Teddi Mellencamp Shares Dad John’s Reaction to Her Masked Singer Stint
Teddi Mellencamp has one of the most iconic last names in music, so it’s no surprise that she turned to her famous father, John Mellencamp, for advice before taking on The Masked Singer.
“My dad said, ‘Just sing loud and proud, and if you don’t hit a note, you don’t hit a note, but as long as you’re giving it your all, that’s what matters,’” the former Bravo star, 44, exclusively told Us Weekly after her unmasking during the Wednesday, February 4, episode of the Fox singing competition. “And so that’s what I was doing.”
Teddi didn’t initially tell John, 74, that she’d landed a gig on The Masked Singer, but when it came time to show off her pipes, she decided it was time to ask the Grammy winner for some tips.
“Once I was singing a song, then I talked to him about it. I needed advice,” she. “He’s like, ‘Don’t go out there trying to think that you’re a singer. Just go out there and sing the song the way you would if you were singing along. Have fun.’”
The advice seems to have worked, because Teddi blew the judges away with her performances of Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” and her dad’s “Jack & Diane.” The former song, she explained, has become “an anthem” for her as she battles stage IV melanoma. (A scan in October 2025 showed “no detectable cancer,” but Teddi explained on her podcast last month that she’s still considered stage IV while she remains on immunotherapy.)
“I’m probably even going to get emotional talking about it,” Teddi said of Platten’s inspiring track. “I’m almost a year [after] having all my cancer surgeries, but it’s been a fight, and I wanted to be able to share the softer side, but also [show] you can work really hard and do the things that you want to do still.”
As for the second song, John’s 1982 No. 1 hit, Teddi initially didn’t think it was an option to even sing one of her dad’s songs because of who owned the rights. When she realized his masters had been sold, however, his catalog was on the table, and she was willing to give it a shot.

When Teddi spoke to Us, her dad hadn’t yet seen her take on “Jack & Diane” — he was planning to come over and watch with her so she could get “nice and embarrassed” — but he previously expressed his approval for her “Fight Song” performance.
“He thought the first episode was great,” she told Us. “I mean, he’s my dad, so it’s different. But he was like, ‘I thought you were great.’”
Tuning into The Masked Singer is apparently always a family affair in the Mellencamp household, no matter who’s under the costume. As Teddi said in Calla Lily’s first clue package, she wanted to do the show for her kids, who love the show. (She shares Slate, 13, Cruz, 11, and Dove, 5, with ex Edwin Arroyave.)

“My kids have seen me in a situation where I was recovering from brain surgery, and I wanted them to know that there’s life after that,” she explained. “And once you’re feeling better, you can push yourself and you can try new things. So, that was part of the reason that I wanted to do The Masked Singer, but the other part was because it’s my kids’ favorite show.”
The kids didn’t know in advance that their mom was on the show, but she said they figured it out as soon as they heard her voice because she always sings in the car.
“I was like, ‘How do you know?’ Because I wanted to wait [to tell them],” she recalled. “And they were like, ‘Don’t even try to fool us. We know.’”
They were then “so worried” that their mom would go home first, but that didn’t happen: She notched two performances before Calla Lily’s run came to an end despite being so nervous that she found herself shaking on stage.
“I just was like, ‘You’ve got to do this. There’s no choice,’” Teddi recalled telling herself. “You’ve just got to fight through the nerves and remember the words and sing loud.”
Teddi has been fighting hard for the past year, sharing raw insights about her health journey on her “Two T’s in a Pod” podcast, which she cohosts with The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Tamra Judge. Listeners may come expecting reality TV gossip, but Teddi hasn’t shied away from discussing the serious topic of her treatment, in part because she thinks it would be “impossible” for fans not to notice something was going on.
“You can hear the way that my voice has changed throughout the time. You can see my personality change. And I’m aware of it,” Teddi explained. “When you have brain surgery, there’s so many things affected, and I didn’t want to feel ashamed by it. So, I just wanted to talk about it and make other people not feel alone. But also, if I talk about it, then I’m less nervous about it, then I can just go along being me. I’m not trying to hide something like, ‘Hey, guys, I’m really shaky today,’ or, ‘You might notice my voice sounds funny.’”
She added, “It’s one of the side effects of one of the treatments I’m going through, and just kind of letting people know that you’re not alone. I think so many people talk about the physical aspect of having cancer, but the mental aspect has kind of been forgotten. So, as much as I can talk about that, I do.”
Just last month, Teddi opened up about starting therapy to help process all that she’s been through between her cancer battle and her divorce from Arroyave, 48.
“It’s really hard for me to tap into my feelings, because I think I’ve put up a wall,” she shared with Us. “I was so scared of what happened that I didn’t want to really dig into it and get into those emotions, but now that I have, it’s like the floodgates are open. It’s definitely been helping, because I think that when you go through a trauma and you’re just trying to white-knuckle it the whole time, it’s gonna come around. And when it came around, I was completely shocked.”
The Masked Singer, she said, helped remind her that she can keep going.
“You become such a creature of habit when you’re healing,” she said. “I’m home. I do my podcast from the house. I’m not allowed to drive yet, so my podcast room is 15 steps from where my bedroom is. It’s like everything is in one area. Being able to get out there and do that was something that showed me I can do hard things.”

Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez’s wedding didn’t exactly go off without a hitch.
According to Blanco during his Thursday, February 26, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Gomez was left in tears after misplacing her handwritten vows less than a week before the couple were scheduled to tie the knot.
“She was crying because she couldn’t find [them],” Blanco, 37, told host Jimmy Kimmel, explaining the vows were “lost” for about four or five days.
Blanco ultimately saved the day by finding the vows just in the nick of time, he told Kimmel.
“I found them, right before the wedding!” he said. “I didn’t look. I closed my eyes and handed them to her. I swear! I swear I didn’t look.”
The music producer then joked that discovering the important lost item made him look like a hero to Gomez, 33.
“But how good is it? It made me look so good,” Blanco said. “It was like the best thing I could have done. I’m about to marry her and then I find the thing?”
Gomez married Blanco in late September 2025 in a star-studded ceremony held in Santa Barbara, California.
“Everyone there was sobbing, and it was extremely emotional,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly of the pair’s nuptials at the time, adding that Gomez “bawled her eyes out” when Blanco recited his heartfelt vows. “The wedding was pretty simple and not your typical ‘celebrity’ lavish wedding.”
According to the insider, Gomez and Blanco “just wanted to dance and have fun” throughout the evening. The source added, “You could feel so much love from them.”

The couple publicly shared the news of their engagement at the tail end of 2024 after more than a year of dating.
“Forever begins now,” Gomez captioned an Instagram post on December 11, 2024, which contained an image that showed off her engagement ring.
For his part, Blanco celebrated the relationship milestone by writing in the comments section, “Hey wait… that’s my wife.”

Blanco explained in the interview that their yin-and-yang personalities complement each other.
“It’s so good because I get her out, and she calms me down when I need it,” Blanco gushed. “She’s the first person that I’ve been with where I’m like, ‘I don’t even give a f**k what’s going on. I could sit in this bed with you for 72 hours and feel like I didn’t miss anything.’ She’s like my f**king heroin and Xanax combined.”
Gomez added that she was the first one to fall head over heels while spending time with Blanco.

In Between 7 ‘Scream’ Movies, Courteney Cox Starred in This 89% RT Cult Classic Comedy
While Friends will forever be how the world knows about Courteney Cox, the Scream franchise is surely a close second. Since 1996, the actress has starred in seven nail-biting slasher movies, including the latest, Scream 7, which is coming to theaters on February 27, 2026. But while those two projects from Cox have received worldwide attention, one of her past TV shows only reached a smaller, yet equally dedicated cult following instead.
From 2009 to 2015, Cox was the lead in Cougar Town, an ABC-turned-TBS series created by Shrinking‘s very own Bill Lawrence. What Is ‘Cougar Town’ About?
Cougar Town follows Cox as Jules Cobb, a divorced realtor who starts to dabble with the idea of dating younger men, hence the title. Soon after, however, the series quickly abandoned that plot, and became more about the wonderful, quirky friendships and family dynamics rather than actually an exploration of age-gap relationships. ‘Cougar Town’ Sees Courteney Cox at Her Best
While Cox was certainly a big part of making Friends and the Scream as successful as they are, her role in Cougar Town is her best to date. With the leading role all to herself this time around, the series showcased her range more than Friends ever did, and she’s the driving force of the series from beginning to end. With that comes incredible chemistry with each of the characters, like her steamy connection with Grayson, her maternal side with Travis, and the TV magic between her and Miller’s character. For her role, Cox got the award recognition she’s long deserved, including her first Golden Globe nomination in 2010 and her first Critics Choice Award in 2011.

Fire Country returned with a midseason twist when a surprise character revealed they were at fault for Vince’s death.
The Friday, February 27, episode of the hit CBS show ended with Tyler (Conor Sherry) confessing that he was responsible for the fire that caused Bode’s (Max Thieriot) dad Vince’s (Billy Burke) death.
This came as a shock considering Tyler’s stepdad Landon (Josh McDermitt) was previously questioned — and presumed to be at fault — for arson. Before the show’s midseason return, showrunner Tia Napolitano hinted that the show’s story will be going through some changes.
“[You should] be worried [about the rest of the season]. We’ve got Bode and Tyler in a fire shelter in the middle of a blaze. Those things are built for one, there’s two lives in there,” Napolitano exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2025, one month before her departure from the CBS series was announced. “And we’ve got Jake and his brother over the side of a cliff. You see how many times that vehicle goes over and over. We see heads hit hard surfaces.”

Napolitano teased that “those are not easy things to come back” from, adding, “We’ll watch our people fight to get out of there.” She also revealed there is a “huge twist” coming in the midseason premiere, which airs on February 27.
“It’s going to change everything that hugely impacts Bode. He is going to really fight to continue to be on his path to progress and growth that we love to see him on. He has made those good choices — though he still struggles — and winning those struggles and really becoming someone who can continue to be someone Tyler wants to grow up to be,” she said. “Bode is a role model. Look how far we have come.”
She continued: “Eve is going to find her way with these new guys at Three Roc. Sharon is learning even more so how to stand on her own. Ruby — her mother — comes back. There’s a lot of surprises, twists and turns and drive coming out of that twist that comes at the end of the midseason premiere.”
Fire Country previously went through a shakeup when news broke in April 2025 that budget cuts led to Burke, 58, and Stephanie Arcila’s exits. (Burke has yet to address his departure.)
“I had no idea ever. But at the same time, I know that this is the nature of the industry that I’m in, and I have accepted the flow of release and acceptance throughout my journey and knowing that when one door closes, another one always opens,” Arcila, 35, exclusively told Us in April. “We have this beautiful eternal door of revolving desires in what we love in life. I believe that if we put resistance towards that, sometimes it stops us from fulfilling other things that we love.”
Napolitano, meanwhile, defended the decision.

“It’s a fire show. Anyone can go at any time,” she told Us in October. “But in terms of losing people, we’re also adding some really fun guest cast. It’s a revolving door of people from Sharon’s past and new faces that are exciting to bring conflict and secrets and twists and turns.”
Napolitano teased how the show will have to balance “really spicing it up” while still walking a “fine line” of paying tribute to the loss.
“What we’ve done is really thread the needle of honoring — especially Vince — because Gabriella is gone, but she’s gone to a happy and successful life. She’s still out there. But we really walk this line of honoring Vince while also finding hope rather quickly,” she noted. “Looking forward, the theme of the season is rising from the ashes and recovery.”
Napolitano continued: “How do you recover from something like this? And we’re really going to see everybody rise to the occasion, in celebration of Vince, of his life and in honoring the sacrifice that he made.”

On Thursday, actor Jim Carrey stepped out in Paris for the César Awards, which are considered France’s highest film honors.

Upon receiving the award, Carrey delivered an emotional speech in French, which left everyone surprised and impressed.
“As an actor, each character you play is like clay in the sculptor’s hands, which you shape to your heart’s desire,” Carrey told attendees, per reports.
He continued, “How fortunate I have been to share this art with so many people who have truly opened their hearts to me.”
Carrey also opened up about his family roots, revealing that his ancestor, Marc-François Carré, was born in Saint-Malo, France, before emigrating to Canada centuries ago.

Jim Carrey Is Open To Reprising His Role In ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 4’
Over the past decade, Carrey has significantly slowed his acting output, even announcing in 2022 that he was stepping away from Hollywood after starring in “Sonic the Hedgehog 2.”

We’re told Shia cares immensely for and still sees their daughter Isabel … even though he lives in New Orleans to take care of his family. The source claimed Shia was present for his daughter when Mia was busy with work. Sources close to Mia scoff at the suggestion her work had any role in the relationship ending.
A source close to Shia said he did everything to save the relationship, including taking vacations and finding religion. One friend said Shia became more religious after his breakup with FKA Twigs.
The source said Mia cares for Shia, but does not want to be married to him. Mia’s inner circle claims Shia was the problem — especially his drinking. They believe Mia cares for the actor, but she didn’t feel like he was capable of becoming a better person or working on his issues.

Over on X, a post began circulating about Lil Durk’s recent court case. The message was full of claims about Lil Durk’s court hearing along with allegations about his relationship with India.
The now-viral post read:“When it gets dark, the world turns against you. They’re saying Lil Durk is starting to feel the weight of it all. His girl, India Royale, seems serious about moving on and choosing a different path – even after everything he did for her. At today’s court hearing, only 10 people showed up to support him… and she wasn’t one of them. Surprisingly, two stars from Power – Kris D. Lofton and Gianni V. Paolo — were among those who came through. Durk reportedly bought her a cosmetic shop, promoted her business in a Drake song, and made sure she had everything she needed. But today… no show. No support. No appearance. Life really scary when loyalty gets tested like.”
An X user, Myron Gaines reacted to the circulating post, writing: “Women are NOT naturally loyal and 99% of CAN’T be because it’s against their own survival instincts.” His post led India to enter the chat, responding with “Shut up B****” After that she called out trolls for speaking on her relationship, writing, “Y’all taking it too far now. Stop with the false narrative.”

India Royale Is Outside & Keeping Herself Busy With A New Hobby
Despite the chatter and missing her man, India Royale is still enjoying life. Toward the end of 2025, she revealed she was picking up a new hobby and learning how to sew. She captioned her post, “I know I’m super late with this, but I’m just about to start my beginners sewing class.”
In the video, India explained that she felt like her life had become repetitive. She shared that she only felt excitement when traveling, going out to eat, or spending time with her children. Throughout the series, she said she planned to try new hobbies to discover what she truly enjoys.

The 2026 World Cup is just months away, and Lyft is preparing all its drivers for the biggest sports event of the year … revealing to TMZ Sports it is providing plenty of resources to keep travelers safe — including anti-trafficking education.
We spoke with Lyft to get a blueprint for how it’ll handle the WC, which will bring thousands of fans around the world to hosting cities like Los Angeles, New York/New Jersey, Miami, and more.
The on-demand ridesharing service said it’s thrilled to be part of this “landmark moment,” offering riders coming from Europe a special promo code to welcome first timers, AKA “FreeNow customers.”
Lyft is also making sure its drivers are educated on what to expect during the World Cup … and as part of the effort, will provide training, including anti-human trafficking courses, to help drivers recognize potential risks while keeping fans safe.
“We’ll be hosting driver education events and providing drivers in host markets with detailed ‘know before you go’ communications covering venue configurations, pickup and dropoff logistics, and other key info in the weeks leading up to each game,” the Lyft spokesperson said.
“Additionally, we’ll be surfacing anti-human trafficking educational resources to drivers across all host markets as part of our ongoing commitment to driver and community safety.”
According to the United Nations International Labour Organization, 27.6 million worldwide fall victim to human trafficking. In the U.S., ICE Homeland Security Investigations has uncovered operations in bars, hotels, escort services, and more.
Federal special agent Aristides “Harry” Jimenez reportedly said all major sporting events often see a large increase in human trafficking activity.
In fact, Josh Singleton, Commander of the Santa Clara County Human Trafficking Task Force, told us his officers arrested a bunch of sex traffickers and pimps after Super Bowl LX.
