Jennifer Nettles is opening up about her experience attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s highly anticipated wedding, revealing that she never expected to find herself among the thousands of guests celebrating one of the biggest celebrity unions in recent memory.
The Sugarland frontwoman recently reflected on the couple’s star-studded ceremony at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, describing the event as both beautiful and deeply meaningful. For Nettles, who has known Swift for years and previously collaborated with the pop superstar, the opportunity to witness such a milestone firsthand was something she won’t soon forget.

Speaking to PEOPLE at the opening night of her off-Broadway musical “Giulia: The Poison Queen of Palermo” on July 10, Nettles shared how honored she felt to be included in the celebration.
“To be a part of even a small part of their story for me was super special because, obviously, these are two people who are at the absolute top of their industry, the top of their game, the top of their craft, the top of their artistry,” Nettles said. “It’s such an important time in their lives. To be able to witness that very special moment, it’s beautiful.”
Swift and Kelce’s wedding reportedly drew around 1,000 guests to Madison Square Garden, with celebrities, athletes, music industry figures, and longtime friends gathering to celebrate the couple’s relationship. The ceremony included several emotional moments, including Swift and Kelce each reading their vows from gold books while surrounded by family and loved ones.

Despite her long-standing friendship and professional connection with Swift, Nettles admitted she was shocked to receive an invitation. The country music star previously teamed up with Swift on Sugarland’s 2018 song “Babe,” and the pair have publicly supported one another for years. Still, Nettles said she had little idea what was happening behind the scenes leading up to the wedding.
“It all surprised me, because of course, no one knew anything,” she explained. “I guess people had, there were leaks here and there where people were guessing, but no one knew for sure where we were going until much closer to the time.”

Nettles’ comments carry additional significance because she isn’t simply another celebrity attendee. The singer has been publicly supportive of Swift and Kelce’s relationship since its early stages and has long spoken highly of the Grammy winner both personally and professionally.
In February 2024, as Swift and Kelce’s romance continued dominating headlines, Nettles told PEOPLE that she wanted nothing but happiness for the singer. “Taylor is such a lovely human being, and I want her to find love just like everybody else,” Nettles said at the time. “I am invested in that for her.”
More than a year later, Nettles found herself witnessing Swift’s love story firsthand.

While reflecting on the wedding, Nettles also offered high praise for Swift’s accomplishments, calling her one of the defining artists of the modern era.
“I’m so proud to have been even a little part of her story,” Nettles said. “Obviously, throughout her history, she and I have worked together before, and I have such an admiration for her and what she has done.”
The praise didn’t stop there. “As a songwriter, you can’t touch her,” Nettles added. “She’s the biggest artist of all time, really of our generation.”

While Nettles was one of roughly 1,000 guests in attendance, Swift and Kelce made sure their wedding remained deeply personal despite its massive scale.
The couple wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture looks designed by Jonathan Anderson, who worked closely with both Swift and Kelce on their wedding-day attire. According to a statement from Swift’s representative, the bride’s gown marked Anderson’s first couture wedding dress created for a world-renowned celebrity. The newlyweds completed their looks with custom Christian Louboutin shoes, while Swift accessorized with Cartier jewelry.
Rather than following tradition with a large wedding party, the couple opted to keep things focused on family. Swift’s younger brother, Austin Swift, served as her Man of Honor, while Kelce’s brother, retired NFL star Jason Kelce, stood beside him as Best Man.
After the couple exchanged vows and were officially pronounced husband and wife, fans gathered outside Madison Square Garden were greeted with a celebratory message displayed across the venue’s iconic jumbotrons: “JUST&T MARRIED!”
Country singer Jelly Roll is getting candid about his recent struggles with eating amid his massive 275-pound weight-loss journey. During a vulnerable conversation with influencer Salvatore Reedus, Jelly Roll, born Jason DeFord, admitted he could go on a five-day food bender if he had even a single cheat meal.
Jelly Roll laid it all out there during his conversation with Reedus on his YouTube page, admitting he’d been “overeating” for the last several days. The country singer called it “stress-eating” before saying that his actions caused him to revert to old habits.
According to the 41-year-old, his recent bender followed his consumption of a dairy-free skillet cookie at a concert. He noted that he usually avoids unhealthy foods at this point in his journey because he’s unable to control himself afterward.
“I don’t eat nothing like that. I’m like a drug addict. You can’t eat that ‘cause if I ate one, I’ll eat two. I’ll eat four. So later that night, I’m at the taco truck getting a peanut butter fluff. Next thing I know, we’re at the rest stop, I’m looking for a chocolate bar,” he said.

Jelly Roll said that when he does find himself eating unhealthy foods, he can’t stop himself, likening it to “the taste of blood.” He added, “Now it’s going to take me a whole another week to get that [taste] completely out of my mouth.”
Later, Jelly Roll told Reedus that he’s unable to have a single cheat meal like some other people he knows. “I can’t have anything,” he said, adding that he’s the same with alcohol and hard drugs.
“I’ve never had a shot. I’ve never done a line of cocaine. I’ve never smoked a joint. You know what I mean? Either we’re smoking all day, we’re drinking all night, we’re doing coke. That’s how it’s working for me,” he admitted.
Despite his recent challenges, Jelly Roll said he’s learning to give himself grace on days he falls off the wagon, noting that he’ll likely still eat sweets or other unhealthy foods at some point in the future.
“… those are the days you got to give yourself grace. The problem is it starts compounding in the days,” he said. “It’s okay to have a bad meal. It’s okay to have a bad day. Don’t beat yourself up about it … don’t punish yourself for it.”
Jelly Roll has been open about his struggles with consistency in the past. In a previous YouTube video, the “Save Me” singer said he “lost his way” after indulging in “big” holiday meals in 2025.
To make matters worse, Jelly Roll broke his collarbone just before Christmas, forcing him to put exercise on the back burner while he recovered.
“I said all that to say that I have to some degree lost my way,” he confessed before revealing he still had more weight he hoped to lose in the future.
“I want to get these last 40 or 50 pounds off, and then I eventually want to cut my skin and I eventually want to be on the cover of something crazy like GQ or Rolling Stone or Vanity Fair or Forbes or Time with my shirt off. I know this is getting real silly now, but I don’t know. I just believe there’s this story that a guy can go from 560 pounds to a shirt off picture. It’s absurd,” he shared.
During a previous interview with PEOPLE, Jelly Roll, who recently filed for divorce from his wife Bunnie Xo, said working to overcome his battle with “food addiction” was the driving force behind his new look.
“I’ve never had a healthy relationship with food, so that was the hard part. But once you get into that discipline and commitment, it’s like an avalanche. Once that little snowball started rolling, it was on its way,” he said.

What makes sunscreen enjoyable to wear every day? It all comes down to the formula. If something is easy to apply and feels good, you’ll always remember to smooth it on. At least, that’s Naomi Watts’ philosophy, and she found a drugstore SPF that does it all.
In a recent interview with CNN, the actress said the La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVAir Serum Sunscreen SPF 50 is one of her favorite menopausal skincare products. “This goes on smoothly, doesn’t leave that chalky cast and works well under makeup, which makes it easy to wear every day,” she raved.

Finding a mineral sunscreen that layers well under makeup is no easy feat, no matter your age. However, La Roche-Posay pioneered a new form of serum-like sunscreen that is a far cry from the thick, goopy formulas of the early 2000s. This SPF is akin to a milky skin serum with its liquid texture and hydrating list of ingredients, including hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and antioxidants.
The light-as-air texture melts into skin on contact — no white cast to be seen — and leaves your complexion feeling comfortable throughout the day. Those with normal skin might even find it so hydrating that they ditch their summer moisturizer in favor of this multitasking pick.
Beyond how it makes skin feel, shoppers have been thrilled with how travel-friendly the sunscreen is. (It can literally fit in your purse!) “[This is a] great sunscreen that is clean and mineral based,” one Amazon reviewer wrote. “Love that I can travel with it on a plane. It goes on easily, dries fast and works great with makeup. I ordered another bottle today for travel. Doesn’t burn my eyes like many sunscreens. No whitecast at all. Great find, and I love it!”
There’s no excuse to not wear sunscreen when formulas like the La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVAir Serum Sunscreen SPF 50 exist. Enjoy protecting your skin every day this summer and beyond with this in your skincare regimen.

Late Lilo & Stitch star Daveigh Chase left behind an estate worth $400,000 despite reportedly living on the streets in Los Angeles prior to her death at age 35.
Probate documents obtained by Us Weekly show that Daveigh’s mother, Cathy Chase, asked a Los Angeles Superior Court to appoint her administrator of her late daughter’s estate on Wednesday, July 8. Cathy specified that Daveigh left behind $400,000 in personal property but “no real property.” (TMZ was the first to report the news.)
Cathy asked to become the administrator of her daughter’s estate because Daveigh was never married and had no children. The legal motion listed Daveigh’s father, John Schwallier, as a potential “estate descendant.” (Cathy clarified that John “keeps properties in Las Vegas” but she thought he currently resided at an unknown address in the Philippines.)
Us obtained a second motion filed before the court that put restrictions on how money from Daveigh’s estate can be spent. (This document was signed by Cathy on Tuesday, July 7.)
‘There are many other restrictions on your authority to deal with estate property. You should not spend any of the estate’s money unless you have received permission from the court or have been advised to do so by an attorney,” the instructions read. “You may reimburse yourself for official court costs paid by you to the county clerk and for the premium on your bond.”
The instructions went on, “Without prior order of the court, you may not pay fees to yourself or to your attorney, if you have one. If you do not obtain the court’s permission when it is required, you may be removed as personal representative or you may be required to reimburse the estate from your own personal funds, or both. You should consult with an attorney concerning the legal requirements affecting sales, leases, mortgages, and investments of estate property.”
A probate hearing has been set for August 12 at a Los Angeles County Superior Court. Ahead of the upcoming hearing, Cathy asked the court to approve a $400,000 bond.
Daveigh’s boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, confirmed her death to TMZ on June 17, saying at the time that the Big Love alum was battling meningitis and an infection in her blood that led to sepsis before her death.
However, a Los Angeles medical examiner’s report obtained by Us on June 29 listed acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) as Daveigh’s primary cause of death. The medical examiner determined it was a natural death while noting that chronic polysubstance use was a contributing factor. (The Cleveland Clinic defines polysubstance use as using more than one drug or substance at the same time or in close proximity.)

Once an in-demand actress, Daveigh virtually disappeared from the spotlight in the mid-2010s, with worried fans occasionally sharing footage of her on Skid Row in Los Angeles in recent years.
A source who was once close to Daveigh exclusively revealed to Us that mutual friends reached out to the actress to offer help over the years but she was not receptive.
“People really loved her and cared about her and offered her help,” the source says. “If you talked to anyone, everyone asked about her and worried about her and cared about her.”
The insider added, “If I ever met anyone on the street, I would ask about her and if they knew her and no one ever did.”
Daveigh’s childhood friend Amy Castle expressed her belief that “things absolutely could have been different” if the star was willing to confide in others.
“Whenever I speak to people about it, they go, ‘It’s so sad, it’s so tragic,’ and I say it is sad, and it is tragic, but also it didn’t have to be this way,” Castle told Us on Wednesday, July 8 “I knew her from [age] 9 to 16, and I can tell you with certainty the friend that I knew would never have wanted her life to go the way it went. No way. I don’t have a shadow of a doubt in my life.”
Castle suggested that Daveigh simply “did not have the support” she needed in the final years of her life.
“I believe that a lot of the time if a person does not have the support needed to process … that a very understandable coping mechanism can be to compartmentalize or to self-soothe, a lot of times with drugs, [it] can be with food, with sex, with anything that’s going to give your brain dopamine and take you out of what you don’t understand,” she noted.
Daveigh first found fame as a child star with live-action roles in Donnie Darko and The Ring, before landing lead voice roles in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch and the Studio Ghibli film Spirited Away. Her final film roles came in 2016 with the horror movie Jack Goes Home and thriller American Romance.

Once declared unprofitable and dead, the romantic comedy genre has made a remarkable comeback. When cinematic universe and superhero movies thrived in late 2000s and early 2010s, romantic comedy became a niche offering. The genre used to rule the box office charts with movies like Pretty Woman, The Proposal and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. However, they have recently found new life as streaming platforms rise and they embrace fresh storytelling and perspectives.
This list takes a look at some of the best romantic comedies released in the past decades. Most of them may still lean to the proven and tested formula, but these movies add more spice that make it more appealing to modern audiences. The movies on this list range from bestselling book adaptations to original stories, proving that the genre still has a lot to give. One thing for sure, we will be seeing more and more romantic comedies in the years to come.
Upgraded follows Ana Santos (Camilla Mendes), an ambitious art gallery intern who is accompanying her demanding boss on a business trip to London. While she is initially set up to fly coach on a different flight by her sly colleagues, she is unexpectedly upgraded to business class and meets the charming William (Archie Renaux). However, Ana claims that she’s the CEO of the company and has to keep up appearances with William’s family, while also doing her actual job.
In this modern take on Cinderella, the film’s romance surprisingly takes a backseat and focuses on Ana’s character. It refreshingly puts her ambitions and career intuitions at the forefront, showing that she actually has what it takes to earn the position (unlike, say, Emily in Paris). The romance itself is quite charming. Camilla Mendes leads the film with confidence and ease, making it enjoyable throughout. It might follow a familiar formula, but it understands what the movie needs, which are likable characters, plenty of romantic tension, and believable stakes. It’s one of many solid romantic picks on Prime Video.
Anyone But You centers on Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell), whose perfect meet cute and first date ends in disaster, leaving them convinced they can barely tolerate each other. Months later, they are both invited to a destination wedding in Australia, where they have to play nice with one another and even pretend they’re a happy couple for the benefit of friends and family.
Drawing from Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, the film works because it fully embraces the timeless appeal of the enemies-to-lovers formula while giving it a modern energy. Its biggest strength lies in the electric chemistry between Sweeney and Powell. Right from the opening scene, they are simply irresistible to watch together. Their insane on-screen connection even sparked real-life romance rumors. The film marked the return of rom-coms in theaters when it became a sleeper hit when it was released in the usually crowded Christmas release date.
Based on the bestselling novel by Emily Henry, People We Meet on Vacation centers on longtime best friends Poppy (Emily Bader) and Alex (Tom Blyth), who have spent a decade taking annual summer trips together despite having completely opposite personalities. Their trips eventually come to a stop after a falling out. When Alex’s brother is getting married, they have to face their storied past and open up a new chapter for them.
The friends-to-lovers trope has been the backbone of so many romance movies, and in this film it is once again put to work effectively. Anchored by exciting and unforgettable performances by Emily Bader as the free-spirited Poppy and the more restrained Tom Blyth, it is easy for audiences to also fall in love with them and their adventures. While the title is slightly misleading (they did not meet on a vacation!), the emotion and chemistry of the two characters are palpable. Despite resorting to the usual rom-com formula, the final act resolution is somehow more modern and refreshing. Thanks to this success, there will definitely be more Emily Henry adaptations.
Always Be My Maybe is about childhood best friends Sasha Tran (Ali Wong) and Marcus Kim (Randall Park). Their friendship came to an end after awkward sex during their late teens. Sixteen years later, Sasha has become a world-famous celebrity chef while Marcus remains in San Francisco, living a quieter life. When Sasha returns home to open a new restaurant, the two reconnect.
As one of Netflix’s best rom-coms, Always Be My Maybe is such a standout because of its ability to make familiar material feel deeply personal. The film is a more mature rom-com so it has a deeper emotional maturity as well as a distinct cultural identity courtesy of its two leads. Ali Wong and Randall Park are incredible comedic actors and both of them collaborate so well, and, as the kids say today, maximize their joint slay. Everything just felt natural between them, from the awkward moments to the romantic gestures. To add the cherry on top, the film also has a killer cameo from Keanu Reeves that should not be missed.
Set It Up follows two overworked assistants, Harper (Zoey Deutch) and Charlie (Glen Powell), who try to set up their extremely demanding bosses, Kirsten (Lucy Liu) and Rick (Taye Diggs), so that they can find some time off. As they execute their matchmaking scheme, Harper and Charlie develop a close friendship that soon blossoms into romance.
Set It Up was one of the strongest romantic comedies to come out after the genre fizzled out. With the strong main cast, the film boasts not one but two entertaining love stories. Deutch and Powell are simply very lovable presences on screen, and their relationship’s progression is very natural and believable. This results in seemingly simple scenes turning out to be very moving and memorable, such as the now famous pizza scene. With sharp dialogue and energetic pace, the film revives the genre for streaming glory. It is one of the best rom-coms to come out in the 2010s.
Long Shot sees the unlikely pairing of Charlotte Field (Charlize Theron), the U.S. Secretary of State, and journalist Fred Flarsky (Seth Rogen). They reunite after so many years when Charlotte used to babysit Fred. Now, the outspoken Fred is recruited to be her speechwriter as she gears up for a presidential campaign.
Long Shot is one of the most unique rom-coms to ever be released. It combines romance, raunchy comedy and even political satire into one film. The central relationship between Charlotte and Fred is very well-balanced and doesn’t feel like a total romantic wish fulfillment. Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen are incredibly hilarious in this film but also can be vulnerable when the story calls for it. The film also has a fun supporting cast and cameos which includes Alexander Skarsgård and Andy Serkis. It’s a refreshing and very welcome twist on the romantic comedy formula.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before follows Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor), a shy high school student whose private love letters are accidentally mailed to every boy she has ever had feelings for. As all the boys question her letters, she gets into a fake relationship with one of the recipients, Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), to convince another crush that she no longer has feelings for him while Peter agrees to this to make her ex jealous.
Based on a bestselling book by Jenny Han, the film was a phenomenon when it was released on Netflix. It uses the tried-and-true fake relationship trope while also being sincere and heartfelt to teenage emotions and drama. Lara Jean is a well-rounded and relatable protagonist whose insecurities make her easy to root for, while Peter, initially cold, evolves into a thoughtful person as their relationship progresses. Lana Condor and Noah Centineo are simply lovable as their characters. The movie also has warm family dynamics and comforting atmosphere that add to its qualities. The film is followed by two sequels and a spin-off series, but this first film is a lightning in a bottle.
Palm Springs follows wedding guests Nyles (Andy Samberg) and Sarah (Cristin Milioti) as they are trapped in a mysterious time loop where they endlessly relive the same day. Embracing the freedom, the pair indulge in reckless adventures before confronting the emptiness that accompanies endless repetition. They begin questioning not just how to escape the loop, but also wonder if they could have a proper relationship in the future.
The time loop is a premise that has been used in virtually every genre ever since Groundhog Day popularized it. However, Palm Springs utilizes it to explore its emotional themes instead of using it as a cheap gimmick. The themes of loneliness and personal growth resonate strongly as the film hits the comedic beats. The chemistry between Samberg and Milioti feels so effortless that the high-concept premise flows without any obstacle. The film is also supported by a strong ensemble that includes J.K. Simmons, Camila Mendes and June Squibb. Released during the pandemic, it is one of the best films of 2020.
Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) travels to Singapore with her boyfriend, Nick Young (Henry Golding), expecting a simple trip to meet his family in Crazy Rich Asians. Instead, she discovers that Nick is part of the wealthiest and most influential families in Asia. Rachel is scrutinized by Nick’s family and friends who question whether their world is the right place for her.
Beyond its glamorous world and cultural specificity, the film succeeds in resonating with a global audience. The core story about Rachel’s journey to prove herself to Nick’s family is very compelling and relatable. Director Jon M. Chu is able to translate the cultural customs and traditions for a broad audience, which contributed to the film’s box office success. The movie also marked a significant cultural milestone by featuring a predominantly Asian cast in a major Hollywood romantic comedy. With strong performances from Constance Wu, Michelle Yeoh and Gemma Chan, the film proved that classic romantic comedies can still thrive when paired with fresh perspectives like this.
Cha Cha Real Smooth follows Andrew (Cooper Raiff), a recent college graduate who finds himself uncertain about his future while working as a party host for bar and bat mitzvahs. During one of these parties, he meets Domino (Dakota Johnson), a young mother navigating her own complicated life while raising her autistic daughter. They form a friendship at first but then their relationship becomes deeper.
Combining coming-of-age and romance themes, Cha Cha Real Smooth breaks away from the traditional structure of a rom-com. Instead, it focuses on the messy realities of growing up as well as being an adult with responsibilities. The dialogue is very intimate, which adds to the authenticity of it all. The performances by writer-director Raiff and Johnson further strengthen the film. This film features arguably the best Dakota Johnson performance so far. Its romance feels bittersweet because it recognizes that genuine connections do not always lead to conventional happy endings. The film was a Sundance darling when it premiered, earning the festival’s Audience Award in 2022.

Ariana Grande continued to tease fans about her relationship status with ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez during her Eternal Sunshine Tour.
Viral video footage shot during opening night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Monday, July 13, once again showed Grande, 33, make an intriguing lyrical change to her 2018 single “Thank U, Next.”
On the original track, Grande referenced her year-long romance with Alvarez, 34, while name-checking numerous exes, reminiscing, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh.”
However, Grande changed the lyrics live on stage on Monday, with the live crowd erupting with cheers as she sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back.”
The Wicked star initially surprised fans with a “Thank U, Next” lyrical change during her show in Austin, Texas, on June 26, when she belted out the revised line, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Know he still got my back.”
Alvarez was reportedly on hand to witness the June 26 shoutout, with fans sharing viral footage of him smiling directly after Ariana altered the lyric.
A source exclusively revealed to Us Weekly on July 7 that Grande and Alvarez “always shared a close bond” after they were spotted at a Whole Foods in Boca Raton, Florida, over the July 4 holiday weekend.
“There was a period in time where they weren’t close — while she was with Ethan [Slater] — so she is happy to reconnect with him again,” the insider said.
The source added, “Ariana is grateful to have him in her life right now, and he’s been a huge source of support.”

Us reached out to reps for Grande and Alvarez for comment at the time.
The pair originally dated between 2015 and 2016.
In a 2019 interview, Grande told the Zach Sang Show that Alvarez frequently kidded her about the lyrical name-drop in “Thank U, Next.”
“Ricky loved it. He was proud. But Ricky was like, ‘Why did I get the worst line?’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Everyone else’s line is so nice, and mine is like, ‘Man, f*** him, he’s trash.’ I was like I could have said that,” Grande quipped. “I could’ve said, ‘Wrote some songs about Ricky, never mind he’s trash.’ … But I didn’t. I said, ‘Now I listen and laugh.’”
Grande reconnected with Alvarez on the heels of her split from Wicked costar Slater, 34, in June after two years of dating.
“It’s amicable. They gave lots of time and careful consideration and decided to go their separate ways,” an insider told Us about Grande and Slater’s split at the time. “They are still friends and very supportive of one another. They have been quietly broken up for several months.”
Grande is in the middle of a five-night Eternal Sunshine concert residency at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn before moving on to Boston’s TD Garden on July 23.

Typically, this particular style of bag is saved for evening occasions, but Mindy Kaling has convinced us to break out the look for daytime. Her small top-handle bag makes a serious statement even against the actress and producer’s bright yellow outfit. And we’re ready to bring the metallic piece to our own closets for the different seasons ahead.
Kaling appeared on Good Morning America in a sunshine-colored suit, but still, our eyes went to her bag. The Chanel top-handle purse is gold and textured, which instantly makes us think it would look beautiful for a wedding or nighttime party. However, she proved metallics have a place in the early hours, so we’re copying Kaling’s style with the JHVYF Small Top-Handle Bag from Amazon.
Get the JHVYF Small Top-Handle Bag for $20 (originally $25) at Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.
As opposed to the thousands of dollars that Kaling’s version costs, the JHVYF bag is currently on sale for $20. It has a similar look, though, with the gold hue and even the textured material. It has a top-handle bag for a pick-up-and-go design, but it comes with a removable crossbody strap, too, for versatile wear.
The golden look has a way of dressing up an outfit, so even your tee and leggings for running errands can look elevated. This Amazon find also comes in red, orange, green and purple options, so it forces you to step outside your neutral comfort zone. Consider this your excuse to give your ensembles a much-needed pop while housing your essentials.
This top-handle bag is a newer offering on Amazon, but early reviews are saying it holds the essentials and gives any outfit a polished look.
“I love this bag! It’s the perfect size for everyday use without feeling bulky. It fits all the essentials and still looks super stylish,” a five-star reviewer said.
“I’ve been using this little satchel for quick trips to the coffee shop when I don’t want to lug around my giant work tote. The stitching feels tight, and the material has a nice, sturdy weight that doesn’t feel like it’ll scuff if I set it down on a sidewalk table,” one happy reviewer noted.
Smaller bags are typically used for evening occasions, but Kaling reminded us how classy the style looks in the daytime, too. And in a metallic? It doesn’t get cooler than that.

After weeks of fan theories, blurry screenshots, and online detective work, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s mysterious new dog has finally been spotted in public. The fluffy white pup was photographed Sunday after disembarking from Swift’s private jet in Palm Beach, Florida, giving fans their clearest look yet at what appears to be the newest addition to the couple’s growing household.
While the sighting may seem like a simple celebrity pet story, it has also reignited interest in a bigger question that has followed the pair throughout their relationship: what does the future look like for one of pop culture’s most closely watched couples?

The appearance of the dog effectively confirms weeks of speculation among fans. Online sleuths first began theorizing that Swift and Kelce had quietly adopted a pet after eagle-eyed followers noticed what appeared to be a fluffy white dog in the background of photos connected to the couple’s recent wedding celebrations.
Additional attention followed when fans resurfaced footage from earlier this year that appeared to show a similar dog jumping out of Swift’s vehicle.
See the new photos of Swift and Kelce’s fur baby obtained by TMZ here.

Celebrity pets often generate headlines, but Swift and Kelce’s newest companion arrives at a particularly interesting moment in their relationship. Over the past year, public interest has shifted from dating rumors to questions surrounding whether the couple plans to start a family.
Recent reports have suggested that Swift and Kelce remain undecided about having children. According to The Daily Mail, sources close to the couple claim they have discussed the topic but have not reached a definitive decision about what their future family might look like.
The reported hesitation is said to stem largely from security concerns surrounding Swift’s unprecedented level of fame.

Long before her relationship with Kelce began, Swift publicly discussed the unique challenges that would come with raising children while living under constant public scrutiny.
In a past interview, the singer acknowledged that she had concerns about whether children could experience anything resembling a normal upbringing while being connected to one of the world’s most recognizable celebrities.
“It’s impossible not to picture certain scenarios and how you would try to convince them that they have a normal life when, inevitably, there will be strange men pointing giant cameras at them from the time they are babies,” she said at the time, per Billboard.
She specifically referenced the reality of photographers following celebrity families and the difficulty of shielding children from intense public attention. Those concerns have only become more relevant in recent years as Swift’s profile has continued to grow globally.
Reports have noted that the singer has faced multiple security threats throughout her career, including the widely publicized terror plot that led to the cancellation of her Vienna “Eras Tour” performances in 2024.

The dog sighting also comes amid growing signs that Swift and Kelce are settling into a more established phase of their relationship. The pair recently attracted attention after appearing together at the wedding of NFL star JuJu Smith-Schuster and Laura Kruk, where fans quickly focused on another detail: the couple’s wedding bands.
Photos from the celebration showed Swift wearing her custom engagement ring alongside a matching band, seemingly her new wedding ring.
According to jewelry experts, Swift’s engagement ring features a rectangular-cut diamond with vintage-inspired design elements and could be worth anywhere from $1.3 million to $5 million. The custom piece was reportedly designed with significant input from Kelce, a detail that Swift has previously said made the ring even more meaningful.

During an appearance on “Heart Breakfast” while promoting her album “The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift revealed that Kelce had surprised her by remembering a jewelry designer she had casually mentioned long before the proposal.
“I had shown him a video, I just thought her stuff was so cool, I had shown him a video like a year and a half ago and he was just paying attention to everything it turns out because when I saw the ring I [gasped] … I was like, ‘I know who made this, I know who made this,’ and also, you listen to me!’”
The singer went on to praise Kelce for creating something that felt uniquely tailored to her tastes. “It was like, you really know me. I didn’t know what I would want, but he did somehow, and that’s kind of a flex,” Swift added.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were married on July 3, 2026, and are now looking to begin their next chapter of life together.
Quentin Tarantino is more than just one of the most acclaimed directors of his generation; he’s also a passionate and often vocal student of cinema. His work often proudly bears the fingerprints of the films he admired growing up, speaking the language of filmmaking rather than mere mimicry. But his passion often goes beyond his own work; he frequently shares his opinions on the films he loves in interviews, and continually singles out one group of movies — which have just arrived on Prime Video.
1964’s A Fistful of Dollars was the first in Sergio Leone’s Dollars Trilogy, followed by For a Few Dollars More, and The Good the Bad and the Ugly. In addition to popularizing the idea of the spaghetti Western (distinctly American films being made by Italian filmmakers and cast), the trilogy shifted the whole notion of what a Western could be. The trio of Leone, composer Ennio Morricone, and star Clint Eastwood came together to take one of cinema’s most storied genres and shake up every element, giving it style and swagger that established a new standard.
Based on the Akira Kurosawa film Yojimbo (1961), A Fistful of Dollars stars Eastwood as a mysterious, unnamed stranger who rides into the border town of San Miguel. The place is ravaged by violence and corruption, as two warring families fight for control. Seeing an opportunity for profit, the Man with No Name plays one side against the other, in a plan that will leave him either dead or rich.
Speaking on the 50th anniversary of the movie at Cannes, Tarantino described the film as “the birth of what we now call modern filmmaking.” He enthused, “Every director who ever took genre pieces actually had the grandiose idea to present them larger than life. That started 50 years ago.” Such a grand statement has merit, as the Italian maestro took visual storytelling and moral dynamics in a whole new direction, making movie magic.
On the screen, close-ups and slow, tense showdowns gave every moment an operatic feel that would become the vocabulary of the genre — and genre cinema itself — for years after. It also brought a new code to the West. Previously, the heroes and villains were neatly categorized in movies that mythologized the frontier, but Leone’s film found something more interesting in the shadows.
Historically, the leads of Western movies were just as grand and praise-worthy as the landscapes they explored. John Wayne became the archetype — strong, principled, forthright, willing to go the extra mile to do what’s right. After six decades of these rigid standards, however, Eastwood’s Man with No Name offered something different. He’s a survivor, and one of the ways he manages that is through being as unreadable as possible. Rather than stating his intentions or signaling his beliefs, the character very seldom talks, shows little-to-no emotion, and becomes a foreboding presence on-screen.
He’s not as villainous as the people he is manipulating, but neither is he a hero of the frontier. His good deeds are incidental, and only occur if they also happen to align with his plans. The ambiguity is endlessly fascinating, carving a template for heroes of many genres in the future. Escape From New York’s Snake Plissken, Mad Max, John Wick, The Mandalorian and more could be said to contain the DNA of that performance. A hero who isn’t heroic, just utterly compelling, knowing that the less he says, the more you lean forward in your seat.
While Leone set the visual language, composer Ennio Morricone changed the way music was used in movies. The score was not simply incidental — it followed, or even led, the action unfolding on the big screen. The haunting sounds of rhythmic whistles, cracking whips, and faceless cries turned San Miguel into someplace mythological, adding drama at every turn and mirroring exactly how the viewer was feeling in that moment. Gunfights choreographed themselves to the soundtrack, and emotional beats were heralded audibly rather than through dialogue. There were no gimmicks, nothing frivolous, just the knowledge that the score, performance, and direction must be equal to make a low-budget Western feel like the center of the world.
Prior to the Cannes anniversary appearance, Tarantino heralded the Dollars trilogy as “the greatest achievement in the history of cinema.” For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly would continue the legacy that A Fistful of Dollars began, but there’s nothing like experiencing the origin of Leone’s masterwork, seeing cues that are now part of cinematic history play out for the first time. 62 years on from its release, the movie feels revolutionary even in the face of all its imitators. It’s no wonder Tarantino, and so many film fans like him, hold it in such high regard.

Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively have resolved part of their legal dispute with a settlement, but their courtroom battle is far from over. The latter is seeking $8 million to cover her legal fees, and Baldoni has responded with his own filing, requesting the judge to deny, or at least reduce, the amount. The latest filing follows Baldoni breaking his silence on the “It Ends With Us” legal dispute that began in 2024.

Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively settled their legal dispute in early May, just a couple of weeks before the trial was set to begin. The settlement had no monetary exchange from either side, and a confidentiality clause was also absent, which was unusual for such a high-profile case.
A federal judge ruled that the “Gossip Girl” actress was entitled to recover legal costs in connection with Baldoni’s defamation countersuit, which was dismissed. On June 30, her legal team submitted the details of her request amounting to roughly $8 million, as previously reported by The Blast.
Two weeks later, Baldoni’s team has responded. In a filing submitted to the courts on July 13 by attorney Bryan Freedman, Baldoni and Wayferer Studios have requested that the judge deny Lively’s bid completely, or at least “substantially reduce” the amount, which they deemed “excessive,” as noted in the documents.

Lively’s legal fee request was detailed in her filing, with attorney’s fees amounting to $7,495,526.87 and additional costs at $539,514.01, totalling $8,035,040.85. The document also noted that Lively had been given discounts by her legal team.
The actress had two primary lawyers from top-tier law firms leading her case, Michael Gottlieb (Willkie Farr & Gallagher) and Esra Hudson (Manatt, Phelps & Phillips), who have their own litigation teams under them. Per the filing, Gottlieb’s hourly discounted rate for Lively was $2,187. He has been on Lively’s team since the legal battle began in December 2024, and he billed 224 hours.
Freedman argues that Lively’s team had more staff than needed and had too many billable hours. “The most cursory review of Lively’s submission shows multiple lawyers at the same hearings, numerous charges for lawyers conferencing, conferring, or strategizing with one another, and to put it mildly, extremely excessive research and online investigation,” Freedman’s filing noted.

Per Lively’s filing, her entire team accumulated 7,070.20 hours of billable work throughout her battle with Baldoni and the Wayferer parties. Freedman argues that is “20 times the number of hours courts have found reasonable in defending similar high-profile defamation actions, even those with ‘complicated and underdeveloped’ legal questions.”
Moreover, Baldoni’s lawyer argued that the law firms of Lively’s attorneys charge excessive rates, and in her filing she failed to include credentials to justify the rates recorded. “Lively recognizes that reasonableness requires an assessment of each lawyer’s expertise and experience yet fails to provide biographical information for 71 of the 82 timekeepers,” Freedman noted.

At the beginning of the “It Ends With Us” legal battle, Baldoni and Wayferer Studios sued The New York Times for libel and defamation over its publication of an exposé. Baldoni’s lawsuit was dismissed, and he was later asked to pay legal costs amounting to $181,000, as requested by the publication.
Freedman is comparing that amount to Lively’s request for legal fees, noting that the actress’ filing is overreaching. “Lively’s fee request is so over-inclusive that it sweeps in fees for researching her own liability for perjury arising from her California CRD claim and her Rule 11 motion for which the Court has already denied fees!” the document reads.
Overall, Baldoni’s team claims Lively failed to provide credible evidence supporting her recoverable fees and is asking the court to deny or reduce the amount considerably.
Baldoni has remained silent throughout his legal battle with his “It Ends With Us” co-star. On July 8, however, he and his wife, Emily, posted an Instagram video to update their followers, as reported by The Blast.
The couple shared their love and appreciation for the people who have stood by them, telling their followers that they are still in the process of healing. While they remained tight-lipped about case details, Emily said they plan to share their side of the story when the time is right.

While the quality of the Nightmare on Elm Street films could be very hit or miss, nobody can deny that Freddy Krueger was the greatest horror villain of the ‘80s. That’s because he was played by the one and only Robert Englund, who transformed this villain into a monster of many faces. At first, Freddy was a very serious villain, one who intimidated victims primarily through his horrific appearance. As time went on, though, the films made Freddy a darkly comic figure, one prone to shouting out vulgar jokes while slashing terrified teens to pieces.
Of course, nobody can play the same role forever, so A Nightmare on Elm Street got an inevitable reboot in 2010. However, nobody really liked this film, and they especially hated Jackie Earle Haley as the iconic villain. The franchise has been dormant for the better part of two decades, but that’s about to change. Now, the original dream demon is coming back for yet another reboot. Paramount is working on a new Nightmare on Elm Street movie in the hopes of reviving the scariest slasher villain of the ‘80s to frighten an entirely new generation of moviegoers.

This morning, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Paramount had reached a deal with the estate of Wes Craven, the man who brought us the original Nightmare on Elm Street. The deal allows them to reboot the franchise with a new film from Paramount Prime. This genre label is spearheaded by J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules, the producers behind modern horror hits such as Barbarian and black comedies like Friendship. Those producers are hyped “to help usher a new story into this world” and are excited “to bring a terrifying new nightmare to audiences everywhere, and to welcome Freddy home.”
They have the blessing of Wes Craven’s widow, Iya Labunka. “We look forward to bringing the world of Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elm Street to a new and completely engaged generation of fans,” she said. “We know that Wes would have been thrilled to see how horror is taking its long overdue place in the cultural canon. We can’t wait for all of us to sit together in a dark theatre–around the campfire of today–as the next chapter of the Nightmare story unfolds.”

The bit about horror taking its place is likely a reference to the runaway success of Obsession and Backrooms, two horror films with small budgets that went on to outperform major blockbusters like The Mandalorian and Grogu and Supergirl. However, one of the reasons those scary movies did so well is that they catered to a young audience hungry for fresh ideas. Only time will tell if those young audiences are likely to show up for a reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street, a film that scared their grandparents nearly half a century ago.
On paper, a reboot might please the original fans of the franchise, especially since the new Nightmare on Elm Street is based on the screenplay of the first film and not its inferior sequels. However, that first movie, its seven sequels, and even its spinoff TV show were all powered by Robert Englund, the man who brought Freddy Krueger to such brilliant, bloody life. The 2010 reboot floundered when Jackie Earle Haley stepped into the role, and the new movie will similarly flop if audiences don’t accept the new man behind the claw.

Of course, we won’t know whether the reboot will succeed or fail until it comes out. So far, there’s no release date set, and no official casting announcements have been made. With its pending purchase of Warner Bros., it’s clear that Paramount wants another major franchise that (like Star Trek, which is getting its own cinematic reboot) can drive fans to theaters. But Nightmare on Elm Street hasn’t been relevant in decades, and the fans the studio is aiming for aren’t exactly clamoring for recycled IPs. In point of fact, they are more excited about Hollywood transforming creepypastas to the big screen.
Maybe a generational compromise is in order. Freddy Krueger vs. Jeff the Killer? Now, that’s one fight we’d all pay to see!
