Police Shoot Washington Man to Stop Stabbing Spree That Left Mother, 3 Other Women Dead

A man killed his girlfriend, her two family members and two friends on a rural property in Oregon before he died by suicide, according to authorities.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Benjamin Charles Parker died of an apparent suicide inside of a car after he murdered his girlfriend, Stella Jade Kimsey, her mother, Rowan Karla Kimsey, and her grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Kimsey, on Saturday, August 22. In addition to Stella, 26, and her family members, police said Parker, 36, killed Stella’s best friend, Linsey Mae Haraldsen, and Haraldsen’s boyfriend, Alvin Raymond Chu.

The killings took place on a farm, which was owned by Rowan, 60. Rowan also lived at the property with Stella and Parker.

Several animals also lived on the property, and authorities said that two cats and dogs were found dead at the crime scene. Another cat was taken to a veterinarian for treatment, but was ultimately euthanized “due to the extent of its injuries.”

Police fatally shot a Washington man in order to stop him from a stabbing spree that left his mother and three other women dead. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office announced that Aleksandr Aleksandro Shablykin was shot dead by a responding deputy. The victims have been identified as the suspect’s mother, 52-year-old Zoya Anatolyevna Shabliykina, and […]

Authorities have not yet announced how the five people or animals were killed, and a motive for the killings is not currently known.

Authorities learned of the murders when firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle fire at the property, according to KGW8.

“We do have a deceased victim up here. We’re gonna need law enforcement,” a firefighter said in dispatch audio, which was obtained by KGW8. “I need a police unit or a sheriff’s office unit code for you to see just in case we have two victims here.”

The firefighter added, “This is some suspicious circumstances certainly so we’re gonna … just take our hoses and get out of here and let the sheriff’s office clear this. Then we’ll return.”

After detectives found the five victims at the property, they tracked Parker’s vehicle about 180 miles away behind a Safeway in Enumclaw. He was already dead by the time police found him.

Enumclaw Police Chief Tim Floyd said that detectives found Parker by tracking his cell phone, per the outlet.

“They called us and said, ‘We have a cell phone ping in your city,’ here’s the plate and the car that you’re looking for,’” Floyd continued. “So we go to the flock system, we put the plate in, we could see that he’s hit a couple of our cameras and the last hit was him coming into the city and he had not left so we had a good indication that he was still here.”

A man in Michigan called 911 to report that his fiancée and her two teenage sons were fatally shot. However, it wasn’t until later that he admitted to committing the killings himself. Charles Broomfield first called 911 to report the deadly shootings on Tuesday, January 27. He told officers that he heard his fiancée, Jacqueline […]

The crime was further discussed in a press conference on Sunday, August 23, in which Washington County Detective Shannon Wilde said that authorities do not believe the killings were a “random act.”

Forest Grove Fire and Rescue addressed the tragedy in a Facebook post, saying they viewed the victims as “our friends and our neighbors.”

“Tragedies like our community experienced over the weekend are incredibly sad, while also being so hard on our hearts and souls. Even though many of you did not know the vibrant lives so needlessly lost, some of you most certainly did,” the department wrote on Facebook. “While others still undoubtedly moved past them in a local grocery store, restaurant, or our otherwise normal day to day lives. These were our friends, and our neighbors, and they too called this beautiful place home.”

Which Mormon Wives Stars Are, Aren’t Returning for Season 6?

Published

on

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has already been renewed for season 6 — but who is returning after offscreen cast exits?

Viewers were originally introduced to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast after the show premiered on Hulu in 2024. Among the stars front and center were Jen Affleck and husband Zac Affleck, Demi Engemann and husband Bret Engemann, Whitney Leavitt and husband Conner Leavitt, Mikayla Matthews and husband Jace Terry, Mayci Neeley and husband Jacob Neeley, Jessi Draper and Jordan Ngatikaura, Taylor Frankie Paul and then-partner Dakota Mortensen and Layla Taylor.

Miranda McWhorter, meanwhile, joined the show in season 2 after her split from Chase McWhorter.

Amid production on season 5, filming was halted after an alleged domestic violence incident between Taylor and Dakota in February 2026. Dakota and Taylor subsequently filed temporary restraining orders against each other.

The Bachelorette canceled Taylor’s season of the ABC reality dating series in March 2026 — days before its premiere — following leaked footage from 2023 showing Taylor attacking Dakota during a dispute.

A Disney Entertainment Television spokesperson said at the time, “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

Taylor confirmed the assault charges she faced “were all dropped” during a September 2025 interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, describing the incident as “the hardest time” in her life.

In April 2026, authorities confirmed that Taylor would not be charged with any crime for the February incident with Dakota. That same month, Us confirmed that SLOMW was set to resume production on season 5.

Hulu, meanwhile, subsequently renewed the hit series for 20 more episodes, which will span across seasons 6 and 7. Keep scrolling to see who is — and isn’t — returning for season 6:

A source previously confirmed to Us that Taylor would shoot scenes for season 5’s opening montage but was not expected to film anything else at the time. The insider shared that Taylor would be filming her montage scenes separately from the rest of the cast.

It isn’t clear how she would be involved in season 6. Dakota, meanwhile, “will not be involved” in the show moving forward.

After having a limited role in season 4, Demi isn’t expected to return full time to the show.

“We’re not done with season 5, and we’re filming for season 6 right now,” Layla said on an August 2026 episode of Hulu’s “Get Real” podcast before admitting she felt “exhausted.”

“But honestly, it makes sense,” she explained of the timeline. “It’s so hard. We have this battle that we — all of us girls talk about. When we’re not filming, I miss it. And I honestly get kind of bored and so much happens too conveniently when the cameras go down. So, it’s like at this point, just let’s just film the whole year.”

8 Essential Open-World Games, Ranked

Published

on

Grand Theft Auto III

Open-world games live or die by what happens between the objectives. A giant map means very little when every road leads to another icon, another checklist, and another activity designed to keep the completion percentage moving. The essential ones make wandering feel worthwhile. They give the player enough freedom to become curious, enough systems to create unexpected stories, and enough personality that the world starts feeling familiar long before every corner has been explored.

These eight games changed that formula in different ways. One helped establish the modern 3D city sandbox. Another gave players a world they could physically rebuild. And while Skyrim turned distraction into a lifestyle, later games pushed environmental storytelling, systemic exploration, and player freedom much further. The best open worlds rarely need to tell you where the fun is. They make getting lost feel like the correct decision. That’s what these 8 essential games gave to the world.

‘Grand Theft Auto III’ (2001)

Grand Theft Auto III dropped players into Liberty City and made the simple act of ignoring the mission feel revolutionary. This was long before waiting for GTA VI was cool. This was after those 2D graphics of GTA 1 gave the world something actual. GTA III follows Claude as he arrives in a criminal world divided among gangs, corrupt officials, mob families, and hustlers, but the city itself quickly becomes the main attraction. Cars can be stolen almost anywhere, police attention escalates according to your behavior, pedestrians react to chaos, and missions can be approached with enough freedom to encourage experimentation. Earlier open-world games had already explored many of these ideas, but GTA III put them together in a 3D city that millions of players could immediately understand.

Its importance is difficult to overstate because so much of the modern urban sandbox followed its basic grammar. Drive anywhere. Take work from different characters. Learn which districts are dangerous. Cause trouble simply because the systems allow it. Liberty City might look tiny beside later Rockstar maps, and the shooting and camera controls have aged considerably, but the sense of possibility remains easy to recognize. GTA III belongs here because open-world games after 2001 had to reckon with what Rockstar had just made possible.

‘Minecraft’ (2011)

Most open worlds give players a place to explore. Minecraft gives them a world and then hands over the construction rights. A new map begins with almost nothing beyond terrain, resources, animals, hostile creatures, and whatever goals the player decides to invent. Survival creates immediate priorities through food, shelter, tools, and danger after sunset. Creative Mode removes those limits and turns the same landscape into an unlimited building space. That flexibility is why a child constructing a dirt house and a technical player designing automated machinery can both be playing Minecraft correctly.

Its procedural generation also changed how people thought about exploration. A distant mountain, cave entrance, village, or strange biome matters because nobody placed a quest marker there asking for attention. The player noticed it. Redstone adds logic and engineering, multiplayer turns construction into collaboration, and years of updates have layered new dimensions, creatures, materials, and structures onto an already enormous foundation. Minecraft may barely resemble the cinematic open worlds surrounding it on this list, but that difference strengthens the argument. Few games have given players this much literal ownership over the space they inhabit.

A warrior with a horned helmet in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim begins with dragons returning to a northern province already fractured by civil war, and the player eventually discovers that their character is the Dragonborn. That sounds urgent. Skyrim then places a cave, village, ruin, strange stranger, or suspicious-looking mountain in your peripheral vision and happily lets the main crisis wait for another fifty hours. The province is built around distraction, with guilds, Daedric quests, ancient tombs, political conflicts, random encounters, and small stories competing constantly for attention.

Bethesda’s great strength here was making exploration feel conversational. A bartender can mention a rumor that becomes an entire questline. A road can lead to a fort that hides a journal pointing toward another mystery. Character progression reinforces that freedom because skills improve through use, allowing a heavily armored warrior to gradually become a stealth archer through the ancient RPG tradition known as changing your mind. Skyrim has bugs, repeated dungeon pieces, and combat that newer games have surpassed. Its pull, however, remains extraordinary. More than a decade later, people still reinstall it because returning to Whiterun somehow feels less like replaying a map and more like revisiting a place.

‘Grand Theft Auto V’ (2013)

A man on a bike in a highway in Grand Theft Auto V Image via Rockstar Games

Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto V is less a backdrop than an enormous satire with traffic and still sits in the heart of millions because of its online counterpart. The story rotates among Michael, Franklin, and Trevor, three criminals at different stages of ambition and self-destruction whose lives collide through robberies, government interference, and increasingly complicated schemes. Switching instantly between them gave Rockstar an elegant way to move across the map and made major missions feel broader than one character could manage alone.

The world around that story is ridiculously dense. Radio stations comment on the culture, strangers generate side stories, businesses and neighborhoods change the social texture of different areas, and the geography stretches from wealthy Los Santos streets to mountains, deserts, highways, and the communities around Blaine County. Its heists remain the structural highlight because preparation, crew selection, and execution give large missions a sense of scale without disconnecting them from the sandbox. GTA Online later became its own phenomenon, but the single-player map already demonstrated how much activity could coexist inside one convincing region. There is always another road worth taking, even when the GPS is begging you to behave.

Geralt of Rivia crosses The Witcher 3 searching for Ciri, his adopted daughter, while war and supernatural danger reshape the Northern Kingdoms around him. The emotional urgency of that search could have made every side activity feel like procrastination. Instead, CD Projekt Red filled Velen, Novigrad, Skellige, and the surrounding regions with stories substantial enough to justify stopping. A missing person can uncover family abuse. A monster contract may expose a human crime. A seemingly ridiculous village problem can become surprisingly sad before Geralt collects his payment.

That quest writing changed expectations for open-world RPGs because secondary content was given consequences, characters, and moral uncertainty rather than functioning as map cleanup. The Bloody Baron storyline remains famous for exactly that reason, though smaller contracts often achieve the same effect on a tighter scale. Geralt’s Witcher Senses, alchemy, signs, monster knowledge, and preparation also connect exploration to his profession. Even Gwent (the card game) gives taverns and merchants another reason to matter. The Witcher 3 contains an enormous amount of content, but quantity is never its best argument. The world stays memorable because so many detours feel authored with the same care as the road everyone was supposedly following.

3

‘Elden Ring’ (2022)

Elden Ring video game 2022
Elden Ring
Image via FromSoftware

Elden Ring takes FromSoftware’s demanding action RPG design and places it inside the Lands Between, a fractured realm where the player seeks the power necessary to become Elden Lord. The major bosses and legacy dungeons provide obvious milestones, but the game rarely treats them as appointments. A ruined church may conceal an upgrade. An elevator can descend into an underground region large enough to feel like another world. A harmless-looking cliff edge might hide a path that changes the next several hours.

That refusal to over-explain gives discovery genuine weight. The map begins incomplete, quest logs are minimal, and NPC storylines demand attention rather than constant interface reminders. Players learn through architecture, item descriptions, enemy placement, and the simple suspicion that FromSoftware probably hid something behind that wall. Build variety also makes exploration mechanically meaningful because spells, weapons, summons, talismans, and upgrade materials can completely alter how a character develops. The difficulty receives most of the conversation, but curiosity is the stronger engine. Elden Ring keeps rewarding the player who asks what is over there and then actually goes to check.

Your Universe Has Been Chosen
You Belong In…

Your answers point to the iconic universe your values, your instincts, and your particular way of seeing the world were built for. This is where you would find your people — and your purpose.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

You believe in the cause — in the idea that freedom is worth fighting for even when the odds are impossible and the empire is vast.

  • You are drawn to the moral clarity of a universe where hope itself is a form of resistance.
  • You’d find your people in the Rebellion — a ragtag coalition of true believers held together by conviction more than resources.
  • Star Wars is fundamentally a story about ordinary people choosing to matter in an extraordinary conflict — and that is exactly your kind of story.
  • The Force may or may not be with you. But the will to use it for something larger than yourself certainly is.

Middle-earth

Lord of the Rings

You understand, in the deepest part of yourself, that the journey matters as much as the destination — and that the world’s beauty is worth protecting even at great cost.

  • Middle-earth is a world of ancient wonder, deep friendship, and a darkness that only retreats when enough small acts of courage accumulate.
  • You would thrive here because you value the fellowship more than the glory — the road more than the arrival.
  • Tolkien’s universe rewards patience, loyalty, and the willingness to carry something heavy across a very long distance.
  • Those are not burdens to you. They are simply how you move through the world.

The Wizarding World

Harry Potter

You believe that love, loyalty, and doing what’s right are not naive sentiments — they are the most powerful forces in any world, magical or otherwise.

  • The Wizarding World is a place of wonder hidden in plain sight, where learning is transformative and the bonds you form at school follow you into every battle.
  • You would flourish here because you take both the magic and the friendships seriously — and you understand that one without the other is incomplete.
  • Harry Potter’s universe ultimately rewards those who choose to stand for something even when standing is terrifying.
  • That choice — made quietly, without guarantee — is something you understand completely.

Westeros · The Known World

Game of Thrones

You see the world clearly — its power structures, its hypocrisies, its brutal arithmetic — and you are not paralysed by that clarity. You use it.

  • Westeros is a world that rewards intelligence, adaptability, and the willingness to understand that every alliance is also a negotiation.
  • You would survive here — possibly thrive here — because you don’t confuse the world as it is with the world as you’d like it to be.
  • Game of Thrones is a story about what happens when the idealists and the realists collide. You are sharp enough to know which one lasts longer.
  • Winter always comes. You are already prepared.

The United Federation of Planets

Star Trek

You believe the future is worth building — that curiosity, cooperation, and the expansion of understanding are not just ideals but the most practical path forward for any civilisation.

  • Star Trek is a universe where the questions matter as much as the answers, and where encountering something utterly alien is cause for wonder rather than fear.
  • You would belong here because you are fundamentally optimistic about what intelligence and decency can achieve — while being honest about how hard that achievement is.
  • The Federation is the universe’s most ambitious thought experiment: what if we actually got better?
  • You don’t just hope that’s possible. You think it’s the only thing worth working toward.

‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ (2018)

Red Dead Redemption 2 follows Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang in 1899 as the American frontier closes around people who built their identities outside conventional society. The gang moves between temporary camps while robberies, law enforcement pressure, and Dutch van der Linde’s increasingly unstable leadership threaten the family Arthur has spent most of his life serving. Rockstar gives that story extraordinary space, allowing camp conversations, hunting trips, quiet rides, and encounters with strangers to build Arthur as carefully as any major mission.

The open world succeeds because it appears to continue without needing the player. Animals hunt one another. Travelers get robbed. Weather transforms roads and visibility. Towns carry different economies and social tensions, while Arthur’s appearance, horse, equipment, and relationships develop through ordinary routines. Some players find the deliberate animations slow. That physicality is also why actions develop weight. Cleaning a weapon, brushing a horse, cooking food, or returning to camp reinforces the feeling that Arthur inhabits this world rather than simply passing through it. Red Dead Redemption 2 is enormous, but its finest moments are often surprisingly small. Give it time and the frontier starts feeling painfully alive.

‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ (2017)

Hyrule opens almost immediately in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link awakens after a century, learns that Calamity Ganon has devastated the kingdom, and eventually receives the familiar responsibility of saving Princess Zelda. Nintendo then does something far more important. It lets the player decide how to get there. Mountains can be climbed from almost any direction, distant landmarks can be marked manually, and the physics and chemistry systems encourage solutions that feel discovered rather than prescribed.

That freedom reshaped open-world design because the landscape itself became the interface. Smoke suggests activity. Unusual rock formations invite inspection. Cold regions require preparation, thunderstorms make metal equipment dangerous, and abilities such as Magnesis, Stasis, and Remote Bombs can interact with the environment in ways that produce wonderfully personal solutions. Shrines teach individual ideas without dictating how those lessons must later be used. Weapon durability remains divisive, yet even that system keeps players experimenting instead of settling permanently into one loadout. All this essentially expands what GTA III or perhaps Elden Ringbrought to the table. Breath of the Wild makes curiosity feel like progress. You see something strange on a mountain, change direction, and an hour later realize the journey there became the story you will remember.

Britney Spears’ Son Teases Music Career

Published

on

Britney Spears

Britney Spears‘ sons are a living example of the apple not falling far from the tree!

One of the singer’s adorable boys may debut his musical project soon, making him the first in the family to follow in his iconic mother’s footsteps while also pursuing other creative endeavors.

Britney Spears welcomed Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline with her former husband Kevin Federline in 2005 and 2006, respectively, before their parents parted ways in 2007.

The actress’ son, who landed his first cover of MAC Cosmetics’ digital editorial platform, MACzine, said the next item on his agenda is to share his music with the world “when he’s ready.”

Jayden, the singer’s youngest child, has shown interest in fashion and music by appearing on runways alongside Sean, who has also decided to focus on music and a modeling career.

In a previous interview with Vogue, Sean described music as the foundation of everything for him, noting that it is what he and Jayden have gravitated toward their whole lives. In his latest cover shoot with MACzine, Jayden also touched on another interest: self-care, especially his skincare routine.

He broke down the steps to make his face look flawless, including a face wash, moisturizer, and a facial spray. In the same breath, Jayden praised his girlfriend, Gabrielle, for making sure he never skips a day of his routine.

“My girlfriend does my whole routine for me, so if you wanna ask her about that, I think she’s the better person,” Jayden declared as reported by US Weekly.

How Jayden James Federline And Sean Preston Federline Took Over Paris Fashion Week

The Vetements Paris show in June marked a major milestone for the boys, as they made their runway debut and brought their meanest, fiercest catwalk. Jayden and Sean have kept a relatively low profile all these years, making this appearance a rare one for the budding celebrities.

Sean kept it bold on the runway with a flawless catwalk in an all-black ensemble featuring baggy jeans, an oversized satin blazer and tie. Jayden raised the roof by pairing a white tank top with light-wash jeans and topping off the look with accessories, including a brown belt and silver chains.

The outing comes months after both brothers appeared on their mother’s Instagram while spending time together in March. Around that time, Sean was also reported to have adopted the “Spears” last name, and Britney couldn’t be more grateful to be around her kids once more.

The singer and her ex, despite their failed marriage, seemed to have one thing in common: giving their sons a normal upbringing, as Kevin himself acknowledged earlier.

Britney Spears’ Youngest Son Broke Decade-Long Red Carpet Hiatus Amid New Career Chapter

E! Online noted in May that Jayden appeared on the red carpet for the Dior Cruise 2027 fashion show in Los Angeles, marking his first red carpet appearance since 2015.

Jayden looked super stylish in a green bomber jacket, plaid shirt, distressed jeans, and black boots combo as he posed alongside an unidentified brunette woman at the star-studded event.

The superstar’s increasingly public presence follows his move back to Los Angeles after previously living in Hawaii with his father and stepmother, Victoria Prince. The family relocated to Hawaii in 2023 with Britney’s legal consent after Victoria got a job offer and Kevin found new opportunities to pursue.

However, fashion is not Jayden’s only creative interest, as his father revealed in his 2025 memoir “You Thought You Knew” that Jayden returned to L.A. to pursue his musical ambitions.

He described his younger son as naturally energetic and creative, recalling his childhood talent for imitating sounds, stressing that those qualities have since developed into a passion for music.

How The ‘Toxic’ Singer’s Sons Influenced Her Rehab Journey

Sean and Jayden’s renewed relationship with Britney has yielded positive results in the actress’ life, giving them considerable influence as concerns over Britney’s health intensified.

After being arrested for driving under the influence, family members and loved ones reportedly tried and failed to get her into professional treatment until her sons intervened.

As shared by The Blast, close sources claimed that concerns grew when Britney also fired her sobriety coaches, forcing her sons to approach her with firmness and care, insisting that treatment is not something they would compromise on.

At that point, Britney had no choice but to do what her sons wanted, as refusing could affect their relationship, so she signed up for the 30-day program, although she initially stalled the process. The Grammy winner was arrested in March on suspicion of driving under the influence in Ventura County, California.

Authorities alleged the singer had been weaving between lanes on Highway 101 and appeared impaired by drugs and alcohol.

Britney Spears Revealed Her Sons Were Behind Her Decision To Agree With Conservatorship

In her 2023 memoir, the singer gave a more in-depth look into how deep her emotional bond with Sean and Jayden ran. Beyond the several slides of images on social media of the singer and her children on vacation, in parks, and everywhere else, she admitted that they stood at the center of one of the most crucial decisions of her life.

Britney revealed that her need to maintain that bond and access to her boys was one reason she agreed to sign up for the conservatorship program, which held her for 13 years.

She explained that following the rules allowed her to regain access to her kids after a tumultuous custody battle where she was often faced with the fear of never seeing them again.

In “The Woman In Me” memoir, Britney described motherhood as a very transformative experience that gave her life a new meaning and left her with intense love for her kids. She recalled growing a protective instinct towards them as they grew up before a very rowdy media era.

What Is ‘Golden Axe’ About?

Whether you’re a longtime fan of the SEGA game or new to the world of Golden Axe, the Paramount+ series has something for everyone. From the minds behind animated hit series like Star Trek: Lower Decks and American Dad!, Golden Axe is a hilarious homage to the original 1989 video game series that follows veteran warriors Ax Battler (McIntyre), Tyris Flare (Gilroy), and Gilius Thunderhead, voiced by Emmy Award winner Matthew Rhys (Widow’s Bay). This trio once again unites to protect Yuria, facing foes head-on, time and time again, to wage war against the evil giant Death Adder (who just won’t stay dead!). Matters are made infinitely more difficult when Hampton Squib (Pudi), an eager but sorely inexperienced adventurer, joins their ranks to fulfill his dreams of questing.

Keep an eye out for an email from us. Only confirmed RSVP’s will gain admittance to the screening.

At last, the search is down to six names, including Jack Barton, Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, Paul Mescal, and Harris Dickinson. It’s the most concrete indication yet that the naming of Daniel Craig‘s successor is close at hand. Many of these names are among the much-rumored contenders, though Barton and Mescal are both relative surprises considering how heavily the others have been perceived as strong fits.

Donna Mills Recalls Dark Early Auditions With Andy Bachman

Published

on

Donna Mills Project Angel Food Lead with Love Five Year Anniversary Special

Old Hollywood has a way of looking pretty glamorous in hindsight. Ask Donna Mills about some of the auditions, though, and the picture gets a whole lot darker. During the August 24 episode of the Creators Inc. Podcast, the “Knots Landing” star sat down with host Andy Bachman and recalled what breaking into acting looked like for a young woman in New York, years before she became one of television’s most famous villains.

“You walk into the audition, and it’s in somebody’s apartment. It’s not a studio,” she explained. “And you look at the script and all of a sudden you’re supposed to be taking off your clothes, and then they start trying to paw you and stuff like that. It happened to me more than once when I was first starting out.”

When Bachman pointed out that “the feds would be on it quick” if the same thing happened today, Mills didn’t hesitate. “Yeah,” she agreed.

What she remembers just as clearly is how quickly the embarrassment turned inward. “As a young woman, you’re embarrassed,” she continued. “You go, ‘Why did I even go to that place? Why didn’t I think of this before this happened?’”

Now, she has no trouble putting the blame where it belonged. “There were a lot of guys back then that should have been taken off the streets,” she added.

Susan Sarandon And Jane Seymour Recall Their Own Disturbing Encounters

Mills was hardly the only woman coming up in that era who learned to be wary of what could happen behind a closed door. Susan Sarandon has recalled an early New York audition where a man “practically threw” her onto a desk, while Jane Seymour said a “major producer” once summoned her to his home to watch a screen test, only for her to arrive and find him there alone.

Sarandon described the encounter as “really disgusting” and said the man’s attempt was unsuccessful. The actress did not identify him or reveal which role she had been pursuing at the time, but said the incident occurred during her early days of attending auditions in New York.

Seymour’s experience reportedly had an even longer-lasting effect on her career. The actress said she had traveled to Hollywood for a screen test when another producer expressed interest in casting her in a separate movie. Her agent and the producer connected to the project she had already auditioned for were reportedly excited about the opportunity, but Seymour found no one at the producer’s home when she arrived.

Jane Seymour Says The Encounter Nearly Ended Her Acting Career

After showing Seymour her screen test, the producer allegedly told her he had already convinced everyone that she was perfect for his movie before suggesting it was her turn to do something for him. When Seymour said she believed her responsibility was to deliver another strong screen test, he allegedly placed his hand on her thigh.

Seymour pulled away and asked to leave, but the producer allegedly warned her not to tell anyone she had been at his home or risk never working again. She said the experience left her terrified and caused her to step away from acting for an entire year. “It stopped me from being an actress a whole year, and I could’ve quit the profession completely,” Seymour recalled, explaining just how deeply the encounter affected her.

Donna Mills Says Her ‘Knots Landing’ Role Changed Everything

For actresses trying to break in, apparently figuring out whether the audition was actually an audition could be part of the job.

Things looked different once Mills was playing Abby Cunningham, the ruthless blonde who spent nine seasons wreaking havoc on the “Knots Landing” cul-de-sac. “Most of the men seemed to be a bit scared of me because she was such a strong woman,” she noted. “They wouldn’t try anything with me.”

The role put Mills at the center of one of primetime’s biggest soaps. The “Dallas” spinoff ran for 14 seasons on CBS, climbed as high as No. 9 in the Nielsen rankings and is now streaming again on Prime Video and Plex.

Her fans, however, aren’t only finding her there.

Donna Mills Is Already Earning ‘Many Six Figures’ On OF

On July 30, Mills announced that she had joined OF with Creators Inc., the management company run by Bachman, who also serves as her manager. “I’ve always appreciated the incredible support and encouragement I’ve received from my fans over the years. Social media has been a wonderful way to stay connected, but I’m excited to join OF because it offers the opportunity for a more personal and direct connection,” she said in a statement to Variety.

That connection appears to be paying off. During their conversation, Bachman said Mills is already doing “many six figures” on the platform, just weeks after joining.

It’s familiar territory for the industry veteran, whose Creators Inc. has increasingly helped established stars turn longtime audiences into direct-to-fan businesses. He managed Shannon Elizabeth’s OF launch, which grossed more than $1.2 million in its first week, and has also worked with names including Jaime Pressly, Denise Richards and Carmen Electra.

“Everyone in this space has been monetizing attention,” Bachman told Entrepreneur earlier this year. “Almost nobody’s been monetizing access.”

Dolly Partons Health Updates Everything She Has Said About Her Illness

Before her death, Dolly Parton long planned a surprise for fans to keep her legacy alive.

The country music icon, who died at age 80 on Tuesday, August 25, recorded and locked away a new song around a decade ago at her Dollywood DreamMore Resort & Spa in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Parton died on Tuesday after a “brief battle with cancer,” her representatives confirmed.

“Our beloved Dolly Parton spent her life and career bringing joy, laughter, hope and integrity into everything she touched. Her unmatched generosity reached the lives of countless people whom she would never meet, yet she was always there to offer a helping hand,” a spokesperson for the late singer told People in a statement. “Whether it be the hundreds of millions of books donated through her invaluable Imagination Library or funding research that helped create a lifesaving vaccine used around the world, Dolly’s unconditional love for all people was the guiding force for her lasting impact.”

Hollywood is in mourning following the death of country music icon and actress Dolly Parton. “A rhinestone life that shone bright enough for the world to see, Dolly will forever stand as an inspiration not only through her timeless music and prolific songwriting, but also her wit, warmth and kindness that made us all feel […]

Where Is the Recording of Dolly Parton’s Last Song?

The recording of “My Place in History,” locked inside a chestnut box, is on display in the lobby of the DreamMore Resort & Spa.

“This chestnut ‘Dream Box’ is a repository of Dolly’s memories and wishes for the future. It will not be opened until Dolly’s 100th birthday on January 19, 2046,” a gold engraved plaque displayed alongside the box reads, per a photo published by Business Insider.

“The Dream Box itself is a tribute to her original mentor and uncle, Bill Owens, who has worked tirelessly to preserve the American Chestnut tree,” the plaque says.

It adds, “As a final tribute, Dolly has placed a song which she has written to be released as her last. Entitled, ‘My Place in History,’ only Dolly knows its melody and content until 2046.”

What Has Dolly Parton Said About the Song?

In her 2020 book, Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, the “Jolene” hitmaker wrote of the unheard track, “I don’t know if I want to live to be 100 or not. But you never know. I might, and if I do, I’m going to be at that opening.”

“There’s no telling what music is going to be by then. Hopefully, it will play and the whole thing ain’t rotted,” she added.

During a 2022 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Parton joked that the time capsule had “bothered” her because, “I wanna go dig that up so bad.”

Parton said “it’s a really good song,” but worried that the recording “might disintegrate” before the capsule can be opened.

“That’s what bothers me, to think it’s gonna be a song that nobody’s ever gonna hear if it rots in there before they open it,” she said.
