Carrot Top is reportedly back home and reconnecting with loved ones after a frightening medical emergency left him hospitalized for more than a week. The 61-year-old comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, is said to be resting at his Las Vegas home and making encouraging progress following an apparent prescription pill overdose. The positive update comes as allegations surrounding an explicit recording and a contentious legal battle involving former friend Brian Evans continue to unfold.
Carrot Top Is Reportedly ‘Doing Well’ At Home
According to TMZ, Thompson has been speaking with family members since returning home from the hospital. A source told the outlet that the veteran performer is “doing well” and feeling significantly better while recovering at his modern desert residence. Thompson is also reportedly grateful for the kindness and support he has received from fans throughout the ordeal.
The update marks a major improvement from the comedian’s condition when emergency responders arrived at his Las Vegas property on September 18. Thompson had reportedly been found unconscious near the pool in his backyard after an apparent overdose involving prescription medication.
A 911 caller reportedly described him as “barely conscious.” Thompson was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he remained for more than a week. His representative subsequently confirmed that he had regained consciousness and was “awake” and “breathing on his own.”
A Police Report Revealed His Final Message To His Manager
A police report reviewed by TMZ offered additional details about the events preceding Thompson’s hospitalization. According to the report, Thompson’s manager spoke to him over the phone on September 18 after informing him about an article containing allegations of sexual misconduct.
During the conversation, Thompson allegedly said that his long-running Las Vegas show would be over because of the report. He also reportedly expressed concern about whether an unnamed third party and her daughter would be “okay without him.”
After the call ended, Thompson allegedly sent his manager a one-word text reading, “done.”
When the manager could no longer reach the comedian, he contacted authorities and asked them to conduct a welfare check at Thompson’s home.
Officers reportedly arrived shortly before 4:30 p.m. and discovered Thompson unconscious in the backyard. Although he was breathing, he was unresponsive when police found him. Thompson’s attorney later confirmed the suicide attempt in a September 20 court filing.
Many Of His Las Vegas Shows Have Been Canceled
Thompson will remain away from the stage as he focuses on his recovery. According to TMZ, three weeks of performances at the Atrium Showroom inside the Luxor Hotel and Casino have been canceled.
Thompson has become a recognizable fixture on the Strip through his energetic prop comedy, muscular physique and signature red hair. His Luxor performances have remained a major part of his career for nearly two decades.
According to Neon, the show will be reopening on October 19, 2026.
Thompson’s hospitalization came amid a bitter legal dispute with singer Brian Evans, who previously opened for the comedian. In July, Radar Online reported that Evans had sued Thompson and accused him of sending an unsolicited sexually explicit video.
A second accuser later reportedly came forward to support Evans’ allegations and share his own account. The claims have not been proven in court.
Thompson’s legal team has offered a sharply different version of the dispute, accusing Evans of attempting to pressure the comedian into paying $500,000 by raising the possibility that explicit material could become public.
In the September 20 court filing, Thompson’s attorney requested “immediate protective relief” to prevent Evans from “exposing [Thompson] to ill repute, false allegations, and salacious materials.”
“Evans demands immediate payment of significant sums and states that, absent immediate payment, a sexually explicit recording of Thompson will be filed in the public court file so that it may be obtained and disseminated by the press and other parties,” the attorney wrote, according to Page Six.
The filing characterized Evans’ alleged conduct as an extortion scheme. However, no criminal finding against Evans has been reported in connection with those allegations.
Brian Evans Denies Threatening Carrot Top
Evans has strongly denied attempting to exchange his silence for a financial settlement. He told Page Six that he “never threatened, ever, to post any video anywhere in exchange for a settlement.” Evans also maintained that the recording at the center of the dispute was deleted “a long time ago.”
Following reports of Thompson’s suicide attempt, the singer expressed relief that the comedian survived while denying responsibility for what happened. Evans said that he was “sorry that Scott apparently did something to hurt himself.”
Justin Verlander was overcome with emotion when his 7-year-old daughter, Genevieve, ran toward him on the pitchers’ mound after his last Detroit Tigers baseball game.
“I had no clue. I was totally blindsided,” Verlander, 43, told reporters after the September, September 26, game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. “It hit me like a ton of bricks, that was amazing. I was sobbing and had to make sure she understood I was happy.”
Saturday’s game marked the final time that Verlander, who shares Genevieve and 15-month-old son Bellamy with wife Kate Upton, started in an MLB game. (The Tigers ultimately defeated the Pirates 4-3.)
To celebrate her dad’s accomplishment, Genevieve — fittingly dressed in a miniature version of Verlander’s jersey — ran onto the diamond to give him a big hug. After the father-daughter duo’s embrace, Upton, 34, and Bellamy joined them on the field for a sweet group hug.

“She was fine, I think, [but] I just wanted to make sure she was fine,” he added in his postgame press conference of Genevieve. “She’s never seen me cry like that. I think walking off the field with my family, and obviously we’ve talked a lot about how my life has changed and what my family has meant to me, … to be able to walk off the field with them, I can’t think of a better ending.”
Hours before the game, Verlander was honored by the team with an official retirement ceremony.
“I feel like I ran my race. I gave it everything I had,” the baseball star said in his Friday, September 25, speech. “I see my daughter, who’s 7 now, and how fast that goes and how much of that time frame I’ve missed already. I have a 1-year-old son now. I know that I’m going to be able to be there for him and experience more of that childhood that I missed, unfortunately, with my daughter [and] also be there for her in some very formative years coming up.”

Wiseman noted that they weren’t ruling out a baby in the future — just not right now, adding, “Yeah, we’re definitely open to it. It just felt a little early in the series to make such a big change.”

Matlock‘s time slot will be given to Elsbeth to allow Cupertino to premiere on the same night. NCIS: Sydney, meanwhile, is moving to midseason as NCIS: Origins — which received a shorter episode order — takes over to pair off with NCIS: New York.

After welcoming her second child in 2023, she gave an interview to “Access Hollywood,” where she was asked what surprised her most about motherhood.
The singer revealed the kind of mother she hoped to be while noting that she wanted to create a family that “breaks generational curses.”
“You don’t have an idea,” Rihanna said at the time, per TODAY. “You just hope, ‘I can have kids one day, and I hope I can have them in love, and I hope that I can be a part of a family that breaks generational curses and moves forward and does new things and raises our kids better than we were raised and all the beautiful things.’”
A$AP Rocky Lets Slip That Rihanna Is ‘Cooking’ In The Studio
At the same time, fans may soon hear Rihanna sing again, as A$AP Rocky revealed she’s in the studio working on a new project.
During his wide-ranging interview with Jason Lee in August, the host asked whether he was the reason she hadn’t released a new project since 2016’s “Anti.”
But the “Praise The Lord” rapper told him “she’s in the studio” and is “cooking.”
“Yeah, I said it, sorry babe,” he continued, adding that he would “get in trouble for this,” per the BBC.
Well, this story certainly has a bone to pick with the definition of a happy family! Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story takes us back to one of America’s most infamous murder cases, where family drama gets very bloody and the question of “who did it?” comes with an axe-load of suspicion. With Lizzie Borden at the centre of the story, I was curious to see how the Monster series would put its own spin on this notorious case.
One of the things I enjoyed about this chapter of the Monster series is that it doesn’t simply focus on the famous “Lizzie Borden took an axe” story that most people already know. It tries to look beyond the headlines and explore Lizzie as a person, as well as the circumstances surrounding the murders of her father and stepmother.
I also enjoyed the appearance of Aileen, who provides another connection to the wider Monster universe. Her inclusion was an interesting touch and reminded me that this series is not only interested in the crimes themselves, but also in the infamous people behind them and the stories that have developed around their cases.
The comparison between Lizzie and Aileen is also interesting. Their stories are very different, but both demonstrate how notorious murder cases can become larger than the people involved. Their appearances add another layer to the series and its exploration of some of the most infamous names in true crime.
Unfortunately, this is where I started to feel that the series didn’t quite reach its full potential.
Lizzie Borden’s story is fascinating enough to carry a compelling series, but I found the pacing to be quite uneven. There were moments where the story had me interested and wanting to know what would happen next, but there were also sections that felt slow and dragged the overall experience down.
I also wanted more depth from some of the characters and storylines. There is plenty of material to work with, but at times it felt like the series was only scratching the surface. I would have liked to see more exploration of the relationships, motivations and circumstances surrounding Lizzie.
The atmosphere, however, works well. There is something naturally unsettling about watching a story based on real murders, particularly when the question of guilt has remained part of the fascination surrounding the case for so long.
The performances also help keep things together, and there were definitely moments that stood out. But for me, the series didn’t have the same impact that I would have hoped for from a Monster story.
The cast is definitely one of the stronger parts of Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story. Ella Beatty does a good job as Lizzie, especially in showing the character’s more troubled and complicated side. She brings a quiet intensity to the role that works particularly well during the darker moments. Vicky Krieps is also impressive as Bridget Sullivan, bringing plenty of personality and emotion to a character who becomes an important part of Lizzie’s story.
Rebecca Hall and Charlie Hunnam also make an impression as Abby and Andrew Borden. Their performances help create the tension within the Borden household and make the family dynamics feel increasingly uncomfortable. Billie Lourd brings a different energy as Emma, Lizzie’s sister, and adds another layer to the complicated family relationships.
And then there is Sarah Paulson as Aileen Wuornos. Paulson is always someone who knows how to completely disappear into a character, and her performance here is another reminder of that. Even though Aileen’s story is separate from Lizzie’s historically, Paulson gives the character a strong presence and helps connect the two stories thematically.
For me, the performances are one of the reasons I continued watching even when the pacing started to drag. The cast brings enough intensity to the material to keep the story moving, even when the writing doesn’t always hit the mark.
I wouldn’t say I disliked it. There is enough here to keep fans of true crime and the Monster series interested. However, I found myself wanting more from the story, especially considering how fascinating the real-life case is.

Final verdict: Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story had all the ingredients for a killer story, but unfortunately it didn’t always chop it up into the most gripping television. The axe has fallen, the mystery remains, and Aileen adds an interesting connection to the Monster universe — but for me, this one was more “what the axe?” than “what a killer season!” It certainly has its moments, but ultimately, it left me wanting a little more bite.

After listing their Illinois home, rumors were swirling that they are headed to California to be closer to Wahlberg’s sons. When McCarthy saw that PEOPLE shared the news that the house is on the market, she dropped into their Instagram comments to set the record straight on just where they’re headed; and it’s not California.

Earlier this week, news broke that McCarthy and Wahlberg had listed their 7,236-square-foot St. Charles, Illinois home, with a listing price of $2.8 million. The home boasts 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a “private backyard resort,” and is located on a cul-de-sac.

When the news first broke, PEOPLE reported that the couple was possibly moving to California, but when McCarthy saw that, she wanted to set the record straight.

Seeing the PEOPLE story on Instagram, McCarthy took to the comment section to clear up any rumors about moving to California.
“Going to Vegas. Not Cali,” she simply wrote in the comment section.
And while some may think this move came out of nowhere, it makes sense since the couple has been spending more time in Vegas during Wahlberg’s NKOTB residency. While his shows are happening at Park MGM’s Dolby Live, McCarthy has been known to set up a pop-up shop for her cosmetics brand, Formless Beauty. Her pop-up has been a part of the Blockhead HQ experience, where she also does meet-and-greets.
It Looked Like The Couple Could Be Headed To California
During an interview with PEOPLE back in December 2025, Wahlberg briefly discussed a possible move to California to be closer to his sons.
“I have a 24-year-old son, and I can’t tell you how many times he’s asked me in the last two years to move back to California to be close to him,” he said. “Probably the only thing that could ever get me back to California is my two sons. And if they keep asking, Jenny and I are probably going to start going on realtor.com and figuring things out.”
Wahlberg is dad to two adult sons, Xavier and Elijah, from his first marriage to Kim Fey, and McCarthy has one son, Evan, from her marriage to John Asher.

McCarthy has been known to visit Desert Moon Wellness; a wellness center located in Las Vegas. The center offers “Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, PEMF, Light Therapy, and Vibroacoustic Therapy,” according to their website.
McCarthy has made cameos on the wellness center’s Instagram page multiple times.
One recent video is captioned, “Looking for the best wellness center in #lasvegas? Found it! @desertmoonwellnesslv has it all. IV therapy, HBOT, red light beds and more. The staff is so knowledgeable and kind! Maybe I’ll see you there. I usually go mid week for my IVs.”
Earlier this year, the wellness center also posted videos with McCarthy celebrating her Formless Beauty cosmetics line, as well as promoting some of her favorite therapies.

George Santos entered Fox’s “Special Forces” season 5 knowing he’d struggle on the competition reality show. Before being cast, the former politician was convicted of fraud and identity theft and sentenced to 87 months in prison.
Joining a show with established celebrities, George Santos thought it’d be difficult to connect with his co-stars, but according to him, it was quite the opposite. In fact, he connected with “Full House” star Candace Cameron Bure and gushed about how “awesome” a person she is.
George Santos Knew ‘Special Forces’ Would Be An ‘Uphill Battle’
Speaking with Us Weekly, Santos said he knew filming the series would be an “uphill battle” because of his complicated past. “These are celebrities — people with very public lives — and they’re trying to do the job, get the next job, and brand safety is a big thing,” he said.
According to Santos, he’s like a “nuclear football,” so he knew some cast members would try to avoid him whenever possible. He even said that there were “some cold initial introductions that evolved later” before revealing that he was “humbled by that.”
“The conversations post-show were very positive. My fellow cast members have been amazing and phenomenal to interact with and build relationships with,” he said.
George Santos Talks About His ‘Favorite’ Co-Star
Elsewhere during the interview, the former New York politician opened up about who he connected with most while filming the show.
“My favorite person in the cast — I know we shouldn’t do these things, but I’ll just say it, I don’t care — it was Candace,” Santos said, talking about the “Full House” star. “She’s such an awesome person, I genuinely love her. I mean, DJ Tanner [from Full House] — how could you not?”
George Santos Wasn’t Mad That Some Of His Castmates Tried To Keep Their Distance
Santos did share his thoughts on some of his co-stars trying to keep their distance from him. According to him, he brought the isolation “to myself,” and he said that he knows he has to prove to people that he’s more than what they read in the media.
He continued, “So it’s fine, I’m OK with that. I’m OK with people having that opinion and then at least getting to know me, which is what a lot of people in this cast did.”
Why Was Santos Sentenced To Prison?
According to The Blast, Santos was sentenced to 87 months in prison in 2025 after being convicted of fraud and aggravated identity theft.
The FBI charged Santos in 2023 after accusing him of leading a credit card fraud scheme and lying about his credentials.
During that time, Santos also made headlines after being accused of stealing money from a disabled war veteran.
The veteran, Richard Osthoff, claimed Santos promised to help him and his sick dog with $3,000 by setting up a GoFundMe. After successfully raising the money, Osthoff accused Santos of shutting down the page, fleeing, and becoming “increasingly difficult to contact.”
Santos Said Filming ‘Special Forces’ Was Harder Than His Time In Prison
Santos only served 12 weeks behind bars before President Donald Trump commuted his sentence, seemingly acknowledging Santos’ reported crimes while also offering grace. “There are many rogues throughout our Country that aren’t forced to serve seven years in prison,” Trump posted online, according to NPR.
And while some might assume life as an inmate would be Santos’ hardest challenge, think again. “You know, prison was hard. This was harder,” he said to Us Weekly. “This challenges you. I mean, prison tortures you … [but] this really demands you to actually show up all the time, whereas in our broken incarceratory system in this country, you’re just meat.”

Speaking about his daughter’s pursuits, Jay-Z told the outlet that he remains supportive as she continues to grow.
“I’m more nervous for her than I am for myself,” the rapper told the outlet. “Yeah, for sure. But she put in the work, and she’s a student, and she loves it. So, just to watch her find a way is just extraordinary as well.”
