Lizzo is gearing up for the release of a brand-new album, “B-TCH,” set for June 2026. However, after facing accusations from her dancers, the pop songstress has failed to match the commercial success of her previous releases. This includes scrapping a previously planned album. Now, she’s released the title track from the upcoming LP, but social media is rejecting it, calling it yet another flop.

Lizzo released the title track from her new album on May 1. Notably, this comes after the previous track from the album, “Don’t Make Me Love You,” has failed to gain traction on the charts in most parts of the world, especially the U.S.

The songstress took to X to share a snippet of the song’s music video. She said in the caption, “This song is dedicated to the women who get called a b-tch for having boundaries, for being sexual, for speaking up for themselves, for working hard and owning businesses… If we don’t smile and perform all the time, we’re ‘ungrateful.’ If we run a strict program, we’re ‘mean.’”

The music video is shot in black and white, featuring Lizzo with several dancers, all wearing black. Notably, the song interpolates Meredith Brooks‘ 1997 anthem of the same name.

Fans On X Aren’t Loving The Song

Unfortunately for Lizzo, the fans who replied to her X post weren’t pleased with the song, with some even mentioning the allegations made by her dancers. One person said, “Girl, how many ‘anthems’ are you gonna pull out of your a-s? Weren’t you a rapper? I guess that was only for an award.”

Someone else quoted Nicki Minaj, writing, “Hang it up, flat screen.” They then included a GIF of a person doing that very thing. After that, a different X user alluded to her string of failed singles, saying, “Must’ve run out of Velcro cause uhh..Ain’t nothing sticking.”

A different social media user stated, “This sounds really corny, Lizzo. This I’m a thing was everywhere in the Obama administration, and people hated it. Now you reheat it?”

Ahead of the release of the new single, Lizzo took to social media. Not only did the “Juice” singer celebrate her birthday, but she also shared her album cover. She said in the caption, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! To celebrate, I present to you  — MY NEW ALBUM [is] COMING JUNE 5TH. Wanna get me a gift? Pre-order my album, baby!!!!” Lizzo then shared a link for fans to preorder the album.

Regarding the cover, it’s one of the simplest from her discography. It features, over a white background, a hand, complete with long nails, with Lizzo’s position as its middle finger. She also has her arms extended up in a celebratory pose.

According to Apple Music’s listing for the album, “B-TCH” will include 12 tracks. This will be Lizzo’s third album from Nice Life Recording Company/Atlantic.

The Songstress Was Supposed To Release An Album In 2025

Lizzo announced plans for a new studio album in early 2025. The first taste of the new project, a song called “Love in Real Life,” was released in February. The song failed to make a significant impact, and she later released “Still Bad” in March of that year. It enjoyed a bit more commercial success but didn’t come close to becoming the radio hit that major record labels sought before releasing albums.

Sound of My Voice follows two documentary filmmakers, Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), who infiltrate a secretive cult led by a woman named Maggie (Brit Marling), who claims to be from the future. As they gain her trust and begin documenting her teachings, they encounter a group of devoted followers who believe deeply in her story. Maggie provides specific, seemingly verifiable predictions and details about the future that make the filmmakers question what they believe.

Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij have consistently created thought-provoking indie movies before their breakout mainstream success with The OA. Sound of My Voice is instrumental to the Netflix cult series, as it has a lot of its DNA, notably in the setting and atmosphere. The film sustains ambiguity around Maggie’s legitimacy and never directly confirms or debunks her position, and the audience, like the two documentarians, is consistently questioning her. The film is infamous for its abrupt ending, which can be frustrating, but it also gives space for the audience to rethink what they have seen and make their own conclusion.

‘Oldboy’ (2003)

Oldboy follows Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik), who is inexplicably imprisoned in a private cell for 15 years without explanation. Suddenly released, he is given money, clothes, a phone, and a task to discover the reason for his imprisonment within five days or face consequences. As Dae-su retraces his past, he forms a connection with a young woman named Mi-do (Kang Hye-jung) and begins to uncover a long-buried secret.

Similar to other films on this list, Oldboy is effective and memorable for putting the audience in Dae-su’s perspective. It is already a relentless thriller thanks to its layered structure and innovative filmmaking. Park Chan-wook constantly feeds the audience partial answers that feel satisfying in the moment but ultimately lead to even darker questions. The film’s mix of genres makes it richer, ranging from a revenge story to a psychological thriller to a tragedy. The final reveal is shocking for Dae-su and the audience, recontextualizing everything that came before and forcing the audience to let everything sink in.

‘Gone Girl’ (2014)

Gone Girl sees devoted wife Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) disappear on her fifth wedding anniversary. Suspicion quickly falls on her husband Nick (Ben Affleck), whose awkward public image and inconsistent statements make him an easy target. The police begin to investigate the case, with the crime scene and Amy’s diary entries as the main clues that point to a deteriorating marriage, which corners Nick even more.

Gone Girl thrives on its ability to constantly reset the audience’s assumptions through unreliable narrators in both Amy and Nick. Gillian Flynn‘s book leans to the trope even more, but David Fincher and Flynn herself adapted it perfectly for the film. So every time you think you understand the dynamics of the relationship, the story pivots and forces you to reconsider everything. It’s less about a single twist and more about continuous unpredictability, especially if you haven’t read the source material. Gone Girl also plays with media narratives and public perception, adding another layer of uncertainty about what’s real and what’s being performed.

‘Memento’ (2000)

Memento follows Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce), who suffers from short-term memory loss after a traumatic attack that also resulted in his wife’s death. Unable to form new memories, Leonard relies on handwritten notes, Polaroid photos, and tattoos on his body to track clues in his quest to find the man he believes responsible. To add to the unpredictability, the narrative moves in reverse chronological order.

Christopher Nolan’s obsession with time stems from this film. Its disorienting structure forces the audience to tap into Leonard’s fractured mindset. Viewers are constantly piecing together events without full context, only to have each new scene reshape their understanding of the last. Nolan turns memory itself into the central mystery, raising questions about truth, self-deception, and the stories we tell ourselves to cope. The final reveal seems secondary after trying to guess what it all meant throughout the film. Instead, Memento challenges whether Leonard, and by extension the audience, ever truly wanted to know the truth at all.

‘The Game’ (1997)

In The Game, wealthy banker Nicholas Van Orton (Michael Douglas) receives a mysterious birthday gift from his brother (Sean Penn) to participate in an elaborate, personalized experience run by a company called Consumer Recreation Services. Initially skeptical, Nicholas soon finds his life spiraling out of control as the game begins to blur with reality. With his money gone and his home compromised, Nicholas tries to find the truth behind the organization and stop the game.

The film excels as a thriller because it systematically dismantles both Nicholas’s sense of control and the audience’s grip on reality. In his third feature film, David Fincher demonstrates mastery in filmmaking and narrative deception, constructing a narrative where every development could either be part of the game or a genuine threat; there’s no clear way to distinguish between the two. This constant ambiguity keeps viewers in a state of tension. The Game becomes more and more intense as it develops, so much that the third act reveal feels like an extended exhale after holding our breath throughout the movie. In Fincher’s decorated filmography, this film, unfortunately, is the one that gets overlooked the most.

Days of Our Lives is gearing up for the reading of Stefano DiMera‘s (Joseph Mascolo) will and there are some changes in the wind. First off, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) was added to the list of beneficiaries and also Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) has been revealed as the new executor thanks to a codicil that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) just learned about.

So, there’s also some talk about Marlena and Stefano’s twisted past and some hints that have us wondering if the Phoenix and his Queen of the Night had a child together that we never knew about. And we’re going to talk about a big twist that may be coming.

So, it could be that the writers did a huge retcon of known history and they may reveal a twist in somebody’s maternity. Not paternity. But maternity as in a different mom. So, before we dive into a possible Marlena and Stefano baby twist.

Major Days of Our Lives Storyline Twists Coming

So, already I think that the reading of Stefano’s will is going to yield major storyline twists for many in the DiMera family and people adjacent to them as well. And one of those twists could tie into his ongoing bizarre and decades-lasting obsession with Marlena.

So this past week when Abe Carver (James Reynolds) was talking to Theo, he mentioned that aside from Marlena, he thinks that Lexie Carver‘s (Nikki Crawford) mom, Celeste Perrault (Beverly Todd), was the only woman that Stefano truly loved. And Abe also sort of implied that Stefano might have loved Celeste more than Marlena. Primarily because Stefano had a child with Celeste. But is there more to it? And we’re about to get a huge retcon that could shock the fans and the DiMera family.

Marlena in for a Huge Shock on DOOL?

Given that Stefano had pet mad scientist Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) at his beck and call, I mean honestly anything is possible when it comes to secret kids. So, is Stefano going to twist and manipulate Marlena’s life from beyond the grave? We should see the will being read in the week ahead, the week of May 4th through the 8th.

So, EJ already spent time with Marlena this week talking to her about hypnotherapy. Because he wants to find out more about his time in the Italian hospital with Cat Green (AnnaLynne McCord). And EJ again was encouraging Marlena to attend the will reading. But she wasn’t quite sure.

Could Chad Be Marlena’s Son on Days?

So, if there is a twist like this coming, I’m wondering if EJ’s in the dark about it or if he knows. So, even though Stefano, who was Marlena’s tormentor, is confirmed to be dead and buried, he is living rent-free in her head. And EJ told Marlena that showing up for Stefano’s will reading could give her closure.

And we know, of course, that Marlena is curious about what’s going on. But she also mentioned this isn’t necessarily something new. She’s been named as a beneficiary in some of Stefano’s past wills. I mean, the Phoenix rose from the death several times, like 13 or 14 times. It was insane.

Days of Our Lives: Grown Baby Bombshell Coming?

So, I do think secrets are going to come out that have never been revealed. And one possibility based on the recent conversations with Abe and Theo about Stefano’s fixation on Marlena and them not having a child is we find out something that she doesn’t know. Did Stefano get Marlena pregnant and she had his child but does not remember?

Are we getting a grown baby bombshell as part of the will reading? And if so, we’re wondering if they’re going to do a retcon. And we’re going to find out Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd) is the biological son of Marlena and Stefano.

Days of Our Lives writers are pretty skilled at using foreshadowing and little Easter eggs and hints. And when Theo and Abe were talking about Marlena and Celeste and Stefano having a child with Celeste. But not with Marlena, the very next scene it cut to was Chad talking to Marlena. So that could have been an Easter egg.

How This Could Be Possible on Days

When Chad first came on to Salem, the Salem scene, you may remember, I think he was 16. He was a teenager, introduced as the son of an affluent couple, Madeline Peterson Woods (Jessica Tuck) and Charles Woods (David Leisure). But it came out after Madeline died that she was a former call girl that Stefano had slept with and that he was Chad’s true bio dad, not her husband.

So, given that Chad came on the scene as a troubled teenager and wasn’t born on screen, the Days of Our Lives writers have a good amount of wiggle room if they want to rewrite the story of his origins. And if Marlena is indeed Chad’s biological mom, the big question is why wouldn’t Marlena know?

So, how could it be possible that Stefano got her pregnant, Marlena gave birth to a son, and knows nothing about it? I got two words for you. Dr. Rolf. Now, we know that Stefano kidnapped Marlena on many occasions, including during the Queen of the Night era.

Days of Our Lives: Stefano Impregnated Marlena Under Mind Control?

So, Stefano had Marlena under mind control, and he was manipulating her. A lot of it done in the dead of the night when she was dreaming or when she thought she was dreaming. So, Stefano may have had consensual sex or honestly it would have been non-consensual sex with Marlena when she was drugged, brainwashed, gaslit, and Stefano could have gotten her pregnant.

And because of the brainwashing and trauma and blackouts, Marlena didn’t know or she forgot. You know, Rolf could have delivered the baby early, put Marlena in a coma and delivered the child and Stefano gave the baby to Madeline to raise. So, Rolf may have altered records or brainwashed Marlena into thinking she was never pregnant or had a stillbirth, something like that.

Chad’s mother may have been paid or coerced to pretend that Stefano’s secret love child with Marlena was her child with her husband. Because the truth that Stefano was Chad’s dad didn’t come out until she died. So, they could also retcon it to Stefano saying that Madeline could never tell anyone the truth about Chad’s real parents.

Dr. Rolf’s Medical Wizardry on DOOL

Or from another angle, Stefano could have had Rolf harvest Marlena’s eggs during one of the kidnappings. And like Rolf did with Kate Robert’s (Lauren Koslow) and Roman Brady’s (Josh Taylor) DNA to create twins Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) and Cassie Brady (Alexis Thorpe), you know, Rolf could have made a Stefano and Marlena embryo and implanted it into Madeline, and she was actually Chad’s surrogate mother rather than his biological mother. But then raised him as her own. Think about that.

Rolf stole Tate Black (Leo Howard) when he was just a little embryo from Theresa Donovan’s womb and planted him in Kristen DiMera‘s (Stacy Haiduk) womb. Dr. Rolf’s medical wizardry also helped Kristen get pregnant with Rachel way past her fertility expiration date. And I think it was 2020, so like six years ago, Rolf tried to implant a Stefano clone embryo in Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) when she was also past her fertility expiration date.

Days of Our Lives: Marlena Gets Huge Shock

So, I do expect some really big and bizarre reveals at this will reading. And I have to say that this is a retcon I’d probably be okay with. I think it might turn out to be a good thing. You know, Marlena’s grieving John Black (Drake Hogestyn).

She could use some good news in her life. I mean, that would be a good news, bad news situation. Like, oh, by the way, you know, Stefano had a baby and you didn’t know. But good news, it’s a nice guy. It’s Chad, you know, and he’s an orphan, so he could use a loving mother figure in his life.

I mean, honestly, if they went this route, it might be one of the kindest things Stefano’s done for Marlena, revealing the truth at long last. So, the bequest that she gets from Stefano’s will may not be a trinket or some jewelry or some cash. But the reveal of a secret son she never knew that they had and that she already loves.
