The celebs proved that mother knows best, arriving in looks from the fashion brand for a chic cocktail party hosted by founders Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding.

DJ Mei Kwok spun tunes as attendees sipped pink cocktails, caught up in the conversation pit, snacked on caviar from a cart, snapped pics by an analog phone installation, and, of course, shopped.

The 10 Greatest Side-Scrolling Games of All Time, Ranked

Published

on

Two characters fighting in Streets of Rage 4

Video games are one of the most popular mediums in the world nowadays, thanks to their increasing quality and the wider demographic that they reach. As titles continue to evolve, AAA blockbusters like Elden Ring and Red Dead Redemption 2 push gaming further. However, not everyone prefers hyperrealistic 3D graphics, instead opting for a more nostalgic 2D setting.

2D games aren’t just about nostalgia; they have a certain style of gameplay that just resonates with some players, which is why this list will rank the ten greatest side-scrolling video games of all time. Based on aspects such as design, gameplay, visuals, narrative, originality, entertainment value, fan opinion, critical acclaim, and overall quality, these ten games are the best of the best. Side-scrolling games need continuous motion, meaning games like Street Fighter and Super Smash Bros. are not eligible.

‘Streets of Rage 4’ (2020)

Side-scrolling games aren’t simply platformers, and they certainly are not just older games, and the proof lies with Streets of Rage 4, a modern arcade beat em up. A new crime syndicate has taken over Wood Oak City, and the children of the leader keep their rule in check. But old and new fighters unite to take down these usurpers and free the city from their tyrannical control.

Reviving old franchises of 16-bit arcade games is a tough challenge because they usually lack the soul of the original. However, Streets of Rage 4 is the rare exception that perfectly captured the aesthetic and soul of ’80s arcade beatdown games with revamped graphics and a modern feel. Further bolstered by smooth animation, fluid combat, and incredible gameplay, Streets of Rage 4 is the prime example of how to revive a franchise.

‘Cuphead’ (2017)

2D side-scrolling video games can be deceptively difficult, and if players still don’t believe that, then they should play Cuphead. The titular character has more than a couple of debts, but he and his brother, Mugman, make a deal with the devil in order to clear them. Now, Cuphead and Mugman must travel around the world and force the money out of other debtors of the devil to collect their soul contracts.

Cuphead is one of the most visually stunning video games of all time, creating a retro aesthetic that captures old-school animation perfectly. It does this by hand-drawing everything in painstaking detail, enhancing the style and vibe of this game. However, Cuphead is also considered one of the most challenging video games with its blend of unforgiving platforming and shooting gameplay.

8

‘Katana ZERO’ (2019)

Fans might think most of the games on this list feature older titles, but it actually consists mostly of modern video games, such as Katana ZERO. Subject Zero is an amnesiac assassin who takes up any contract that comes to him in a grimy neon-lit metropolis. He relies on a time-manipulating drug called Chronos for his powers, but when he stumbles upon a conspiracy behind it, he must uncover its origins.

For fans who want a modern side-scrolling game with exhilarating gameplay and flashy mechanics, Katana ZERO is the game for them. The blend of puzzles and action creates a distinct sense of gameplay that includes bullet-time, time-stopping, and high-stakes battles that turn into a rhythm of swordplay choreography that feels like a symphony of fluid combat. Not to mention, Katana ZERO also boasts an impressive narrative, meaning it can engage the player in multiple ways.

7

‘Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze’ (2014)

Nintendo is no stranger to 2D side-scrolling games, and they have a few titles on this list, starting with one of their modern titles, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. When the Snowmads invade Donkey Kong Island and blast DK and friends far away, the group must travel back to their home and take it back before the Viking-like animals get too comfortable.

The Donkey Kong Country franchise is critically acclaimed, but the newest game proves to be better than its predecessors because of its revamped platforming gameplay and tight level design. The Wii U has many great games, but the failure of the console means players didn’t get to experience the masterpiece that was Tropical Freeze. Simply satisfying to play, the level design is among the best of all time, making the side-scrolling platforming the best it has been.

6

‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ (1992)

There are a lot of renowned side-scrolling franchises, but one of the most popular is Sonic the Hedgehog, and his best video game is arguably Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Dr. Robotnik is after the Chaos Emeralds again, this time wanting to use them to power his new weapon, the Death Egg. Luckily, Sonic and Tails are here to stop him.

The original was great, but Sonic the Hedgehog 2 refined everything that it did, establishing itself as one of the most influential 2D side-scrolling games. It is momentum-based platforming at its best, creating a sense of movement unheard of for its time. Fast-paced, exhilarating, and non-stop action defines Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and its revolutionary movement.

5

‘Hollow Knight’ (2017)

Metroidvanias originated as side-scrollers, and they are still the best in this format, as proven by Hollow Knight. When the bug-like warrior, armored with nothing but a needle, learns that the world of Hallownest has been taken over by a plague that infects its residents, they must fight through it to learn the source of the infection and cure it before it takes over everyone.

Hollow Knight is the pinnacle of modern Metroidvania, thanks to its original narrative, fluid platforming, difficult bosses, and smooth, yet exciting combat. Outside of its gameplay, Hollow Knight is also fully hand-drawn, giving the world a greater aesthetic and enhancing the art and atmospheric vibe of it. All of this comes together to make it one of the best modern fantasy video games.

4

‘Inside’ (2016)

Side-scrolling games come in many shapes and forms, but most of them include some form of platforming or combat. However, Inside is a rare exception, as it follows an unnamed child wandering around a scientific experimentation facility looking for a way out. Unfortunately, the only way out is deeper into it, and the further gamers progress, the darker horrors they experience and uncover.

Players only walk forward in Inside, but it creates such a compelling experience through the pacing, mystery, and moments that spice up simple walking mechanics. It is a pure masterpiece that is regarded for its design, specifically using lighting to both teach and navigate players as well as add to the tense and eerie vibe. Inside is a quiet, yet cinematic game that dazzles with its environmental storytelling and incredible progression.

3

‘Super Metroid’ (1994)

Samus Aran face to face with giant alien monster Kraid in 'Super Metroid'

As mentioned earlier, the Metroidvania genre is inherently side-scrolling, and the most definitive game in the genre is Super Metroid. After Ridley steals a Metroid Larva, Samus Aran follows him to a planet known as Zebes. However, this isolated planet holds more than a hiding space pirate; it holds plenty of monsters and unknown mysteries that she will have to fight through.

There are many fantastic side-scrolling Metroidvania games, but Super Metroid is the most essential and defining game, even becoming a sci-fi video game blueprint of the genre. While atmospheric, the heart and prestige of Super Metroid lie in the way it teaches players and its progression design, flawlessly pacing the gameplay to keep it flowing and the players engaged.

2

‘Terraria’ (2011)

A construction in the video game Terraria

If fans are tired of jumping, shooting, or slashing, but still want to play a side-scrolling video game, then they should take a break and relax with Terraria. Gamers are put into a procedurally generated world with nothing but basic tools, but with them, they can explore, mine, and create massive settlements. But the bigger the town, the bigger the threats that want to destroy it.

Terraria can be relaxing, but it also provides tense combat where players need to battle Eldritch horrors. This blend of vibes has drawn so many fans to it, and when adding the addictive gameplay loop to the formula, Terraria is easily a side-scrolling masterpiece. There is no better 2D sandbox game than this acclaimed 2011 title, and making it a side-scroller is even more difficult.

1

‘Super Mario World’ (1990)

As this list previously said, Nintendo has some of the best side-scroller games, and most of them are from Mario. Super Mario World follows Mario on vacation in Dinosaur Land, but when Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach, the brave plumber and his brother, Luigi, team up with Yoshi to travel across the kingdom and rescue her.

Super Mario Bros. is more legendary, iconic, and influential, but Super Mario World is 2D Mario at its peak, perfecting the formula. Shifting away from solely linear progression, it redefined 2D platformers with its level design, adding a vertical layer and rewarding curiosity and exploration. From the art to the design to the levels, progression, and reinvented gameplay, Super Mario World became a 1990s video game masterpiece and the best side-scrolling title.

General Hospital Early Spoilers Aug 31-Sept 4: Drew Turns Rogue & Ava’s Scheme Detonates!

Published

on

General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Cain Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) - (Maura West)

General Hospital spoilers for Aug 31-Sept 4, 2026 excite with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) doing some crime trying to cover up evidence of another of his crimes. Plus, Ava Jerome‘s (Maura West) trap explodes this week. But will it be on her target or is it going to blow up in Ava’s face?

Also, in the week of August 31st through September 4th, we’ve got Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) making threats. Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) is fighting more jealous feelings and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)’s guilt is hitting him hard. Plus, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is pushing back.

And as we always do on early edition day, we go over what is happening the rest of this week and then we’re going to get into what is coming the week ahead. So, let’s get right to it.

General Hospital Spoilers: Tristan’s Past Revealed

Wednesday, August 26th on General Hospital, we’ve got Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) telling someone about his past. And at this point, we don’t know much. We know he’s a doctor and we also know he was a medic for the WSB because he was in Indonesia with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). So, maybe he’s talking to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), but of course things are already tense between them.

He might also be talking to Josslyn since they were vibing after Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) introduced them. And we know that Dean Geyer chemistry tested with Eden McCoy. Brennan is getting nowhere with Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner). So it looks like he’s trying to get some kind of information from her at General Hospital.

We also have Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) in a rage. I suspect she is upset because Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) tells her she got leverage on someone by taping their conversation where he admitted to evidence tampering using WSB resources to help her. I think Nina is going to tell her daughter to delete it, but Willow claps back and tells Nina, “I’m not letting go of it until I get what I need.” Which of course she wants blackmail to use on Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson).

GH Spoilers: Kai Shocks Alexis

Alexis gets a surprise visit from Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup), who tells the lady lawyer something shocking. So, Kai says, “I’m pretty sure Willow tried to kill Drew – again.” Now Kai may tell Alexis about Drew trying to communicate and blinking to not tell Willow he can move. That’s valid, but I think Kai’s going to share his suspicion that Willow pushed Drew into the lake, which she definitely did not do and has an alibi for. Willow wasn’t even around when it happened. But I think this is why Alexis confronts Willow this week.

Also, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) makes it very clear who she is loyal to, and I’m assuming that’s her telling Drew that she’s sticking with her new boss, Michael. So, Jordan has a sit down with Drew, and asks if Michael is someone he is really willing to work with. History would tell us no, but I’m very curious if Drew is legit looking to play nice or if he wants to get close to Michael as part of his plan to target Sonny.

Simply put, I don’t trust Drew at all. We also have Sonny advising Michael and Sonny’s telling Michael something big. Sonny says, “I will regret that until the day I die.” So, it sounds like some sort of mistake from his past. Maybe they’re talking about Michael getting burned in the penthouse explosion or Sonny shooting Michael’s dad dead. Lots of things to choose from.

General Hospital Spoilers: Drew & Ava Plot

This week, Drew tells Ava he needs her to keep Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) busy so Drew can go search a hotel room. So, it looks like Drew gives her some stuff so that Ava can drug someone’s drink. I doubt that Nina is going to like it if she finds out that her good friend Ava is drugging someone to help Drew, whom Nina absolutely despises, and Ava knows all this.

Josslyn tells Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), “Accept my decision and do not interfere.” So, it sounds like Joss is telling Carly that she is going to run JJE, but I’m guessing that Joss is not going to tell Carly that she’s only doing this on the WSB‘s orders.

Also, this week, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is in his prison cell and is stunned to see Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) right there. This is absolutely karma coming for Curtis for all the nastiness that he flung falsely at Isaiah Gannon (SawandiWilson). I don’t feel bad that Curtis is going to have to deal with Sidwell.

GH Spoilers: Emma & Gio Get an Earful

Then on Thursday, August 27th’s episode of General Hospital, Emma Scorpio-Drake (Brayden Bruner) and Giovanni Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) hear some people arguing. Could be Alexis bickering with Willow because on Thursday, it looks like Alexis is hurling threats at Willow. So, Alexis tells Willow she knows that she shot Drew. And Alexis says she’s not going to stay quiet about it anymore.

So, she may tell Willow she’s going to the cops. Of course, she can’t be charged again. But this can be used in a custody case, used to get her out of Congress. You know, they could say she perjured herself on the stand. I’m curious if Alexis tries to blackmail Willow and says, “Find a way to get Drew to drop the restraining orders and I’ll sit on your dirty secret.” That could be interesting.

Drew is still hung up on getting revenge. We know he wants to get back at Nina and Willow, but Drew can’t do anything to them right now until he destroys the blackmail that someone has on him. Something shocks Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) on Thursday and Ava feels slighted by someone. So, this may be her new partner in crime, Drew, because she’s helping him with his dirty work against someone when really she wants to focus on Sonny. That was who their agreement was to go after.

General Hospital Spoilers: Ava Springs into Action

Friday, August 28th on General Hospital, Ava gets her trap ready. So, this may be with her drugging Brennan as Drew asked, but how long until he goes back to his room if he’s drugged and groggy? And then somebody waylas Drew. This may be when he’s on his way to snoop in someone’s hotel room to look for that evidence.

Drew’s on a ticking clock and doesn’t have time to be interrupted. Sonny makes Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) a promise. I’m guessing this is something to do with her trip to see Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) in Ireland. We also have Anna supportive of someone on Friday.

My first thought would be Emma, but Anna could be offering fake support while she’s toying with Britt on someone’s orders. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Carly make a decision about something on Friday, and it may be about him pursuing ELQ versus buying up Sidwell’s businesses to run. So, we’ll see.

General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Cain Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) - (Maura West)General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Cain Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) - (Maura West)
General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Cain Quartermaine – Ava Jerome

GH Spoilers: Curtis Faces Rough Road Ahead

Then, the week of August 31st through September 4th, we’re going to see Curtis really struggling in prison, more so now that Sidwell is there in his face. I suspect things are gonna get real hard for Curtis thanks to Sidwell. He may even hurt Curtis to punish Jordan for betraying him. Sidwell also might try and set up Curtis so he won’t get that parole in two years like he’s hoping for.

Brooklyn and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) are headed for heartbreak when Hudson Parker (Troy Lennon Appel) claims Phoebe because he is going to fight to overturn that adoption at some point. I suspect Hudson may dig into the adoption attorney and may go see Alexis.

Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali)’s stalker escalates soon. My money’s on Quinn (Jequan Jackson) the football guy who played with Kai, but record executive Simon (Grady Eldridge) is also super creepy, so he’s a candidate. We’ll see who acquires Sidwell’s assets when the police auction happens.

Looks like it’s going to be Sonny and Drew in a bidding war over those piers. Meanwhile, Valentin’s not planning to bid on those, but he does want some of Sidwell’s legit businesses. We’ll see fallout from Drew trying to get the evidence against him away from someone.

General Hospital Spoilers: Ava Faces Nina

Ava may not get away with drugging someone. I’m betting he recognizes the signs and he may confront her, but Ava is a smooth talker who is all about lying and denying. But if Nina finds out, she will be angry at Ava.

We’re going to see more of Ric fighting his jealousy. Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) just talked him down, but I suspect Ric is triggered again about Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), and next time he may not be able to stop him from lashing out and saying something to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst).

We may see Anna targeting Britt soon, and also anyone who gets in her way. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and Jason may also be in danger from Anna as well. And we’re going to see more on Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and his new roommate, Detective Joe, with sparks flying soon.

Prayers Up! 54 Americans Among Hundreds Missing After Deadly Nepal Floods (VIDEO)

What should have been a routine day for tourists, workers, and locals in the Himalayan region quickly turned into a fight for survival. Terrifying footage captured people running as a massive wall of water and debris came crashing through the Gyirong border area between Nepal and China-controlled Tibet, leaving a path of destruction behind. At least 160 people have been killed across the region, while hundreds remain missing — including dozens of Americans.

RELATED: Oh Wow! 10-Year-Old Boy Says He Doesn’t Remember Lifeguard’s Viral Rescue From Rough California Waves (UPDATE)

54 Americans Among Hundreds Missing After Nepal Floods

Nepalese officials said hundreds of tourists and foreign nationals were unaccounted for after the catastrophic flooding swept through northern Nepal’s Rasuwa district near the Tibet border. Among those initially reported missing were 54 Americans, along with travelers from India, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and several other countries. Three of the Americans were reportedly traveling with Nepal-based Fishtail Tours and Travel. The U.S. Embassy in Nepal has urged Americans in affected areas to avoid low-lying locations, seek higher ground, and follow instructions from local authorities as search-and-rescue operations continue.

Floods Leave Destruction And Rescue Crews Scrambling

The disaster devastated riverside communities and mountain corridors, sweeping away homes, businesses, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure. Nepal reported at least 157 deaths, while Chinese state media reported three deaths and hundreds missing in Tibet’s Gyirong County. Damaged roads, blocked routes, heavy sediment, and rugged terrain have complicated rescue efforts. Chinese President Xi Jinping called for an intensive search operation in Tibet, while Nepal deployed security forces and helicopters to evacuate survivors and search for the missing.

The cause remains under investigation. Nepal’s foreign minister initially said that an avalanche, possibly triggered by an earthquake, may have caused the flooding. The U.S. Geological Survey initially detected what appeared to be a 4.4-magnitude earthquake, but later clarified that the signal came from the landslide itself. Experts now believe an ice or glacier-related collapse may have unleashed the massive torrent of water and debris, underscoring the growing risks posed by increasingly unstable Himalayan glaciers and high-altitude terrain.

International Aid Arrives As Search Efforts Continue

As families wait for word on missing loved ones, international assistance is beginning to move into the region. India has offered humanitarian supplies and essential medicines, while international relief organizations and European officials have pledged support. The European Union has also activated its Copernicus satellite service to help map the disaster zone and assist with the emergency response. Meanwhile, rescue crews in Nepal and Tibet are searching mud and debris-covered areas as officials warn the full scope of the catastrophe remains unclear.

The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) - Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock)

The Bold and the Beautiful early weekly spoilers for Aug 31-Sept 4, 2026 deliver drama with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) turning to somebody for help. She needs some support in a little bit of a crisis that she’s having. The good news is Hope’s going to get what she needs. And also, Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) fights back when she is repeatedly attacked and has had enough of it.

Also, in the week of August 31st through September 4th, we’ve got Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) making moves. Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) stuns her hubby Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor). And Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) has some doubts, but he may soon be convinced about something.

And as we always do on early edition day, we’re going to go over what’s happening the rest of this week and then we’ll get into what is ahead for next week. So, let’s talk about all of it.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Sheila Seeks Out Deacon

Wednesday, August 26th on B&B, we have Sheila kind of struggling and she’s really trying to figure out how to move forward. She’s sorting out how to live life without Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) or Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) or Hayes in it. This carries over from Tuesday’s episode when Sheila went to see Deacon and told him that she didn’t get her miracle in Monaco.

And then she asked Deacon, “How are things going with Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig)?” And Sheila was really stunned to hear that Deacon said he proposed to Taylor and she turned him down. And Sheila reiterated that she can’t be part of Finn’s life and Deacon isn’t getting what he wants from Taylor. Kind of saying we’re in the same boat.

But Deacon also told Sheila that Taylor still wants to be with him. She just doesn’t want to get married. But Sheila, I think kind of, you know, meanly reminded Deacon that Taylor walked down the aisle with Ridge many, many times. And I suspect now that Sheila knows that Deacon was rejected, she might come sniffing around to see if he might be open to leaving Taylor for her.

B&B Spoilers: RJ on a Mission

RJ Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) tries to make a name for himself. So, he and Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) pitched their new youth line idea to Ridge, who was a little unsure about it, mostly because Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) isn’t going to like Hope being replaced.

But, I think this line is going to be a go. And RJ may suggest himself as the lead designer overseeing the line because one of Ridge’s concern was Electra having too much on her plate with the jewelry line and this new youth line. But Electra is the muse and face of the line, not the designer.

It doesn’t seem like it would tax her too awful much. We also have Dylan defending her actions. I’m sure carrying over from Tuesday that Katie Logan (Heather Tom) is going to continue her nastiness towards Dylan. You would think that Katie would be less critical of somebody like Dylan who came from a modest background.

I mean, Katie is also from a middle-class family unlike silver spoon in her mouth Electra. Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) already told his mom Katie to stop it, but she won’t let up. She freaked out on Will for sleeping with Dylan, but Will has realized he and Electra are done and over for good.

B&B Spoilers: Katie thinks Dylan’s a Gold Digger.

Katie also thinks Dylan has other motives for wanting to be with Will other than just her feelings for him. She’s pushing this whole gold digger thing. However, a source who leaks very reliable stuff says that Katie wants the truth about Dylan’s past and will confront her about her relationship with Remy Pryce (Christian Weissmann). I mean, they’re cousins. Dylan can’t help who is part of her family. And apparently Katie is also going to bring up Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada).

So, it sounds like Katie is going to accuse Melissa Dylan of being close to these two villains, Remy and Luna. And of course, Luna targeted Will. And none of that is true. You know, Luna tied Melissa Dylan up and held her hostage. As for Remy, I wonder if Electra tells Katie that they are cousins. But Dylan was upfront with Electra. Dylan told Electra about Remy, so I think Katie’s just mudslinging and trying to taint Will’s opinion of her.

Bold and Beautiful Spoilers: Dylan faces Her Past

Thursday, August 27th on The Bold and the Beautiful. Dylan has to acknowledge her past. We also have Kelly Sullivan making her debut today as Darcy Dylan (Kelly Sullivan), her mom. And we’re going to get a look into Dylan’s history. So, part of this may be about Remy. We have Dylan calling her mom Darcy on the phone.

And I suspect Dylan may tell Darcy some of what’s going on with Katie because Darcy looks upset on her behalf. She tells Dylan she’s going to get to LA as soon as she can. And Dylan says, “Thank you.” So, I suspect that Darcy is going to get upset that her daughter is being treated unfairly and is going to rush to help her.

The Remy thing is something Darcy can address directly because nobody in the family knew he was a psycho. We also have Hope getting some fatherly advice from Deacon when she’s having a little bit of a crisis. This could be about business stuff at Logan. But I tend to think it may be about Hope’s estrangement from Brooke.

I’m sure Deacon doesn’t want Hope to give up on repairing her relationship with Brooke. I’m also interested to see if Deacon’s going to tell Hope about Taylor rejecting his marriage proposal.

Bold Spoilers: Carter & Steffy’s Secret Closer to Coming Out

Friday, August 28th on The Bold and the Beautiful. We’ve got Carter and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood)’s secret coming to a head. Now, we know this week that Daphne shocks Carter by saying that she modeled their marriage after Steffy and Finn’s marriage, which is kind of crazy.

And we’ve seen Carter and Steffy going back and forth about their secret. They’re up at the office. They’ve been too loud about it. Steffy finally agreed to keep it secret, but if they keep talking about it, somebody could absolutely overhear and then they will be busted.

Also this week, Finn tells Steffy nothing in their future can ever come between them. She really wanted to tell Finn the truth about the cheating, but Carter finally convinced her and so Steffy agreed to keep it secret. This is mostly for Carter’s sake because Finn would one hundred percent forgive Steffy, but Daphne would one hundred percent not forgive Carter or Steffy.

Then the week of August 31st through September 4th on Bold and Beautiful, we’re going to learn more about Melissa Dylan and her history before she came to LA now that her mom Darcy is in town. I am really looking forward to that. Plus, now that Will and Dylan have gotten intimate, I think their relationship is going to move forward and we’re going to see her over at Will’s house a lot more often.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Katie Not Letting Up

Unfortunately, I expect to see Katie continuing to barge in to berate Dylan and insult her, which is only going to drive a wedge between Katie and Will. I also expect Bill to tell Katie to back off and let Will live his life. Bill doesn’t want his son with Electra, and Katie shouldn’t either. We also should see Hope and another character working on their next line at Logan.

And RJ and Electra should get the green light on the youth line. And I expect Dylan to find out and to mention to Will that she knows what RJ and Electra’s big top secret project is. I think Will deserves to hear all of this after Electra’s insanity saying that he betrayed her for keeping company secrets for Logan.

I suspect we might see Deacon and Taylor’s relationship start to get a little rocky, at least on Deacon’s side, because the rejected proposal is going to continue to eat at him. And you know, Sheila is going to keep coming around to comfort Deacon and maybe flirt and maybe make some moves and, you know, maybe he starts to think, you know, some buyer’s remorse about giving up Sheila.

Daphne and Carter may start looking into their options to start a family if that dirty secret stays hidden. I think they may consider IVF and Steffy may offer to donate an egg to Daphne and Carter, but I also think Steffy may turn up pregnant from her drunken night of passion with Carter.

Young and Restless Early Spoilers Aug 31-Sept 4: Lily Stirs Trouble & Victor Loses Control!

Published

on

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) - Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)

The Young and the Restless early weekly spoilers Aug 31-Sept 4 bring concern with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) provoking someone trying to prove a point. Also, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is agitated by two of his children and his wife and things may spiral out soon for the Newmans.

Also, in the week of August 31st through September 4th, we’ve got Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) pushing back, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) making a big move, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) worried, and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is absolutely frantic.

And as we always do on early edition day, we’re going to go over what’s happening the rest of this week and then we’re going to get into what is coming next week. So, let’s talk about all of that.

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victoria & Kyle Plot

Wednesday, August 26th on The Young and the Restless. We’ve got Victoria coming to see Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) at Jabot. She’s really excited about this rivalry concept and Victoria’s begging Kyle to agree, but he says he hasn’t talked to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and he’s sure Victoria didn’t tell Victor. And then Kyle says his parents are going out of town, so he’s not going to bug them about this.

Jack and Diane show up and find Kyle and Victoria together, but Kyle tells his parents they do not need to know what it’s about and that they should focus on their trip. Diane objects to this, but Jack overrides and agrees to it. And he tells Victoria he’ll be back in case Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wants him to be his sponsor, and Victoria appreciates that. Victoria says Victor is devoted to Nick’s recovery, but Diane says Victor only cares about himself. And then Jack drags Diane away before things get worse and says, “Let’s just forget about Victor.”

They debate who should judge the Vibrante versus Jabot rivalry as Victoria and Kyle continue their conversation. And then Victoria brings up Kyle’s wardrobe malfunction for that Jabot sunscreen campaign. If you don’t recall, the product was called Birthday Suit. And Kyle came out of the water at the GCAC roof pole without his trunks and was like, “Whoops, it was an accident.” But he tells Victoria it wasn’t really a malfunction. And Kyle teases Victoria for remembering him in his birthday suit. Kyle also says Victoria hasn’t seen anything yet. Very flirty. They toast to the project. Victoria teases that Victor might disown her for this.

Y&R Spoilers: Jack Shuts Lily Down

Meanwhile, Diane and Jack wonder what Kyle and Victoria are plotting, but they think it’s about business, not personal stuff. Jack goes to see Lily at her place and rejects her offer to pay off the loan. She was hoping Jack would let her keep Chancellor by doing this. But Jack says there was a contract, the debt wasn’t repaid, and the Abbott claim is legit.

Jack said if Jon didn’t want it honored, he would have destroyed the documents. So, Jack basically is saying he’s not going to tear the Abbott family apart over this and tells Lily, “Work it out with Billy.” Jack says Lily knows the claim’s legit. That’s why she offered to pay it off. And Jack asks if it would be so tragic if Billy wins it.

Then Lily takes a call from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) about getting their lawyers together. He’s hoping they can avoid a messy suit. And Lily invites him over to talk. She brings up Billy’s past mistakes and Lily tells him Jack is on his side because she offered to pay back the loan. And Lily tells Billy that he should prove to her he’s the best person to run Chancellor.

Young and Restless Spoilers: Victor & Nick Share a Moment

Meanwhile, Victor goes to see Nick at rehab. Victor’s really glad that he invited him. He doesn’t want his son to feel ashamed and says he was too hard on Nick growing up. And then Nick tells Victor about Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow).

And Victor asked if they’re getting close and basically he doesn’t think Nick being around Marie is a good idea. But Nick likes having her around. He says Marie’s smart and funny. And he says watching her overdose helped him understand what the family went through when he overdosed.

After Victor goes, Marie shows up later and tells Nick that her husband is filing for a divorce and his lawyer contacted her. So Marie tells Nick she’s stressed about paying for a lawyer, stressed about paying for rehab, and Marie says, “You got to pay for your mistakes.” And then she asks Nick to help her find some drugs because she is spiraling.

But Nick talks Marie down and wants to know why she wants to get high. And she tells Nick the divorce is going to be blamed on her and she already feels like a failure. Nick comforts Marie and tells her he’s been divorced many times, which is true. And Nick says he just can’t let her use because then he might relapse and use too. So he hugs and comforts Marie.

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Kyle & Victoria Heat Up

Thursday, August 27th on The Young and the Restless, Kyle and Victoria’s rivalry takes a steamy turn. There’s still a pitch drinking and talking about annoying Victor. And Victoria tells Kyle she’s gonna love knocking the swagger out of him in this rivalry. Then they start passionately making out.

Meanwhile, Lily is continuing to challenge Billy. This carries over from Wednesday’s episode when Lily wants Billy to convince her he’s the right guy to run Chancellor. Lily warns Billy it’s not going to be an easy sell. So, I wonder if he’s going to actually legit pitch himself to Lily or if Billy’s going to get annoyed and just walk out.

Phyllis gets between Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) at the GCAC bar and Phyllis demands Adam tell her where the heck Matt is and what the Newmans did with him. So, Phyllis obviously can’t find Matt and she’s freaking out.

Then, Adam wants to know what is going on between her and Matt. Also, this week, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) and Phyllis bicker at the GCAC bar. I suspect Daniel is shocked his mom’s with bad guy Matt and she might be annoyed Daniel is working with Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and not her.

Y&R Spoilers: Matt Sees Patty

Friday, August 28th on The Young and the Restless. Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) reconnects with Matt. We know Patty’s in a high-security psychiatric hospital for hopefully decades. So, we’ll see if Matt went there to visit or if Victor had Matt tossed in there with Patty. Plus, Phyllis goes over to the house and goes off on Victor, accusing him of making Matt disappear. So, we’ll see if Victor is behind it, but he’s not giving anything away. And that may just be him enjoying putting Phyllis through some torment.

Jack and Diane are ready to head off on their romantic trip. We also have Sally and Billy talking at Society this week and it looks tense. Sally’s not happy and Billy’s trying to say going after Chancellor isn’t about power and how things are different this time. We’ll see if this is after he faces off with Lily about Chancellor and how that turns out. Also, Cane is over at Lily’s place having wine and I’m sure the topic of conversation is Billy and Chancellor.

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Billy Headed Downhill

Then the week of August 31st through September 4th on The Young and the Restless, Billy may spiral even if Lily hands over Chancellor because this is like giving a fully loaded crackpipe to an addict. Billy may run Power Mad and even worse, Billy may run Chancellor right into the ground. For me, I’d be happy to never hear Chancellor mentioned again.

Phyllis will be stunned to find out Matt was spending time with Patty. Also, actress Amelia Heinle) said in a recent interview that Kyle and Victoria’s affair escalates quickly and it’s definitely going to cause a lot of angst among the Newmans and Abbotts.

I imagine with Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) in particular, also with Victor. She said she didn’t think that The Young and the Restless was actually going to go there with Kyle and Victoria, but they are. And she’s really excited and she is throwing herself fully into it. So, look for them to start heating up quickly.

And I expect Kyle to rub this all in Victor’s face and Victoria’s dad is going to lose it. Diane and Jack may not stay gone as long as she wants on their trip if Nick needs his help. We’ll also see if surgery is going to work out for Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) hand and they’ll be back as a surgeon themselves soon. Look for them and Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) to heat up soon as well.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor’s marriage may be tested again soon because she wants Jack to sponsor Nick and because Victoria is climbing in bed with Kyle Abbott. I expect Marie and Nick to get much closer and cross the line from friends to something more.

Kelly Reilly’s 10/10 Detective Thriller Officially Returns With Major Season 2 Change

Published

rafe-spall-under-salt-marsh-sky-series

Yellowstone might have ended, but its cast is still booking high-profile jobs in film and television. Chief among them is Kelly Reilly, who has another Yellowstone-sized hit under her belt thanks to Under Salt Marsh. Created by Claire Oakley, Under Salt Marsh made a strong impression, with the premiere racking up 1.8 million viewers in its first seven days, according to parent network Sky. That eclipsed fellow Sky breakout Day of the Jackal, and now Under Salt Marsh has officially been renewed for a second season. The series streams exclusively on Peacock, also following in the footsteps of Day of the Jackal.

Under Salt Marsh features what’s arguably one of the darkest premises for a mystery series. Schoolteacher Jackie Ellis (Reilly) discovers that one of her students, Cefin Hill, has drowned. For Jackie, this death opens up old wounds: Three years earlier, she was working as a detective until the disappearance of her niece led to her losing her job and the trust of her family. When her former partner Eric Bull (Rafe Spall) returns to investigate Cefin’s death, Jackie uncovers a mountain of lies that connects the current tragedy to her past one.

‘Under Salt Marsh’ Features a Star-Studded Cast With ‘Slow Horses’ and ‘Industry’ Alums

In addition to Reilly and Spall, Under Salt Marsh features a cast packed with talent. Jonathan Pryce (Slow Horses), Harry Lawtney (Industry), Brian Gleeson, and Maggie Yang all have major roles within the series, but it’s Reilly — who also serves as an executive producer on Under Salt Marsh — that is the center of the story. Claire Oakley previously described what Reilly would bring to the table when Under Salt Marsh was first announced:

“At the heart of it all is Jackie, a character who embodies the wildness of the place we’re depicting…She’s free-spirited, compassionate, and determined, with a steely resolve that makes her truly of the land. We’re absolutely thrilled to have Kelly Reilly [bring] Jackie to life.”

Under Salt Marsh, in addition to receiving sky-high reviews for Sky, is also a critical darling. It earned a coveted 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with most reviews praising the layered story and Reilly’s performance. Despite Yellowstone‘s ups and downs, most agreed that Reilly’s performance as Beth Dutton was one of the show’s best parts, so it’s not surprising to learn that she once again holds thespotlight in a thriller like Under Salt Marsh.

‘Under Salt Marsh’ Is Officially Returning for Season 2

The success of Under Salt Marsh has now secured its future. Sky officially renewed the mystery thriller for a second season on August 26, with filming set to begin next year. This time, however, the story will leave the fictional Welsh village of Morfa Halen behind and follow Eric Bull (Rafe Spall) to Scotland.

According to Sky, Season 2 will find Bull drawn to a remote Scottish mining village that is “sinking under the weight of its own secrets.” A new murder investigation will also lead him closer to the truth about his own past. Creator and EP Oakley said she was “thrilled” to take the series to another part of the U.K. and explore another mystery filled with buried secrets.

The renewal arrives after Under Salt Marsh earned widespread critical acclaim. Season 1 currently holds a perfect 100% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, while critics praised the show’s atmospheric, deliberately paced approach to the mystery genre. The fact that Under Salt Marsh has also hooked such a large audience speaks to Sky fast becoming the new home for well-crafted thrillers, helpingimpact Peacock as those thrillers strengthen its streaming library, proving it can have the kind of smash hits that fuel Netflix or HBO Max.

Kelly Reilly’s ‘Yellowstone’ Spin-Off Is Already a Hit

Under Salt Marsh doesn’t mark the end of Reilly’s tenure in the Yellowstone universe. Reilly now headlines Dutton Ranch alongside Rip Wheeler actor Cole Hauser, with Beth and Rip leaving Montana behind to build a new life in South Texas. The series premiered on Paramount+ earlier this May and has already proven to be another major hit for the franchise, drawing 12.9 million viewers globally in its first seven days. Paramount+ renewed Dutton Ranch for Season 2 just over a month after its premiere, ensuring Reilly’s time as Beth Dutton is far from over.

Arguably one of the most talented actresses working today, Under Salt Marsh is proof of that for Reilly, and with a second season now officially on the way and a U.S. Peacock premiere still ahead, the acclaimed mystery thriller is only getting started.
