Tina Fey is taking a more reflective look at her time on “Saturday Night Live,” admitting that not every joke she helped put on air aged the way she’d hoped. Speaking at the 2026 edition of “History Talks,” the comedian acknowledged she was “on the wrong side” of certain moments during her tenure.
Despite that admission, Fey pushed back on the idea that “SNL” ever tried to steer a specific political narrative, insisting the show’s impact has always come from reflecting culture rather than controlling it.

Fey is taking a candid look back at her early comedy career, admitting that not every joke she made on “Saturday Night Live” aged the way she intended. Before stepping in to host the first episode of “SNL UK” last month, she had already spent years as both a writer and performer on the show’s flagship U.S. version.
Speaking at a recent HistoryTalks event, Fey revisited defining moments from that era, including returning to the show in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
While the comedian said she has no regrets about the time she dedicated to the long-running NBC series, she acknowledged that some of her material missed the mark.
“I was pretty d-mb and not much better now, but there’s jokes that I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, I was on the wrong side of that,’” Fey said.
Fey has also pushed back on the idea that “Saturday Night Live” ever set out to shape political narratives, insisting the show’s approach was far more measured behind the scenes.
Speaking at the event, Fey said she often found it fascinating to realize just how seriously audiences could take what was meant to be comedy. That awareness, she explained, became especially clear during a particularly intense six-week stretch when she worked alongside Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler on a run of sketches centered on Sarah Palin.
“We always worked really hard to make sure that we felt like they were what we would call ‘a fair hit,’” Fey said, describing the team’s effort to strike a balance between satire and accuracy.

Fey brought her signature wit to the UK stage last month, delivering a monologue on the British version of “Saturday Night Live” that leaned into the same self-aware humor that defined her rise in the U.S.
In her opening, Fey expressed genuine gratitude for the opportunity before joking that she was the “youngest person” ever to host the series.
She then playfully reintroduced herself to the audience, saying, “You may know me as the teacher from ‘Mean Girls,’ or you might remember a long time ago when I played Sarah Palin on ‘SNL U.S.,’ Or maybe you feel like you recognize me as the lady from the show ‘Veep.’ And that’s fine too! Let’s go with that!”
From that moment on, the show delivered a more classic Fey, including a sarcastic remark about how “no one really knows why” an American was chosen to host the debut episode.
When “Bridgerton” star Nicola Coughlan asked her why she thinks she was chosen, the “Veep” alum responded, “How do I put this politely?… None of you f-ckers would do it!”
The uncensored moment didn’t go unnoticed. Actor Michael Cera pointed out that she had just dropped the f-word, but Fey brushed it off without hesitation.
“Yeah, we are allowed to swear in this version of the show,” she fired back, pointing to the main difference between the U.S. and UK versions of “SNL.”

Fey isn’t slowing down anytime soon, with several projects already lined up for the months ahead.
Later this year, the comedian will return to the small screen for Season 2 of “The Four Seasons,” reprising her role as Kate alongside a returning ensemble that includes Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Marco Calvani, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Erika Henningsen.
Beyond that, Fey is also stepping back into development mode. In March, PEOPLE reported that she would be adapting Elle Cosimano’s bestselling mystery novel “Finlay Donovan Is Killing It,” marking another collaboration with Lang Fisher, her creative partner on “The Four Seasons.”

Jennifer Lopez is giving fans a rare glimpse at her bare-faced beauty routine, and the internet definitely has opinions. The multi-hyphenate star showed off her makeup-free look during a self-care “day off” while walking followers through her skincare regimen using products from her own JLo Beauty line.

In the video, Lopez appeared fresh-faced as she demonstrated her step-by-step skincare process, which included several products from JLo Beauty. The singer and actress used the brand’s Gel Cream Cleanser, Brightening Serum, Ultra-Hydrating Lip Mask, and Nutrient-Rich Hydrating Mist while sharing a motivational message about consistency and self-belief.
“I was thinking, we have all these hopes, these dreams, these desires. And what I realized is that that’s the key,” Lopez said. “We actually create what we want. Whether it’s our dream job or it’s great skin. And we do that with consistency.”
Lopez also credited consistency as one of the driving forces behind her decades-long success. “It’s the believing. It’s the idea that I can create whatever it is I want in my life. And that has been true,” she explained.
While finishing her skincare routine, Lopez reflected on how daily habits have shaped both her career and appearance over the years. “And so as I begin this day with my skincare routine, I do it with joy knowing that,” she said. “It leads me to the results that I want. I hope that’s helpful.”
The post quickly gained traction online as fans flooded comment sections with reactions to Lopez’s glowing complexion. Many fans praised Lopez’s youthful appearance, with some insisting the star looks even better in person.
“I stood right beside her at a restaurant a few years ago and thought she was a model.. Her skin was like glass, she is surprisingly tall in heels, and very slim. She looks way better in person,” one person claimed. “She looks beautiful,” another commenter added.

Others, however, questioned whether the look was truly makeup-free. “Less makeup certainly, but she has lipstick, eyeliner, and some kind of brow product on,” one critic wrote. Another commenter speculated about cosmetic procedures, claiming, “she has had face neck lifts and lasers… it takes invasive intervention to look like this at 56.”
Some users also questioned whether filters played a role in the video, with comments like, “Camera filters,” and “Makeup free, but there are still filters.”

As speculation surrounding her youthful appearance continues, Lopez has repeatedly shut down rumors that cosmetic procedures are behind her glow.
The singer and actress has consistently maintained that she has never undergone Botox, injectables, or plastic surgery, even when critics have questioned whether her skin could really look that smooth naturally. “I have never done Botox or any injectables or surgery,” Lopez previously said while addressing online accusations surrounding her appearance.
At one point, Lopez even responded after a doctor publicly suggested she may have had cosmetic work done, doubling down on her stance. “That’s just my face!!!” she wrote at the time, reiterating her position for what she jokingly called the “500 millionth time.”

While fans continue debating her skincare secrets, Lopez is also gearing up for her upcoming Netflix romantic comedy, and she’s already gushing over co-star Brett Goldstein.
Speaking at Netflix’s Upfront presentation in New York City on May 13, Lopez opened up about working alongside the “Ted Lasso” star and revealed their connection came naturally while filming. “We had great chemistry to begin with,” Lopez said. “It just grew as we did the film together.”
The singer and actress admitted Goldstein was actually very different from what she initially expected. “I expected more of a rough guy, but you get this kind, gentle but also very smart person that is so charming,” Lopez explained. “That was a surprise, I think.”
Lopez also revealed she was already a major fan of Goldstein thanks to his breakout role as Roy Kent on “Ted Lasso.”
“I was a huge fan of his from him doing Ted Lasso. Roy Kent, that’s one of my favorite characters,” she said. “I thought he was going to be more like the character, but he was so soft-spoken and sweet and totally different.”
Is she really a doctor or isn’t she? That’s the question social media has been debating ALL WEEK about Cheyenne Bryant, who’s built a large platform as Dr. Cheyenne Bryant. Amid promoting her new book, ‘Live Your Promise,’ questions have surfaced about her credentials. Two interviews meant to address the topic have only added more fuel to the dumpster fire blazing online! But, no matter what the internet has to say, Bryant insists she’ll continue to use doctor in her name…and even wear it around her neck!
Bryant’s Instagram bio currently reads: “psychology expert, life coach and author,” while her handle includes “doctor.” She’s pushing her newly-released book and continuing to promote content about having breakthroughs, navigating marriage, and even intimacy.
Meanwhile, her comment sections are still demanding answers about whether having “doctor” before her name is legitimate. That conversation went mega-viral after her May 12 appearance on ‘The Breakfast Club.’ She explained that she was only clearing up the credentials conversation for her “DocSquad” and not people who don’t like her. “I don’t give a f**k,” were her words for her critics. She later explained that she was enrolled in Argosy University’s doctoral program. The university permanently closed in March 2019, and Bryant claimed she struggled to obtain her school records after it did. She said she contacted financial aid, which offered her a refund in exchange for no credit for any programs or courses she completed at the university. She declined.
“You can’t make up financial aid. It shows that I paid for a doctoral program, alongside my masters program and my undergrad program,” Cheyenne Bryant said.
Ultimately, she explained that she has some transcripts, up to her dissertation, after downloading them from the student portal at the time of attendance. “But everything else, there’s no…holding take for any of our records, which I think is completely effed up.” She explained that the school’s third-party only held the record for two years after the university closed. When DJ Envy pointed out the argument that people allow her credentials to slide because of how she looks, she explained her “pretty punishment” concept.
“…I’ve learned that there’s pretty punishment. And I didn’t really understand that term until I got into my field…I been in my field for 18 years, I didn’t get into my field to become famous…a celebrity,” Bryant said.
Also, she said the people made her famous. Her true intention was to share what she learned from the journey God put her on. “No one goes to college and gets multiple degrees to say I want to be famous. Now do I love it? Yeah I love it, I’m grateful for it, I appreciate it.”
Two days after ‘The Breakfast Club’ interview dropped, Cheyenne Bryant appeared on ‘The Marissa Mitchell Show’ on Fox 5 DC. She was there to promote ‘Live Your Promise,’ and they talked about it in depth. Then, toward the end, she again addressed questions about her credentials. First, she said she was doing “really good” amid the backlash, expressing thankfulness for the “free marketing.” She referenced God in her additional answer, basically saying that her expansion and growth is inevitably going to come with “a heavier cross.”
“My obedience is to God, not to people…as long as I’m in his will and I’m serving and I’m doing his word, my sheep will know my voice. Even the sheep in wolf’s clothing…,” she said.
When Mitchell pushed back about her refusal to provide proof, Cheyenne Bryant said her proof “isn’t something [she] has to prove to individuals.” Adding:
“My proof is already in my credentials, my degrees and also more than just my titles, it’s in how effective I’ve been. All of my sessions have been live for the most part. My sessions with Nick Cannon, Cam Newton, Shannon Sharpe, B. Simone. They have all been for the world to see.”
Bryant added that she’s “effective” at what she does, and that she created her own lane, which can often inspire admiration to convert to envy. When Mitchell asked why she won’t drop “Dr.” from her name if she won’t provide proof of her degree, this was Bryant’s response:
“…I’ve earned the title, I have multiple degrees and I’m not going to prove anything to anybody and we’re going to leave it just as that,” Cheyenne Bryant. “Standing by it because I earned it, absolutely.”
Yup, she’s the hot topic on every platform. From X to Meta to Instagram, Threads, YouTube and TikTok. The people want the proof that Cheyenne Bryant is refusing to provide. And the conversations are leading to comparisons to people like, Dr. Sebi, Dr. Umar (who holds an actual Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree), Dr. Dre and even that one 18-year-old who went viral and was later arrested for impersonating a doctor, Malachi “Dr. Love” Love-Robinson. Even skits referencing Cheyenne are going viral. Keep scrolling for a taste of how the internet is dragging the topic to no end!

Starz’s beloved time-traveling romance debuted in 2014, led by Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan.
Nicole Kidman has found herself at the center of fresh family speculation after fans noticed she excluded her older children, Isabella and Connor, from a recent Mother’s Day tribute.
The post reignited long-standing rumors about her relationship with the two adopted children, with a source sharing that things have “shifted” since the actress’s recent divorce.
At the same time, insiders claim Keith Urban is quietly struggling with growing distance from the daughters he shares with Nicole Kidman.

Nicole Kidman has sparked debate online after excluding her two older children, Isabella and Connor, from her recent Mother’s Day tribute.
The Oscar-winning actress shared a sweet Instagram photo on Sunday featuring her daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, whom she shares with husband Keith Urban.
Alongside the image, Kidman wrote: “To my beautiful girls, the greatest joy is being your mother. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in the world.”
The post quickly drew attention from fans, many of whom questioned why her adopted children with ex-husband Tom Cruise were not included. “What about the other two?” one follower commented.
Kidman adopted Isabella, now 33, and Connor, 31, during her marriage to Cruise. The actress has rarely been seen publicly with either child in over a decade, fueling long-running speculation about distance within the family.
Much of the attention has centered on Isabella and Connor’s involvement with the Church of Scientology, which Cruise also famously follows.

Amid the rumors of strain, Isabella recently appeared to acknowledge her connection to her mother by professionally using the surname “Kidman Cruise” instead of simply “Cruise.”
However, a source speaking to Woman’s Day claimed that Kidman’s relationship with her adopted kids has “shifted” since her divorce from Keith Urban, and now the actress is reassessing the people she keeps close as she enters a new phase in life.
“Nicole’s going through a rigid ‘culling’ period where she’s moving forward,” a source told the news outlet, per Sky News Australia.
They added, “Her trust issues have definitely been rattled, and she’s only bringing people along her next phase in life who have a proven track record of loyalty.”

Years before Kidman’s omission of her adopted kids from her Mother’s Day post, she had publicly expressed love and support for all of her children.
In a 2018 interview with Who Magazine, she addressed her older children’s religious choices, saying that as adults, “they are able to make their own decisions.”
The movie star also talked about the duo’s decision to join the Church of Scientology like their father, Cruise, revealing that, as their mother, all she can do is “love” the two of them despite their choices.
“They have made choices to be Scientologists, and as a mother, it’s my job to love them,” Kidman said at the time.

Meanwhile, Urban is reportedly taking the high road following his split from Kidman, with insiders claiming the country star has refused to publicly criticize his ex despite feeling increasingly distant from their daughters.
According to a source who spoke with In Touch, Urban has “kept his side of the street clean” throughout the separation and “doesn’t trash-talk Nicole or accuse her of poisoning the kids against him, even though … the cold reality is that they’re not currently a part of his life.”
Court documents obtained by People Magazine reportedly show that Kidman, 58, became the primary residential parent after the pair’s September split.
The arrangement allegedly gives the actress custody of the girls for the majority of the year, while Urban’s parenting time is significantly more limited.
The insider claimed Urban agreed to the terms without putting up a legal battle because he believed it was the best decision for the family at the time.
However, those close to the singer say he “never in a million years did he envisage any scenario this brutal.”

In recent months, Sunday Rose has frequently appeared alongside her mother at major public events, including Paris Fashion Week, the Met Gala, and Chanel’s pre-Oscar celebration.
During a March interview with Elle Australia, the teenager reportedly described Kidman as her “biggest inspiration in life.”
Fans also noticed that Sunday briefly unfollowed Urban on Instagram earlier this year, something first reported by the Daily Mail.
Sources close to Urban claim seeing his daughters publicly embrace life with Kidman has been emotionally difficult for the singer.
Some within his inner circle allegedly believe the actress has been intentionally highlighting her close bond with the girls following the breakup.
“She’s like the cat that ate the canary right now, rubbing her happy single parent life in his face, and to pretty much everyone in Keith’s world, that’s just cruel and totally out of line,” the insider said.

Gender-swapped remakes can be quite contentious at times, as people ask what the need for them could possibly be. However, the latest one that’s been announced has certainly caught our eye, because The Expendables universe is officially getting a new movie in the form of The Expendabelles, an all-female spin-off.
The project has been discussed in different forms for years, but the latest version is being lined up as its own entity rather than a follow-up to the adventures of Barney Ross and Lee Christmas, although we’re tickled by the idea of Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney as Barnetta Ross and Leah Christmas.
The main Expendables franchise began in 2010 and followed a team of elite mercenaries led by Sylvester Stallone’s Barney Ross. The films managed to bring an immense level of action stars from your dad’s DVD shelf, including Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, and more.
This has been in the works for a long time. More than a decade, as it happens. An all-female Expendables spin-off was first announced back in 2012, with writers Karen McCullah and Kirsten Smith attached at one stage and over the years, names like Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz, Milla Jovovich, and Sigourney Weaver were all mentioned in connection with the project. We would love to see Meryl with a minigun and a bandolier.
The series started out like a freight train, with the first movie grossing $268 million worldwide against an $82 million budget, while The Expendables 2 did even better with about $312 million worldwide against a $100 million budget. The law of diminishing returns kicked in with the third outing which grossed $209 million worldwide against a $100 million budget. Not a disaster by any means but there’s a clear drop in interest, especially domestically where it only took in about $39 million.
Then Expend4bles pretty much cratered. This was a full blown box office bomb, as it cost around $100 million and grossed only about $51 million worldwide, with just $16.7 million domestic. Its worldwide box office landed at only 0.5 times its production budget, which is brutal. However, with a more moderate budget, it’s clear the interest is there, so this will be one to watch.
The Expendabelles is in production now.

After Cameron Poe (Nicolas Cage) finishes his jail term for involuntary manslaughter, he is placed on a flight with several other convicts who are being transported to a new maximum security prison. Unlike Poe, these guys are very bad people, so when the plane is hijacked by one of them, Cyrus “The Virus” Grissom (John Malkovich), all hell breaks loose. Poe is the only one on board who can stop them from breaking free, but to do that, he’ll have to take them down one by one without crashing the plane.
Con Air has a silly title and an even sillier premise, but with a cast featuring some of the best character actors of the ‘90s, the film works far better than it should. Sporting a buffed-up physique and an ugly mullet, Cage is the grungy action hero we all deserve, while Malkovich and Steve Buscemi compete with who can chew the most scenery as the film’s wild, over-the-top villains. Con Air is pure Hollywood hokum, and it achieves a kind of machismo-fueled perfection that most action films aspire to reach.
Spencer Pratt is unlikely to have cameras following his every move if he is elected mayor of Los Angeles.
A report claimed on Thursday, May 14, that the Hills alum, 42, signed a deal with L.A. production company Boardwalk Pictures to film a reality show should he be named mayor.
However, a spokesperson for Pratt shot down the rumor, telling Us Weekly in a statement, “This is inaccurate. There is no contract. There is no production. Cameras have not been following the campaign and have no plans to do so.”
Pratt announced in January that he is running for mayor, one year after the Palisades Fire that devastated California. Pratt, his wife, Heidi Montag, and their two sons, Gunner, 8, and Ryker, 3, lost their home in the fire, which killed 12 people and burned more than 6,800 homes and businesses.
“The system in Los Angeles isn’t struggling; it’s fundamentally broken,” Pratt said at the “They Let Us Burn” public demonstration on January 7. “It is a machine designed to protect the people at the top and the friends they exchange favors with while the rest of us drown in toxic smoke and ash. Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and I’m done waiting for someone to take real action.”
Pratt continued, “That’s why I am running for mayor. And let me be clear, this just isn’t a campaign, this is a mission, and we’re gonna expose the system.”
Amid his political campaign, Pratt likened himself to former President Barack Obama during a recent interview.
“I have two awards from my community. President Obama actually didn’t even have awards when he was a community organizer,” Pratt, who is a registered Republican, told NBC Los Angeles’ Conan Nolan on May 8. “He was able to become a senator and then a president for eight years. So, I feel like him, and I have the same experience.”

Spencer Pratt. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images for Prime Video)
Pratt also hit back at criticism of his reality TV past as he attempts to pivot to politics. He insisted he is a “community advocate” these days rather than a celebrity.
“I’m no longer a reality star,” he argued. “It’s funny, I keep being called a reality star. I’m the only candidate living in reality, too.”
Pratt is one of three leading candidates in the mayoral race. Incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and Councilwoman Nithya Raman are also strong contenders.
Pratt has several high-profile supporters backing the MTV alum in his political ambitions, including Joe Rogan, Kristin Cavallari, Nick Viall, Katharine McPhee and David Foster and more.
McPhee and Foster held a lavish fundraiser in support of Spencer’s campaign in their Brentwood Park backyard earlier this week.
At the event, McPhee sang to the guests, changing the lyrics to Tina Turner’s 1989 classic, “The Best.”
“You’re simply the best / Better than all the rest / Better than Karen Bass / And Nithya Raman,” she sang.
Not everyone, however, is getting behind the campaign. Spencer’s sister, Stephanie Pratt, has urged Los Angeles residents not to vote for her brother.
“Spencer has done great work for the Palisades. But LA does not need another unqualified and inexperienced mayor,” Stephanie, 40, wrote via X in February. She added, “A vote for him is a vote for stupidity.”
