The singer’s appearance was not the only thing making headlines during the surprise Times Square performance. Madonna also sparked concern after a risky moment onstage saw her swing one leg over a protective railing while performing several stories above the crowd.

In footage captured during the livestream, the singer appeared partially suspended over the edge of the elevated stage, prompting worried reactions online. Fortunately, Madonna appeared completely unfazed by the nerve-wracking moment and continued her set without issue.

She Debuted New Music From ‘Confessions II’

Despite the online chatter, Madonna’s surprise appearance also served as a preview of her upcoming album, “Confessions II.” Her setlist included tracks such as “Bring Your Love,” “I Feel So Free,” “Love Sensation,” “Get Together,” “Hung Up,” and “I Love New York.”

She was joined onstage by longtime collaborator Stuart Price, who previously worked with the singer on her 2005 album “Confessions on a Dance Floor” and is now producing “Confessions II.” The highly anticipated project is slated for release on July 3.

But that’s not all. Madonna is also gearing up for another major release tied to “Confessions II.” The pop icon recently announced that “Confessions II – The Film” will officially premiere on YouTube on June 8 at 11 a.m. ET, giving fans a visual companion to her upcoming album.

The Pride performance is not the first time Madonna has made headlines this month. Earlier this week, the pop icon kicked off Pride Month with a daring Instagram video that quickly caught fans’ attention. In the clip, Madonna appeared smoking and crawling across the floor while wearing a revealing outfit that showed off plenty of cleavage.

At one point in the video, the singer suffered a wardrobe malfunction and appeared to experience a n-p slip, which she later censored with a black bar to comply with Instagram’s content guidelines. “You know what, see a f-cking b–b,” Madonna said in the clip before leaning toward the camera to blow a kiss.

Based on Ted Chiang’s short story “Story of Your Life,” the film follows a linguist who is recruited by the military after mysterious alien spacecraft appear around the world, and they desperately want to know what on Earth — quite literally — it is that they want.

The cast includes Amy Adams (Enchanted) as Louise Banks, Jeremy Renner (Mayor of Kingstown) as Ian Donnelly, Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) as Colonel Weber, Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man) as Agent Halpern, and Tzi Ma (The Farewell) as General Shang. The film is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Dune), while the score by Jóhann Jóhannsson gives the movie an eerie sadness that lingers long after the credits.

Was ‘Arrival’ a Success?

Financially, the movie was a real success, especially considering it wasn’t a broad sci-fi thriller like many perhaps thought it would be but rather a thoughtful drama that just happened to be sci-fi. It grossed about $100.5 million domestically and $203.4 million worldwide against a reported $47 million budget, and it also opened solidly with $24.1 million in North America, which, again, was a really positive surprise.

Critically, it was a huge win too, but given how good Villeneuve is, this isn’t a surprise. Rotten Tomatoes called it “a refreshingly thoughtful take on first contact,” and the film earned eight Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director for Villeneuve, and Best Adapted Screenplay, winning Best Sound Editing. Adams was also widely praised, even though her Oscar snub remains one of those “are you actually kidding?” awards-season moments.

2026 has been a busy year for Taylor Sheridan already, but that comes as no surprise to those who have been following his career for the last few years. Sheridan started the year strong with a new Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, which shows what Kayce Dutton (played by Luke Grimes) is doing now that he’s left ranch life behind. Sheridan follows the first season of Marshals with a brand-new contemporary Western, The Madison, which features a pair of big stars such as Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer. Sheridan recently returned to the Yellowstone universe for a much darker spin-off, Dutton Ranch, which follows Rip (played by Cole Hauser) and Beth (played by Kelly Reilly) after the events of the series finale. Another Sheridan-created show that’s quietly awaiting a comeback is Tulsa King, the hit crime saga starring and produced by Sylvester Stallone. Stallone confirmed a few months ago that filming for Tulsa King Season 4 had wrapped, and that the show was at the end of the editing and post-production phase. While Paramount has yet to set an official return date for Tulsa King Season 4, it has been confirmed that it will premiere before the end of the year. While fans anxiously await the arrival of more Tulsa King episodes, they’re rewatching the series on repeat, which has led it back into the Paramount Plus top 10 in more than 15 countries at the time of writing. Tulsa King is even outperforming a few other popular Sheridan titles, like Landman and Mayor of Kingstown.

What Is ‘Tulsa King’ About?

The official synopsis for Tulsa King, which also stars Garrett Hedlund and Frank Grillo, reads as follows:

Tulsa King is also the perfect watch for MobLand fans, as both shows have heavy overarching themes of organized crime.

Everybody remembers the legacy of MacGyver. Swiss Army knives, duct tape, household objects being transformed into things household objects were never meant to become…the show practically invented that method. What gets forgotten is that Angus MacGyver wasn’t solving problems because he enjoyed building gadgets. He was solving them because he’d rather spend ten minutes figuring something out than ten milliseconds pulling a trigger.

MacGyver Was the Anti-Action Hero of the 1980s

The setup was delightfully straightforward: MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson) worked for the Phoenix Foundation — a government think tank housing an intelligence agency — and had a remarkable talent for showing up exactly where things were going wrong. One week, it was terrorists. The next week, it was spies. After that, it was kidnappers, criminals, or somebody whose terrible decision-making had spiraled completely out of control. Most television heroes would’ve solved those problems with bullets, but MacGyver usually solved them by staring at a pile of random objects until an idea appeared.

The concept probably shouldn’t work as well as it does. A man solving international crises with household objects sounds like the setup for a joke. The reason it works is Anderson. He never plays MacGyver like a genius, showing off. He plays him like a practical guy who’s slightly baffled that nobody else has noticed the obvious solution yet.

The contrast was especially noticeable in the 1980s. Television action heroes were getting louder, tougher, and increasingly more explosive. Every year, they seemed determined to add bigger weapons and larger body counts. Then there was MacGyver, wandering into danger looking like somebody’s approachable science teacher and somehow leaving with fewer casualties than everybody else.

That’s the part that feels surprisingly rebellious now. Modern action heroes often spend half their screen time processing trauma and the other half launching opponents through walls. MacGyver approached most crises the way ordinary people approach assembling furniture. It might be frustrating. It might take longer than expected. But surely there was a solution that didn’t involve setting everything on fire.

MacGyver’s Intelligence Still Feels Refreshing Today

The gadgets were never really the point. They were a visual representation of how MacGyver viewed the world. Every problem had a solution. Every situation deserved a closer look. Every locked door, broken machine, hostage crisis, or dangerous confrontation could potentially be solved with observation, patience, and a little creativity. That philosophy gives the series an unusual warmth. Even when episodes become ridiculous, and some absolutely do, the show remains rooted in the belief that intelligence is useful. Not intelligence as arrogance. Intelligence as curiosity.

MacGyver succeeds because he notices things, asks questions, and understands how systems work. Then he uses that knowledge to help people. Watching the series now, it’s striking how little that approach has aged. Some of the hairstyles absolutely belong in a museum. Some of the technology looks like it should be displayed beside a fax machine and a stack of floppy disks. Yet the central idea remains surprisingly durable. The world does not need another hero looking for an excuse to pull a trigger, and that’s what makes him one of the best action heroes.

That’s why MacGyver still works forty years later. Not because of the Swiss Army knife or homemade inventions. Not only because Richard Dean Anderson remains endlessly likable, the show endures because it built an action hero around intelligence instead of violence. In an era when so many protagonists solve every problem by hitting it harder, watching somebody use his brain as Plan A still feels like a novelty. And somehow, decades later, that’s what makes MacGyver feel ahead of its time.

Zendaya‘s “Euphoria” character Rue was not originally meant to meet the tragic fate seen in the Season 3 finale, according to show creator Sam Levinson.

Amid debate over several controversial scenes, Levinson has also defended the dark destiny of multiple characters this season.

Although nothing has been officially confirmed, Season 3 appears to mark the end of the hit HBO series, not only because of the deaths of several lead characters, but also due to reports of strained relationships among the cast.

Fans witnessed Zendaya’s character, Rue Bennett, face a devastating turn in the “Euphoria” Season 3 finale after unknowingly taking painkillers laced with fentanyl.

However, Levinson has revealed in a new interview with The New York Times that this was not always the plan.

According to him, Rue was originally mapped out for an entirely different trajectory, but the real-life death of fellow actor Angus Cloud forced him to change the narrative.

“I had originally written a different trajectory for the character of Rue. During the writers’ strike, we got the news that Angus passed away,” he said, referring to the 2023 overdose death of Cloud, who played soft-hearted drug dealer Fezco in the series.

“I’d always been really concerned about the prevalence of fentanyl. It’s something that we’ve dealt with over the seasons and even in my first film [Another Happy Day],” he continued. “But once he passed away, I had to reconceive the script, and I thought, ‘you can’t tell a story about addiction today without the very real consequences.’”

Sam Levinson Defends Rue’s Tragic Fate

Like Rue, the Coroner’s Office confirmed that Cloud’s death was accidental and caused by acute intoxication due to the combined effects of multiple substances.

Levinson said the change to Rue’s fate felt like the “responsible thing to do,” as it highlighted the dangers of drug addiction.

He said, “Most people don’t get a second chance. Fentanyl can just take you out in an instant. It wasn’t like when I was growing up; you could literally take pills off the street, and you might have a bad trip or something, but you’d be fine.”

“This is something that hits close to home for a lot of people in this country. So, it felt like the responsible thing to do,” he added.

Levinson Also Defended Nate’s Brutal Ending

Rue’s death was not the only character exit Levinson had to defend in the finale, as he also spoke about Nate Jacobs’ “horrific” death.

Nate, who was deep in debt, was pursued by loan sharks who kidnapped him while trying to recover money from his wife, Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney.

In an episode titled “Rain or Shine,” Cassie and her friend Maddy scrambled to raise the money and even enlisted the help of crime boss Alamo in their search for him.

By the time they discovered where Nate had been taken, it was already too late.

“There’s this kind of funny thing where I know what the audience wants in terms of justice or karma, and with that in mind, I always think, ‘Well, how can I give it to them?’” Levinson told Esquire. “How can I give them what they want, but make it so horrific and anxiety-inducing that by the time it happens, the audience isn’t so sure they wanted it?”

Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie Storyline Divided Fans

All season long, “Euphoria” came under fire from fans over several risqué scenes involving Sweeney’s character after Cassie became an OnlyFans creator.

Some viewers felt the scenes went too far and accused the show of leaning heavily into shock value.

However, Sweeney seemingly hit back at critics in a recent Instagram post, where she shared photos from behind the scenes.

“It’s called… acting,” she wrote in the caption in a seemingly pointed message to critics.

Sam Levinson Says Sweeney Was ‘Fearless’

Levinson also praised Sweeney’s work on the series after fans accused him of subjecting her to a “humiliation ritual.”

During a recent appearance on The New York Times’ “Popcast” podcast, he praised the actress for how boldly she approached the controversial scenes throughout the season.

“I think she’s a totally fearless actor. She’s also just wonderfully professional, and shows up just game every day,” he said. “I adore working with her, because there’s such a flexibility in terms of the performance.”

“I don’t know if I handled things in a bad way,” she said. “I think I did, and I wish that I could do it again and maybe do something better.”

According to Stracke, she “really misses” Beauvais and what they had. “It’s just so sad. It was just a sad ending to a really fun-loving friendship.”

“Not only did she not have my back when she called, she never took accountability for it, and that hurt my feelings a lot,” Beauvais shared.

Beauvais Details ‘Hard’ Decision To Leave ‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’

Beauvais walked away from Bravo and “RHOBH” in March 2025, revealing that her focus was shifting to her children as they were getting older.

A year later, the reality star wrote a book about her decision called “Protecting My Peace… At All Costs.”

While promoting the memoir, Beauvais admitted that leaving the show was a tough decision, primarily because of the money, per The Blast.

“It was hard because, again, I’m an immigrant. You don’t leave jobs,” she said. “You don’t leave jobs that are paying you, right? So that wasn’t an easy decision.”

However, something shifted for Beauvais, allowing her to come to terms with saying goodbye.

“A line was drawn for me that I no longer wanted to cross. I felt like my spirit could no longer do it. (It was) just drama for the sake of drama,” she said. “The same way I walked in is how I walked out. Alone. I didn’t wanna fight anymore. I didn’t wanna be a grown a, woman, a grandmother, going after other women.”

Why Beauvais Was ‘Happy’ With Her Choice To Leave

In December 2025, Beauvais said she was experiencing “happy” changes since leaving the world of “Real Housewives” behind her.

“You know, it was tough to be in that fishbowl. And I know the fandom is amazing, and everybody loves the show, and I took a lot away with me from it,” she confessed before saying she’s since gotten more time to spend with those who matter most to her.

“But I’m also happy that I get to spend more time with my kids before they go off to college, and I get to do all these great creative things that I like to do,” she finished.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie attended their cousin Peter Phillips’ royal wedding amid their father Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s ongoing scandal.

Peter’s royal wedding marks a rare public outing for the York princesses, who took a step back from the spotlight amid Andrew’s arrest scandal.

Andrew, 66, was stripped of his royal titles in October 2025, months before being arrested for alleged misconduct in public office. (Andrew, who was released from jail within hours, has not addressed the accusations.)

“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” Andrew’s brother King Charles III said in a February statement. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation.”

The king, 77, continued, “Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”

“They aren’t as worried about Andrew being arrested and going to jail, but they are still horrified that he’s involved in this and worry there could be more to come,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in March of the princesses’ reaction to the scandal. “It’s devastating for them and in London it’s all people are talking about.”

Per the insider, Beatrice and Eugenie “had to change their upcoming public-facing plans and future plans” amid the scandal.

“They are not actually planning on doing any public events in the near future because of everything surrounding their parents because they know that will be the focus,” the source added.
