‘Mindhunter’ Is Officially Cancelled, So Stop Asking David Fincher About It
If you are a TV fan, you’ve no doubt had to deal with the premature loss of a favorite show. Before the streaming era, shows like My So-Called Life, Freaks and Geeks, and Pushing Daisies all ended before their time. Then along came Netflix, the ultimate heartbreaker. Did you enjoy that take on Daredevil? Too bad, it’s gone. Were you a fan of Mike Flanagan’s The Midnight Club? Sorry, it’s over — go read the book. Were you impressed by Dark, so now you’re checking out 1899 because it’s made by the same people? I don’t know how to tell you this, but you’re not getting the answers to all of those questions the series asked. If you get involved with a Netflix series, you pretty much go in knowing the risks. You’re getting involved with a show that could break up with you at any moment, no matter how new it is or how good it’s going.
‘Mindhunter’ Was One of Netflix’s Best Series
Another victim of Netflix’s fear of commitment was Mindhunter, which ran from 2017 to 2019. But it was a show that had everything going for it. David Fincher was one of Hollywood’s elite film directors, creating such masterpieces as Seven, Fight Club, Zodiac, and The Social Network. Then came the news that he was working with Netflix on an adaptation of the 1995 true-crime book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Serial Elite Crime Unit. Written by former FBI agent John E. Douglas, the book looked into the lives of real-life criminal profilers. For Fincher, who built a career on making crime thrillers, pairing him with this book and Netflix was a match made in heaven. It wasn’t his first time working with Netflix either, as he had already been an executive producer and director on House of Cards.
The series turned out as well as anyone could have expected, completely living up to the hype. It wasn’t just Fincher’s dark, slow-burn storytelling that made it work. He was also assisted by a stellar cast, including Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany as FBI agents, and Cameron Britton in a quiet but creepy performance as serial killer Ed Kemper. Britton’s impression of Kemper was so spot on that the actor earned himself an Emmy nomination.
Season 2 ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. An arrest had just been made in the Atlanta child murders, and the frightening scenes of the BTK killer were growing more intense. Season 3 looked to continue the macabre mayhem, except it never came to be. In early 2020, it was announced that the cast had been released from their contracts. Netflix put out a statement to TVLine, saying, “David is focused on directing his first Netflix film Mank, and on producing the second season of Love, Death and Robots. He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn’t fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own.” That meant Season 3 would eventually come, right? No. In short, the show was unofficially cancelled, but getting fans to accept that would take some time.
David Fincher Has Had To Continously Answer Questions About the Status of ‘Mindhunter’
It was disappointing to hear, but not surprising. It had been a few years since Fincher had made a feature film. Let him go scratch that itch, and he’d be back. He went on to make Mank, which, unsurprisingly, won a few Academy Awards and earned Fincher yet another Best Director nomination. Later in the year, when being interviewed by Vulture, Fincher was asked if Mindhunter was over, and he replied, “I think probably.”
“Listen, for the viewership that it had, it was an expensive show. We talked about ‘Finish Mank and then see how you feel,’ but I honestly don’t think we’re going to be able to do it for less than I did Season 2. And on some level, you have to be realistic about dollars have to equal eyeballs.”
Oof. That hurt. For anyone hoping the show would soon return, that seemed to be the clearest answer that it wasn’t coming back, except then a Netflix rep also had to tell Vulture, “Maybe in five years.” Dang you, Netflix. You make it impossible to let go! A few months later, in an interview with Variety, Fincher was again asked about Mindhunter, and he gave a similar answer: “I don’t know if it makes sense to continue,” he said. “It was an expensive show. It had a very passionate audience, but we never got the numbers that justified the cost.”
It’s Time To Give Up on Any Hope for More ‘Mindhunter’
That seemed to seal the series’ fate. Mindhunter cost too much money and not enough people watched, so Netflix pulled it. As much as it sucked, what could you do? Some things just aren’t meant to be, no matter how much you love them. Then, in what had to have been an attempt to one-up that Netflix rep, Fincher added, “At some point, I’d love to revisit it. The hope was to get all the way up to the late 90s, early 2000s, hopefully, get all the way up to people knocking on the door at Dennis Rader’s house.” Once again, fans were fed a bit of hope and then left hanging, like someone who’s been dumped in a relationship, only for the ex to keep popping up and telling you there’s a chance at getting back together. The hope continued to grow when, in 2021, Fincher signed an exclusive four-year deal with Netflix. Maybe, just maybe, that meant the series would return eventually. Spoiler alert: It didn’t.
While we waited, creator Joe Penhall and the cast moved on to other things. Series lead Jonathan Groff had a big role in 2021’s The Matrix Resurrections. While promoting the film in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he was asked about the status of Mindhunter:
“To me, Mindhunter is Fincher. The whole experience for me was the honor and privilege of getting to work with him. So I’m not a sports person really at all, but it’s like the [1997-1998] Chicago Bulls. Do you go for another season with the team? Or do you just do what the general manager says? But if the general manager believes that it should stop, you have to go with the general manager. And this is how I feel with David. The minute he says he wants to do another one, I’ll be there in a second. But I trust his vision and his instincts, and so I leave it always in his hands, as ever.”
At this point, it had been almost two years since Season 2 of Mindhunter. While Groff’s comment about being there to do another season in a second was enticing to hold on to, it also wasn’t feasible. Fincher had moved on, returning to feature films. The cast had moved on, too. Groff was also one of the leads in Knock at the Cabin, and Anna Torv appeared in the first season of The Last of Us. On paper, it seems easy to bring the show back. Well, everyone sounds like they still want to do it, so why not? Netflix surely has enough money. Look at how much money they spend on other shows just to cancel them. On top of that, look how popular true crime is now! Netflix is like a murder documentary assembly line. It’s not that easy, sadly. Resurrecting Mindhunter is not like making a movie. In terms of runtime, it’s like making three or four feature films back-to-back, which is a commitment that’s hard to live up to years later.
‘Mindhunter’ Is Over, It’s Time To Watch Other TV Shows
In an interview with the French outlet Le Journal du Dimanche in 2023, Fincher was, of course, once again asked about the status of Mindhunter. “I’m very proud of the first two seasons,” he said, before repeating:
“But it’s a very expensive show and, in the eyes of Netflix, we didn’t attract enough of an audience to justify such an investment [for Season 3]. They took risks to get the show off the ground, gave me the means to do Mank the way I wanted to do it, and they allowed me to venture down new paths with The Killer. It’s a blessing to be able to work with people who are capable of boldness.”
That sounds like acceptance for Fincher. He did his best, but his relationship with the series is over, and he’s ready to move on. That means you, too, interviewers. Please, for the love of God, quit asking the man about Mindhunter in every interview he does. It’s getting to be absurd and makes it impossible to move on when we’re so often reminded of the one who got away.
That also means fans need to finally move on as well. There are other fish in the sea. For some, however, there’s just no escaping the hold that Mindhunter has on them. While there have been other petitions to bring back the show (along with several other shows), one petition to bring the show back received over 80,000 signatures, with a heartfelt plea from fans begging for a Seson 3, even without the involvement of Fincher. Unfortunately, despite the determination of the fans, it seems that Mindhunter‘s fate is sealed. It’s not coming back, it’s been over five years since that Netflix rep gave us some empty promises. It’s time to move on.

Bill Maher Reveals Reason He’d Vote for a Republican POTUS
Proud Democrat Bill Maher is revealing the reason he’d cross the political divide and vote for a Republican for president.
“If this is where the Democratic party is going… this obsession with Israel, with the Jew-hating, with they don’t believe in capitalism, no prisons, if this is where they’re going, my vote is in play,” Maher, 70, told Vice President JD Vance on the Friday, June 26, episode of his HBO Max show Real Time with Bill Maher.
“It’s either going to be you or Rubio,” the comedian continued, referring to former senator Marco Rubio, who memorably — and somewhat viciously — ran against President Trump in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election but who now serves as secretary of state under Trump’s second administration.
Maher’s claims about the so-called direction of the Democratic party come after a slew of wins for politicians running as Democratic Socialists, including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and newly-elected members of Congress Claire Valdez, Darializa Avila Chevalier, Aber Kawas and Brad Lander.
“Here’s my dealbreaker for your side,” Mayer continued to Vance, 41, before describing the reason why a Republican candidate would not — could not — secure his vote. “Under Trump, you guys have two outcomes that an election can be, either we win or they cheated. That s*** has to stop. And that means the person who has to stop it will be you, or Marco. Can you tell me you will do that?”

Trump has repeatedly claimed that he won the 2020 presidential election against former President Joe Biden despite losing the popular and electoral votes. The president and other high-level administration officials have claimed the election was “rigged” despite failing to provide a shred of evidence proving election fraud.
Instead of promising to stop lying about potential election outcomes, Vance doubled down on election fraud conspiracy theories, which have become popular among MAGA Republicans and conservatives. (According to one CNN poll, nearly 70 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters believe the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and Biden’s win was not legitimate.)
“OK, Bill, so this is where I’m probably going to lose ya there,” Vance responded. “I don’t think we should not concede elections, but I don’t think that’s what’s going on … The biggest criticism I had of the 2020 election is that you had technology companies that were quite literally censoring negative information about the left and promoting negative information about the right.” (According to Media Matters, a progressive research center that monitors right-wing online content, engagement data from that time period shows that Facebook and other social media platforms promoted right-leaning content more than left-leaning content.)
“Well, you’re going to get a big pat on the back when you go back to the White House,” Maher retorted.

Zohran Mamdani Addresses Swift, Kelce MSG Wedding Rumors
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing the pervasive rumor that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are getting married at the iconic Madison Square Garden head on — well, sorta.
“You know, what I am here to say is that whoever is getting married in New York City, I think it’s hard to beat the City Clerk’s Office but many will try and soon there will be more news,” Mamdani, 34, told ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl in a preview clip of an upcoming interview for ABC’s This Week shared on Saturday, June 27.
“Is somebody getting married at Madison Square Garden on July 3rd?” Karl persisted. “Somebody famous?”
After Swift, 36, and Kelce, also 36, got engaged in August 2025, rumors have swirled regarding their impending nuptials — everything from who has received an invite to the wedding venue to the date and time.
Recently, new clues have emerged to support the claim that the pair plan to say “I do” at Madison Square Garden. The New York Times reported on Wednesday, June 24, that a permit was filed with New York City to close the streets around the venue from July 2 to midday July 4 for an event on July 3, according to three people who have knowledge of the matter.

“Are you hearing that?” Mamdani replied to Karl, refusing to answer the question at all. “I think they’re calling me now.”
A source exclusively told Us Weekly on Saturday that not even the wedding guests know exactly where the pair’s star-studded nuptials will take place.
“Taylor and Travis told guests to be in NYC,” the insider explained. “No other location was provided.” All the guests know, according to the source, is that invitees need to be in New York City on Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3.
“They’re putting their guests on hold for a couple days,” the source added. “They are spending a lot of money — in the millions.”
Another source has confirmed to Us that the pair’s nuptials will, in fact, take place inside Madison Square Garden.
Other insiders have shared exclusive details regarding the pair’s wedding planning, noting that they initially wanted to say “I do” in Rhode Island but had to pivot due to safety concerns.
“Taylor and Travis really wanted their wedding in Rhode Island, and June 13 was the date, but security wouldn’t have worked because it could get out of hand with that kind of scale of an event,” an insider revealed on Saturday. “Ocean House [in Westerly] was planned at one point, and then plans changed to New York.”
The source added, “Rhode Island wasn’t great because the nature of the access and the perimeters were too difficult to secure. So the main issue with Rhode Island ended up being security.”

Harry Styles Chokes on Water, Collapses in Viral Video
Harry Styles fans were concerned for the singer’s health after viral video footage appeared to show him choking on water and collapsing onstage in London.
The “Aperture” singer, 32, performed at Wembley Stadium in London on Friday, June 26, as part of his Together, Together Tour, but appeared to struggle towards the end of the set as he delighted fans with his signature water-spouting routine.
Viral footage captured a moment where Styles seemingly choked on some water while wrapping up show-closer “As It Was.” The former One Direction band member then fell to the ground and heaved multiple times while appearing to try to catch his breath.
Styles was on the ground for nearly 20 seconds — during which time he loosened his tie and patted his chest — before he pulled himself back up and ran around the stage to finish the performance. The TikTok footage showed the back of Styles’ blue shirt drenched with sweat as he finished the concert.
Us Weekly has reached out to Styles’ representative for comment on the incident.
Fans showed concern as the video quickly went viral, with many sending well-wishes for Styles in comments on the viral video.
“How come no one came and checked on him???” one viewer asked, while another pointed out, “Water went down the wrong pipe. He’s a performer and knew to lie down and cough for theatrics instead of awkwardly standing and coughing. He’s a pro. Love him. Glad he’s ok.”
“Oh that man was DYING in the heat,” a third theorized.

Despite the incident on Friday, Styles was scheduled to perform at Wembley Stadium once again on Saturday, June 27.
The outdoor show at Wembley Stadium came in the middle of a week where the Met Office, Britain’s national meteorological service, offered repeated extreme heat warnings. On Thursday, June 26, Met Office Chief Meteorologist Andy Page issued a “Red Warning” for London and much of the southeastern U.K., among other areas.
“This exceptional spell of hot and humid weather will maintain its grip on the UK for a little longer,” Page warned on Thursday. “Although the current red warning for areas in more central and western parts of England and Wales will expire later today, the heatwave will still be bringing high temperatures to these areas, albeit moving away from the peak heat of Wednesday and Thursday.”
Page went on, “We are expecting that some daytime maximum temperatures could exceed 36°C (96.8°F), perhaps rising to 37°C (98.6°F) in some locations.”
Styles is in the middle of his Together, Together concert tour, which will see him perform limited residencies across four continents. He debuted the tour at Wembley Stadium on June 12 and will continue at the historic venue through Saturday, July 4. (Shania Twain has served as the opening act for the London shows.)
The musician will next hit São Paulo and Mexico City for shows in July and August before kicking off a 30-date run at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on August 26. (The MSG shows, which feature support from Jamie xx, will be Styles’ only U.S. dates on the tour.)
In May, Us Weekly learned that Styles opted for a series of residencies in select cities to avoid the stress and “burnout” that comes with a world tour.
“Harry approached this project and tour very mindfully,” a source exclusively told Us. “By doing multi-night residencies, there is less travel and less burnout.”
An insider added, “For Harry, the past couple of years have been about slowing down, stepping back and finding peace. He really treasured that time and the sense of privacy and normalcy. He is coming into this tour knowing what works for him. He is incredibly emotionally mature and is constantly working on himself.”
Away from the stage, it was reported that Styles and longtime partner Zoë Kravitz recently got engaged after eight months of dating. The couple fueled engagement speculation when Kravitz, 37, was photographed in April with a large diamond ring on her hand during a coffee date with Styles.

Why Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Aren’t Having Rhode Island Wedding
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce initially had their sights set on a marvelous coastal wedding, multiple sources exclusively tell Us Weekly.
“Taylor and Travis really wanted their wedding in Rhode Island, and June 13 was the date, but security wouldn’t have worked because it could get out of hand with that kind of scale of an event,” an insider says.
Though everything was initially being planned in Rhode Island — where Swift, 36, has a mansion in the lavish Watch Hill neighborhood of Westerly — the insider notes the pop star had booked multiple venues from coast to coast on different dates.
According to the source, “Ocean House [in Westerly] was planned at one point, and then plans changed to New York.”
The insider tells Us that Swift’s security “had to assess all the venues to see what made sense.”
“Rhode Island wasn’t great because the nature of the access and the perimeters were too difficult to secure,” the source explains. “So the main issue with Rhode Island ended up being security.”

“Everything was being planned in Rhode Island,” added a source. “And so many people wanted to come that plans had to change because it became bigger.”
Swift and Kelce, 36, are now rumored to be tying the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York City over the July 4 holiday weekend. While the exact location and date of the nuptials have not yet been confirmed, NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to hint at the wedding taking place in the city during a June 15 press conference earlier this month.
“I am fully confident in the work of the NYPD, as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience,” he told reporters. “We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for the [World Cup]. We know it coincides with the Knicks’ [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time — and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”
Additionally, a permit was filed with NYC in June, the mayor’s spokesperson Dora Pekec confirmed to Us after The New York Times reported on a permit to close the streets surrounding MSG from July 2 to midday July 4 for an event on July 3.
City sources also confirmed to Us that the Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO), which issues the permits, is in touch with the NYPD regarding a possible influx of street and pedestrian traffic.
Though Swift and Kelce’s Rhode Island wedding plans fell through, the “I Knew It, I Knew You” singer’s Watch Hill mansion had an uptick in action last week when security was spotted swarming the area. A group of unidentified women were reportedly seen on the balcony wearing matching robes — three in black and one in white — sparking speculation about a bachelorette party.
A woman who appeared to be Swift’s childhood friend Abigail Anderson Berard was also seen on the property with her 2-year-old son.
Meanwhile, Travis celebrated what was perceived as his bachelor party in Los Angeles and San Diego. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his brother, Jason Kelce, as well as Travis’ teammate Patrick Mahomes and others, were spotted at a Chris Lake concert, a Dave Chappelle comedy show, a night out at the members-only Bird Street Club and more.
Swift and Kelce began dating in the summer of 2023 and got engaged in August 2025.

Why Katy Perry Cancelled Werchter Boutique Festival Set
Katy Perry has announced that her set at the Werchter Boutique festival in Belgium has been cancelled — and she wasn’t the one to make the difficult decision.
“Sadly my set @WerchterBoutique tonight can’t happen due to a government mandated cancellation because of the incoming inclement weather and crowd safety concerns,” the singer, 41, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, June 27, announcing that the show, unfortunately, would not go on.
“I was backstage at the show in the middle of hair and makeup when this news was delivered, and they gave me no choice. I am just as unhappy as you are,” she continued. “Unfortunately this is beyond my control. But the safety of all 55,000 of you always comes first and foremost.”
Perry was set to perform in Werchter, Belgium, just hours before the show was cancelled. Other artists featured on the festival’s lineup include Pitbull, Mika, Pommelien Thijs, James Arthur, Roxy Dekker and Emmy d’Arc.
“I am sorry I can’t change the weather, and even sorrier that all of us can’t be together tonight,” Perry concluded on Saturday, alongside a photo of the singer smoking outside wearing a robe, headphones, comfy pajama pants and flip flops. “I was looking forward to benign back after 17 years, I was even gonna wear the same outfit from that 2009 show again. I love you all, and please get home safe.”
Perry also shared a statement from the festival itself, announcing that her set was cancelled and the festivities would end after Pitbull’s performance.
“Following consultation with the Rock Werchter Safety Committee, in which all authorities and the organization are represented, it has been decided that the Werchter Boutique will end at 9pm this evening,” the statement read in part. “This decision was taken in response to the weather forecast, which predicts severe thunderstorms from midnight onwards at the earliest. The governor of Flemish Brabant has also issued a be-alert in this regard.”
The statement continued, “The festival will end after Pitbull’s performance. Katy Perry’s concert will not go ahead. By bringing the festival to a close early, we can ensure that the exit of visitors will proceed in a safe and orderly manner, allowing everyone to return home calmly. The safety and health of everyone present is always our top priority.”
The cancellation comes days after Perry released her latest single “Watch It Burn” on Thursday, June 25, which serves as the sister song to her November 2025 track “Bandaids.”
The song explores the replacement of years of restraint, people-pleasing and silence with the truth, using anger as a vehicle for honesty.
“Said I was too hard to love … For years/ I tried to rise above/ Was only light and love/ But now I’m shut the f*** up,” Perry sings, later adding, “Don’t wanna cause a scene/ But give me the gasoline/ Tonight’s the night/ I light a match/ Throw it hard behind my back/ Gonna try to forgive and forget/ Light a cigarette/ And watch it burn.”

Chloe Bailey Says Halle Proved Ariel Critics Wrong
Chloe Bailey has revealed how she felt when her sister, Halle Bailey, received intense criticism over her role in the live-action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid.”
Halle starred as Ariel, but when the film was released, many people were divided over her casting. Much of the criticism came in the form of racist comments, as some objected to the character being portrayed by a Black actress.
The live-action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” was one of the most anticipated films of 2023. However, its release was overshadowed by intense criticism from some viewers over Halle Bailey’s casting as Ariel.
For Chloe, the other half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle, watching the controversy play out was emotionally difficult.
“It broke my heart,” the singer said in a sit-down with Variety.
She added, “Seeing her put so much hard work and time into an iconic role, I just wanted people to see how incredible she was in it, because this was all happening before the movie even came out. But my sister is resilient, and I’m happy she proved all the naysayers wrong.”
Chloe Says Beyoncé Shaped Her From Childhood

Chloe and Halle first gained major attention in the entertainment industry after posting a cover of Beyoncé’s “Pretty Hurts” in 2013, which caught the superstar’s attention. Beyoncé later signed the sisters to her company, Parkwood Entertainment.
However, Chloe’s connection with the iconic singer began years earlier, when she met her on the set of “The Fighting Temptations,” an encounter that left a lasting impression.
“I have always been the biggest Beyoncé fan since I was a little girl. Meeting her when I was four, and how kind she was to me on the set, only sparked a greater love for her. She had such a pure spirit that my four-year-old self clung to,” she revealed.

More than a decade after being signed by Beyoncé, Chloe remains grateful for the singer’s mentorship.
Looking back over the years, she said she appreciates how much the music icon’s presence has shaped and impacted her life and career.
“Being able to study her performances and being a true BeyHive fan and then being able to be signed to her and actually have intellectual conversations with her about life, the industry, and music is something I’ve never taken for granted. I really appreciate her ear,” Chloe noted.
To this day, she still holds onto advice she received from Beyoncé, which focused on handling the noise of the internet.
“One of the first pieces of advice she gave us was the ’no scroll’ rule: don’t read the comments, don’t read what people are saying, and don’t even let it fill your head up,” the “Have Mercy” singer said.
Chloe Credits Bond With Halle For Industry Success

As for her and her sister’s success in the entertainment industry, Chloe believes their close bond played a major role.
“We had each other. We were never going through anything alone. We would act together, sing together, and were each other’s best friends,” she said.
According to the singer, having someone to lean on who fully understood what she was going through was a “saving grace,” one she remains grateful for, even as they now appear to be pursuing solo career paths.
“I’m grateful that we had each other growing up in this industry. You know how they say to never walk down the street by yourself and always have a friend with you? It was almost like that,” Chloe also noted.
Chloe Bailey Teases Future Music With Halle
Chloe and Halle’s most recent musical collaboration is the track “so i can feel again,” released on October 24, 2025, as part of Halle’s debut solo album, “love?… or something like it.”
Before that, their last joint project was in June 2020 on their sophomore studio album, “Ungodly Hour,” after which they took a hiatus from performing as a duo.
Speaking about the group, Chloe clarified that they have not split and still plan to release music together.
“The band never broke up! We just had different endeavors happening at different times,” Chloe said.
“We’ve both been strengthening who we are as individuals, so when the music comes back as a duo it’ll be even better. We’ve strengthened the two halves of the heart,” she added.

Sci-Fi Survival Series Was An Early Victim Of Netflix And Now My Mom Won’t Forgive Them
By Jonathan Klotz
| Published

It’s common knowledge that Netflix will pull the plug on shows the moment the almighty algorithm says they’ll make more money by cutting ties now. The most recent victim of this sudden cancellation habit was The Boroughs, a sci-fi mystery series about residents of a retirement community. 10 years ago, Netflix cancelled Between, another sci-fi mystery series about the residents of Pretty Lake after everyone over the age of 22 was killed by a virus. I never knew Between existed until my mother was talking about it, looked up if Netflix canceled it early, found out it ends on a cliffhanger, and immediately became annoyed with the world’s largest streaming service.
Between Was Cut Short By Netflix

My mom thinks when Netflix cancels a show, whether it’s The Boroughs, Between, 1899, Santa Clarita Diet, or even Mindhunter, the streamer should have a notice on the show’s landing page that it’s incomplete. Let the audience know that the show ends on a cliffhanger and never gets to the proverbial fireworks factory. It should be a scarlet letter of shame for the streamer when they pull the plug before a show finds an audience.
That said, Between was never going to be a hit on the level of Stranger Things or You, two shows that the streamer allowed to reach an ending. Between follows the kids of Pretty Lake after a virus kills everyone over 22 and they are trapped in a quarantine zone. It’s Under the Dome if it was a Canadian CW show, and the only highlight is Jeanette McCurdy as pregnant teen Wiley. It’s not a great show, but there’s also been a lot worse in the ensuing decade, and I can’t help but think it was a few years too early.

Between was able to air two seasons of six episodes each, and while it technically was never canceled, it was dropped after the Season 2 finale in 2016 without anything as simple as a press release. If nothing else, it was a small hit in Canada, pulling in over 3 million viewers on average during its run on Canadian TV. There’s shows airing now on broadcast television that would kill to reach 3 million viewers, heck, that’s more than the average CW show pulled in and those aired forever.
Netflix Saves Some And Cancels Others

Ironically, Netflix found a gold mine when it saved shows from the networks instead of cancelling them. Another sci-fi mystery series, Manifest, was saved from NBC after it topped the Netflix streaming charts. Deservedly so, as the show about a plane that vanishes for five and a half years, but no one on flight noticed the team pass, is one of the best sci-fi shows of the decade. Lucifer was canceled by Fox after three seasons, until Netflix saved it and let it run for three more.
Some shows take awhile to find an audience. The Office, Parks and Recreation, Breaking Bad, Manifest, all of them stumbled when they first aired before either ironing out the kinks for the two former, and hitting streaming for the two latter. Between may have never been a huge hit, but in the age of TikTok, a teen-focused sci-fi survival series has the potential to catch on. Netflix’s lack of patience means we’ll never know, and let’s be honest, we’d all love to know before starting a series if it has a proper ending or not. Netflix, my mom is right, get on that.

If thinning hair has you relying on strategic parting, volumizing sprays and a little wishful thinking, there’s a quick fix beauty shoppers have been swearing by for years. The cult-favorite Toppik Hair Building Fibers instantly create the appearance of fuller, thicker hair by concealing sparse areas and bald patches in seconds.
Made from natural keratin protein, the same protein found in your hair, Toppik Hair Building Fibers are designed to blend seamlessly with existing strands for natural-looking coverage. Here’s how it works: the tiny fibers carry a static charge that helps them cling to individual hairs, creating the illusion of density and volume wherever hair appears thin. Unlike powders or root touch-up sprays that can sometimes look flat or obvious, these fibers mimic the look of real hair, making them a favorite among those dealing with thinning at the crown, temples, hairline or part.
Get the Toppik Hair Building Fibers for $25 at Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.
To use, start with clean, dry, styled hair, then gently shake the fibers over any areas where the scalp is visible. As the fibers attach to your strands, you’ll notice sparse spots begin to look fuller almost instantly. Once you’ve achieved your desired coverage, lightly pat the area to distribute the fibers evenly, then finish with hairspray for extra staying power. The result? Natural-looking fullness that can withstand wind, sweat and everyday activities.
One Amazon reviewer who called it a “life saver” said: “Best invention ever for women’s hair loss or hair thinning. It’s basically hair makeup for bald patches & thickener for thinning hair. Never leave the house without it on.”
If you’ve been searching for a fast, affordable way to make thinning hair look fuller, this is it. Add the Toppik Hair Building Fibers to your cart now!

Fans Defend Rosie O’Donnell Over Whitney Houston Support
Rosie O’Donnell is getting candid about her past relationship with the late Whitney Houston. Speaking with Andy Cohen on an episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” the former “The View” co-host said that she once tried to intervene when she believed Houston was headed down the wrong path and claimed she was met with a bit of resistance.
O’Donnell’s comments about Whitney Houston came around the same time talk show host Oprah received backlash from the public after claiming that the “I Will Always Love You” singer fell off her “Oprah” soundstage in the early 2000s due to being high on drugs.
“I’m the kind of friend that always tells a friend when I think they’re in trouble, which doesn’t always make the friendships last,” O’Donnell told the “Real Housewives” executive producer on a recent episode of “WWHL.”
As the conversation continued, O’Donnell said she became worried about Houston when the singer reportedly missed the screening of a “Cinderella” program she produced, which O’Donnell called “a big deal.”
“I remember thinking this is like the beginning of the end and somebody needs to help her now,” O’Donnell said. “Everybody gets lost in their life, and when you’re in the public eye, you get lost very nationally…but we can’t pretend we don’t see what we see.”
And while some were appreciative of O’Donnell’s care and concern, the media personality said that some members of her team told her to mind her own business. “As someone who cares about her and who loves her and wants her legacy to remain, I just wanted to let you know that this is doing her a disservice,” she said.
Fans Back O’Donnell For Attempting To Save Houston

Houston fans responded to O’Donnell’s statements, praising the 64-year-old for having her friend’s back when she needed it most.
“A real friend always tells the truth, even when that truth may be hard to hear,” someone wrote, while another said, “Rosie sounds like she is a truly nice, kind, caring person. Love her even more.”
Other users chimed in, posting, “She may not have always been super close to Whitney, but what she did was the mark of a TRUE friend. Love Whitney, love Rosie.”
A fourth wrote, “She was tearing up when talking about Whitney. Everyone deserves a friend like Rosie.”
Oprah Faces Backlash After Saying Whitney Houston Was On Drugs During 2009 Talk Show Appearance

According to a previous report from The Blast, Oprah recently received a strong rebuke from the public after she spoke about Houston and her alleged 2009 drug use during a Cannes Lions appearance.
“The first interview I did with her when we’d gone behind stage and I asked her about her intention, she was clean, but the day she came to my show then to perform in front of the audience, she was not, and she fell off of the stage,” the “Color Purple” actress claimed.
She went on to say that she then “begged” her studio audience to keep quiet about the situation, and another person claimed that the TV personality even threatened to fire her staff if the rumors got out.
One user on Instagram clapped back at Oprah, saying, “I feel like we could respect her memory better than talking about this publicly a decade plus after she passed,” while another user wrote, “Oh, wow, and you thought this was a perfect time to mention this?”
Whitney Houston’s Estate Fires Back At Oprah’s Claims, Saying The Singer Was ‘Not High’ During Her Appearance
Houston’s estate manager, Pat Houston, wasted no time firing back at Oprah, denying her claims that the singer fell due to being high on drugs.
While Houston’s estate confirmed that she did fall, they said her stumble was due to her unfamiliarity with the stage rather than her being intoxicated.
Before Houston’s sudden death in 2012, the singer dealt with addiction struggles, a fact her estate confirmed in their statement.
“Like many people, she faced personal battles, but it is inaccurate and unfair to attach that struggle to every performance or every chapter of her life,” the statement read. “What the studio audience witnessed on stage was the result of discipline, talent, and commitment—not the assumptions others project.”
Houston’s Hairstylist Also Slammed Oprah For Allegedly Lying About Mishap

In addition to Houston’s estate, her personal hairstylist, Tiffanie Dixon, also defended the singer against claims that she was high during her appearance on the “Oprah” show.
“It’s not true. She fell because they did not rope off the stage… I was standing right there,” Dixon said.
She revealed that Oprah’s comments about her former client “disturbed” her, prompting her to tell the world that the renowned talk show host was allegedly lying. “There’s no truth and no validity… It’s a lie… She’s got a lot of nerve,” she added.
