Remy Ma is not letting up on Papoose and Claressa Shields! After seemingly calling the couple panini pressed, she circled back to give a long-awaited update on her divorce. The ‘Wanna Go’ rapper revealed her next court date with Pap and challenged him to sign the divorce papers to “prove [his] love.”

Remy Ma Reveals Next Divorce Court Date With Papoose

While Remy’s “Mr. & Mrs. Panini” shade was posted on Instagram Story, her latest whacker was shared on the rapper’s main feed. The post featured a clip of Rem riding around in a vehicle with the window down. She silenced the clip’s original audio and added her and Millyz’s song ‘Say Yea’ to the post. Her caption started by promoting the song.

But the hashtags? That’s where the shade appeared to creep in! One hashtag read, “NOBODYYYY want Ya Man,” while another said, “And I mean nobody.” A third hashtag said, “He’s All Yours Boo.” Then, Remy Ma penned a sentence about being played with before naming Papoose and revealing their next divorce court date is allegedly tomorrow, meaning Friday, September 11. She pleaded with him to sign their papers.

“Sidebar: Only thing that can play in my face is this sun 🌞 RemFunFact: Court TOMORROW 9:30am Ayo Pap prove ya luv😂📋✍🏾pleaseeeeee🙏🏾,” Remy Ma wrote.

Remy & Claressa Having Been Coming For Each Other

As previously reported, also on Thursday, the estranged wife shared a photo of a sandwich sitting in a panini press. Remy Ma seemed to direct the text she added toward Papoose and Claressa Shields. The rapper claimed that “Mr. and Mrs. Panini” were bothering her again while she was allegedly minding her business.

Before that post, Shields talked about “3 loser btchs linking up” and “3 btcs who can’t whoop” her. Those comments appeared to be a clapback at Remy Ma linking up with her rival boxers, Alycia Baumgardner and Amanda Serrano. “Weak a** h**s,” Shields add in one X tweet.

Furthermore, Claressa called on the rapper’s rumored boo, battle rapper Eazy E, to come get his “b***h.” Also, she accused Remy Ma of being pressed about her and her man, Papoose. She then responded to an X user who said Remy acts “like she got left.” Claressa replied, “Crazy sh*t!!! Mind you I been with this man 2+ years!!!”

Meanwhile, Papoose has yet to comment on his estranged wife and current girlfriend’s online spats this week.

Fans Weigh In On Rapper’s Divorce Court Message

In about three hours, the divorce court post pulled in over 3,400 comments on Instagram. For the most part, the responses appeared to come from fans who either encouraged her petty or called for Papoose to free Remy Ma. Keep scrolling for a taste of her comment section.

Apple Martin’s Romance Gets Gwyneth Paltrow’s Approval

Published

on

For a celebrity raised in one of Hollywood’s most famous families, finding a relationship that earns approval from both parents might be harder than landing a movie role. However, new reports suggest Apple Martin may have done exactly that.

The 22-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin recently sparked attention after being spotted sharing affectionate moments with boyfriend Moshe Levi in the Hamptons, and insiders say the romance has already won over the people whose opinions matter most.

The Hamptons sighting may have introduced Levi to the public, but insiders say he has been part of Apple’s life for quite some time.

According to sources, Levi has spent months quietly integrating himself into the circles that matter most to Apple, including her closest friends and family members.

“He has gotten to know Apple’s close friends like Sascha Seinfeld and Destry Spielberg. He has been floating around in her world for a while. Everyone seems to approve,” a source told the Daily Mail.

That acceptance reportedly extends well beyond her social circle. Levi was present at Apple’s Vanderbilt University graduation in May, where he spent time with Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris, Apple’s brother Moses Martin, and stepfather Brad Falchuk.

Sources say those interactions only strengthened the family’s opinion of him. One insider explained that Levi has already become a familiar presence around Apple’s loved ones and that his relationship with the family did not happen overnight.

Rather than arriving suddenly on the scene, he gradually built trust with those closest to her, creating the kind of foundation parents often hope to see before fully embracing a relationship.

Paltrow Reportedly Values What Moshe Levi Isn’t

While Apple is beginning to explore Hollywood, sources say one of Levi’s biggest advantages is that he exists outside that world.

According to insiders, Levi studied business and plans to pursue philanthropy. His life is reportedly centered in New York rather than Los Angeles, and sources say that distinction has resonated with Gwyneth Paltrow.

“Gwyneth approves of this guy because he comes from a good family and he has been around – he is not some dude she met in a bar,” a source revealed.

The insider added that Levi’s interests helped set him apart. According to them, “He also has impeccable manners and has interest in business, politics – he is well read and college educated, and Gwyneth likes that.”

Sources also say Paltrow sees balance in the relationship because Apple is pursuing acting while Levi is charting a different professional course.

Beyond family approval, sources say the relationship has deepened through shared experiences and extensive travel. Apple and Levi reportedly met at Vanderbilt University and have remained close ever since.

“They met over a year ago at Vanderbilt University [in Nashville] and they have been pretty much in love ever since. They are cute together and seem to have a very passionate relationship,” one insider said.

Another source described the pair as focused on building a future together, saying, “Apple and Moshe are deeply in love and really grounded in the fact that they’re both building an amazing future together.”

Their bond has reportedly grown through trips abroad, with insiders claiming they have already traveled to destinations including France and Italy. Levi has also supported Apple’s career ambitions, reportedly visiting her while she worked on the set of “Paris Paramount.”

Perhaps the strongest endorsement came from a source who suggested Levi embodies many of the qualities Paltrow and Martin would want in a partner for their daughter.

“Gwyneth and Chris think very highly of Moshe. They’ve both hung out with him on multiple occasions and they both realize that he is very special to Apple and they love that he is both well rounded and on a trajectory to be very successful,” they stated.

Apple’s Acting Career Begins To Take Shape After Boyfriend Spotlight

While much of the recent attention surrounding Apple has centered on her relationship with Levi and the overwhelming approval the romance has reportedly received from both Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, the young star is building something even more significant behind the scenes.

Apple recently revealed that acting has become a serious career goal, a notable shift for someone who previously envisioned a completely different future.

In a February interview with Vogue, she admitted that during her younger years she deliberately resisted following her parents into entertainment.

“I was in that rebellious, ‘I don’t wanna be like my parents’ type of phase,” she explained. Instead, she pursued law, history and society studies at Vanderbilt University, where she enjoyed what she described as a relatively normal college experience away from Hollywood.

That path, however, gradually evolved. During college, Apple became involved in theater and creative projects, eventually discovering a stronger interest in performance and storytelling.

Her ambitions are already turning into tangible opportunities. Reports recently confirmed that she has landed a role in Nancy Meyers’ upcoming film “Paris Paramount,” marking the biggest step yet toward a professional acting career.

The project places her alongside an impressive cast and gives her an entry point into an industry her parents know well.

Beyond acting, Apple has quietly built a résumé in fashion. She has modeled for major campaigns, appeared in Vogue, and become increasingly visible within the fashion world.

As Apple navigates young adulthood, relationships, and career decisions in the public eye, Paltrow has been reflecting on her experience growing up under intense scrutiny.

During a recent appearance on Benny Blanco’s “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast, the actress opened up about her relationship with Brad Pitt and why its ending affected her more deeply than many realized.

Paltrow recalled meeting Pitt while filming “Se7en” and described the connection as “love at first sight.” Their romance quickly became one of the most talked-about celebrity relationships of the 1990s.

They became engaged in 1996, but the engagement ended the following year. Looking back, Paltrow said the breakup carried an unusual emotional burden because of how invested the public had become in their relationship.

The Oscar winner explained that she felt an “extra shame” after the split, partly because the relationship had taken on what she described as greater cultural significance.

She was still in her early twenties, navigating fame, career success and a highly visible romance all at once. The pressure of living through such a public breakup made it even harder.

Despite the heartbreak, Paltrow spoke warmly about her former fiancé, calling Pitt “a great guy” and noting that they remain friends decades later.

I don’t believe in completely swapping out your wardrobe by the seasons — and I’m assuming neither does Jenna Dewan. Certain pieces in the actress’ closet seamlessly transition from summer to fall. Yes, that includes dresses, especially a flowy, boho-inspired maxi design.

In a recent Instagram photo dump, Dewan shared a striking rooftop picture of herself wearing a ruffled floral maxi dress. I’m not sure where her dress is from, but I found a nearly identical design on Amazon for under $50 that is the perfect addition to your fall closet.

Because of its full skirt and long sleeves, this maxi dress can easily be worn throughout the chillier fall months with a solid pair of boots and maybe even a light jacket. Plus, the silhouette is very forgiving thanks to the elastic waist and adjustable tie that cinches you in or can be worn extra loose, depending on how you’re feeling that day.

Netflix’s New ‘John Wick’ Rival Officially Becomes the Alpha of Streaming

Published

on

01538533_poster_w780.jpg

In an unusual turn of events, Netflix’s non-English movies chart this week was dominated by Indian films. The streamer puts out weekly viewership reports unlike most of its competitors, and this week’s chart tracks data for the week of August 31 to September 6. The English-language chart was topped by the psychological thriller The Whisper Man, which has amassed 55 million views in two weeks, while the non-English chart was topped by The Secret Woman, which has hit 30 million views in the same period. Among the six Indian movies on the top-10 list was the action-thriller Gandhari, which took the third spot. The number four spot, on the other hand, was claimed by a holdover hit that topped the chart in four countries this week. The movie’s plot, which revolves around a woman who rebels against her oppressors, would appeal to fans of Black Widow and From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.

The movie in question is a part of the Spy Universe franchise, which is modeled on the Marvel Cinematic Universe and follows secret agents on high-stakes, globe-trotting missions. Previous installments include the hit movies War and Pathaan, as well as the slightly less successful Tiger 3, and the outright flop War 2. The latest installment, which is redeeming itself on Netflix, underperformed commercially as well. It’s headlined by Alia Bhatt, the first female lead in the Spy Universe. Western audiences would know her as the antagonist in Netflix’s Heart of Stone and for her supporting role in RRR.

Your Partner Has Been Assigned
Your Perfect Partner Is…

Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back — for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.

Rambo

Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics — he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable — one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.

James Bond

Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters — and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters — when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing — Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.

Indiana Jones

Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible — but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable — and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.

John McClane

Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema — a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.

Ethan Hunt

Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability — technically, physically, and intellectually — and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him — and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

The Movie Follows a Woman Who Breaks Out of Her Cage and Goes Rogue

We’re talking about the movie Alpha, which follows a woman who is injected with a super serum as part of an experiment, only to go rogue against her creator as she discovers her truth. The movie also features Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Sharvari in supporting roles. Deol’s career received a boost thanks to his antagonist role in the blockbuster Animal, which also happened to feature Kapoor, whom audiences would recognize from Slumdog Millionaire and Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol. According to Netflix, Alpha jumped to 5.2 million views in its second week, following 3.3 million views in its first week. According to FlixPatrol, the movie also found a spot on the domestic top 10 list last week. The movie’s streaming success comes despite poor reviews; it holds a 22% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

Tasia Fortune’s Death Investigated As Homicide Pending Autopsy

Published

Tasia Fortune police homicide suicide autopsy results investigationJackson Mississippi tree

An update in the Tasia Fortune case claims that the police are investigating her death as a homicide pending autopsy results. The 29-year-old mother was found hanging from a tree in Jackson, Mississippi, on Monday, August 3.

Police Chief Gives Update On Tasia Fortune’s Death Investigation

TSR reported that Tasia was found hanging from a tree behind a vacant property in Jackson. The property is located on the 500 block of Road of Remembrance, and Tasia’s body was found in the backyard. However, her mother, Christy Spivey, said at the time that she did not believe her daughter died by suicide.

During the Jackson City Council Meeting on Tuesday, September 8, Jackson Police Chief RaShall Brackney gave an update on the case after a letter was read by Spivey.

“I have no more answers from one day of this investigation,” Spivey said in her letter, which Councilman Kenneth Stokes read in the meeting, per WAPT. “The detectives are like they are on a prerecorded message just saying the same thing over and over. Now it’s gone to silence.”

An autopsy was reportedly completed on or around August 11-12. However, Brackney claims that the medical examiner’s office has not yet provided the JPD with the results. Brackney also claimed that the police were investigating Tasia’s death as a homicide pending the autopsy results, per WABT. Furthermore, she advised that the police had been doing so since “day one,” and would keep investigating until hearing “otherwise.”

She also pushed back against Spivey’s communication claims, saying that she’d been in constant contact with the grieving mother.

“Jackson police have been investigating this case since day one as a homicide,” Brackney said. “Until we hear otherwise from the medical examiner’s office. I have been in contact with the commissioner who oversees the medical examiners several times…. There is a lot of misinformation out there about this case and other ones. In addition, if you want to talk about the letter, we have been in constant contact with Miss Christy Spivey.”

Mississippi History Noted At Council Meeting

As said, Spivey’s letter was read at the meeting by Councilman Kenneth Stokes, and he noted the state’s history of lynching.

“Hanging is a ugly, ugly part of our past that we never, ever want to come back again,” Stokes said.

In addition, on Sunday, September 6, Stokes called for transparency in the case, per WLBT.

“We need to know whether it was suicide, homicide, gun shot, or whatever happened, to this young lady that was hung, said Stokes. “Mississippi can not go backwards. We can not revisit our ugly past where hanging was a common thing.”

Not only that, but Stoked called out the Hinds County Coroner, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the Mississippi Medical Examiner’s Office for not responding to his inquiries about the investigation. He added that it appears as if they are trying to hide something.

It sends a message that you’re trying to hide something, and we do not need to hide anything in the state of Mississippi,” said Stokes. “We want the world to know we’re open and above board.”

Unfortunately, it appears that there are no more answers after the council meetings.

Man Arrested And Questioned

According to WLBT, a man named Terence Anderson was arrested in August on a firearm charge, and he is reportedly a person of interest. NBC News noted that the 65-year-old is the father of Tasia’s five-year-old son, who reportedly resides with his father. Anderson denied being involved in her death. However, he allegedly admitted to having an argument with her. In addition, he lives on the same street where Tasia was found, per WLBT. However, he has not been charged with her death.

8 Thriller Books I Knew Would Be Masterpieces From the First Chapter

Published

on

Three Assassins by Kotaro Isaka

A good thriller book keeps the reader hooked with clever twists and turns, but a true masterpiece of thriller literature is one that instantly grabs the reader’s attention at the very start and never lets go. Some of the best thriller books have earned their place because they can create intrigue even before the story begins and hold that interest until the end.

From shocking opening lines to setups that completely break the reader’s expectations right at the start to plot twists that come early, a masterfully written thriller is all about the momentum it builds that ensures that the reader will not want to leave until it’s over. Ranging across crime, mystery, sci-fi, and conspiracy theories, these gems of thriller literature are easily some of the most brilliantly crafted works of fiction ever written. Without further ado, here’s our selection of thriller books we knew would be masterpieces from the very first chapter.

1

‘Three Assassins’ (2004)

Three Assassins by Kotaro Isaka

Three Assassins is the English translation of the Japanese black comedy-thriller novel Grasshopper by Kōtarō Isaka, which follows Suzuki, an ordinary man and schoolteacher who is drawn into the criminal underworld after his wife is murdered. In an attempt to infiltrate the criminal gang responsible, Suzuki leaves his old life on a quest for revenge, only to find himself pulled into the orbits of an unusual trio of professional hitmen, each with their own agendas. Three Assassins marks the first novel in Isaka’s Hitman trilogy, followed by Bullet Train and The Mantis.

Fun and fast-paced, Three Assassins surprises the audience within the very first pages of the story, where the man whom Suzuki targets for revenge gets killed before he can make a move. This turn of events not only takes the story in a completely unexpected direction, but it also rouses more curiosity in the reader, and the rest of the narrative just raises the tension even further until the final resolution. A gripping story of dangerous assassins and the twists and turns of fate, the novel balances its intense, high-octane action with eerie, meditative moments, making it an underrated gem of modern thriller literature.

‘Dark Matter’ (2016)

Blake Crouch’s mind-bending sci-fi novel, which has been adapted into a well-acclaimed TV series, Dark Matter follows quantum physicist Jason, who is kidnapped and wakes up in an alternate reality. Jason finds himself in a different version of his life from 15 years ago, where his destiny takes a different turn because of his choices, and he must find a way to return to his true reality. The narrative relies heavily on the many-worlds interpretation in quantum mechanics, wherein every possible outcome of every event creates a new, parallel universe.

Widely considered Crouch’s most popular and defining work, Dark Matter was a major bestseller and a hit among its readers, even though the critical reception was mixed. The book hooks the reader almost immediately in the first couple of pages with a terrifying abduction and a disorienting experience for the story’s hero. This shocking opening shatters any further expectations of the reader, thrusting them into a complex, immersive journey through various possibilities of Jason’s life.

3

‘The Husband’s Secret’ (2013)

The Husband's Secret book cover
The Husband’s Secret book cover

Liane Moriarty’s fifth novel and an international bestseller thriller, The Husband’s Secret centers on three different women, Cecilia, Tess, and Rachel, whose only connection is the school their kids go to. One fine day, Cecilia suddenly finds a letter from her husband that is meant to be opened only after his death. When she uncovers a disturbing secret in that letter, it leads to devastating consequences for all three women, unexpectedly entangling their lives.

The Husband’s Secret is a brilliant example of how a character-driven, domestic drama with themes of guilt, grief, and morality can also be immensely thrilling. Even though the story builds up slowly, introducing the central protagonist and her moral dilemma, that setup pays off in very unexpected ways. Rather than being just a dark and intense psychological thriller, The Husband’s Secret thrives on its intriguing mystery, which teases the reader with details but also rewards them with a shocking but satisfying resolution.

‘The Spy Who Came in from the Cold’ (1963)

The third novel and breakthrough work of the master of spy fiction, John le Carré, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold is a Cold War thriller that also became his first book to be adapted into a film. The story centers on Alec Leamas, a British intelligence officer who infiltrates East Germany under the cover of being a defector to trap an East German spy. But Leamas soon discovers that he is but a simple pawn in an elaborate political conspiracy, making him question his mission and his purpose.

A novel that perfectly captured the dark, disillusioned zeitgeist of the Cold War, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold is a gripping page-turner. It is a tense thriller right from the start, where the story opens with Leamas watching the last remaining agent at his Berlin station being killed, setting up a chilling journey ahead for the protagonist. Instead of the conventional, action-packed, glossy adventures of tuxedo-clad spies, Le Carré’s narratives are known for portraying espionage as a cold, bureaucratic, and psychologically draining affair, and none more so than this masterpiece.

An alternate history thriller by Dan Brown, The Da Vinci Code marks his fourth novel and the second book featuring Harvard professor and symbologist Robert Langdon. The book follows Langdon on a trip to Paris, where a sudden murder at the Louvre Museum sets him off on a thrilling crime-solving mission. Along with French cryptologist Sophie Neveu, Robert Langdon races across Europe, decoding cryptic messages and cracking codes hidden in plain sight to catch the killer, seek the truth, and learn a hidden history that puts Christianity in a whole new light.

The Da Vinci Code is unarguably an intelligent conspiracy mystery thriller, even if it’s often too overwhelming in its intricate details. The book is thrilling and fast-paced right from the first chapter, where a dying curator at the Louvre leaves a bizarre message for Langdon to solve, setting off a high-stakes murder investigation with no warning. With a cleverly crafted plot, complex ciphers, and riddles set around an alternate religious history, The Da Vinci Code ranks among the best thrillers of the 21st century, despite all its controversies and criticisms.

Celebrated as a masterpiece of Gothic mystery, Rebecca is atmospheric and intriguing from the first chapter, opening with one of the most famous lines in literature and setting the haunting, dream-like tone that defines the novel. Even though it builds suspense slowly, the story creates immediate curiosity in the reader with the opening setting. Often creepy and chilling, Rebecca is a genre landmark that immerses the reader in the dark, mysterious environment of Manderley and all its bloody secrets.

Through text messages, email exchanges, local news, and police reports, the history of the pub and its mysterious owners, Mal and Sue Eastwood, is brought to light, unraveling a dark, twisted mystery spanning decades.

The Killer Question puts a deliciously thrilling spin on the English pub quizzing culture, with mysterious disappearances, shady characters, and a fast-paced narrative. Despite no shocking opening, the book thrills right from the start with its unique and breezy style, with the tone quickly shifting from light banter to deep discomfort and surprising the reader with the discovery of a dead body. Packed with scandals, rivalries, and character drama, The Killer Question is a masterpiece of contemporary mystery that is thrilling and comedic at the same time.

Gone Girl - 2012 - book cover Image via Crown Publishing Group

In her third book, Gillian Flynn tells a twisted story of love and marriage with different perspectives on the same events. In Gone Girl, when writer Amy Dunne suddenly disappears on her fifth wedding anniversary, it hints at a troubled marriage. When the investigation uncovers Amy’s personal diary with compromising information about her husband Nick, he becomes the key suspect, sparking a massive media storm. But nothing and no one is as they seem in this twisted tale of toxic love.

Gone Girl is not only Flynn’s most successful and popular work, but also one of the most influential mystery thrillers of the 21st century — a book that transformed the genre and cultural conversations on gender and marriage. While the entire story keeps you on the edge, the novel opens with a creepy statement by Nick Dunne, which instantly plants doubt in the reader’s mind about whether Nick is truly responsible for Amy’s disappearance or probable death. Full of surprise twists, shifting perspectives, and suspense, Gone Girl is a brilliant psychological thriller that feels like a fascinatingly complex puzzle from start to finish.

Mona Li confirmed she was “nine months pregnant” in April while celebrating the end of B2K and Bow Wow’s coheadlining Boys 4 Life tour.

“What people see on stage is the talent, the dancing, the performance. What they don’t see is the pain you push through every single night. And still, you show up and give everything like it’s effortless,” she wrote to Raz-B.

Mona Li added, “Thank you for letting me share this journey with you babe. 9 months pregnant and outside w my man ha. I know you didn’t just do this for yourself you did it for your family, for your future, and for the legacy you’re building.”

Watching you become a mother again is one of the greatest blessings I could ever witness. The Thornton family continues to grow… and our legacy does too.”

Five days later, Raz-B penned a moving tribute to his wife, in which he thanked her for giving him “such a beautiful family.”

“Watching you be a mother, a partner, and the heart of this family makes me love and respect you even more every single day. Through all the ups and downs, you’ve stood beside me and helped make this journey long, meaningful, and beautiful,” Raz-B wrote at the time.

The musician added, “I appreciate your strength, your patience, your loyalty, and the way you love all of us. I just want you to know that I see it, I feel it, and I’m forever grateful for you. I love you more than words can explain.”

The family officially celebrated their new arrival with a post on older son Versai Carter Thornton’s Instagram account on May 23.

44 Years Later, Ridley Scott’s Greatest Sci-Fi Quote Still Has Not Been Beaten

Published

on

Roy Batty under the rain in Blade Runner

It’s hard to imagine a time when Blade Runner wasn’t celebrated as an all-time classic. But during its initial release in 1982, Ridley Scott‘s film was actually notoriously overlooked by critics and audiences alike. After being initially disregarded and presented in inferior cuts for years — most notably the infamous theatrical cut that featured a sleepy narration track by star Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard — Blade Runner has come to redefine the science fiction film, thanks to its prescient commentary on the collision between humanity and artificial life forms. No matter what cut you’re watching, the dystopian sci-fi classic’s most iconic quote, Roy Batty’s “Tears in the Rain” monologue, delivered by Rutger Hauer, leaves you with chills. This totemic scene in Blade Runner hasn’t lost an ounce of its profundity through the decades, and it underscores the film’s enduring thematic range.

‘Blade Runner’s “Tears in the Rain” Speech Remains Undeniable

Roy Batty under the rain in Blade Runner

Blade Runner follows Rick Deckard, a cop in 2019 Los Angeles who is on the hunt to terminate the remaining batch of replicants made by the Tyrell Corporation, who have recently returned to Earth. In the group of fugitive synthetic humans is Roy Batty, the film’s most tragic character and the aching heart of Scott’s vision of a world where the line is blurred between human and android. During the film’s visceral climax, Deckard (whose own identity may not be what it seems) chases Roy across rooftops, but because of the replicants’ four-year lifespan, the latter accepts his fate and surrenders. It is on top of a building in the pouring rain where Roy delivers the legendary monologue in which he laments that his life and memories will quickly fade away, just like tears in the rain.

For the rest of modern time, Rutger Hauer’s moving, awe-inspiring speech will be included in various tribute videos celebrating cinema’s finest moments. The late Hauer, who also thrived in The Hitcher and Batman Begins, dined out on this triumphant monologue for decades, and the moment highlights what any actor would want from a richly written passage of dialogue. The actor gives us pathos, humility, and warmth in one fell swoop, conveying this hefty monologue seamlessly. At this moment, based on his muted register and decaying spirit, you can sense that Roy is truly fading away. The visual majesty of the thunderous precipitation adds to the poetic grandeur of this scene, as does the beautiful cinematography juxtaposing the faded neon lights in the background with Roy’s shadowy, mournful face in the foreground.

The Profound Thematic Weight of ‘Blade Runner’s Most Iconic Quote

Most of Blade Runner could be read as a cold and clinical study of a dystopian future, one deprived of emotionality and active human psychology. Due to Ford’s still but transfixing performance and Scott’s brilliant observation of an ominous, tech-controlled future, the film is certainly atmospheric, worthy of the subgenre label “tech noir.” But Rutger Hauer shatters any preconceived notions that the film is a sterile text with his resonant performance. By playing a humanoid with recognizable human traits, he straddles a fine line between uncanny and vulnerable. The “tears in the rain” speech evokes Roy Batty’s passionate salute to the human condition (and a defiance of Deckard’s mission) while also revealing his deep-seated fear of being lost to time.

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe,” Roy says, beginning the memorable soliloquy. The gravitas in his voice tells you everything you need to know about the replicants’ experiences being weaponized by a mega corporation, with harrowing images such as “ships on fire” and C-beams glittering in the dark. Deckard believes he is justified in eliminating replicants, even though this speech indicates that they suffer from the same regrets and longings as humans. Just like us, Roy dreads a future where his existence will be forgotten. This moment challenges the viewers’ notions of artificial life forces. Should we feel empathy for humanoids, even if their presence may compromise the future of humanity? It’s a polarizing question no one has the answer to, but Roy’s monologue reminds the audience that replicants understand pain more than anyone else living in this dystopian world.

After uttering the words “tears in the rain” and subsequently shutting down for good, Roy Batty becomes a martyr for the replicants. Roy, who saved Rick Deckard from falling during their climactic chase, recognized the same internal conflict torturing him. If he doesn’t accept his own identity as a replicant, then he’ll only lead to his own self-destruction and genocide of the replicants. Blade Runner‘s most iconic quote is concise, but its thematic depth is almost too dense for a lone feature film; this movie isn’t like the others.

Jenelle Evans Addresses Her ‘Situation’ With David Eason

Teen Mom s Jenelle Evans Is Officially Legally Divorced From David Eason.jpg

Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans is promising her fans that she is “done” with ex David Eason after recently letting him back into her life.

“The topic of David. Just think this needs to be addressed to all of my fans because I’ve just been so transparent with you guys over the years,” Evans, 34, explained in a TikTok video on Wednesday, September 9. “I’m just kinda silent lately because of my health issues. Also, my mental struggles, what I’ve been going through lately, it’s been really, really tough.”

Evans confirmed that she was “coparenting” 9-year-old daughter Ensley with Eason, 38, “for months,” including letting him visit with Ensley one-on-one so they could have “their time together.” (The MTV star also shares 17-year-old son Jace with ex Andrew Lewis and 12-year-old son Kaiser with Nathan Griffith.)

In her TikTok video, Evans acknowledged that her fans were concerned about her giving Eason another chance since she has taken legal action against him in the past. (Evans and Eason were together on and off from 2015 until she filed for separation in 2024.)

Teen Mom’s Jenelle Evans wants to set the record straight about her relationship with ex-husband David Eason. Evans, 33, took to her Instagram Stories on Monday, October 13, and answered a series of questions from her followers. In response to a fan asking if she was “talking to David again,” she clarified, “F*** no,” adding […]

“Everything was nice at first, [he was] very sweet and caring,” Evans said. “He was trying to hold my hand and touch me a lot. That all went away within a month.”

According to Evans, Eason started showing signs of a new “attitude” and began “name-calling” when he was frustrated.

“That was the s*** I was dealing with for nine years and I refuse to still put up with it now,” she insisted. “I don’t know if he was being manic at some points but it showed me a lot of red flags I’ve recognized for years.”

Evans insisted that her “breaking point” came when Eason allegedly made insulting comments to Ensley one morning before school. (The Teen Mom franchise star explained that her two youngest kids were in public school for a few weeks before she started homeschooling them.)

Evans claimed that Eason continued insulting Ensley in the car until she turned around to assure their daughter that she is “beautiful, gorgeous and smart.” Evans said she ordered her ex to “get the F” out of her house. David then allegedly turned the car around and headed back to the residence, demanding that Evans take the kids to school on her own.

“I said, ‘I can’t even walk or drive because I’m in pain.’ … He drove us home,” she remembered. “Once we get to the house, he starts packing all of his stuff and he starts dumping out my purse, going through my s*** … Since there is a no-contact order between us, I did threaten to call the police.”

Per Evans, Eason allegedly “got scared” and immediately left her residence, leaving all of his personal belongings behind.

“He still hasn’t asked for anything, which is kinda weird,” she said. “I say all this because he knew what I was going through with my health and [he] still acted this way.”

Earlier this week, Evans confirmed she had surgery on her left knee in April and was later diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). (The Mayo Clinic describes CRPS as a form of chronic pain that develops in a limb, often after surgery.)

“I was seeing everything happen all over again [with Eason] before my f***ing eyes,” she said. “I was like, I’m not doing this anymore and for [him] to treat me this way while I’m … the downest I’ve ever been in my life?”

Jenelle Evans is trying to find the positive in her bumpy marriage with estranged husband David Eason. “I don’t regret that time because I learned a lot of life lessons that were very important for me to grow up and mature,” Evans, 32, shared via her Instagram Stories on Friday, April 26, when participating in […]

The Teen Mom 2 star felt she owed her fans an explanation because she knew they were “concerned” about her getting close with Eason again.

“I’m always a believer of second chances, unfortunately,” she said. “I do that with my exes. That’s my track record. Everybody knows that. This time, at least it only took a few months to see the dramatic change in his behavior. Ladies, don’t put up with that.”

She accused Eason of moving away from Florida to North Carolina, where he allegedly tried to charge $3,000 on her credit card to pay a boat-docking fee. (Evans confirmed she was “refunded” by the bank.)

Evans encouraged anyone in a similar situation to “break free,” adding. “I know it’s scary to be alone. One day, you’ll just have to wake up and have that epiphany.”

“Nobody can tell you to leave him. You have to make that decision yourself and it’s very hard,” she acknowledged.

Evans also promised her followers that she’s “getting better at [her] decision-making,” having started to see a therapist.

“We agree that I have a lot of trauma that’s happened that I have not really acknowledged,” she said. “We are working on that!”

In closing her video, Evans insisted that she’d “blocked” Eason and had not spoken to him at all in at least “two weeks.”

The gym, practice — I’ll always be a fan because of that.”
