Scheana Shay Criticizes Lisa Vanderpump’s Role as a Producer on The Valley and Reveals Their Relationship Is Strained!
Scheana Shay is shedding light on where she currently stands with her former Vanderpump Rules boss Lisa Vanderpump — and it sounds like their once-close relationship has cooled off.
During an appearance on Two Ts in a Pod, the podcast hosted by Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp, Scheana, 39, was candid about her distant connection with Lisa, 64. “I don’t talk to her too often,” Scheana admitted of Lisa during the interview.
“She usually calls when she needs something.” Scheana recalled one of their most recent conversations, saying, “She had a question about a friend of mine on another show of hers, and that was pretty much it.”
Although Lisa is listed as an executive producer on The Valley, the Vanderpump Rules spinoff where Scheana is expected to make appearances in season two, the reality star claims Lisa is not actively involved in the day-to-day happenings of the show or its cast.
“She doesn’t know anything going on,” Scheana claimed. “When she found out Kristen [Doute] was pregnant, she asked if we knew who the dad was. We’re like, ‘You’re an executive producer on this show.’” She added, “She’s very much not involved, but she has her name on the show.”
Lisa, for her part, recently told Access Hollywood that she hasn’t spoken to Scheana lately, hinting at some distance between them. “I haven’t talked to Scheana,” she said, without elaborating on the reason for their lack of communication. She also claimed in an another interview that she barely talks to her.
Meanwhile, Vanderpump Rules is set to begin filming its twelfth season in early April 2025, introducing an entirely new cast.
This reboot aims to return to the show’s original concept by focusing on the dynamics among staff members at Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood establishments, SUR and TomTom.
The upcoming season will feature 14 new cast members, comprising both full-time participants and “friends of the cast.” Contracts for these new members were finalized in early March 2025.
Lisa Vanderpump, the show’s central figure, expressed enthusiasm about the fresh direction, stating, “We’re going back to the grassroots and a different set of people is kind of new and refreshing.”
Fans can also catch Scheana’s return to TV when The Valley returns with season two, premiering this summer on Bravo.
