Related: Eva Mendes: Why Ryan Gosling and I Don’t Do Red Carpets Together

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes put on a loved-up display in a rare joint TV appearance.
Appearing on the Thursday, March 5, episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Gosling, 45, surprised his wife for her 52nd birthday.
Gosling was on the late night talk show to promote his upcoming film, Project Hail Mary, in which he plays a teacher, and he used the opportunity to make a grand romantic gesture.
“It is Eva’s birthday today. She is here,” Gosling told the audience, which was full of teachers. “You have no idea how much she loves teachers. Loves you so much. She has her hall monitor sash still from when she was a kid. She hangs it proudly in the house.”
He then asked the crowd, “If I get her, would you sing ‘Happy birthday’ to her?” The audience enthusiastically agreed to the request.
After a producer grabbed Mendes from backstage and guided her towards the stage, Gosling left his seat next to host Fallon to approach his wife. The actor held Mendes’ hand as he led her in front of the audience for her surprise.
As part of the elaborate surprise, the North Bergen High School Marching Band began playing “Happy Birthday” while a huge banner read, “Happy Birthday Eva.”
The couple packed on the PDA during the cute moment, with a clearly delighted Mendes seen gripping on to Gosling’s arm. She then tenderly grabbed her husband’s face and leaned in to whisper something in his ear and kissed him sweetly on the cheek.

Mendes and Gosling rarely make public appearances together. The last time they were photographed together on a red carpet was 13 years ago at the premiere of their film The Place Beyond The Pines in Toronto, Canada.
The private couple starred together in the movie which was filmed in 2011. After falling in love, they welcomed two daughters, Esmeralda, born in 2014, and Amada, born in 2016.
In 2023, Mendes addressed why she and Gosling have not been pictured at public events in the many years since despite their relationship flourishing.
After Mendes shared a throwback post of herself and Gosling in The Place Beyond The Pines, a follower commented that they were hoping to see Mendes on the red carpet as Gosling promoted his movie Barbie, which was released that year.
“What a cool comment, thank you,” Mendes responded at the time. “But we don’t do those things together.”
She explained, “Like these photos I’ve been posting, I’m only comfortable posting because it’s already out there.”
Mendes also noted that the photos taken of the pair in September 2012 came from the sole time they stepped out together on the red carpet.
“Oh wait — for those who may catch me in a ‘lie’ — we only were on the red carpet together once when promoting this film,” she added in a follow-up comment.
Timothée Chalamet has unexpectedly found himself at the center of a heated cultural debate.
The Hollywood star sparked backlash after making remarks about ballet and opera during a public conversation about modern audiences.
What began as a discussion about shrinking attention spans quickly ignited strong reactions from artists, critics, and fans who accused the actor of dismissing centuries-old art forms.

The controversy traces back to a February discussion between Timothée Chalamet and fellow actor Matthew McConaughey for Variety. During the conversation, the pair explored how modern entertainment competes with increasingly short attention spans.
McConaughey raised the issue first, asking, “In this day of shorter attention spans, vertical 12-second spots, are we losing attention?”
He pointed out that studios sometimes restructure movies to get to dramatic conflict faster, suggesting that audiences may struggle with slower storytelling.
Chalamet responded by noting that there is still strong demand for slower-paced cinema among younger viewers. However, he also reflected on how filmmakers often feel pressure to convince audiences to support certain types of projects.

“It does take you having to wave a flag of, ‘Hey, this is a serious movie,’ or something, and some people do want to be entertained and quickly,” he said.
He added that he feels conflicted about the idea of campaigning for audiences to support certain genres.
Chalamet said, “I’m really right in the middle, Matthew. I admire people, and I’ve done it myself, who go on a talk show and say, ‘Hey, we’ve got to keep movie theaters alive, we’ve gotta keep this genre alive,’ and another part of me feels like if people want to see it, like Barbie, like Oppenheimer, they’re going to go see it and go out of their way to be loud and proud about it.”

The backlash erupted after Chalamet referenced classical performance arts as part of his explanation.
“I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera where it’s like, ‘Hey! Keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this anymore.’”
He quickly tried to soften the remark, laughing as he added, “All respect to the ballet and opera people out there. I just lost 14 cents in viewership. I’m taking shots for no reason.”
Once the clip circulated online, performers from the opera and ballet world began responding publicly. Many felt the comment dismissed art forms that have endured for centuries and require intense discipline.
The Independent reported that opera singer Isabel Leonard was among the first to respond, sharing a lengthy critique.

She wrote, “Honestly, I’m shocked that someone so seemingly successful can be so ineloquent and narrow-minded in his views about art while considering himself as artist as I would only imagine one would as an actor.”
She continued by arguing that artists should support one another rather than undermine different forms of creative expression.
Leonard added, “To take cheap shots at fellow artists says more in this interview than anything else he could say. Shows a lot about his character. You don’t have to like all art, but only a weak person/artist feels the need to diminish; in fact, the VERY arts that would inspire those who are interested in slowing down, to do exactly that.”

Other members of the classical arts community also voiced their disappointment.
Canadian mezzo-soprano Deepa Johnny described Chalamet’s remarks as a “disappointing take,” stressing that artists across disciplines should work together to strengthen the arts rather than undermine them.
Visual artist Franz Szony went even further in criticizing the actor’s comments.
He said, “Two classical art forms that have been around for hundreds of years, both of which take a massive amount of talent and discipline, this man will never possess.”
He added, “Speaks volumes about his taste level for him to say this… also, saying ‘no disrespect’ after saying something disrespectful actually translates to ‘I disrespect art I don’t understand.’”
Members of the ballet world also stepped in to defend their craft. Choreographer Martin Chaix insisted the art form remains vibrant and culturally significant.
He said, “If anything, in a world where AI is reshaping cinema faster than most realise, the unmediated human presence of ballet and opera becomes more essential, not less. I hope he finds his way into a theatre.”

Cultural institutions also weighed in on the broader conversation.
A spokesperson for the Royal Ballet and Opera emphasized that classical performance traditions have long influenced modern entertainment, including cinema.
“Ballet and opera have never existed in isolation – they have continually informed, inspired, and elevated other art forms,” the spokesperson said.
They added that the impact of these disciplines extends across numerous creative industries.
The statement concluded, “Their influence can be felt across theatre, film, contemporary music, fashion, and beyond. For centuries, these disciplines have shaped the way artists create, and audiences experience culture, and today millions of people around the world continue to enjoy and engage with them.”

The debate also spilled onto social media platforms, where fans expressed a wide range of opinions about the actor’s comments.
On Reddit, one frustrated user wrote, “He’s such a little twerp, he really lacks any self-awareness, and his ego is out of control. What kind of artist looks down on other art forms? Especially ones that require extensive training and dedication like ballet and the opera? With the way AI is going, he’s more likely to be out of a job before them! Ugh, I can’t stand him.”
Others defended the endurance of classical arts regardless of celebrity criticism. One commenter noted, “Ballet and opera outlived empires. I think they’ll survive this take.”

Another user pointed out a personal connection to the art form, reminding readers that Chalamet’s “mom and sister were ballet dancers…”
Meanwhile, a fourth critic wrote, “My opinion of this dude dropped SO quickly the last year or so. I went from not really caring about him, but thinking he was pretty okay, to getting annoyed every time I see his face. He seems very egotistical, shallow, and entitled.”
As the online debate continues, the moment has sparked a wider conversation about the place of classical arts in modern culture and the responsibility artists have when discussing the creative work of others.

Chalamet drew criticism for suggesting that ballet and opera are disciplines that “no one cares about.”
Aaron Rodgers‘ wife remains a mystery, and while the quarterback appears unbothered by the secrecy, a former player has described the situation as bizarre.
The marriage first became public when Rodgers was spotted wearing a wedding band during a training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers last year. Although his wife’s name, Brittani, is known, as Rodgers has mentioned her a few times in interviews, the quarterback has yet to make any public appearances with her.
Aaron Rodgers has also not shared any photos of her or images from their private wedding, previously explaining that she prefers to live a quiet and private life.

Earlier in the week, Aaron Rodgers appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” and took a swipe at those trying to uncover the identity of his mystery wife, Brittani.
The quarterback described the “obsession” as “f-cking bizarre,” explaining that his wife prefers to live a private life, a point he has also made in previous interviews.
However, his remarks this time sparked backlash from former National Football League player Emmanuel Acho, who addressed the situation while appearing on the “Speakeasy” podcast, per Sportsnet Pittsburgh.
Article continues below advertisement
“You are a public figure. When you are a public figure, people care about who you are in a relationship with,” Acho said about the veteran quarterback. “Rodgers, why you act like people trying to figure out your mystery wife is bizarre? Your behavior with this mystery person is bizarre.”
He added, “The only thing that’s actually bizarre, Aaron Rodgers, is that you randomly got married to some random person and are randomly keeping it the most random secret. That’s what’s bizarre. We’re not the crazy people, Aaron Rodgers. You are the one that’s behaving out of the norm.”

Interestingly, McAfee, whose show Rodgers appeared on, and who is reportedly close friends with the player, has yet to meet Brittani.
“I have not,” McAfee told the outlet after he was asked if he had met Rodgers’ wife. “But I am, once again, happy for him… and if I get a chance to meet her, that’ll obviously be cool.”
Fox Sports reporter Jen Hale, who also claimed to have a close relationship with Rodgers, also admitted to not having met the mysterious wife back in January.

“I’ve never met her. I don’t know her,” Hale said of Brittani. “Aaron has become a friend over the years, so I wish him the very best. I think he’s happy. And that’s all you want for your people — you want them to find their comfort zone and their happiness.”

Despite keeping his wife’s identity private, Rodgers has not been shy about expressing his love for her.
In a July 2025 interview, he heaped praise on Brittani, pointing to the positive impact she has had on his life since they first met.
“When you meet the right one, and you’re with the right one, your whole world changes in a second. And to have that person that unconditionally loves you behind the scenes, there’s no better feeling in the world, and I have the most incredible wife,” Rodgers said in an interview at Steelers training camp.

Praising his private wife further, Rodgers called Brittani his “rock” and thanked his lucky stars that he has her in his life.
“I just really love her, and I’m so thankful to have her by my side at the end,” the football star said about his mysterious spouse.
He continued, “When you have that stability and that rock behind you at the house, you feel like you can do anything.”

With free agency set to officially open on March 11, speculation has once again surfaced about what the next step in Rodgers’ career will be.
The veteran quarterback previously signed a one-year, $13.65 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers and could either secure a contract extension, move to another team, or decide to hang up his cleats.
In the meantime, Rodgers has claimed that he has not received any offers from the Steelers.
“There’s no contract offer or anything, so there’s nothing that I’m having to debate between. I’m a free agent. I’m enjoying my time with my wife and enjoying this part of the offseason,” Rodgers said, per the New York Post. “I think there’s conversations to be had down the line, but right now there hasn’t been any progressive conversations.”
General Hospital reveals Nathan Dean is coming back to GH as Ethan Lovett after a six-year absence and we’re so excited to see him return.
We’re going to talk about what could be bringing Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) son back to Port Charles. Plus, it’s cool they got the original actor back in the role.
Ok so, first off, I just want to mention when I saw this news, I was like who the heck is Nathan Dean—because when he was last on GH and when he was on The Originals and Roswell, New Mexico, he went by the name Nathan Parsons.
His full name is Nathan Dean Parsons by the way. The character was briefly recast once in 2023. But now the OG Ethan is back and this should be exciting. Nathan’s return is in April and although we don’t have his first airdate yet, May sweeps kicks off April 23rd.
With General Hospital‘s bloated cast, I’d be surprised if Ethan was coming back to stay. Plus Frank Valentini said Nathan Dean’s back “for a story” so he may be doing a limited arc for this particular story and we’ve got some ideas on why he’s coming back.
He could be back for a tragedy or a hot romantic pairing and maybe a little mystery. Let’s get right to it!
So first, there’s a chance that Holly’s son might be back for Robert Scorpio’s offscreen death and funeral. Sadly, Tristan Rogers passed away in August 2025 and his character Robert’s death will be coming in the next few months. It’ll obviously be offscreen.
So, Ethan could come back on his mom Holly’s arm to escort her to Robert’s funeral. Or if for some reason Emma Samms can’t be back to film funeral scenes, they could use Ethan as her representative.
If you recall, Holly first claimed Robert was Ethan’s father before admitting that he’s Luke’s son. So, I think Ethan would definitely want to be there to support Holly as she grieves Robert. So, that’s a perfect reason for Ethan to return to Port Charles.
Second, if Ethan is coming back for romance, the question is who might he be paired with. Most of his past love interests aren’t on General Hospital anymore, but one is. One that Ethan’s got a contentious past with.
That’s Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi). She had a major crush on Ethan back in her late teens but then she did him dirty. When her abusive boyfriend Kiefer beat Kristina severely, Ethan actually took her to the hospital. But then Kristina lied and said Ethan assaulted her.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) threatened to kill Ethan and he was arrested and made into a town pariah. Kristina later apologized and Ethan forgave her even though she nearly ruined his life. That happened 16 years ago.
And we know Kristina hasn’t had a romance in quite some time. And while her last couple of romances were with women, she’s sexually fluid and also dates men, so Ethan’s a possibility, especially because of their twisted history.
Ok the next reason Ethan may come back is that he has ties to the Cassadine family because Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) kidnapped him a few years back and put him up for sale at an auction where the winner would get to kill him. Thankfully Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) bought him and he was saved.
Plus he had a thing with Helena Cassadine’s daughter, Irina Cassadine AKA the woman in white (Alyshia Ochse). So, Ethan could wind up involved with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) or Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) final project on cold fusion.
Although, I don’t think Ethan would be involved with Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), the WSB, or Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). But Ethan is known to get into trouble quite often so you never know, it is a possibility he could be involved in something shady. But since the Marco-Sidwell-Cullum stuff is supposed to wrap in May, the timing aligns.

Another reason they may bring back Ethan is for him to see his sister Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and to also grieve the loss of his dad, Luke, with her, Tracy, and others. Although we just had a tribute episode for Anthony Geary who passed in December 2025, I’m sure Ethan will discuss his grief once he’s back.
Also, our GH leaker recently mentioned that Frank Valentini wanted Jonathan Jackson to come back as Lucky Spencer, but he declined to return for anything more than a very short stint, because he doesn’t want to be too far from his home and family in Nashville for too long.
So, GH might have decided to bring Ethan back to do whatever storyline they had in mind for Lucky. That way, Lulu at least has one of her brothers there to support her. She’ll be thrilled to see Ethan, and he and Lulu will have a lot to catch him up on.
The final possibility is that Ethan may end up plotting with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) to take down Sonny. This week, Josslyn raged at Carly Corinthos Spencer (Laura Wright) and claimed that she joined the WSB because she wants to take down Sonny and everyone like him once and for all.
If you recall, Josslyn mentioned taking down Sonny when she first signed up with the WSB. But then GH hasn’t circled back around to it. But Ethan definitely could be holding a grudge since Sonny was going to kill Ethan back in the day because of Kristina’s false accusation.
It’s understandable since Sonny thought Ethan had beaten Kristina. But Ethan was arrested and Sonny could’ve let the justice system do its job. Instead, he almost had Ethan killed. And he and Josslyn are cousins so I’m sure they’ll cross paths because they’re family.
While Ethan might come back to Port Charles for a different reason, he could wind up conspiring with Josslyn if they figure out they both have taking down Sonny in common. But no matter why Ethan’s back, I can’t wait to see what GH has in store for him!

Studies suggest that in most cases, a child is abducted by someone they know, like a parent in the middle of a rancorous custody battle who just wants to see their kid. 2022’s The Stranger, on the other hand, tells a far more sinister story, resulting in a sting operation designed to take down a suspected child killer by forcing him to confess when he finally lets his guard down.
Inspired by the real-life murder of Australian child Daniel Morcombe, The Stranger is ultimately a work of fiction that uses real events to drive its narrative. It’s worth noting, however, that the real family who suffered the loss of their son wanted nothing to do with the movie, so names have obviously been changed, and the granular details tied to the true crime story were modified for the sake of respecting their wishes.

The Stranger takes its time setting up the conflict, as we first see events from Henry Peter Teague’s (Sean Harris) perspective. A seemingly broke loner riding the bus, he encounters a man named Paul Emery (Steve Mouzakis), who offers him low-level work for a criminal organization. This encounter eventually leads Henry to Mark Frame (Joel Edgerton), an undercover officer who has been building a case against him for years with the help of Detective Senior Constable Kate Rylett (Jada Alberts).
Mark Frame is the true protagonist in The Stranger, and we see the toll the investigation takes on him. Authorities are certain Henry is responsible for the disappearance and likely death of a young boy years earlier, but he had a solid alibi when he was initially questioned. To make matters worse, there is no physical evidence linking him to the crime. Having a young boy (Cormac Wright) around the same age as the missing child, Mark has a personal stake in the investigation, which is essentially built around a Mr. Big procedure.

For those of you not up to speed on your true crime lingo, a Mr. Big procedure is a tactic used to coax a confession out of a suspected criminal by pretending to be part of a criminal organization yourself, and slowly gaining their trust over time.
With the stakes made crystal clear, The Stranger becomes a brooding exercise not in figuring out who made the child disappear, but in proving that one specific person was responsible. Henry is understandably guarded whenever anybody pries about his past, but he’s also eager to find gainful employment, something that has eluded him ever since he was convicted for an unrelated violent altercation years earlier. The supposed criminal organization recruiting him is simply biding its time until he fully lets his guard down, often reassuring him that if he ever gets into trouble, they will take care of it.

As The Stranger moves into its second and third acts, you can see the mental toll the case is taking on every officer involved in the sting operation. They know they have the right guy, but they have no evidence. They have nothing to work with aside from old traffic cameras, appointment sign-in sheets, anecdotes from bystanders in the area, and witness testimonials. They know Henry committed the crime, but if he’s not absolutely dead to rights when they bring him in, he walks. Mark knows this, and so does Kate Rylett.
The tension comes from knowing what they know and watching them bide their time until they finally have enough evidence to lock Henry Peter Teague up for good. The problem is that everybody is at their wits’ end after spending years on the case trying to bring the right man to justice. Everybody has a trigger finger and wants to use it. Everybody wants to heroically slap cuffs on the man who they believe, without a sliver of doubt, is the guilty party, but they need to exercise restraint if they want the operation to succeed.

One of the finest examples of how a slow-burn crime thriller can push you to your breaking point, The Stranger is currently available to stream on Netflix.
Bridgerton is returning for a fifth season but not every cast member is confirmed to reprise their role.
Bridgerton, which is based on the book series written by Julia Quinn, centers around members of the wealthy Bridgerton family as they search for love in 19th century London. Season 1 followed Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset’s (Regé-Jean Page) romance, who were the central couple in the first book, The Duke and I.
Season 2, meanwhile, took inspiration from The Viscount Who Loved Me, which followed Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) finding love with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). Despite Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) being the subject of the third novel — An Offer From a Gentleman — his love story with newcomer Sophie (Yerin Ha) was pushed to season 4.
Instead, the third season focused on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) as seen in Quinn’s book Romancing Mister Bridgerton.
Showrunner Jess Brownell confirmed in January 2026 that Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Phillip Crane (Chris Fulton) or Francesca (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela (Masali Baduza) are next in line. The suspense has kept readers on their toes — as has former cast members stepping away from the show.
Page became the most memorable exit when he chose to wrap up one season in. While Bridgerton didn’t recast Simon, Page has stood by his decision not to return. Dynevor later confirmed her own exit from the series, which didn’t appear to be her choice.
The cast has continued to evolve as new leads took over. Keep scrolling to see which Bridgerton characters are returning — and which aren’t — in season 5:

Regardless if Eloise is or isn’t the season 5 lead, she will be a major character on the show.

Francesca is another key role that will be front and center despite the focus of season 5.

After getting extended screen time in season 4, Michaela is now a major player on Bridgerton.
While Chris Fulton hasn’t returned as Phillip Crane since season 2, the character is expected to either lead season 5 or have a big presence leading up to Eloise’s love story.

Despite his season coming to an end, Benedict has a key role in Eloise’s story and will likely be a large part of season 5 regardless.

The same goes for Benedict’s now-wife, Sophie, after Yerin Ha confirmed exclusively to Us Weekly that she was expecting to reprise her role.

With Jonathan Bailey’s screen time getting shorter and shorter, it isn’t clear what the show’s plans are for Anthony.

Simone Ashley has also showed support for Kate to return but she has been largely absent since season 2.

Colin is probably coming back in season 5 but not in the same way he was featured in past seasons.

The question about how Penelope will be involved in the show has been asked since Lady Whistledown was taken over by someone else.

John isn’t coming back after he was killed off based on Julia Quinn’s novel.

The actress’ role has gotten larger as the show builds up to Hyacinth taking the lead.

The same can be said for Will Tilston, who is playing Gregory a.k.a the next lead after Eloise and Francesca.

Daphne hasn’t been part of the show since season 2.

Phoebe Dyenvor’s onscreen love interest Regé-Jean Page, meanwhile, exited the show in season 1 and hasn’t been back.

Despite the real Queen Charlotte’s death in 1818, showrunner Jess Brownell confirmed the show would get creative to keep Golda Rosheuvel on the show.
When Penelope’s identity as Whistledown was a secret, iconic film actress Julie Andrews did the voiceover for the character. Season 3 shook things up by having Penelope take that over after revealing she was behind the Whistledown columns but Andrews remained as the voice in season 4. The same can be said for the new author of Whistledown, who Andrews voiced with a bit of a vocal difference.

Lady Danbury may have left London but Adjoa Andoh hasn’t left the show.

Violet is a continued presence as each of her kids find love.

The race for Best Actor at the upcoming Academy Awards is suddenly turning into one of the most unpredictable showdowns in recent memory.
For months, Timothée Chalamet looked unstoppable thanks to his performance in “Marty Supreme.” However, as the final round of voting closes, the mood in Hollywood appears to be shifting.
Rivals are gaining ground, industry chatter is growing louder, and a quiet push among insiders is raising a controversial question: Is the industry starting to turn on Chalamet?
Article continues below advertisement

Throughout most of the awards season, Timothée Chalamet appeared to be the clear favorite to take home Best Actor.
His performance in “Marty Supreme,” a commercially successful ping-pong drama, positioned him as the star to beat. Momentum grew even stronger earlier in the season when the actor picked up a major win at the Golden Globe Awards in January.
During that moment on stage, he also acknowledged his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, further placing him at the center of Hollywood attention.
At that point, many observers believed the 30-year-old was on track for an easy victory at the Oscars.
After all, the nomination marks the third time Chalamet has been recognized by the Academy, following nods for “Call Me By Your Name” and “A Complete Unknown.”
Article continues below advertisement
However, recent developments suggest the race is far from settled. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Industry watchers now believe the final days before the Oscars could dramatically reshape the outcome.
Article continues below advertisement

One of the biggest shifts in the race comes from Michael B. Jordan, whose momentum has surged in the final stretch of the awards season.
Jordan’s performance as twin brothers Smoke and Stack in “Sinners” has suddenly gained strong backing among voters.
The turning point came when he won Best Actor at the Actors Awards, where he delivered an emotional speech that resonated with the room.
The reaction inside the ceremony reportedly made the shift in support clear. Presenter Viola Davis was said to have shouted with excitement when Jordan’s name was revealed.
Jordan also benefited from a wave of sympathy after a troubling moment at the BAFTA Awards ceremony.
While he and co-star Delroy Lindo presented an award, Tourette’s Syndrome campaigner John Davidson shouted a racial slur from the audience.

The incident sparked anger across Hollywood, particularly toward the BBC, which allowed the moment to air despite the broadcast delay.
Many insiders believe the situation created additional goodwill toward Jordan within the industry.

While Chalamet remains the statistical favorite, his campaign strategy is becoming a topic of debate among Academy voters.
Unlike traditional awards campaigns, which often involve quiet networking with voters, the Hollywood star has embraced an unconventional and highly visible approach.
Instead of focusing solely on industry events, he has appeared in unexpected places. Chalamet reportedly showed up at look-alike contests inspired by himself and made appearances in music videos.
He has also spent time playing basketball with Adam Sandler and interacting with high school students in Los Angeles.
Chalamet has largely avoided the standard awards-season interview circuit. Instead, he has opted for unconventional conversations with podcaster Theo Von and professional wrestler Cody Rhodes.
At the same time, promotional efforts for “Marty Supreme” have included unusual publicity stunts, ranging from themed blimps to viral social media campaigns.
While these strategies have created major buzz around the film, some observers now question whether the approach may have alienated more traditional Academy voters.
Article continues below advertisement

In fact, a subtle backlash against the actor appears to be forming in some corners of the industry. According to insiders, a quiet “Stop Timmy” sentiment is circulating among voters who are reluctant to reward such an aggressive campaign style.
One issue repeatedly mentioned is Timothee Chalamet’s confidence on the campaign trail. Some critics believe his public persona comes across as overly self-assured.
The outlet wrote that Chalamet represents “a less comfortable path for the industry” and pointed to the actor’s bold style as a possible dividing line among voters.
Meanwhile, a prediction site reports that Chalamet’s chances have slipped slightly in recent days. While he still leads the race, his odds have fallen noticeably as support for Jordan grows.
Other contenders, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Wagner Moura, could also benefit if the anti-Chalamet momentum continues.
Article continues below advertisement

Despite the shifting narrative, Chalamet still holds a strong position in the race.
“Marty Supreme” has been a major commercial success, earning roughly $173 million worldwide, an impressive total for a film based on an original story rather than an established franchise.
If Chalamet ultimately wins Best Actor, the victory would mark a major milestone in his career. It would also make him the second-youngest winner in the category’s history.
Meanwhile, several other Oscar races are also heating up. Actress Jessie Buckley is widely predicted to win for her role in “Hamnet.”
In the supporting categories, Sean Penn has built strong momentum for “One Battle After Another.”
The supporting actress race appears far less certain, with Teyana Taylor competing closely with Amy Madigan, who received a nomination for the horror film Weapons.
With so many races tightening and the Best Actor category suddenly wide open, this year’s Oscars on March 15 could deliver one of the most suspenseful finishes the ceremony has seen in years.
