The View’ Guest Host Pulls Back the Curtains on Workings of Show
While “The View” may look polished on screen, so much more is going on behind the scenes, and guest co-host Sara Eisen is spilling.
With Alyssa Farah Griffin out on maternity leave, the Hot Topics table has welcomed a rotation of substitutes, including Eisen.
The “Squawk on the Street” anchor is now detailing her experience on the broadcast, gushing about how seamless the show appears even though it is raw and unscripted.

Sara Eisen Details Inner Workings of ‘The View’
On her second day subbing in for Griffin, Eisen shared insight on what it is like at the table, admitting it’s not exactly what she expected as a longtime viewer.
When Joy Behar asked whether she was enjoying herself, the CNBC anchor didn’t hesitate to share. “First of all, you guys are all wonderful and gracious. It’s a pleasure to be here, as someone who’s watched the show forever,” the 41-year-old said, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Eisen described the opportunity as a “treat,” saying it allowed her to speak freely about a range of topics. Sunny Hostin then asked whether the reality of the show matched Eisen’s expectations.

“I love how spontaneous it is and how authentic it is,” the business journalist responded. “And how we’re prepared and we’re read-in, but not scripted. It looks very perfect when you watch it on TV, but anything can happen out here.”
Eisen admired her colleague’s ability to perform without earpieces, which sparked a playful jab from Ana Navarro: “Even when Joy does get cued in her ear, she just ignores it.”
Eisen isn’t the only guest co-host to step in during Griffin’s absence. Savannah Chrisley also joined the panel and spoke about her time on the show, thanking the panel for giving her a platform to share differing opinions.

Savannah Chrisley Accused Of Auditioning For A Political Position

Chrisley’s brief stint on the table did not go without backlash. As The Blast reported, the February 19 episode featured Chrisley, Hostin, and Whoopi Goldberg in an argument over Donald Trump.
Goldberg argued that the president has sent “mixed messages” during Black History Month, citing his stance on DEI initiatives and past racist actions.
However, Chrisley countered her, saying she had personally seen Trump’s positive side and finds it hard to see people call him “racist.” She then pointed out Trump’s support of a longtime Black employee.
Hostin pushed back, saying Trump’s behavior still amounted to racism, while Goldberg highlighted examples such as Trump sharing offensive posts about Barack and Michele Obama.

Chrisley’s defense of the U.S. leader drew criticism from fans, and one even accused her of “auditioning for the White House press secretary.”

Jenny McCarthy Rejects The Idea of Returning To The Hot Topics Table

With Chrisley’s guest-host run now over, more familiar faces, including former co-host Abby Huntsman, are expected to fill in for Griffin in the months to come. However, one thing is for sure: past panelist Jenny McCarthy won’t be reclaiming a seat at the table.
McCarthy appeared on the daytime talk show from 2013 to 2014, but she has firmly ruled out ever returning, even after producers reportedly reached out.
During an appearance on “The Katie Miller Podcast” last month, McCarthy reflected candidly on her experience, admitting it was far from positive.
As The Blast reported, McCarthy explained that producers initially hired her to provide light-hearted commentary. However, they quickly shifted toward political discussions, which left her feeling unprepared at the time.
McCarthy added that she was asked to return for the reunion, but her reaction was, “over her dead body.”

Sherri Shepherd Backs Jenny McCarthy’s Reflection, Saying She Was In A Similar Situation

After McCarthy recounted her past stint with the long-running ABC show, her ex-colleague Sherri Shepherd echoed the same account.
According to The Blast, Shepherd revealed that the showrunners hired her because they wanted someone “relatable.”
However, the order of the day soon turned to political debates, which Shepherd said was challenging given her strict upbringing. At one point, she was advised to read to get more insight into the political world.
Whoopi Goldberg Shares Reason For Her Absence On ‘The View’

Meanwhile, Griffin isn’t the only permanent co-host to take a break from the show recently. Whoopi Goldberg was off the panel from November 17 until her return on December 1 last year.
Per The Blast, Goldberg resumed with shared details about her hiatus, revealing she was filming a soap opera in Italy.
She joked with Ana Navarro about forgetting English and described the experience of working in a different language and country as “really interesting.”
Goldberg noted she kept her colleagues updated with videos from Naples, where it rained constantly.

The 21st Century’s Smartest Sci-Fi Gem Lands on Free Streaming
The 21st century has been blessed with some of the finest sci-fi movies of all time. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind turned the whirlwind of modern relationships into a mind-bending tale; Children of Men brought a dark and dystopian story that feels evermore relatable; Pixar delivered heartwarming romance with gorgeous animation in WALL·E; and Christopher Nolan had us all hanging on the wobble of a spinning top in Inception. But for some, the greatest sci-fi movie of the century so far is Alex Garland‘s Ex Machina.
Released in 2015, not only did Ex Machina stun both audiences and critics, but, as one of A24’s earliest releases, it helped establish the studio’s reputation as one of the defining names in modern film. Boasting stunning performances from the likes of Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, and Alicia Vikander, and a plot that feels as relevant as ever today, Ex Machina is the proud owner of a 92% critics’ score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus on the site reading, “Ex Machina leans heavier on ideas than effects, but it’s still a visually polished piece of work — and an uncommonly engaging sci-fi feature.”
If you have yet to catch this defining 21st-century feature, you’re in luck. This March, Ex Machina will be available to stream for free on Plex. If you don’t believe Rotten Tomatoes, then listen to Collider’s ever-reliable Perri Nemiroff, who reviewed the movie at SXSW in 2015 and wrote, “Ex Machina is a strong feature and a huge achievement in a number of ways. There’s a surprising amount of very effective humor courtesy of Isaac’s character, there’s an extremely riveting scenario at the core of the film, and there’s also tons of stunning visual work to admire as well.”
Was ‘Ex Machina’ a Box Office Hit?
Considering its relatively low budget of $13 million and a relatively reduced theatrical release, peaking over just one weekend at 2,004 theaters, Ex Machina made the most of its box office run. In total, the movie earned $38.2 million worldwide, split between a domestic haul of $25.4 million and a further $12.8 million from overseas markets. At the time of its release, it became the highest-grossing A24 movie of all time worldwide, although this record has since been broken several times.
Ex Machina will be available to stream on Plex this March. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for more streaming stories.

New Warrant Issued Related to Mardi Gras Arrest: Report
Published
Shia LaBeouf just got hit with more legal troubles … police in New Orleans reportedly issued a new warrant in connection to his bar brawl early Mardi Gras morning on Feb. 17.
The warrant was issued Friday and involves an additional victim from the physical altercation that went down involving the Disney alum at R Bar in the French Quarter, WWL Louisiana reports, citing multiple sources. TMZ has reached out to NOPD for comment … so far, nothing back.
We told you all about the beatdown — Shia allegedly got physical with at least 2 people outside of R Bar … before getting his ass whooped and taken to the clink on 2 counts of simple battery. The official police report also says he hurled homophobic slurs multiple times at a group of people outside the bar.
He was released on his own recognizance — meaning he didn’t have to post bond — hours after his arrest and headed straight to Bourbon Street to celebrate Mardi Gras … and even took his release papers with him to show off to fellow partiers.
On Thursday, a judge tore him apart for his offensive language … and set a $100,000 bail while also ordering Shia to undergo drug testing and enroll in substance abuse treatment. His request to leave the county for his father’s baptism was also denied.

Kimora Lee Simmons Reportedly Undergoes Name Change
Roommates, the whispers have been circulating for a minute… and now it’s official. Kimora Lee Simmons is reportedly undergoing a name change. But don’t get it twisted, this isn’t just a simple rebrand. Sources close to the mogul say the move signals a full-on personal and professional reset. And, Kimora herself is calling the shots on her legacy and brand identity.
RELATED: Oop! Kimora Lee Simmons Snaps At Russell Simmons After He Slams Her Claim Of Having No Relationship With Her Kids’ Fathers
Kimora Lee Isn’t Here For The Media Spin
In a statement shared by Complex, Kimora explained that the change is rooted in control — of her name, her business, and her story. Additionally, the Baby Phat founder pushed back on recent headlines that she says misrepresented her, including a New York Post article she claims was “full of inaccuracies.” She’s not just talking — she’s taking legal action to protect herself from alleged attempts at extortion or bullying. Kimora frames the name change as part of a larger evolution, one that aligns with her business portfolio and personal intentions while keeping her legacy front and center.
“Kimora’s decision to change her name legally — back to Kimora Lee — is rooted in a commitment to clarity and ownership,” the statement started. “She is no stranger to controversy. Recently, The New York Post published an article based on a flawed premise and full of inaccuracies. That piece has since been quietly revised on multiple occasions in an attempt to evade accountability.”
Why Kimora Lee Is Saying Bye To “Simmons?”
So, why is Kimora Lee Simmons dropping the “Simmons?” Roommates, it’s not just about a name — it’s about control, clarity, and distance. As previously reported, Kimora revealed she has little relationship with her three co-parents, including Russell Simmons. Kimora also shared that she’s basically the primary parent to all five of her kids, relying on her “village” of family and friends to help raise them. “Usually I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time,” she claimed. She also added that her life “doesn’t ever revolve around a man.”
Just A Name Change… Or More?
Furthermore, the timing isn’t random. Russell’s financial and legal drama has been making headlines, from millions owed in settlements to lawsuits alleging misconduct and nonpayment to multiple women. Kimora didn’t hold back, calling him out from afar and telling him to “go negotiate and answer your accusers.” Meanwhile, she defended her daughters and her own position as a self-reliant mom. Dropping “Simmons” isn’t just a rebrand — it’s seemingly a statement that she’s reclaiming her identity, her legacy, and her power, independent of the chaos surrounding her ex.

Ryan Gosling Reveals What Convinced Him To Join ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’
Actor Ryan Gosling is one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. Although he is best known for romantic comedies like “La La Land” and “The Notebook,” he also revealed more dramatic acting chops in “Blade Runner 2049” and “Drive.” While fans are looking forward to him appearing in “Project Hail Mary,” due in theaters March 20, 2026, “Star Wars” fans are excited to see him appear in a galaxy far, far away in “Star Wars: Starfighter,” which is scheduled for a May 2027 release.

Ryan Gosling Reveals Why He Decided To Join The ‘Star Wars’ Franchise

Although the A-list actor has so far stayed out of many franchise films, he will finally be appearing in a galaxy far, far away when “Star Wars: Starfighter” hits theaters next May. While promoting his upcoming sci-fi movie “Project Hail Mary,” he was asked by io9 about what exactly convinced him to join a galaxy far, far away.
In his response, Gosling credited director Shawn Levy, who is still hot off the success of 2024’s “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
“It was Shawn’s enthusiasm and his vision and the script, and I just avoided these things because they never felt right,” Gosling said. “And I’m glad I did because I feel like, [similar to] a book like this, [it was] worth waiting for. And it is like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ Will Have A Lightsaber Duel Shot By Tom Cruise

Not much is currently known about the film, except for its star-studded cast that includes Mia Goth, Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, and Amy Adams. It appears that there was some serious star power going on behind the scenes as well, as Levy told the New York Times in January 2026 that Tom Cruise helped film a scene “involving a lightsaber duel in the water.”
“Last week, Steven Spielberg was here. And now Tom Cruise is wielding a camera, ruining his very nice shoes. Now when you see the movie, you’ll know that part of it was shot by Tom. I mean, how cool is that?” Levy gushed.

Ryan Gosling’s Character May Be Involved In A Father-Son Dynamic
Promotional images for the film have shown Ryan Gosling on set with Flynn Gray, who has appeared in TV shows like “Going Dutch” and “Wednesday.” In the interview, Levy explained that his father left the family when he was only three, and did not reunite with him until he was thirteen years old.
“I have never, ever connected it before… But I could never figure out why I kept coming back to these stories of a 13-year-old boy being saved by a man. There was something defining about that moment for me. And with ‘Star Wars,’ I’m doing so again,” Levy revealed.

“My dad called me yesterday and asked me how I’m doing. ‘Is the job stressful? Is it hard?’” he said. “I’m like: ‘Yes, this movie is more stressful and challenging than anything I’ve ever done.’ But also, my 10-year-old self is on set with me every day. That’s how I make movies.”

Shawn Levy Compares ‘Starfighter’ To ‘Stranger Things’

The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Shawn Levy in January 2026 to talk about the final season of “Stranger Things,” as he executive-produced and directed a few episodes in the last season of the hit Netflix show.
“If I can balance the epic and the intimate the way the Duffers have with Stranger Things, I’ll make a movie and an original and new Star Wars adventure that can be really satisfying to fans and audiences,” Levy said at the time.
“If I’ve learned anything on Stranger Things, it’s that you can get intimidated by the scale of franchise expectation. But you will lose your way if that’s your focus. I’ve learned the need to stay rooted in character, and themes and relationships on screen,” he continued.
“Yes, there’s spectacle and scale, just like Stranger Things. And of course, Star Wars and Starfighter has spectacle and scale and adventure at a level I’ve never done in my whole career,” he added. “But like Stranger Things, it’s also very much anchored in a human scale character-sized story.”

‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ Wrapped Production In December 2025
In December 2025, Levy took to Instagram to reveal that he had finished filming. “That’s a wrap!” he wrote. “Headed into #Starfighter post-production like…”
While it remains to be seen if Ryan Gosling will be needed for any reshoots, that’s not the only “Star Wars” movie fans have to look forward to.
“The Mandalorian & Grogu,” the first “Star Wars” film to hit theaters since 2019’s “The Rise of Skywalker,” will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026.

Tia Mowry Says Angelina Jolie Asked for Her Insight Into Being a Twin
Tia Mowry is reflecting on the “surreal” moment that Angelina Jolie asked her for her insight about being a twin.
Posting via her Instagram Stories on Friday, February 27, Tia answered a fan question about whether she had ever had a starstruck moment with another celebrity.
“I’ve definitely been starstruck, and it happened the first time I met Angelina Jolie,” Tia, 47, responded. “She was unbelievably beautiful, genuinely kind and just so cool in person. What made it even wilder was that she actually knew who I was, and since she had twins, she started asking me questions about what it was like being a twin.”
She added, “It was such a surreal, wonderful moment.”
Tia and her sister Tamera are real-life twins and rose to fame together playing separated-at-birth siblings in Sister, Sister from 1994 to 1999.
While they’ve had their ups and downs over the years, Tia reflected on the unique bond that twins share in a heartfelt birthday tribute post to Tamera in 2024.
“I want to take this moment to cherish my sister and wish an early happy birthday to Tamera,” Tia wrote via Instagram in July 2024. “Having you by my side as we’ve grown and evolved has been an incredible blessing. Not everyone can say they’ve had someone with them through every major milestone in life.”

In 2019, Tamera shared during an episode of The Real that the pair attended counseling in order to learn how to communicate better with one another.
“It’s because we were so different, and we needed to learn to communicate in a way that was positive for the both of us,” Tamera explained. “I’m very sensitive as the world knows, and my sister — she’s very assertive and she can handle herself. We had to learn how to communicate properly with each other.”
Meanwhile, Jolie is mother to twins Knox and Vivienne, both 17, as well as their siblings Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, and Shiloh, 19. The Oscar-winning actress shares the children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt. (Jolie and Pitt married in 2014 and split two years later.)
Jolie, 50, has spoken candidly about motherhood over the years including when she wrote for Time magazine’s Parents newsletter in April 2020.
“It is a lovely thing to discover that your children don’t want you perfect. They just want you honest. And doing your best,” Jolie reflected at the time. “In fact, the more room they have to be great where you are weak, the stronger they may become. They love you. They want to help you. So in the end, it’s the team you build. And in a way, they are raising you up too. You grow together.”
The following year, Jolie described herself a “fortunate” mom in a May 2021 E! interview.
“Of course you wake up and you just feel like, ‘I’ve got to make sure they’re OK. I’ve got to make sure they’re mentally OK,’ but honestly I think a few years ago it switched and they’re thinking, ‘I’ve got to make sure mom’s OK!’ They take really good care of me, and we’re such a team,” she gushed. “I am very, very lucky. I worry — I’m always the one that worries — but I adore them. They’re cool people.”

10 Years Later, Cillian Murphy’s Cult Action Thriller Goes Free
For his titular role in the highest-grossing World War II movie of all time, Oppenheimer, the ever-brilliant Cillian Murphy finally reached the summit and took home the Academy Award for Best Actor. Under the directorial eye of Christopher Nolan, and alongside the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon, Murphy produced a performance more than worthy of the award, and one that is already proving to be a recent benchmark for this year’s Best Actor race.
Although Oppenheimer is Murphy’s best performance, the actor still deserves much more credit for some of his other work. One of his most underrated turns came in one of A24’s earliest movies: Free Fire. A pulse-racing action comedy directed by Meg 2: The Trench‘s Ben Wheatley, Free Fire was a relatively low-budget action affair that used just one location to make the most of its limitations. Alongside Murphy, the film stars the likes of Armie Hammer, Sharlto Copley, Jack Reynor, and fellow Oscar winner Brie Larson.
A movie that went under most people’s radar, Free Fire is about to become available on a new platform for those interested in this gem of a Murphy performance. Starting this March, you can watch Free Fire on Plex in the U.S. The film proved somewhat popular with critics, earning a 69% score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. The consensus on the site reads, “Free Fire aims squarely for genre thrills, and hits its target repeatedly and with great gusto — albeit with something less than pure cinematic grace.”
Cillian Murphy Is About To Return to His Most Famous Role
A viewing of Free Fire to begin your March is the perfect way to get in the mood for one of the month’s biggest releases. By the order of Netflix, Peaky Blinders is about to get a feature-length next installment titled The Immortal Man. Written by series creator Steven Knight and directed by Tom Harper, the movie debuts in select theaters on March 6, 2026, and lands on Netflix on March 20, 2026. A synopsis reads:
“Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground. By order of the Peaky Blinders…”
Free Fire is streaming on Plex this March. Stay tuned to Collider for more streaming stories.
