So, we’re going to talk about who his next romance might be, including a big hint we got from our favorite leaker. Let’s dive into the dismal state of Brady’s love life and whether he’ll dive into a blast from his past for his next relationship.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Ava Vitali’s Exit and Brady Black’s Single Status
Thursday, April 3rd, was Ava Vitali‘s (Tamara Braun) last day in Salem. Tamara Braun confirmed that she wrapped filming back in July 2024. And her last episode aired this week. The day she exited is the same day EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) was shot, so that doesn’t look good.
Ava cleared a path for her exit already by breaking up with Brady Black. It was pretty easy for Ava to realize that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and their daughter Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) will not ever leave her and Brady in peace. Ava doesn’t want Brady to be at odds with his kid.
Plus, little Rachel kidnapped Ava with her crazy, maniac grandma Rachel Blake’s (Roslyn Gentle) help. EJ and Kristen enabled her captivity. And then Rachel senior hid in Ava’s room and tried to stab her to death.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Brady Dumped
Needless to say, Brady’s girlfriend had quite enough. And she’s done. Ava packed off out of town. That leaves Brady single as a pringle. And guess what? Kristen would love to mingle with him, but Brady just told his sister Belle Black (Martha Madison) that Kristen was like an addiction he had to break, just like with his alcohol abuse issues.
Belle has got her own DiMera addiction issues with EJ, but for now, Brady’s sticking to his guns and vowing he will never ever get back together with Kristen. We’ve seen Brady being very clear with both Kristen and their daughter Rachel on that fact. And I do think he’ll stick with it.
Days of Our Lives: Exploring Potential Romances for Brady Black
So, where does Ava’s exit and Kristen being off the menu leave Brady Black’s love life? Well, it doesn’t look good. Another of his exes, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), is gone for good unless they recast her. And she’s, you know, with his brother now. And I don’t see Arianne Zucker coming back to Days, at least not while she’s suing the soap opera.
Another of Brady’s big loves, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), has also moved away. Nadia Bjorlin exited during the mass firings of females from Days, allegedly at the hands of now-fired in disgrace producer Albert Alarr. There was a whisper that Chloe might return this fall with her sister Joy Wesley‘s (AlexAnn Hopkins) baby in hand, looking for the baby daddy, but that was kind of some speculative chatter. I’m not sure I think that’s going to happen.
Brady’s other ex, Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien), was just back in town, but she didn’t stay long. She left for California pretty quickly because her mom’s cancer has returned. And again, Brady doesn’t want to get back together with Theresa either. She is another woman that he’s toxic with when they’re together. And from what we’ve heard, Theresa is gone for good, at least for now.
Brady’s exes Madison James and Ariana Hernandez are both dead, so they’re out of the running as potential future partners for the Basic Black stud. Emily O’Brien is back in July as Gwen Rizczech, and while she and Brady don’t have a history, I will say she seems like the type of troubled woman that would attract Brady like flies to honey.
Days of Our Lives Casting News: A Blast from Brady’s Past?
But the leak we got hints that a woman from Brady’s romantic past returns to Salem soon. So, our leaker told us that Days has hired an actress from another soap. And that’s enough right there to start speculating who the Peacock soap might have hired.
Off the top of my head, the highest profile soap actress who’s available for hire is Kelly Monaco from General Hospital. If you’ve never watched GH, she played Sam McCall for 20 years before the ABC soap shocked everybody. They fired Kelly Monaco, they killed off her character Sam. And they prompted a firestorm of outrage from soap fans. So, if the hire from another soap is Kelly Monaco, I think that would be a ratings scoop. But there’s other actresses available, obviously, but Kelly would be a score.
DOOL LEAK: Recasting Rumors – Noel, Abby, or Melanie?
So, let’s talk about other details of the leak. My leaker told me that Days cast an actress from another soap and that she would be a recast character. One possibility was that she would be Noel Curtis, who is Sarah Horton‘s (Linsey Godfrey) half-sister and the daughter of Liz Chandler. Now, Noel seems random since she was barely a blip on the Days radar, but the same could be said of Joy Wesley, who was a donor baby. And they brought her back for a hot minute and then kicked her to the curb.
Another possibility for the recast we’re told is Abigail Deveraux (AnnaLynne McCord). There’s lots of people that would like to have Chad DiMera‘s (Billy Flynn) soulmate back to Salem, but this to me feels like a long shot because don’t forget, Billy Flynn has bailed out on Days of Our Lives. He took a new role over at Young and the Restless. He will be on the air for many more months. And he’s going to appear simultaneously on Days and Y&R because of the 8-month tape-to-air delay for the Peacock soap.
However, it’s the third recast option that was mentioned to me that I’m most interested in because of how it ties back to Brady Black and other people on the front burner right now on the soap. The last option my leaker mentioned was Melanie Jonas.
Melanie Jonas’s Potential Return and Rekindled Romance with Brady Black: Days of Our Lives Leaks
Melanie would be my favorite recast option of the three that my leaker shared because she was involved with Chad, and she was married to Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) at one point, and her last Big Love on Days before Molly Burnett exited as Melanie was Brady Black.
They fell in love, and they got engaged, but Theresa interfered and ruined things. She told Melanie that if she didn’t dump him and leave town, Brady would never get to see his son Tate Black (currently Leo Howard), and Theresa’s blackmail worked, and Melanie left Brady, broke his heart, and exited Salem. That was in 2015, so it’s been a decade, and she was seen in 2016 just for a hot minute when Melanie briefly returned for the funeral of her dad, Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian).
And don’t forget the tie that binds Melanie and Brady in a profound way because Melanie’s dad is Daniel Jonas, and his heart beats in Brady’s chest. Plus, Melanie is Holly Jonas‘ (Ashley Puzemis) older half-sister, so that’s another tie to front-runner storylines in Salem. And of course, Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) is Melanie’s grandma.
So, with Theresa out of the picture, it would be a great time for Brady Black to rekindle his romance with Melanie Jonas now that Ava has walked away and he shut down Kristen once and for all. And just as a reminder, this is a leak; it’s not a confirmed spoiler. However, my leaker’s track record is pretty good, so wait to see, and I will update you when I hear more.
