Taylor Frankie Paul Breaks Silence After Completing Probation
Taylor Frankie Paul is speaking out after a judge ruled that the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star had successfully completed the terms of her three-year probation.
“Three years probation complete. All my [probation officers] said it was one of the longest probations they had seen for [a] first-time offense,” Paul, 32, wrote via Instagram on Friday, August 7. “Back then, I wasn’t even aware of what [domestic violence] was. Unfortunately, many will experience it as many already have.”
Us confirmed earlier on Friday that Paul was no longer on probation with a judge amending her aggravated assault felony charge to a Class A misdemeanor. She had been arrested in 2023 following an alleged altercation with then-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. At the time, Paul pleaded guilty to assault as part of a plea deal to dismiss other charges pertaining to child abuse.
“DV is a sneaky cycle to get stuck in because by the time you realize what actually is happening you’re already stuck in it,” Paul stated on Friday. “I don’t care if you see me as the villain or victim. This all surfacing the way it viciously and vindictively did, has been hell on earth and if I didn’t have the support I have I don’t think I would have made it through.”
Footage from Paul’s arrest was leaked in March, where the influencer was seen throwing chairs at Mortensen, 33, in front of her daughter, Indy. (Taylor shares Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 6, with ex-husband Tate Paul, as well as son Ever, 2, with Mortensen.)
In light of the video’s release, Taylor temporarily lost custody of Ever. She has since been awarded visitation rights from a judge, who also issued mutual protective orders to Taylor and Mortensen. (The now-exes must stay 100 feet away from each other at all times.)
“This has been a very toxic relationship. It’s beyond the pale in a lot of ways, the toxicity,” the judge said during an April hearing. “What I’ve seen from the evidence even post [the] last hearing, there seems to be a continuing attraction that they have for each other. … You guys have to figure out a lot here. You have to figure out how to function as coparents.”
According to the judge, he was initially hesitant to rule on custodial arrangements for Ever.
“I’m hoping that you’re not people who just thrive on the drama and the conflict. You’ve got to put your child first and shield the child from this conflict,” the judge stated at the time. “I’m going to leave the current order in place. I need to think a little bit more about this lifting of supervision. I have mixed feelings about it.”
Taylor and Mortensen have each vehemently denied the accusations against themselves.

Ridley Scott’s Sci-Fi Box Office Bomb Officially Redeems Itself on Streaming Ahead of Sequel
There are movies that you’re sure are going to become blockbuster hits and end up just becoming critical darlings. It’s a strange situation when you get a brilliant sci-fi film that’s also the sequel to one of the finest films ever made, and not only does it deliver on its promise, but some might say it even improves on the original. And then, for some reason, it just doesn’t land.
That was the case with Blade Runner 2049. When Denis Villeneuve’s sequel arrived in 2017, it earned near-universal critical acclaim but struggled commercially despite breathtaking visuals, extraordinary performances, and one of the most immersive worlds ever put on screen. Thankfully, though, streaming has finally begun correcting that injustice.
Set three decades after Ridley Scott’s original masterpiece, this time around we follow the LAPD officer K (Ryan Gosling), a replicant (and an actual one, despite all those conspiracy theories the first time around) whose latest investigation stumbles across something that could prove catastrophic to the powers-that-be if it were to become public knowledge. That search eventually leads him to one Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), who’s been in hiding for decades by this point.
The stacked cast also includes Ana de Armas (Ballerina) as Joi, Sylvia Hoeks (See) as Luv, Robin Wright (Here) as Lieutenant Joshi, Jared Leto (Tron: Ares) as Niander Wallace, and Dave Bautista (The Killer’s Game) as Sapper Morton.
Was ‘Blade Runner 2049’ a Success?
The film was critically acclaimed upon its release, but it was an undoubted box office disappointment. Despite grossing $276.6 million worldwide, Blade Runner 2049 fell short of expectations against a reported $150–185 million budget, which made it one of the biggest letdowns of the last decade.
Its reputation, however, has only continued to grow. The film boasts an exceptional 88% critics’ score and 81% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, while winning Academy Awards for Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects and today, it’s regularly cited among the greatest science-fiction films ever made and one of Villeneuve’s defining achievements. Villeneuve would go on to direct Dune and Dune: Part Two, with Dune: Part Three due for release this year. He will also direct the next James Bond film, so it’s fair to say that the disappointment of Blade Runner 2049 hasn’t hurt the genius.
Blade Runner 2049 is streaming on Paramount+.

Former PGA Tour Golfer Was 45
Former PGA Tour golfer Matt McQuillan has died. He was 45.
“It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Matthew Justin McQuillan (Matty to most).
He passed away at KGH Wednesday August 5, 2026, surrounded by family,” an obituary shared in The Kingston Whig Standard reads. “Matty was a respected golfer, devoted son, hilarious brother and friend.”
A cause of death has not been publicly revealed at the time of publication.
McQuillan is survived by his family, including father Mark, who kickstarted the professional athlete’s love of golf.
“His father, Mark, started teaching him how to swing the club at the young age of ten and his passion and talent grew immensely,” the obituary continued. “Starting as a junior on the Canadian Tour and making it to the PGA in 2011, Matt developed lifelong friendships while mentoring anyone who loved the game of golf.”
The statement concluded, “He will be deeply missed by many and his spirit, love and compassion will be remembered every day. Rest easy, Matty. We love you.”
The Kingston Whig-Standard, a newspaper in McQuillan’s hometown of Ontario, Canada, published a longer obituary in honor of the former golf star via its website.
“Whether on the course or in everyday life, he had a remarkable ability to bring people together, offering encouragement, laughter and genuine friendship to everyone he met,” McQuillan’s family wrote. “His welcoming personality and unwavering kindness made him a beloved figure within Kingston’s golfing community and beyond. Friends who shared rounds with him remember his enthusiasm, positive attitude and appreciation for every moment spent on the course.”
His relatives added, “[Matt] celebrated the successes of others as readily as his own and was always willing to encourage fellow golfers, regardless of their skill level.”
McQuillan, who turned pro in 2003, earned his PGA Tour card through the 2010 PGA Tour Q-School, competing in the tournaments throughout the 2011 season. The golfer memorably finished in third place at the 2011 John Deere Classic.
“It’s still a little hard to believe that I’m part of the PGA Tour,” he wrote in a ScoreGolf essay after his 2011 PGA Tour debut. “The three months since I earned my card at qualifying school have been overwhelming at times, but this is a great job and I’m lucky to be here. Even though the golf hasn’t gone as well as I’ve wanted, my focus is on staying patient and remaining confident.”
In the years after stepping away from professional golf, McQuillan served as a golf instructor in his hometown.

After 63 Years, ‘Doctor Who’ Has Never Topped This 5-Word Quote
Like any iconic science fiction franchise, Doctor Who has developed certain traits that make it stand out from the pack. The Doctor often travels through time and space in the TARDIS, encountering alien forces along the way. More often than not, a series of companions will join the Doctor and find their lives irrevocably changed. Every so often, the Doctor will regenerate into a new form, giving a new actor the chance to put their mark on the iconic character. But the best part of Doctor Who was established with five words in the iconic episode, “Genesis of the Daleks.”
In “Genesis of the Daleks,” the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) is charged by the Time Lords to travel to the home planet of his most nefarious foes, the Daleks, and wipe them out of existence. This leads to a tense moment between the Fourth Doctor and his companion, Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen), after he rigs the Daleks’ incubation room with explosives; hesitating before he can touch together a set of wires and set off the explosions, the Doctor asks Sarah Jane, “Do I have the right?” In a single sentence, Doctor Who added a new layer of meaning to its story and its protagonist.
‘Genesis of the Daleks’ Established The Doctor’s Morality
“Genesis of the Daleks” stands out as one of the most morally complex episodes of Doctor Who, especially when it comes to the Daleks. While previous episodes of Doctor Who established them as some of the most evil beings in the universe, “Genesis of the Daleks” shows that their creator, Davros, designed them to be weapons of war. There’s also the revelation that their home planet Skaro was ravaged by civil war, leading to the acceleration of the Daleks’ creation. Even the Doctor doesn’t escape unscathed; after seeing the horror Davros is capable of, he decides to set off the explosives… but is beaten to the punch as one Dalek accidentally triggers them and buries his future enemy in a cave. “Genesis of the Daleks” is the kind of sci-fi story that lingers with you long after its credits roll, and that’s an approach that was needed for such a heavy topic.
With the “Do I have the right?” speech, “Genesis of the Daleks” also underlined that the Doctor seeks a peaceful resolution to his conflicts. Throughout his discussion with Sarah Jane, the Doctor argues that if he triggers the explosives and kills the Daleks, he’d be participating in the same kind of evil that they’ll eventually embrace. It also draws a hard line between the Doctor and the rest of the Time Lords, showcasing that he chooses to embrace pacifism while they’re willing to solve the problems facing the universe by any means necessary. Whether it’s his sonic screwdriver, psychic paper, or quick thinking, the Doctor will find a way to save everyone he can.
The ‘Doctor Who’ Revival Reshaped The Doctor’s Rivalry with the Daleks
The fallout of “Genesis of the Daleks” continued to affect Doctor Who, especially in the second series that started airing in 2005. During the episode “Dalek,” it’s revealed that Christopher Eccleston‘s Ninth Doctor is the last survivor of the “Time War,” which saw the entirety of the Daleks and the Time Lords wiped out. Therefore, the Doctor is horrified to discover that a lone Dalek survivedand wants it destroyed; only after Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) touches the Dalek does it show a measure of mercy and winds up killing itself. Writer Rob Shearman said that he and showrunner Russell T. Davies wanted to deliver an emotional hour of television:
“Russell wanted to make it an emotional episode, something that doesn’t rely on people running down corridors…I decided to take all those things people find funny about the Daleks and turn them into something people would find memorable. This is also the first time we’ll see inside the Dalek.”
The two-parter “The Magician’s Apprentice” and “The Witch’s Familiar” takes things one step further with Peter Capaldi‘s Twelfth Doctor encountering a younger version of Davros, and subsequently abandoning him; the guilt starts to eat at the Doctor once he learns Davros is dying. In both of these cases, Doctor Who showcases how the Doctor has changed over the years, but his questioning of whether he has the right to wipe out an entire race has shaped his actions.

Chris Brown Files Docs To Block Ex-Housekeeper From Royalties
Chris Brown filed documents to keep his former housekeeper away from his tour royalties. The ‘Residuals’ singer was ordered to pay Maria Avila $13 million after she won a lawsuit claiming his dog attacked her back in 2020.

Chris Brown Files Court Documents To Protect Tour Royalties
Chris Brown recently filed documents to prevent his former housekeeper away from his tour royalties, according to TMZ. The ‘Residuals’ singer was ordered to pay Maria Avila $13 million last month after she won a lawsuit claiming his dog attacked her back in 2020.
Brown is reportedly asking the court to block Avila from collecting her $13 million lawsuit judgement from his tour royalties and future earnings. Avila is reportedly attempting to have dibs on all of Brown’s present and future income until the judgement is settled.
Brown’s Dog Mauled Avila At His Home In 2020
Avila filed a lawsuit against Brown after his 200-pound shepherd, Hades, attacked her outside the ‘Loyal’ singer’s home in Tarzana, California.
Avila says she was taking out the trash when Brown’s dog attacked her. According to Rolling Stone, she told the court during the trial that she suffered from PTSD. Not only that, she reportedly has severe scarring on her left arm and face. Furthermore, Avila had skin-graft surgery on her left arm.
Nonetheless, she was left with raised and pitted skin, scars on her forehead and under her eye.
Brown testified he’d warned Avila not to go outside without his security guards because Hades was a guard dog. Furthermore, he warned that he was unfriendly. He also described seeing Avila lying outside his front door on the walkway bloodied.
“The blood kind of freaked me out,” he recalled.
Fan This Brown Reacted To Avila’s Court Request
On Wednesday, July 29, Brown shared a post in his Instagram Stories that fans believe was a response to Avila’s claim.
“Life gonna always push and pull you in different directions,” he wrote. “JUST REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE! Trust the process.”
His dog Hades was reportedly euthanized following the attack.

Amanda Kloots Says DWTS Contestants Reach Out ‘Every Year’
Amanda Kloots may have hung up her ballroom shoes, but she’s always one to give advice to new contestants on Dancing With the Stars.
“I know a couple people [joining season 35] but that’s only because — it’s funny, people reach out when they’re like, ‘I’m thinking about doing this show. Should I do it?’” Kloots, 44, exclusively told Us while promoting her “Good Grief with Amanda Kloots” podcast. “I’m always like, ‘Yes, yes, you should do it. It’ll be the best, hardest thing you do, but it’ll be the best thing you ever do. I promise you, you will not regret it.’”
Kloots played coy about who reached out to her about the show, which has confirmed four contestants: Love Island’s Maura Higgins, Summer House star Ciara Miller, Savannah Bananas’ Jackson Olson and Jimmy Kimmel’s sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez. ABC has yet to disclose more celebrities or pros competing on the series, which is set to premiere on September 15.
“Pretty much every year after I’ve done the show, I’ve had somebody reach out going, ‘OK, did you really like this? Did you really have a good time?’ And I’m always like, ‘If you do not sign up for that show, you’re really missing the boat,’” she said.
Kloots appeared on season 30 of the hit ABC competition show, where she was partnered with Alan Bersten. The pair ultimately placed fourth and lost to champions Iman Shumpert and pro Daniella Karagach. Kloots, however, would be game to try her hand at an all-star season.
“I would be there. I’m sure [casting director and executive producer] Deena Katz and ABC know that I would be there in a heartbeat,” she told Us. “I mean, it would be a dream come true. I’m so proud of that show.”

Kloots went on to gush about the series recently receiving an Emmy nomination, which she said was “so well deserved” given its “wonderful atmosphere.”
“Everybody’s rooting for each other,” she said. “There’s no jealousy or cattiness or fights or mean spirited. Everybody’s there to help each other. It’s such a wonderful experience. I would love to go back.”
While not quite an all-star season, Kloots did return to the ballroom for DWTS Con in Palm Springs earlier this month and performed a number alongside Bersten, 32, and former champ Hannah Brown.
“It was so fun, oh my gosh!” Kloots said. “I love that show so much and dancing has always been a part of my life. But then I packed my shoes away. When I got to do that show, it was such a part of my healing journey. I am forever grateful. So to be back with that family — and I say family because they are all those pros are incredible and they now have children. Everybody’s in the dressing room and playing with everybody, and they’re all so kind and so supportive and they work so hard. Then all the celebrities that came back are like me, they just love this show so much and have been so grateful to be a part of it. It’s just sort of like this big love fest amidst this crazy dancing.”

Days after appearing at the fan convention, Kloots launched the “Good Grief With Amanda Kloots” podcast with Dear Media. Kloots, whose husband Nick Cordero died in 2020 after facing COVID-19 complications, hopes to feature candid conversations about facing significant changes in life. (Kloots and Cordero shared son Elvis, whom they welcomed in 2019.)
“It’s been six years since I lost my husband. I do a lot of therapy, from science-backed therapy to very woo-woo — I live in Los Angeles, so I’ve done almost all of it,” she shared. “It was in this last year that I had this kind of turnaround in therapy with my relationship to grief.”
Kloots explained that she helps “a lot of widows” who she takes “under [her] wing and try to help because widows did that” for her when she was “newly grieving.”
“We all talk about how to survive grief in the beginning, but we don’t really talk about the beauty and the things that grief can teach us because we live with it,” she noted. “We live with it for the rest of our lives. It isn’t going anywhere, which was my misconception. I thought I could heal it, and I’d get my graduate certificate. And it isn’t that. It’s how you learn to live with it, and most importantly, how you can learn to love yourself again in this grief. So that’s hopefully the message of the podcast.”

Anthony Michael Hall Reveals John Hughes Had Plans for a Breakfast Club Sequel
More than 40 years after The Breakfast Club first brought five very different teenagers together for a Saturday detention, Anthony Michael Hall has revealed that director John Hughes once envisioned bringing the group back together as adults.
Hall, who played Brian Johnson, “the brain,” in the beloved 1985 film, recently recalled one of his final conversations with Hughes. During that conversation, the filmmaker reportedly discussed an idea for a sequel that would reunite Brian, Claire, Bender, Allison and Andrew years after their unforgettable day at Shermer High School.
According to Hall, Hughes imagined catching up with the characters when they were in their 30s and had entered the working world.
“He was talking about the idea of doing a sequel and having us all be in our 30s and in the workplace,” Hall recalled.
The concept would have offered a fascinating continuation of the original film. The Breakfast Club centered on five students from completely different social circles who slowly discovered that the labels placed on them did not tell the full story of who they were.
Hall starred alongside Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy and Emilio Estevez, portraying the brain, princess, criminal, basket case and athlete respectively.
Ashlee Rezin/Sun-Times
Rather than simply repeating the detention setup, Hughes’ proposed sequel could have explored how those same characters changed as they entered adulthood. The pressures of popularity, parents and high school expectations could have been replaced by careers, relationships and the realities of adult life.
Unfortunately, the movie never materialized.
Hall said the conversation took place around 1988 and also included John Candy, another frequent Hughes collaborator. It remains unclear how far Hughes ever developed the idea or whether a completed screenplay exists.
The revelation is particularly interesting because talk of another Breakfast Club movie has surfaced several times over the years. Molly Ringwald previously suggested she had heard that Hughes had written some form of follow-up, while other reports have claimed the filmmaker considered different ways of revisiting the characters.
Hughes died in 2009 at the age of 59, leaving any potential continuation without the filmmaker who created the original.
Despite never receiving a sequel, The Breakfast Club has maintained an enormous cultural presence since its release on February 15, 1985. Made for roughly $1 million, the movie earned more than $50 million worldwide and became one of the defining coming-of-age films of the 1980s.
The Breakfast Club [universal pictures]
The five principal cast members also reunited publicly in 2025 for the movie’s 40th anniversary at C2E2 in Chicago, marking the first time Hall, Ringwald, Nelson, Sheedy and Estevez had all appeared together at the same convention.
Whether Hollywood would ever attempt a modern continuation remains unknown. There is currently no officially announced Breakfast Club sequel in development.
Still, Hall’s story offers fans a glimpse at what might have been. Instead of leaving Brian, Claire, Bender, Allison and Andrew behind in that library, Hughes apparently wondered the same thing audiences have wondered for decades:
What happened to the Breakfast Club after detention ended?

Naomi Watts Uses Dior’s Forever Skin Concealer — At Nordstrom

When Naomi Watts shares the beauty products behind her radiant complexion, it’s worth taking note. One staple in her makeup routine is the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer, a creamy formula that delivers full coverage while maintaining a natural, skin-like finish. The actress’ Met Gala makeup look relied on the concealer, as it brightened and perfected her complexion.
What makes the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer stand out is its ability to deliver full coverage without looking or feeling heavy. The creamy formula effortlessly camouflages dark circles, redness, discoloration and blemishes while maintaining a natural, skin-like finish that never appears flat or mask-like. Better yet, it’s buildable, so you can apply a sheer layer for everyday wear or add more in targeted areas without worrying about it becoming cakey.
Get the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer for $42 at Nordstrom! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.
The skincare-infused formula is another reason it’s become such a cult favorite. Dior formulated the concealer with floral extracts to help keep skin feeling hydrated and comfortable throughout the day, making it especially appealing for anyone with dry or mature skin. Instead of emphasizing texture or settling into fine lines as the hours pass, it maintains a fresh, radiant look that leaves the complexion appearing smoother and more awake.
Application is just as effortless thanks to its oversized doe-foot applicator. The plush wand deposits enough product to quickly cover larger areas like under the eyes, around the nose and across the chin while still allowing for precise spot concealing. Many beauty lovers even skip foundation altogether, using a few strategically placed swipes of the concealer wherever they want extra coverage before blending with a sponge, brush or fingertips for an incredibly natural finish.
One mature-skinned Nordstrom shopper said “covers all my dark spots,” while another said it “gives a natural look” and is “very blendable.”
Whether you’re looking to camouflage dark circles, cover discoloration or simply achieve a more even-looking complexion, the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer lives up to its cult-favorite status.

‘Reacher’ Is Officially Moving Away From Its Winning Formula With Season 5’s Book
Reacher Season 4 is about to debut on Prime Video, but fans already know which of Lee Child‘s books Season 5 will adapt. This news, accompanied by the announcement that Season 5 has officially begun production, confirms that Reacher will be breaking away from the formula previously established by recent seasons. Based on the book’s plot alone, it has the potential to be the show’s darkest storyline yet for its lead, played by Alan Ritchson.
What Is ‘Make Me’ About?
Make Me, the twentieth book in Child’s Jack Reacher series, opens with the wayward Reacher arriving in a small Midwestern town — the name of which, Mother’s Rest, immediately piques his interest. After receiving strange treatment from the locals, Reacher senses that something is amiss and tries to figure out what’s really going on. He soon uncovers a dark, macabre mystery unlike anything he has faced in previous adventures. Without getting into spoilers, Make Me features a very intense plot, as Reacher investigates unsavory activities in Mother’s Rest.
‘Reacher’ Season 5 Is Making a Major Change for the Series
Make Me revolves around a plot that’s very different from the books previously adapted for Reacher. The first three seasons of the show have included very personal stakes for the titular lead, including the murder of Reacher’s older brother, Joe (Christopher Russell), the deaths of some of his former teammates in the 110th Special Investigations Unit, and the murder of his first protégé, Dominique Kohl (Mariah Robinson).
Across every season of Reacher that has aired to date, Reacher gets involved in exacting vengeance for the death of a friend or loved one, but Make Me doesn’t feature those same personal stakes. When Reacher arrives in town and recognizes something is wrong, he simply takes it upon himself to seek justice. Additionally, the small-town Midwestern setting sets Make Me apart from previous seasons, distinguishing Season 5 from a sweltering Georgia in Season 1, New York City and Atlantic City in Season 2, coastal Maine in Season 3, and Philadelphia in Season 4. Reacher consistently benefits from switching up locations each season, and Season 5 will maintain that tradition.
‘Make Me’ Is Another Standalone Reacher Story
Make Me may represent a diversion from the winning formula of Reacher’s first three seasons, as it doesn’t involve the eponymous hero carrying out a personal vendetta, but Season 5 will still revolve around another standalone adventure. Make Me is actually the twentieth Jack Reacher installment written by Child, but many of the books can be read in any order. For example, Reacher Season 4 is adapted from the thirteenth book, Gone Tomorrow, so the Prime Video series is now jumping ahead in the novels’ timeline.
Reacher generally avoids serialized elements and recurring characters, aside from Francis Neagley (Maria Sten), who pops up frequently within the first three seasons, as well as a brief cameo from Malcolm Goodwin‘s Detective Oscar Finlay in Season 2. Despite those aforementioned moments, the beauty of Reacher‘s storytelling comes from tightly focused storylines that aren’t necessarily concerned about building to future seasons. 2026 already marks a major year for the franchise, with Season 4 set to premiere on August 12 on Prime Video. After Season 4 concludes, Neagley, the franchise’s first-ever spin-off, debuts on September 16, with Ritchson reprising his role as a guest star opposite Sten as Neagley.
