who underestimate what’s behind it.
  • You value strength and straight dealing. You’d rather know where you stand in a fight than navigate a web of courtly whispers.
  • The Baratheons built their house on the back of one of the greatest military victories in Westerosi history β€” and then struggled with what came after.
  • The lesson of your house is that winning is not the end of the story. Governing is. You are learning that too.

Highgarden Β· The Reach

🌹 House Tyrell

You understand that power does not always announce itself β€” that sometimes it arrives with flowers, good wine, and a smile that doesn’t quite reach the eyes.

  • Growing strong is your house’s motto, and you live it: patiently, strategically, always investing in the relationships and resources that will matter most when it counts.
  • You are charming by choice and calculating by nature β€” a combination that makes you one of the most effective players in any room you enter.
  • The Tyrells fed King’s Landing and shaped its politics without ever sitting on the Iron Throne β€” and they were arguably more powerful for it.
  • You know that the person who controls the food controls the kingdom. And you always know where the food is.

What Is β€˜King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ About?

After the pair exchanged words, Brady reached over and delivered an open-handed slap, prompting New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns to step in between them.

Brady later poked fun at the moment via X, referring to Paul as a β€œdork” as he posted footage of the exchange.

The Word “Binge-Worthy” Is Overused, but These 10 Netflix Shows Actually Are

Published

on

Claudia from The Dragon Prince pointing at herself and smiling confidently

β€œBinge-worthy” has definitely become one of the most overused words in streaming, mainly used for trending shows that have a decent hook and a popular cast. A series is only truly bingeable when it creates a strong enough pull to make stopping feel like a real chore, whether through layered mysteries, cliffhangers, compelling characters, short episodes, or a constant sense that the next chapter might reveal something that inspires the urge to know what happens next.

Examples of Netflix gems that have actually earned the label binge-worthy are series like Black Mirror, which is an anthology knock-out that offers episode after episode of bleak takes on society’s collapse due to technological advancements, and the underrated fantasy series, Locke & Key, that keeps viewers engaged with its growing supernatural danger, chilling mystery, and family secrets. Both, along with the rest on this list, are prime, bingeable Netflix shows that have what it takes to wield the title and make it feel incredibly difficult not to watch just one more episode.

The Dragon Prince follows the aftermath of King Harrow of Katolis’ betrayal and murder as his son, Ezran (Sasha Rojen), and stepson, Callum (Jack De Sena), flee with an elven assassin named Rayla (Paula Burrows).

The Dragon Prince wields imaginative storytelling capable of hooking anyone in. With its 20-minute-long episodes filled with wonder and ending on mini-cliffhangers, the series stands as the ideal addictive binge-watch. Fans have often praised The Dragon Prince for its vibrant characters, stunning pacing season after season, and epic fantasy that never grows dull. It’s honestly the perfect blend of action, comedy, and heartfelt moments that definitely warrants a good marathon viewing.

‘Mindhunter’ (2019)

Jonathan Groff in Mindhunter

Mindhunter may not seem like an easy binge based on its premise, but it is actually quite a bingeable series that wields a remarkable amount of momentum. Set in the late 1970s, the crime drama centers on FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) as they study the minds of serial killers and set the foundation for criminal profiling methods.

Mindhunter is no doubt unsettling at times, but its dialogue and the ever-growing suspense that it wields make it incredibly binge-worthy. It’s perfect for viewers who adore a good psychological watch and the study of killersβ€”which can tend to be eerily engrossing for most. Each entry to the one-season wonder propels viewers to continue, fans finding it just as addictive as it is haunting. Mindhunter is genuinely any true-crime enthusiast’s dream watch, marking it as a true dynamite bingeing experience.

‘Disenchantment’ (2018–2023)

This animated fantasy may have a great, relaxed comedy feel to casually put on, but its larger fantasy narrative makes it a truly entertaining binge that steadily builds its mythology. Disenchantment focuses on the rebellious royal Princess Tiabeanie β€œBean” (Abbi Jacobson), in the medieval kingdom of Dreamland, as she dreams of a simple party life rather than doing her actual princess duties.

While humorously satirizing fairy-tale tropes with modern sensibilities, ranging from celebrity parodies to political satire, Disenchantment delivers a rather clever adventure. It’s a witty watch with short episodes that often leave the protagonist and her friends in quite a few unusual predicaments, which tends to make viewing it quite addictive. Disenchantment is a Netflix gem that uses its combination of smart and slapstick jokes, alongside its ongoing plot threads, to keep its momentum going, making it the ideal binge-worthy experience.

‘Black Mirror’ (2011–Present)

Black Mirror is an amazing anthology series that delivers a cautionary tale with a shocking twist in most of its episodes. The series provides viewers with standalone episodes that explore twisted, often dystopian visions of technology and society.

Despite how bleak Black Mirror gets, it stands as the ultimate binge material because most viewers simply can’t help their morbid fascination with how each episode will turn out. Both its format and twists make for a continuously interesting viewing experience. The series is episode after episode of true creativity, wielding a structured chaos that audiences can’t help but continue to lock into. Black Mirror is definitely a brilliant approach to the haunting possibilities of the future, with a splash of whimsy, that keeps up its momentum in each episode, making it a great pick for this list.

This amazing miniseries may have a short run time, but it stands as highly bingeable indeed. The Queen’s Gambit focuses on an orphaned chess prodigy named Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor-Joy) as she grows from a difficult childhood into the intensely competitive world of professional chess, all the while battling depression, loneliness, and addiction.

The Queen’s Gambit is definitely binge-worthy material due to its short and sweet format. It’s a limited series that is incredibly compelling: seven episodes of pure entertainment drama. From its evocative soundtrack and stylish 1960s setting to Taylor-Joy’s captivating performance, The Queen’s Gambit doesn’t just hold the title of a binge-worthy masterpiece that sparked a passion for chess; it’s also a near-perfect Netflix original that is a true masterclass in addictive television.

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.

‘Dark’ (2017–2020)

Dark is a complex German sci-fi series that only seems to offer up answers that tend to spark many more questions. The sci-fi thriller TV series centers around the small town of Winden, where the disappearances of children begin to unlock the dark secrets spanning four estranged families.

Dark is pure entertainment, and for viewers who are looking to binge an elaborate puzzle of a series, it’s truly the perfect watch. Very few shows on the Netflix platform weaponize confusion as effectively as Dark does, sparking an interest in its audience as they work on deciphering the mystery that is the series. Dark is actually extremely binge-worthy because of its emotional intensity and labyrinthine plot. It’s an underrated sci-fi gem that sits among some of the best in the genre, and it may not be a truly passive viewing experience, but it stands as one extremely difficult to stop.

‘Locke & Key’ (2020–2022)

This terribly underrated fantasy series’ premise is practically built for binge-watching. Based on Joe Hill’s graphic novels, Locke & Key follows the Locke siblings, Tyler (Connor Jessup), Kinsey (Emilia Jones), and Bode (Jackson Robert Scott), who move with their mother, Nina (Darby Stanchfield), to their ancestral home, Keyhouse, after their father’s death.

Locke & Key may not seem like the thrilling mystery that it truly is, but once begun, it forces its viewers into an increasingly captivating web of danger, magic, family secrets, and mysterious keys. The series is so highly bingeable because each episode reveals one new key or escalates the fight against vicious foes, ending with an interesting discovery that compels audiences to watch just one more. Locke & Key is a three-season banger with 10 episodes, with each one practically inviting back-to-back viewing sessions and delivering a truly addictive blend of fantasy, suspense, and mystery.

3

‘Lucifer’ (2016–2021)

Lucifer may not have gotten its start on the iconic streaming platform Netflix, but it definitely found its home there as a binge-worthy success. The series centers on the literal devil, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), who abandons hell for Los Angeles to run a nightclub, and eventually begins helping detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) solve crimes.

Lucifer blends mythology and humor with procedural crime drama and delivers a rather thrilling supernatural ride. The series is a completed gem that’s proved to be exceptionally binge-worthy for both its charm and wit. Netflix’s revival after fans’ strong reaction to the series’ impending cancellation reflects how addictive a watch it truly is. Each episode of Lucifer offers a new case and progression in the highly angsty relationship between Chloe and Lucifer, making it almost impossible not to keep watching.

2

‘Teenage Bounty Hunters’ (2020)

This underrated teen drama series is surprisingly one of Netflix’s most entertaining series despite its abrupt cancelation. Teenage Bounty Hunters centers around fraternal twins Sterling (Maddie Phillips) and Blair Wesley (Anjelica Bette Fellini), who somehow find themselves in the world of bounty hunting after totaling their father’s truck.

Teenage Bounty Hunters is a genuinely appealing surprise with an addictively entertaining premise that makes it easy to binge in one sitting. The only true disappointment about the series is that it isn’t very well known and would never receive a second season. Despite this, Teenage Bounty Hunters earns its spot on this list because, by the end of all the character drama and laugh-out moments, most viewers want more. From the show’s fast-paced narrative to the chemistry between sisters, the series stands as a clever blend of crime caper and teen comedy that has given it a cult status as the ultimate binge.

Sense8 is the truest binge-worthy gem that simply doesn’t receive the attention it deserves. The sci-fi masterpiece follows eight strangers across the globe who find themselves mentally and emotionally connected, allowing them to share the most vulnerable parts of themselves as well as face eventual danger.

Sense8 is incredibly immersive with its fantastic storytelling, amazing characters, and unforgettable action. It’s a binge-worthy sci-fi great that wields pure ambition as it delivers a stunning premise that not only celebrates love and connection but also explores empathy and hope in the face of division. Sense8 has even earned itself a devoted following despite not being very well known, with fans loving it so much that they successfully campaigned for the Netflix banger to see a lengthy conclusion. Each episode offers viewers a worthy cliffhanger that drives them forward to seek more of the show’s addictive story, making it a unique and fantastic validator for the word binge-worthy.

Say Goodbye to Alan Ritchson’s Most Unexpected Movie on Streaming

Published

on

Alan Ritchson in the snow in Ordinary Angels

There can be no doubt that Alan Ritchson is among the biggest stars to come out of the streaming industry in the last half a decade. Ritchson emerged in the spotlight thanks to a lead role in the hit Prime Video series Reacher, after which he was cast in major projects such as Fast X, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and this year’s sci-fi hit War Machine, which has since become one of the most-watched Netflix originals ever made. Ritchson is set to return to the action genre this month, with the upcoming film Motor City, which will be released on July 24. Before that, his fans can check out one of his rare dramatic performances in a movie that’s currently streaming on Peacock in the United States, but will be removed from the platform soon.

The movie was released theatrically in 2024 by Lionsgate, grossing around $20 million worldwide against a reported budget of $13 million. Directed by House of David’s Jon Gunn, the film also features Oscar winner Hilary Swank and was based on true events that took place in the mid-1990s. The movie received highly positive reviews, and is now sitting at a β€œCertified Fresh” 84% critics’ score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score, as with most faith-based movies, is even higher, at a near-perfect 99%.

Collider Exclusive Β· Action Hero Quiz
Which Action Hero Would Be
Your Perfect Partner?

Rambo Β· James Bond Β· Indiana Jones Β· John McClane Β· Ethan Hunt

Five legends. Five completely different ways of getting out alive β€” with style, with muscle, with charm, with luck, or with a plan so intricate it probably shouldn’t work. Ten questions will reveal which action hero was built to have your back.

πŸŽ–οΈRambo

🍸James Bond

🏺Indiana Jones

πŸ”§John McClane

🎭Ethan Hunt

01

You’re dropped into a dangerous situation with no warning. What do you need most from a partner?
The first few seconds tell you everything about who belongs beside you.

02

You have to get somewhere dangerous, fast. How do you travel?
How you get there is half the mission.

03

You’re pinned down and outnumbered. What does your ideal partner do?
This is when you find out what someone is really made of.

04

The mission is paused. You have one evening to decompress. What does your partner suggest?
Who someone is when the pressure drops is who they actually are.

05

How do you prefer your partner to communicate mid-mission?
Good communication is the difference between partners and a liability.

06

Your enemy is powerful, well-resourced, and has the upper hand. How should your partner approach them?
The approach to the enemy defines the partnership.

07

Things go badly wrong and you’re captured. What do you trust your partner to do?
Who someone is when you need them most is the only thing that matters.

08

What does your ideal partner bring to the table that you couldn’t replace?
A great partner fills the gap you didn’t know you had.

09

Every partnership has a cost. Which of these can you live with?
No one comes without baggage. The question is whether you can carry it together.

10

Watch Alan Ritchson’s Dramatic Movie on Peacock Before It Leaves

We’re talking about Ordinary Angels, whose Rotten Tomatoes consensus reads, β€œWith a dash of grace and circumstance, this sweet display of humanity is stabilized by Hilary Swank in a role that plays to the heartstrings of all Ordinary Angels.” The movie has become a home-video hit since its theatrical run, no doubt benefiting from that incredible Rotten Tomatoes audience score. You can check it out on Peacock before it’s removed from the platform on July 21. Motor City will be released theatrically three days later, and Ritchson is also expected to reprise his role as Reacher in the upcoming spin-off series Neagley. A fourth season of the main show is in the works as well. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Jennifer Garner always seems to know exactly when to zig while everyone else zags. While trend cycles keep pushing barrel legs, extreme cuts and experimental denim, she stepped out in a timeless pair of dark-wash jeans that reminded me why some styles never lose their appeal.

During a New York City outing, The Five-Star Weekend actress paired a navy polo sweater with brown pumps, oversized sunglasses and classic dark-wash jeans. The effortless outfit proves that sometimes the most stylish choices you make are ones you’ll happily wear for years, and the denim look is actually available on Amazon.

Her pants look remarkably similar to the Levi’s Ribcage Full-Length Jeans, a timeless pair that delivers the same rich-looking finish without chasing fleeting trends. The deep indigo wash, clean silhouette and polished feel make them work just as well with loafers and a tee as they do with heels and a knit sweater.

There’s something about Kate Middleton’s jewelry that always manages to steal the spotlight. While her outfits are undeniably elegant, it’s often the finishing accessories that make them feel truly timeless. Her latest pair of clover-inspired earrings is no exception, instantly adding a sophisticated touch to an already stunning look. The Princess of Wales proved it […]

So what makes these jeans look so flattering? Well, it’s mainly the fit. The high-rise waistband creates that sculpted, tucked-in effect, while the slim leg skims the body without feeling restrictive. Made from 99% cotton with 1% elastane, the jeans offer enough stretch for comfort and structure, too.

They’re available in sizes 24 through 32, and come in multiple washes, including white, light wash, black and Garner’s rich dark indigo.

Shoppers say the fit lives up to the hype, too. The jeans have earned over 550 five-star ratings on Amazon, with one reviewer writing that they β€œfit like an absolute dream” and β€œoffer great tummy support and booty support.” Another shopper added, β€œThe quality and style of these jeans are comparable to any of my higher end brand jeans.”

Garner’s outfit is proof that you don’t need ultra-trendy jeans to look current. In fact, a rich-looking dark wash, like this Levi’s style, might be the smartest denim investment you can make, especially if you’re searching for a pair you’ll reach for season after season.

Ridley Scott’s Sci-Fi Masterpiece Surges to #1 on Prime Video Ahead of Sequel Series

Published

on

0153801_poster_w780.jpg

When it comes to sci-fi movies and TV shows, few directors have given as much to the genre as Ridley Scott, who has single-handedly spearheaded some of the most famous franchises of all time. The first franchise that immediately comes to mind is Alien, which first started with Scott’s 1979 sci-fi horror classic, and it is still going strong to this day with Scott’s steady producing hand through his production banner, Scott Free. After going on hiatus from the sci-fi genre in recent years thanks to his work on historical epics like Gladiator II and Napoleon, Scott will return to the world of sci-fi this August for his next feature film, The Dog Stars. Josh Brolin and Jacob Elordi will headline the film, along with Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, and Benedict Wong.

Another famous Ridley Scott sci-fi franchise, albeit one with many fewer entries than Alien, is Blade Runner. Ridley Scott directed the original Blade Runner movie starring Harrison Ford all the way back in 1982, and the franchise went on ice until 2017, when it returned with the legacy sequel, Blade Runner 2049. With the returning star power of Harrison Ford paired with one of Ryan Gosling’s finest performances, Blade Runner 2049 debuted to widespread critical acclaim β€” it’s still regarded as one of the greatest sci-fi sequels in history. Nearly 10 years after Blade Runner 2049 first hit theaters, the film is still without a streaming home in America, but it’s still one of the most popular VOD purchases on platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV. Ridley Scott did not direct the film, but he did produce, and passed directorial control to Denis Villeneuve.
