Courtney Love Says Doctors Told Her She Was Going to Die
Courtney Love is detailing a scary health battle that she previously kept quiet from the public.
In an Instagram post shared on Friday, August 14, Love, 62, said she “almost died” in 2019 and doctors warned her that she may not make it.
The musician recalled the health scare as she gave an update on her latest record.
“A lot of you asking on my record is at. It’s done. It’s kind of been done. It’s a really good record. I put a lot into it,” she said. “I went to England in 2019, and when I went there, you know, my body just exploded. It just exploded, and I was in hospitals a lot. I almost died. I lost all my hair. I was about 100 pounds, and they told me I was going to die, and I didn’t believe them.”
In the video, Love drew parallels to her childhood, explaining why she refused to believe what the doctors were saying to her.
“When I was a kid — I think this record is about this — I used to like, pattern-interrupt the adults, and they’d tell me ‘red.’ They’d say ‘red was blue,’ and then I’d see blue, but blue was blue,” Love said. “So now that I gaslight myself that maybe, maybe they were right and red was blue, and then I would see purple, and my head would explode. Like f**king cope with that sh*t, right? I think some of you can relate to that. And then, anyway, I never really lost my ability to see that f**king that ‘red was red,’ despite them telling me that ‘red was blue.’
Love continued, “And so when they said you’re gonna die, I just didn’t believe them. And somehow I got better. I’m healthy, which is amazing.”
The Hole front woman noted that she “wasn’t public about being sick” at the time and did not detail what caused her health woes.
Love added that she “was fine now” and asked her fans to be patient when it came to her music’s release.
In the post’s caption, Love shared her desire to perform her music now that she is on the mend.
“I wanted to give you an update on my record. When I made it, I believed this was my last record so I made the record I always wanted to make. I was in the hospital mostly but when I wasn’t all I did was write & record it,” she wrote. “I want to tour more than anything. & I want to sing . That’s what keeps my soul & body happy.”

Netflix Is Officially Removing Denzel Washington’s Forgotten Supernatural Crime Thriller
One of the most enduring what-ifs of the last few decades is whether Denzel Washington would have starred in David Fincher’s Se7en. The actor has since expressed regret about not working on the crime classic, which launched Fincher’s career and established Brad Pitt as a bona fide movie star. But Washington’s true feelings about passing on the project can also be extrapolated from his filmography; the actor has starred in at least three movies inspired by Fincher’s classic, almost as if he is trying to make up for the disappointment of not participating in it. The latest in this trio, The Little Things, was released as recently as 2021. The first, however, was released just three years after Se7en. The movie in question is currently streaming in the United States on Netflix, but not for much longer.
Directed by Gregory Hoblit, who was coming off the hit psychological thriller Primal Fear, the movie follows a Philadelphia detective who investigates a series of murders seemingly inspired by the crimes of an executed serial killer. Washington was joined in the cast by John Goodman, Donald Sutherland, and Elias Koteas. The movie was more expensive than Se7en, with a reported budget of more than $45 million. Fincher’s movie, on the other hand, cost a reported $35 million to produce and grossed nearly $330 million worldwide. Washington’s alternative wasn’t as successful. In fact, it was an outright bomb, grossing just around $25 million at the box office.
Watch Denzel Washington’s ‘Se7en’ Dupe on Netflix Before It’s Removed
We’re talking about the 1998 thriller Fallen. The movie received mediocre reviews and is now sitting at a 43% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “Has an interesting premise. Unfortunately, it’s just a recycling of old materials, and not all that thrilling.” The movie is currently available on Netflix, but it’ll be removed from the service on August 31. Washington’s The Little Things, which also featured Rami Malek and Jared Leto, is streaming on HBO Max. Meanwhile, the actor’s third attempt at mimicking Se7en, this time alongside Angelina Jolie, The Bone Collector, is streaming on Starz. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Marshals Has Cast Changes After Season 2 Exit Concerns
Marshals will look a bit different when it returns for season 2 after some cast shakeups.
Deadline confirmed that the Yellowstone spinoff, which is currently back in production in Utah, will feature more seasons with Cal’s (Logan Marshall-Green) estranged daughter, Maddie (Morgan Lindholm).
Lindholm’s expanded role comes after Maddie was introduced in season 1 as a bartender with a surprising connection to Cal. She later started dating Miles (Tatanka Means), which will also continue to be explored.
The show also cast Marque Richardson in a recurring role as Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Burns. Ahead of the cast evolving, CBS released a first look at season 2 in which Kayce (Luke Grimes), Miles, Andrea (Ash Santos) and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) were featured — but Cal and Belle (Arielle Kebbel) were noticeably missing.
During the season 1 finale, which aired in May, Andrea was offered a job that would take her from Montana to Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, Belle and Cal were on a mission when they got ambushed — with Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey) involved in the potentially deadly situation.
It wasn’t clear whether Belle and Cal were killed off screen despite the show being renewed for season 2. Marshall-Green, 49, and Kebbel, however, hinted to The Hollywood Reporter that they have begun filming season 2.

“I can confirm [Cal] is alive, but not necessarily unscathed,” Marshall-Green told the outlet. “I think I can confirm that for everybody in the damn show, because everybody’s going through it by the end of this thing. I’m hours away of shooting [season 2, episode 1]. I can tell you that we’re all going through things — without giving anything away.”
Kebbel also weighed in, saying, “I am a part of season 2, yes. We start filming [season 2] with a pick up of that [finale] moment. My head is so deep into season 2 already.”
The actress recalled her initial reaction to the finale script.
“After reading that big cliffhanger, I should have asked myself if Belle survives! But the truth is that I’m so used to Belle being in precarious situations almost every episode,” she noted. “And even though both Belle and Cal are there, it felt in that moment that, because Cal is in front, he’s the one in more in danger. I’m behind him, based on where we ended the episode. So when I read it, my head went to, ‘What’s going to happen to Cal?’”
Looking ahead, Marshall-Green made it clear he has no plans to leave the show, adding, “I love employment! I love steady income, and I love more than anything this crew and this cast. I could easily see myself making this show for many years.”
He continued: “Now — where is the story juiciest, now that we’re dealing with a subject matter like cancer? I don’t wanna sugarcoat it. I don’t want kid gloves on. I don’t want a safe approach. I want Cal to go through it, because I think that is the duty to these men and women who come back from uniform.”
Marshall-Green had hope in the show’s creative team.
“And maybe there’s a way, with the advancement of treatments, to have both worlds. But really, in the end, it’s about what stories are left to tell,” he continued. “That’s up to Yana Grebenyuk Spencer [Hudnut] and the writers, and also Luke [Grimes]. Luke’s been playing this role for a long time. But I think I can speak for everybody when I say that we love coming to work, and, boy, do we come to work. The first season was a grueling shoot.”
Marshals is streaming on Paramount+ now and returns this fall on CBS.

Guy Ritchie’s Netflix Crime Thriller Officially Returns in 1 Month
2026 has been a roller-coaster of a year for Guy Ritchie, who had to deal with yet another box office flop with In The Grey. Despite some big-time star power in Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal, In The Grey failed to get off the ground at the box office, but the film has redeemed itself slightly with a run of success on VOD platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV. Ritchie’s last feature film that debuted in theaters, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, also struggled at the box office. Ritchie is set to return soon with the second season of his hit Paramount Plus crime thriller show, MobLand, starring Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan. Before the show premieres on September 18, though, Ritchie has another show coming back sooner to set the stage for its arrival.
In less than one month, on September 3, Ritchie returns to Netflix for the second season of The Gentlemen, starring Theo James. The show is a direct spin-off of the 2019 film of the same name starring Matthew McConaughey and Charlie Hunnam, and it’s quietly become one of Netflix’s most popular shows of the last few years. It was only a few weeks ago that Netflix unleashed the first official teaser trailer for The Gentlemen Season 2, and the final official trailer for the series is expected to be released any day now. In addition to directing episodes of the show with Eran Creevy, Ritchie is also the lead writer and producer on The Gentlemen. Additional cast members for the crime thriller show include Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richarson, Vinnie Jones, and Michael Vu.
What Is ‘The Gentleman’ About?
The official synopsis for The Gentlemen, which holds scores of 75% from critics and 84% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, reads as follows: “Eddie Horniman inherits his family’s aristocratic estate — only to discover it doubles as the operational hub for Britain’s biggest weed empire. Torn between honor and opportunity, he’s pulled into a high-stakes underworld of gangsters, aristocrats, and criminal dynasties all vying for control. Theo James leads as Eddie, with Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, and Vinnie Jones rounding out this stylish, twist-filled saga of crime and class.” The fate of The Gentlemen beyond Season 2 has yet to be decided, but if the show comes back with strong viewership numbers and Ritchie expresses a desire to do more, it’s hard to imagine Netflix turning him down.
Check out the first season of The Gentlemen on Netflix and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Season 2.

Bündchen strolled through the airport wearing a simple white tee, straight-leg jeans and suede boat shoes that gave her casual outfit polished flair. An anti-slip outsole prevents any slip-related mishaps, and a memory-foam insole cushions every step. Another five-star shopper highlighted the versatility. They wrote, “I like how easy they are to pair with anything — pants, skirts and even jeans. They walk that line between professional and cute, making them a great everyday option.”
From errands to work to casual dinners with the girls, these wear-everywhere shoes earn first-pick status for all of the above. And of course, they’re great for the airport.

Clint Eastwood’s Final Crime Thriller Is a Must-Watch for ‘Lincoln Lawyer’ Fans
Now that Clint Eastwood is over 90 years old, and his last movie is a few years in the rearview mirror, it’s safe to say that he’s retired from making films. That doesn’t change the fact that Eastwood will live on in the history books forever as one of the most influential actors and filmmakers of all time, especially in the Western genre, where he influenced other directors like Quentin Tarantino thanks to films like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Clint Eastwood won four Oscars throughout the course of his career, including two for his work directing and producing Million Dollar Baby, which is still hailed as one of his most underrated movies. Eastwood won his other two Oscars for directing and producing Unforgiven (1992) and he was also nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the film.
Similar to an actor or director’s first film, everyone in Hollywood also only gets one last film, and it’s important to make it count. Eastwood did exactly that a few years ago with the release of Juror #2, which earned strong scores of 93% from critics and 90% from audiences on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. The film is the perfect mash-up of The Lincoln Lawyer and A Few Good Men, with courtroom elements heavily at play along with a tough personal decision for the protagonist. Despite strong reviews, Warner Bros. opted not to give Juror #2 a wide theatrical release in America, instead dropping the film to streaming on HBO Max. It’s still one of the most popular watches the platform has to offer, both in America and several other countries.
What Is ‘Juror #2’ About?
The official synopsis for Juror #2, which stars Nicholas Hoult and J.K. Simmons in key roles, reads as follows: “Justin Kemp (Nicholas Hoult) is a juror on a murder trial with a devastating secret: he may be the one responsible for the victim’s death. As deliberations intensify and a rigid prosecutor pushes for conviction, Justin must weigh his conscience against his freedom. Directed by Clint Eastwood, this gripping courtroom thriller asks how far one man will go when justice and self-preservation collide.” Toni Collette and Zoey Deutch also star in key roles in Juror #2, and Eastwood directed the film with a script from Jonathan A. Abrams.

“These are soft as butter, ” one happy shopper wrote. “Very stretchy but not baggy at all, and they flatter my figure so much with the high waist, the pockets and just how they sit on my curves.”

Emilie Kiser Addresses Backlash Over Her Parenting Mistakes
Emilie Kiser is addressing the criticism she continues to face from followers.
Taking to TikTok on Friday, August 14, the content creator, 27, shared a lengthy video to clear up rumors and address the backlash surrounding her and her husband Brady’s parenting decisions.
Emilie, whose 3-year-old son Trigg died last year after drowning in their backyard pool, began the video by admitting she knew she had “made mistakes” and is “an imperfect person.”
“Our family has been no stranger to tragedy, and how quickly life can change. And that’s really all I can say is that we’re no stranger to the worst possible thing happening,” she said.
Emilie said one of the most hurtful rumors being spread is that she and Brady continue to swim in their backyard pool, where Trigg lost his life.
“We have not, we will not and we do not swim in our swimming pool where our child drowned. I am extremely angry at times and overall just really sad and hurt that this is even something that has been rumored or speculated, but I just want it to be known that that is not something that happens in our backyard, and we are barely able to step foot in our backyard,” she said. “So I really hope that that rumor can just end now that I’m addressing it, because especially in the honor of our son and the way that he tragically lost his life, and even having our son in swim lessons is hard. We do not swim in our swimming pool.”
Emilie clarified that her family does now have a fence around their pool, which she acknowledged some people thought was “too little, too late” after Trigg’s death. She also confirmed that her 17-month-old son, Teddy, undertakes ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) lessons.
@emiliekiser Thanks for listening 🤍 Hope you all have a safe and good weekend.
In July, Emilie copped heat for allowing Teddy to not wear a life jacket the entire time the family were on a boat despite the tragedy that occurred with Trigg.
In Friday’s TikTok post, Emilie provided further context of how that choice was made but acknowledged it was the wrong move.
“He was fussy, and we decided to take a few moments to calm him down. And we see now that that was a mistake, and that there is no reason ever why a child should be out of a life jacket, which is why I understand that this is an important conversation that is happening around water safety with life jackets,” she said. “Because even though in the moment it seemed like the right thing to do for our child, I understand that anything could have happened and something could have gone wrong.”
Emilie also spoke candidly and in depth about the mental toll it has taken to have the public judge her every move, even though she is trying to become a better parent moving forward.
“I am exhausted, and it is impossible to prove to people who want to see nothing but the worst in you that you have good intentions, or that you are telling the truth, or that those things are not true,” she said.
Emilie added, “I know that there are always going to be people who are going to take everything I say and twist it, and that has scared me for a long time, especially the last year. I feel like I can’t say anything right. I can’t do anything right. I can’t talk about my grief because if I talk about my grief, then people think I’m doing it with the wrong intentions, or I’m trying to monetize off of it.”

‘Bosch’ Meets ‘True Detective’ in Taylor Sheridan’s 10/10 Crime Thriller Officially Streaming on Netflix
2026 has been a jam-packed year for Taylor Sheridan, but that isn’t that surprising to those who have been following his career for the last few years. In an era where it takes some writers years to pen a single season of television, Sheridan is regularly writing four or five seasons a year, all while overseeing the production of several others. Sheridan’s most popular show sitting at the top of streaming charts right now is Lioness, the spy thriller starring Zoe Saldaña. In addition to streaming in the #1 spot on Paramount Plus, the first few episodes of Lioness are also available to watch on Prime Video for those who are unsure if they want to commit to a subscription. Sheridan has also expanded the Yellowstone universe this year with shows like Marshals and Dutton Ranch, both of which have been renewed with more episodes on the way.
It’s Sheridan’s TV empire at Paramount that has garnered him so much attention in recent years, but long-time followers of his work will recall an earlier time when he was more focused on writing movies than TV shows. Most fans would argue that Sheridan’s most famous movie is Sicario, but Wind River has a strong case for being the most underrated feature of his career. Starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, the film has shades of Bosch and True Detective, with a classic hunt for a dangerous killer centered around two detectives working closely together with a unique banter. Wind River is currently streaming on Netflix in America, and the streamer has not officially announced any plans for it to depart the platform anytime soon.
What Is ‘Wind River’ About?
The official synopsis for Wind River, which earned scores of 87% from critics and 90% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, reads as follows: “A wildlife officer haunted by his own tragedy uncovers a young woman’s death on a remote Wind River Indian Reservation and teams with a rookie FBI agent to hunt her killer. As they navigate the brutal Wyoming wilderness and a community’s buried grief, the investigation exposes a devastating pattern of violence against Native women.” A sequel to Wind River has been officially confirmed, but it’s not returning Jeremy Renner or Elizabeth Olsen. The sequel has wrapped filming, but it’s unclear at this time when it will be released.

Doomsday Special Look at D23
Marvel Studios has officially introduced the next generation of the X-Men.
During the studio’s massive D23 2026 presentation, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed the principal cast of the upcoming X-Men movie, confirming several long-rumored names while also delivering a few major surprises.
The new lineup will feature Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Scott Summers/Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier/Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Ororo Munroe/Storm and Adam Driver as Nathaniel Essex/Mister Sinister.
The cast officially announced by Marvel Studios includes:
- Sadie Sink — Jean Grey
- Kit Connor — Scott Summers/Cyclops
- Christopher Abbott — Charles Xavier/Professor X
- Samara Weaving — Emma Frost
- Inde Navarrette — Rogue
- Maya Boyd — Ororo Munroe/Storm
- Adam Driver — Nathaniel Essex/Mister Sinister
The announcement confirms Sink and Connor as two of the central members of Marvel’s new mutant generation. Sink’s Jean Grey has already begun making her way into the larger MCU through Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while Connor will take over the role of Cyclops, the longtime field leader of the X-Men.
Abbott will become the MCU’s new Professor Charles Xavier, following the character’s previous live-action portrayals by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy.
Weaving joins the franchise as Emma Frost, one of the most complicated characters in X-Men history. Also known as the White Queen, Frost has operated as both an adversary and ally of the X-Men throughout Marvel Comics and eventually became one of the team’s most prominent members.
Navarrette will take on Rogue, the powerful mutant capable of absorbing the memories, abilities and powers of others through physical contact. Boyd, meanwhile, will portray Storm, the weather-controlling mutant who has long been one of the most recognizable and important members of the X-Men.
Perhaps the biggest announcement is Driver, who will portray Mister Sinister.
The longtime X-Men villain, whose real name is Nathaniel Essex, is a brilliant geneticist obsessed with mutant evolution and experimentation. Mister Sinister has repeatedly manipulated the lives and genetics of the X-Men in Marvel Comics, with Cyclops and Jean Grey playing particularly important roles in many of his stories.
Driver’s casting also finally brings Mister Sinister properly to the big screen after years of teases during Fox’s X-Men era that never resulted in a full live-action appearance.
The new X-Men will be directed by Jake Schreier, who previously directed Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*. The film represents a major step in Marvel’s plans for mutants following the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga.
Marvel has spent the last several years gradually introducing mutants while simultaneously bringing back actors from Fox’s original X-Men movies. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming and Kelsey Grammer are among the legacy X-Men stars appearing in Avengers: Doomsday.
Those returning characters could help close the door on the previous generation of X-Men before Marvel Studios fully moves forward with its newly assembled team.
With Jean Grey, Cyclops, Professor X, Emma Frost, Rogue and Storm now confirmed, Marvel has revealed a significant portion of its core X-Men roster. However, several major characters, including Wolverine, Beast, Nightcrawler and Magneto, have yet to be announced for the reboot.
Marvel Studios’ X-Men is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2028.

Taylor Swift Unveils New Wife Look After Travis Kelce Wedding
Taylor Swift has debuted a new look weeks after she got hitched to NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The duo has made few public appearances since their wedding, which made the pop superstar’s recent outing with a new hairdo all the more striking.
It comes after it was revealed that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are set to face “big changes” in their marital life after coming down from the high of their massive MSG nuptials and subsequent honeymoon.

The “New Romantics” singer turned heads after unveiling a hair transformation during an outing in London.
It marked her first solo trip as a married woman following her historic Madison Square Garden wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce.
In her latest outing, Swift looked chic and stunning while exiting Annabel’s, a private members’ club in Mayfair that is usually frequented by British royals and A-list stars.
She wore a short flower-print dress with her locks down to her shoulders to highlight her new haircut, as seen in photos obtained by the Daily Mail.
The trip comes weeks after she and her husband, Kelce, broke cover following their nuptials by attending the wedding ceremony of former Kansas City Chiefs player JuJu Smith-Schuster.
For the event, Swift donned a pink long gown reminiscent of the dress she wore for her recent outing and also flaunted what many believed to be her expensive and massive wedding ring.
See the images of her new hairdo here.
The Singer Has Plans To Release Her Wedding Visuals, As An Insider Shares ‘Major Clue’

It’s been over a month since Swift and Kelce tied the knot, and yet, no official photos from the event have been released, which has left many stunned.
Unlike most celebrities who quickly release images and clips of their wedding ceremony to publications such as People Magazine and Vogue, the singer and footballer seem to be keeping theirs tightly under lock and key.
However, according to an insider, Swift has plans to eventually release visuals from her wedding, noting that she is holding all her images for a special project.
“A big hint that Taylor is going to release her very own project about her wedding is that she has yet to share one single image from the night,” the source said, per the Daily Mail. “By now most celebrities would have posted a wedding look on Instagram or given photos to Vogue. But Taylor has done neither.”
The source continued, “She is holding all the images for her own project, no doubt. She released images from her engagement to Instagram; why won’t she release images from her wedding? So that is a major clue.”

Resurfaced claims about Swift’s alleged plans to release her wedding footage come after an insider clarified that speculation surrounding a potential documentary holds “no truth.”
Although professionals were hired to capture the festivities, the resulting media is said to be strictly meant to preserve personal memories and is expected to stay out of the public eye.
Speaking to Us Weekly about the wedding visuals, the source noted, “They had it documented for themselves but are keeping it private.”
On July 3, Swift and Kelce officially tied the knot in New York City, hosting an extravagant gala with a guest list of roughly 1,000 close friends and relatives.
The grand celebration, held at the iconic Madison Square Garden, was filled with customized details highlighting the couple’s unique shared journey.
Travis Kelce Recently Broke His Silence On His Wedding To The Singer

The lead-up to the couple’s wedding was full of heavy speculation and rumors, with neither Swift nor Kelce sharing any official information about their big day to the public.
In fact, there were reports that guests were made to sign strict NDAs to ensure no one leaked details about the duo’s nuptials.
Now, over a month after the event, Kelce finally broke his silence about his “crazy” wedding, branding it the “best night” of his life.
“It was a fun offseason, man, wedding was the best night of my life and I appreciate everyone who came out and celebrated and had fun with us,” the 36-year-old said during a chat with reporters.
He added, “That’s about all I really got from that night. It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration. But it’s football, baby.”
Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Are Set To Face ‘Big Changes’ In Their Marriage

Following their extravagant New York wedding, Swift and Kelce are now reportedly adjusting to a major shift in routine as they transition “back to reality.”
Since tying the knot, the newlyweds have maintained a remarkably quiet presence. Aside from their joint appearance at Juju Smith-Schuster’s wedding just a week after their own ceremony, the public has caught few glimpses of the couple.
An insider shared insight with Star Magazine regarding how the pair is navigating this post-festivity period.
According to the source, Kelce is “back to being ultra disciplined with his diet and sleep schedule and training. It’s very full-on,” while Swift “knows what to expect and she’s totally happy to support him.”
Melding the rigors of the professional football season with the aftermath of a massive celebration marks a stark contrast for the couple. As the informant noted, “there’s no doubt it’s a big change to go from indulging non-stop to not even having a glass of wine with dinner.”
