Who Survived the Fire? John Slattery Weighs in on His ‘Vladimir’ Character’s Ambiguous Fate
Though best known for playing womanizing advertising executive Roger Sterling in Mad Men, a role that earned him four Emmy nominations, John Slattery has had a long and expansive career. From starring in the prestigious Best Picture winner Spotlight to becoming a staple of the MCU as Howard Stark to popping up in critically acclaimed comedies like Veep, Arrested Development, and 30 Rock, his work spans just about every genre and medium imaginable.
His newest project is Netflix’s miniseries Vladimir, where he plays a professor named John, the husband of the nameless, fourth-wall-breaking protagonist (Rachel Weisz). Undoubtedly problematic yet impossibly charismatic, John finds himself in the middle of a sex scandal when his history of sleeping with students in decades past comes to light, though the fact that he and his wife had an open marriage muddies the ethical waters. Things get even more complicated when his wife starts falling for a younger colleague named Vladimir, though not always in ways you might expect.
Collider got the chance to speak with Slattery about his morally grey character. During the conversation, he also discussed improvising with Weisz, fistfighting with Leo Woodall, what he makes of that ambiguous ending, and what fans can expect from his new comedy film, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, which sees him playing a heightened version of himself and will be released on July 10th.
John Slattery Doesn’t Think His ‘Vladimir’ Character Is a Monster
“It gives you a pretty good leg to play it.”
COLLIDER: One of my favorite scenes of the whole show comes in the pilot, where John compares the Kardashians to a Greek tragedy, namely because I think he actually makes some pretty good points. I’m curious if you share your character’s thoughts on reality TV.
JOHN SLATTERY: I suppose under the theory that nothing is original — that everything’s been done at least once. I’m not a watcher of the Kardashians, so I was just trusting Taylor Gates Julia [May Jonas]. She’s such a great writer, and it’s such a funny idea. Of course, he makes a good point. He wouldn’t have argued it if he didn’t think he could make a good, convincing argument.
Speaking to the writing, every character is so morally gray, complex, and flawed, and John is definitely no exception. How much sympathy and understanding did you have for him, particularly when it comes to the sex scandal with the students?
SLATTERY: I think it’s all there. He says, “I haven’t laid a hand on anybody in 20 years,” and when he did, it was consensual. These women were of age. Yes, now, you would go, “There’s a power dynamic, and it’s an abuse of power,” and that’s true, but then, they weren’t considering that, so I think he believes that he hasn’t done anything wrong. Especially considering that they have an arrangement between the two of them, which is nobody else’s business but theirs. It gives you a pretty good leg to play it. I’m not looking for sympathy, necessarily, any more than the character is warranted to elicit. He’s charmingly written in some aspects. He has a good sense of humor, so you kind of gotta let the cards fall where they fall.
I feel like his relationship with his daughter is really interesting. Sid seems to be closer to him in a lot of ways than her mother, and it turns out that she’s sort of a mirror to him with some of her actions. I’m curious how you approached their dynamic.
SLATTERY: Ellen [Robertson] is a great actress. She’s so cool, and open, and loose, and fun to act with. I think there’s some guilt on the part of John about tangling her up in this thing, though she’s a legal expert. They say, “Do you have the money for a lawyer? Because I don’t.” They have their reasons, but they are self-serving. At the end, he expresses real remorse — “I think I fucked it up. I shouldn’t have dragged her into it.” It doesn’t seem the most common-sense decision to involve your daughter in what is going to be an opening up of the details of a sex scandal. You wouldn’t want anybody to know about it — the details of it — let alone your daughter, so it’s not a great decision.
John Slattery Loved Working With the “Really Funny” Rachel Weisz
“Rachel’s just fantastic as far as, ‘Do whatever you wanna do, and I’ll react.’”
The dynamic between John and M is equally interesting. He suspects that she might be falling in love with Vladimir, and instead of that causing conflict, it sort of rekindles a spark between them. Can you talk about that aspect of their relationship?
SLATTERY: I asked Julia about it in the beginning. “Who is this guy? What kind of music does he listen to? What does he read?” She was answering a bunch of questions, and then she wrote me a text that was like a paragraph, and then I showed it to my wife. She said, “This guy is not like my husband, but the more he’s in the wrong, the angrier he gets. The harder he argues,” which I understood.
He consistently has to explain himself. “Where are you going?” “I’m off to see a friend.” Those things are ongoing. She lets him off the hook by being infatuated with Vladimir. He’s not the only one exercising the freedom of the agreement. The difference between the relationships — and it’s the interesting part of the progression of the show — is that his relationships haven’t been, quote, “love relationships.” They’ve been more transactional or less emotional. Hers have been. You find out that she almost left with David after having had a kid with me years ago, and this relationship is deeper than the ones I’m having. I feel like it’s sort of titillating to John, and then his feelings get hurt, and his ego gets bruised. How would it not? This young guy is showing up and pushing the old guy out the door.
Do you think that’s the reason he asked to recommit in the finale? Is it an ego thing, or do you think there’s more to it than that?
SLATTERY: I think they all come to realizations about each other. Certainly, in the book — it’s different from the show, the book — but I think it’s a little grasping. I guess it brings in a question: How realistic is the ongoing relationship between Vladimir and M? Does he see that this isn’t gonna go anywhere? He’s married, he’s got a kid, and their relationship is better than they thought. His wife and I aren’t having an affair. We’re maybe stuck with each other, so if we recommit to monogamy, maybe we can survive it. But it seems a little desperate.
One of my favorite gags is John tending to his garden and having beef with that deer coming and eating the vegetables. There are so many great moments of comedy between you and Rachel, particularly in those scenes. How much room did you have to improvise and play with her in those moments?
SLATTERY: Total freedom. It was all in the script, but Rachel’s just fantastic as far as, “Do whatever you wanna do, and I’ll react,” and likewise. And Julia is not at all precious. As good as her writing is, if you had an idea, she’d totally be open to it, so there was a lot of freedom on the set just to explore stuff. And Rachel’s really funny.
John is also a writer and is working on an epic poem. What kind of stuff do you think he writes about? What’s the writing style?
SLATTERY: I asked Julia that. Some of it is in the script. She says, “What’s your poem about?” And he says, “It’s what all old writers write about — getting old.” “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock” and “Do I dare to eat a peach?” Dylan Thomas’ “Do not go gentle into that good night.” Trying to stay alive and what it’s like to be alive.
John Slattery Explains That Insane ‘Vladimir’ Finale and Speculates About His Character’s Fate
“That’s the best sort of ending.”
The finale sees John and Vladimir physically going at it. What was that stuntwork like with Leo?
SLATTERY: He dragged me out of that chair so fast and threw me on the floor. Leo’s a big person. We’re great friends, and it was safe and all, but when he grabbed me and whipped me down on the floor, I was like, “Wow, this dude is not small. He’s very strong.” But it was fun. Those lines — “You’re so sexy when you’re angry” — some of them were in the script, and some of them, we were just fooling around, and they kept them.
That makes me appreciate them so much more. The protagonist tells us that both John and Vladimir escaped the fire; however, she has been known to maybe stretch the truth and lie to us a little bit. Do you think John did actually indeed make it out?
SLATTERY: I hope so. Obviously, different from the book. I like the ending. That’s the best sort of ending. We shot some other stuff, which I won’t go into, because you want to leave the audience with the best impression, which I think is that ending. You want to be wondering, and like you say, she has got her own version of the truth. But for the character’s sake, I hope he makes it out. Vladimir, I could give a shit about, but I hope I get out.
What do you think his relationship with his wife and daughter look like after the events of the show if he escapes?
SLATTERY: He offers the “let’s recommit to this thing” because it is a loving relationship. They do respect each other. They do love each other. They have whatever the arrangement they had, and whoever’s idea it was — John maintains that it was M’s idea the whole time — they could grow old together. I think his relationship with Sid will be okay, too. It was embarrassing, and it was mortifying, but again, he’s not a monster. It could end up being fine.
I saw Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass at Sundance this year. It was one of my absolute favorite screenings to attend. What is the most fun part of playing a fictionalized version of yourself? I feel like not that many people get to do that in their careers.
SLATTERY: It almost could have been anybody. I mean, it was just such a funny character. The specifics of my relationship with Jon Hamm is funny, and it was the most fun. We had a great time. We shot it in a very short amount of time for very little money, but David Wain and Ken Marino are so smart and have done it many times, so it never felt rushed. It always felt loose and like we had time to goof around and find something alternate to what was written. It was just a gas. We had a great time.

General Hospital SHOCKER: Cassius Faison’s Secret Exposed – Revenge Plot Revealed!
General Hospital reveals the not Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) was finally identified as his twin brother, Cassius Faison. And of course, we know that Nathan was a good guy, a really good guy. But what about his twin Cas? Is he the evil twin? Or was he just raised by someone evil? Cesar Faison, of course.
We’re going to talk about what we know about Nathan’s mystery twin brother and whether Cassius is Faison 2.0 or maybe Nathan 2.0 and he isn’t quite so bad. And honestly, maybe the answer lies somewhere in between and the answer may actually be shifting.
The Big General Hospital Reveal: Cassius Faison!
So, this week we finally found out as we suspected pretty much from the moment Ryan Paevey came back that Nathan was a fake. And General Hospital finally confirmed it six months after they brought Ryan back. And it all happened when Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) summoned not-Nathan to Wyndemere and then called him his real name, Cassius Faison.
That entire conversation with Sidwell delivered a whole treasure trove of information. He told Cassius he’s done a great job fooling everyone into believing he’s Nathan. It was also clear from that conversation that he works for Sidwell, not vice versa, nor are they partners.
And then there was a new interview I saw with Ryan Paevey that confirms that Cas is a henchman. He said that he’s working for Sidwell and for their big boss Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). And we found out from General Hospital that Cas has been working for Sidwell for a good long while.
Also, it’s interesting that it was Cas’ own idea for him to take over his twin brother’s life and get back inside the PCPD and get close to a lot of people in Port Charles. And so, Sidwell was praising him for coming up with the idea and actually carrying it off so well.
GH Shocker: Cassius’ Deep Infiltration of Port Charles
So, it looks like Cas is in deep with Sidwell and Cullum and between them they’re infiltrating every aspect of Port Charles. They got the piers. He’s in with the police. Sidwell has influence with the political system. And on top of completing Faison’s final project, all of that, they’re going to have control over so much of Port Charles.
And another twist that showed us how ruthless Cas can be was about the frame job because it turns out that he helped Sidwell frame Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) for Hank Dalton‘s (Daniel Goddard) murder. That’s why he showed up there the night Laura had car trouble. Even worse, Cassius appreciated Sidwell poisoning Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) because he said it made it easier for him to take over Nathan’s life without her there scrutinizing him.
Is Cassius All Bad?
So, these obviously are red flags pointing to Cas being a bad guy, especially since he’s working for uber villains Cullum and Sidwell. But in the end, I don’t think Cas is going to wind up all that bad. Right now though, he is. So, also in the recent interview, Ryan Paevey admitted that Cas is bad. But said not the same way as Faison is.
Also of interest is Ryan said he was specifically hired to play Cas, not Nathan. So in case you thought this was a last minute twist, it wasn’t. This was planned by the General Hospital writers since last year. And it’s also disturbing that Cas agreed with Sidwell that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) needs to be dealt with for compromising the Cold Fusion project.
And Cassius definitely scares Britt. She knew who he was. She knew that was not Nathan right from the start. So, I’m sure he was part of the crew that saved her from the hook death and has been part of them using Britt to complete Faison’s project. And unless they are doing some kind of retcon, Cassius and Britt wouldn’t have grown up together.
Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) was the one who mostly raised Britt trying to keep her away from her dad, although she knew Faison was her father and that he was a really bad guy. And Britt was around him more as an adult and more before he finally died. And Faison though seems to have raised Cas alone. So, there’s definitely more questions there.
General Hospital Backstory: Cassius Never Felt Loved Until Now
Ryan Paevey said Cassius did not grow up in a nice family like his twin brother did. And Ryan said Cassius was never loved or even liked. I mean, Faison’s not exactly warm and fuzzy. And something about pretending to be Nathan has surprised Cas because everybody liked Nathan. Now Cassius is feeling what it’s like to be liked.
Something he never has before. Not only that, over and above like people loved Nathan. So there’s all this positive new emotion and new life experience that Cas is soaking up. I think it’s life-changing. Ryan said that at first playing Nathan was just useful to his bosses Sidwell and Cullum.
So, it started out as a convenient thing. But more than that, Cassius is legit getting attached to both Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and James West (Gary James Fuller). That’s official. And of course, that’s his nephew, not his son.
And that’s part, I think, of why Cas pushed back a little on Sidwell about getting into the PCPD and getting this information about Marco Rios’ (Adrian Anchondo) murder because Cassius wants to make sure he gets to keep living Nathan’s life because he’s enjoying it more and more by the day.

Lulu and James Are His Vulnerability on HH
Ryan Paevey said that Lulu and James are going to be a point of vulnerability for Cas because he worries about Lulu and James and legit wants to protect them. And that’s strange because Cassius has never cared about anybody but himself because he never had a reason to. But he’s already lying for them.
Of course, he knows that Lulu’s son, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), shot Cullum. But he lied right to Sidwell’s face and is letting him think Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) did it. And Cassius is pressuring Lulu to stop looking for Jason and says, “Just just let it go so we can protect Rocco.” But really, that’s moving Cas’s own agenda forward.
But Lulu is going to push back on Cas this week. And she gets mad because she thinks he’s saying that it was somehow Britt and Jason’s fault what happened. So, we’ll see if this gets Lulu wondering what’s up with not Nathan. You know, for instance, Lulu might ask why Nathan hasn’t wondered where he’s been the past seven years, why he hasn’t looked into it since he’s a cop.
Lulu might now find that lack of interest quite strange when she starts thinking about it. Plus, Cassius has slipped up in that trapped in blizzard comment about his dad making him memorize the periodic table of elements.
She could just go back to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and ask, “Did your dad have this thing about the periodic table?” And of course, you know, Nina would say, “No, of course not.” And Nathan loved Britt. That was his sister. And Cassius apparently doesn’t give a damn about her, doesn’t seem to even care about keeping her alive.
Will Cassius Choose Redemption?
So, I think we’re going to see Cassius increasingly torn between Cullum’s agenda and what he wants for his own life, which is to keep being Nathan indefinitely so he can keep Lulu and James, keep being loved. And enjoy things he’s never had in his life. So far, it does look like Cas started out pretty bad.
But I think wearing Nathan’s skin has him soaking up these good vibes that are going to change him. And I think Cassius may get a chance to redeem himself and prove that he can be a good man, too. I mean, never as good as Nathan. But definitely not as bad as Faison.
I’m also excited to know how Nathan and Cas were split up because Liesl hid Nathan with her sister Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) and actor Ryan Paevey said we’re soon going to get a glimpse at the real Cas when he’s not around people who think he’s Nathan and not around his two bad bosses who know who is.
So, I think this reveal honestly came way too late because I think almost every fan had figured out by this point that that wasn’t Nathan. So, it really wasn’t much of a surprise other than finding out his name is Cassius and that he’s a henchman, not a boss. I think it would have been a lot more shocking had they dropped it a couple of months ago. But I am super excited to see where it goes from here.

Zendaya, Rob Pattinson’s The Drama Has Killer Twist: Review
Two out of four stars
Dearly beloved, let’s get this out of the way: The Drama is not for everyone.
The provocative A24 film, written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, asks a charged question: How well do you know your partner? And the week of your wedding, is there anything that person could reveal that would make you question your entire relationship?
Charlie (Robert Pattinson) and Emma (Zendaya) are getting married in just a few days. While relaxing over a bottle of wine with the best man (Mamoudou Athie) and maid of honor (Alana Haim), the foursome get to talking about the worst things they’ve ever done — think cyberbullying and beyond.
No spoilers here, but the big reveal that happens just moments into the film, in theaters beginning April 3, is a gasp-worthy twist that upends all the rom-com marketing. While the initial sharp dialogue between the two couples suggests an intriguing, boundary-pushing drama, The Drama ultimately fails to become more interesting than its twisted opening moments, despite a handful of sick, delicious gags throughout its 105 minutes.
The black comedy clearly courts controversy — there’s already plenty of it online, and you can Google the opening twist if you’d like — but it’s unable to move much beyond surface-level shock, even with an assist from some particularly grisly moments. (Squeamish viewers, beware!)

The Drama A24
Zendaya and especially Pattinson deploy their best movie-star charisma and settle into a disconcerting chemistry that intermittently succeeds in getting viewers to feel for them and their strange circumstances. Particularly great among the cast is a seething Haim (Licorice Pizza) as Emma’s maid of honor. She manages to perfectly calibrate the uncomfortable energy ricocheting around the movie and make it work, drawing unsettling laughs and shock from her handful of scenes. Alas, too often the movie strands its cast (including a funny, game Zoë Winters as the wedding photographer) in a script that circles the same provocation, leaving the final moments to never quite gel.
Weddings often bring disparate people and ideas together, but this one isn’t ever able to fully meld its deconstruction of the love plot with a uniquely American horror show.
The film is currently sitting at an 80 percent positive on Rotten Tomatoes. Below, what other critics had to say about The Drama.
The New York Post: “The Drama, for all its heat, is not perfect. I wasn’t won over by its climactic series of calamities that fall in rapid succession like dominoes at the end. However, most movies are completely forgotten by the time the credits roll. This one, like it or not, lingers for days. It’ll likely wind up one of the most controversial movies of the year.”
IndieWire: “The brilliance of Kristoffer Borgli’s The Drama, or at least the brilliance of the sketch comedy-adjacent conceit that it exploits to mixed results, is rooted in the fact that Emma’s confession is impossible to laugh off completely. Like the impish anti-romance that crumbles around it, the movie’s twist is both transgressive enough to be pleased with itself and also rooted in a reality that refuses to be dismissed as a bad joke. It’s shocking, yes, but mostly because it’s rare to see a mainstream film so eager to stick out its tongue and lick one of the last genuine third rails of American discourse.”
The Hollywood Reporter: “In disappointing reality, though, the film is merely a differently dressed rehash of very familiar material. It’s a deceptively simple dramedy of cold feet, of pre-wedding jitters, only given the stain of higher-minded, more piercing social inquiry. What Emma specifically discloses ultimately doesn’t matter.”

‘The Pitt’ Just Changed My Mind About the Show’s Most Hated Character in 5 Minutes
Editor’s note: The below contains spoilers for The Pitt Season 2 Episode 13.
Unlike other medical shows such as ER and Grey’s Anatomy, The Pitt doesn’t travel outside the hospital and follow its characters home to their personal lives. With each episode covering one hour of a 15-hour shift in real time, what you see is what you get. The focus of the HBO Max series is the chaos of the job, where anything can happen, and what the viewer learns about a character is often through how they react to the day’s stress. With three hours remaining in Season 2, Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (Noah Wyle) is veering toward a breakdown, and charge nurse Dana Evans (Katherine LaNasa) isn’t far behind.
The Pitt has a wide array of memorable personality traits across its fictional doctors and nurses, but most of the characters are redeemable in their own way, except for one: James Ogilvie (Lucas Iverson). No shade to the actor who plays him; Iverson does a superb job at being an insufferable jerk, but the fourth-year resident is cocky, overly competitive, and never shows much care for anyone, patients included. However, after The Pitt Season 2’s latest episode, I’ve changed my opinion on the guy, with one scene in particular making me want to see him succeed and even return for Season 3.
There’s Very Little to Like About Ogilvie on ‘The Pitt’ Season 2
Not everyone on The Pitt is someone you’d want to have a beer with after work, but the characters still feel like real people, flaws and all. Even Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi), who initially enters Season 2 as an interim replacement for Robby who talks up the advantages of A.I., becomes someone worth caring about in every revealing scene. The same can’t really be said for Ogilvie, who has been infuriating from his very first appearance. A few other newbies have shown up during this Fourth of July shift as well, like new nurse Emma Nolan (Laëtitia Hollard) and super smart third-year med student Joy Kwon (Irene Choi). Next to them, Ogilvie seems to view his job as an opportunity for competition. Rather than being concerned with learning, he wants to one-up his colleagues. When given cases with the more experienced Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez), Ogilvie would rather deliver the right answer before she does than initiate any meaningful collaboration.
’The Pitt’s Noah Wyle Shuts Down Romance Rumors in Official Season 3 Update
Don’t expect a wedding episode.
Even worse is how Ogilvie treats the patients who have ended up in the Pitt this season. He judges first and treats second, questioning their actions to their face with the implication that it’s all their fault they’ve ended up in this predicament. When the gregarious Louie Cloverfield (Ernest Harden Jr.) dies, his years of alcoholism having caught up with him, it’s heartbreaking for both the audience and the characters, but Ogilvie’s response to learning the news of Louie’s passing is to make snarky comments about it. At one point, his behavior gets so bad that Dr. Cassie McKay (Fiona Dourif) has to tell him to cut it out.
An Important Conversation With Whitaker in ‘The Pitt’s Latest Episode Brings Out the Best in Ogilvie
Ogilvie could’ve remained more one-dimensional for the remainder of Season 2, but it felt like it was just a matter of time before his situation reached a breaking point. Perhaps someone would lash out physically, or a moody Robby would give him a stern talking-to. Instead, Ogilvie is blindsided by reality after he finally lets someone past his walls. When Ogilvie meets a patient named Austin Green (Johnny Sneed), his closed-off facade begins to crack. Austin, who is seemingly being seen for treatment of kidney stones, is an English teacher, same as Ogilvie’s own father. The fourth-year resident, who thought he’d be in for a slow day, pulls out a book from his pocket and gives it to Austin to read, a kind act for a man in pain who needs a distraction to pass the time.
However, the cause of Austin’s pain turns out to be much more serious, and the man is rushed into surgery, only to die on the operating table. When Dr. Dennis Whitaker (Gerran Howell) and Dr. Trinity Santos (Isa Briones) discuss the outcome, Santos, never one to hold back, blames the hospital’s network being offline, the patient not disclosing his past serious issues, and even Ogilvie for not asking the right questions. Whitaker, the kindest of the bunch, goes looking for Ogilvie and finds him outside in the ambulance bay, still wearing his blood-stained gown from surgery, tears silently streaming from his eyes. The reveal is an unexpected jolt and hard to watch.
Ogilvie doesn’t know if he can take another day like this one, but Whitaker admits that he loves taking care of people on the worst day of their lives. For once, Ogilvie truly listens. He might be like a lot of young newbies, coming in cocky and not expecting to do much, using a bad attitude as a form of deflection before meeting the one patient who changes everything. For Ogilvie, it took losing a man who reminded him of his own father to reveal deeper layers to his character, and Episode 13’s pivotal scene between him and Whitaker makes it impossible for me to hate him now. If we ever see Ogilvie again, he won’t be the same person who first appeared on The Pitt Season 2.

Kelly Ripa Reveals Beauty Procedure That Fell Flat
Kelly Ripa is opening up about a cosmetic procedure that didn’t go as planned and she’s not holding anything back.
During a recent episode of her “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast, the TV host revealed she tried microneedling on a very unexpected area in hopes of improving her appearance.
Instead, the treatment left her unimpressed. With her usual humor, Ripa shared exactly what happened, while also revisiting her past cosmetic choices and candid moments from her life with husband Mark Consuelos.
Kelly Ripa Reveals Cosmetic Procedure That Didn’t Go As Planned

Kelly Ripa got candid about a beauty treatment that fell flat while speaking on her “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast.
During a conversation with Lukas Gage, she revealed she tried microneedling on her “*ss cheeks” in hopes of achieving a more lifted and youthful look.
The results, however, were not what she expected. Ripa admitted the procedure didn’t make any noticeable difference, saying her backside looked “as old as before.”
Still, she didn’t shy away from poking fun at herself, joking that “desperate times call for desperate measures.”
Ripa Shares Honest Thoughts On Cosmetic Enhancements
Kelly Ripa has built a reputation for being open about her approach to cosmetic procedures.
From small treatments to bigger possibilities, she has shared her evolving mindset over the years.
Earlier this year, she revealed she had Botox injected into her armpits, an unusual choice that quickly got people talking.
She has also mentioned that a facelift could be something she considers in the future, showing she’s not opposed to change.
However, when it comes to breast enhancement, Ripa remains hesitant.
Speaking on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast in 2025, she explained her hesitation, saying, “We know that I’m flat-chested. It’s not a mystery at this point. It’s almost a point of pride.”
The actress admitted that curiosity still led her to consultations. “Like, every time I hear about the new boob guy, I go, and I have a consult,” she shared.
However, after seeing negative outcomes, she added, “It, like, talks me right out of it.”
Kelly Ripa Keeps It Real About Marriage And Everyday Life

Ripa’s honesty extends beyond beauty into her personal life, especially her relationship with husband Mark Consuelos. The couple often shares playful and relatable moments from their daily routine.
One of the TV host’s most talked-about jokes involves her nighttime habit, which she revealed during a conversation on “Live with Kelly and Mark.”
She explained that when she puts in her retainer, it sends a clear message, saying per the Daily Mail, “He hears the retainer pop in, it’s like a chastity belt.”
Consuelos added his own take, joking, “When you put it in, it’s like, click, click, click. Alright, guess I’m going to bed.”
Their banter didn’t stop there. During a conversation about koalas, Consuelos joked, “I come to bed with my little eucalyptus leaf, and I’m like, ‘Hey, you want to fool around? No? Okay.’”
The couple has also been open about their preferences, with Ripa explaining she prefers evenings over mornings.
“There needs to be a yin and a yang here… And my way’s at night only,” she said, before joking about how “repulsive” mornings can feel.
Howie Mandel Says He ‘Kind Of Regrets’ Apologizing To Ripa

Recently Kelly Ripa made the headlines after Howie Mandel admitted he regrets publicly apologizing to her after their awkward on-air exchange, saying the move didn’t feel true to him.
As The Blast reported, the comedian said he didn’t believe comedians should apologize for jokes, explaining, “I don’t believe in apologizing.”
He also added that he “kind of” regretted making the apology in the first place. He explained that the backlash escalated quickly online, and he felt pressured to respond before the situation grew worse.
According to Mandel, he tried to calm things down by agreeing with critics and taking responsibility, even though he didn’t think his comment was offensive.
However, the apology didn’t stop the conversation, and in hindsight, he believed it may have drawn even more attention to the moment.
He also admitted he still didn’t fully understand why the reaction was so intense, stressing that his intent was humor, not insult.
What Really Happened Between Mandel And Kelly Ripa On-Air

The awkward exchange happened on “Live with Kelly and Mark” when Consuelos noted Mandel had just turned 70, and Kelly Ripa added that it “doesn’t make any sense,” praising how youthful he looked. Consuelos followed up by telling him he “look[s] great.”
Instead of accepting the compliment, Mandel pushed back immediately, saying, “I don’t like that,” and arguing that it sounded like a backhanded remark.
He explained that saying someone looked great at 70 came with a hidden meaning, insisting they were implying “for your age.”
He then compared it to calling someone “smart for a stupid person,” which created an awkward pause and nervous laughter in the studio.
Ripa tried to clarify that she meant he looked great overall, not just for his age, but Mandel continued to question the compliment before eventually joking, “I’m gorgeous,” easing the tension.
Following the awkward conversation, Mandel made a post on Instagram, explaining his comments and apologizing for his actions.

Andy Cohen Slammed For Defending West Wilson, Amanda Batula
Bravo figurehead Andy Cohen is facing heat for defending West Wilson and Amanda Batula.
Wilson and Batula, cast members on “Summer House,” have been the talk of the town over the last few days after confirming they’ve been in a secret relationship.
On an episode of “Andy Cohen Live,” the “Real Housewives” executive producer issued a warning to Bravo viewers as they continue to process the surprising information.
Andy Cohen Appears To Defend West Wilson, Amanda Batula In New Statement About Their Relationship
Cohen seemed dejected while speaking with his co-host, John Hill, about Wilson and Batula’s secretive relationship. While he didn’t share his personal opinion on the matter, he reminded fans to be gentle with the two reality stars.
“I do think it’s worth reminding all the passionate fans of the show that these are real people involved,” he said in a clip reshared online. “And so, these are real people involved.”
Hill pushed back a bit, reminding Cohen that reality stars sign up for the “pile on” at times, which Cohen acknowledged before reiterating that things shouldn’t cross a certain line.
“That’s kind of what I’m saying,” he said. “There’s a middle ground. You can thread, but just know these are real people who are dealing with a lot.”
Bravo Enthusiasts Blast Cohen For Telling Viewers To Take It Easy
The passionate Bravo fans Cohen addressed were unimpressed by his statement, and many criticized him on social media.
“I don’t know why he feels the need to ‘remind folks’ that they’re people too,” someone wrote. “That just p-ssed me off. We aren’t all a bunch of dummies, Andrew. Get yo life!”
Another user said, “Chile, it’s not even that deep. Raquel got it 10x worse [and] like the other hose said, this comes with reality TV, especially in the year 2026.”
A third user reminded Cohen that his cast members are “paid for our views.” They added, “Obvi, I’m not cool with threats, but we can gossip.”
Someone else called Cohen’s take “b-llsh-t” and said they weren’t “interested in seeing anyone protect West or Amanda this reunion, especially Cohen!”
West Wilson And Amanda Bataula Confirm Their Relationship

Batula confirmed her separation from her ex, Kyle Cooke, in January 2026, while Wilson was navigating his complicated relationship with fellow “Summer House” cast member and ex, Ciara Miller, just months ago.
According to The Blast, Wilson and Batula confirmed their new relationship earlier this week after speculation about them began to swirl.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” they shared in a joint post. “It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we need a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care,” the post continued.
Dave Portnoy Calls Out ‘Summer House’ Cast Members For ‘Snake’ Behavior

In addition to social media users, public figures are also speaking out, according to The Blast.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy opened up about the issue and criticized Batula for being a “treacherous snake.”
“Amanda and Ciara are, like, best friends,” Portnoy said. “I guess Amanda in interviews [says], ‘Ciara is my most loyal friend.’ I guess West maybe was playing around with Ciara’s feelings [when they dated in 2023], fine.”
Cooke Comments On West Wilson, Amanda Batula Scandal
Cooke also broke his silence on the matter, saying, “I’ve talked to her — before they put the statement out, she gave me a heads-up, and I talked to her last night.”
He added, “I understand people have all sorts of opinions, and I’m not justifying any behavior, but from where I’m standing, she’s kind of getting cyber-bullied.”
According to Cooke, he’s “frustrated” by the situation and “disappointed” in Batula, but asks for viewers to dial back.
“… just hearing her and how unwell she is — [having] dark thoughts — I just ask people to maybe let off the gas a little bit with the cyberbullying and hate,” he said.

Lori Loughlin ‘Dating Again’ After Mossimo Giannulli Split
Lori Loughlin seems to be moving on already after her bitter split from estranged husband Mossimo Giannulli, as reports claim she’s back on the dating scene but is “keeping things light and casual.”
The “Full House” alum is understood to harbor resentment towards him still, as insiders claim their marriage never survived the Varsity Blues college admissions scandal they faced.
Meanwhile, Mossimo Giannulli has been spotted several times with much younger stylist Hannah Harrison, but the pair has denied there’s anything romantic going on between them.
Lori Loughlin Is Ready To Move On Following Split From Mossimo Giannulli

Loughlin is reportedly back on the dating scene, barely six months after she separated from Mossimo Giannulli.
According to Us Weekly, sources close to the 61-year-old actress shared on Wednesday that “she has been putting herself back out there … and is dating again,” but isn’t quite in a rush as she’s “just having fun and keeping things light and casual.”
Loughlin is also understood to be in a better place mentally, as the insider explained that she “feels like she got her spark back” after her split from the 62-year-old designer.
“[She] is in such a good headspace lately,” the source said. “The dust has settled, and she’s really leaning into this season of life, enjoying her independence, spending a lot of time with her girls, and having fun.”
News of Loughlin’s return to the dating scene came after she shocked fans with her stunning look during a recent red carpet appearance. At the time, the actress’s face had fans questioning if she had gotten work done due to how youthful she looked.
The Actress Is Leaning On Her Girlfriends To Move On

The “When Calls The Heart” actress got all the help she needed to move on from the heartbreaking split in her girl pals, as the insider said they’ve been instrumental in her return to finding love again.
“Her friends are always trying to set her up,” the source told the news outlet, adding that Loughlin is “just having fun with it all. She feels her life has gotten better and less heavy recently.”
It’s been 6 months since her split from Giannulli went public, but the estranged couple has yet to officially file for divorce, even though they’ve been living apart since then.
Fans may have to wait a while longer before she gets together with someone else, as reports claim she’s “still kind of shaking off her divorce, but she has been leaning on her girlfriends and having fun.”
“She is not dating anyone seriously,” the insider reiterated.
Lori Loughlin Has Been Making Major Appearances At Red Carpet Events

Signs that the actress has been privately healing from her marital breakdown were evident when she stepped out for the Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s Unforgettable Evening gala early last month.
The “Fuller House” alum wowed fans with her noticeably younger look, draped in a plunging black and white dress while leaving her hair to flow freely.
She attended the gala with the two daughters she shares with Giannulli, Olivia Jade, and Isabella, who are both understood to be taking their mom’s side in the fallout with their dad.
Loughlin’s split from Giannulli brought about the end of their 28-year marriage after she found “incriminating” texts and emails on his phone. However, reports also claimed their marriage never survived the blowback from their 2019 Varsity Blues college admissions scandal.
The Varsity Blues Scandal Rocked Their Home

Loughlin and Giannulli admitted to paying $500,000 in bribes to falsely designate their two daughters as part of the rowing team to secure admission to the University of Southern California (USC). They were subsequently arrested and served prison time for the crime.
“The school scandal was a turning point, and they never really connected or recovered their relationship after that,” an insider told Page Six, adding that Loughlin felt he “got her involved” in the situation.
“She didn’t fully blame him, but he spearheaded it,” the source also shared, noting that Loughlin “never fully forgave him and never fully got over it.”
Reports also claimed her friends were angry with him as he allegedly “used” her for years.
“Mossimo had used Lori for years,” one of her friends told the news outlet. “She was hoping maybe he would change when he got out of prison, but he got worse.”
Mossimo Giannulli Has Been Linked To Hannah Harrison Since His Split From Lori Loughlin

To add salt to injury, she reportedly found “incriminating” texts and emails on his phone that left their marriage shaken.
In fact, a source told People Magazine back in January that she was “still extremely angry” with him, even though he “wants everything resolved quietly” and thinks she is “a lovely person and an incredible mom” to their daughters.
While Loughlin is keeping things casual, Giannulli has already been linked to much younger stylist Hannah Harrison. Although they’ve shunned speculations of a romance and described their relationship as platonic, the two have been seen together frequently since the split, most recently at Lynx Coffee in Los Angeles back in February.
“I feel like it was bad timing. I went to the [G/FORE Supply] store not knowing that his separation had been announced,” Harrison told Us Weekly back in October. “I was going there to meet him.”
“We did not drive together. We drove separately,” she added.

Chris Hughes Faces Debt Questions Amid JoJo Siwa Romance
Chris Hughes is back in the spotlight, but this time, it’s not just about his love life.
As his romance with JoJo Siwa continues to make headlines, new details about his finances are drawing attention behind the scenes.
The former “Love Island” star, who built a career through TV and endorsements, is now facing scrutiny over significant company debts, legal issues, and a stalled attempt to shut down his business.
Chris Hughes Faces Major Debt Linked To His Company

Chris Hughes may have found fame on “Love Island,” but his financial situation tells a more complicated story.
After leaving the show in 2017, he launched Chris Hughes Associates Ltd, a company tied to his growing media career.
However, recent accounts revealed serious financial trouble. According to a report from the Daily Mail, the company owed £423,243 ($559,774) to creditors for the year ending July 31, 2024.
The bulk of that, £409,057 ($540,984) was listed under “taxation and social security costs,” with additional amounts tied to bank loans and overdrafts.
The situation escalated when the tax authority, His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs, took action, filing a petition in August 2024 to have the company wound up.
Although the case was dismissed in April 2025, the debt itself remained unresolved.
Hughes Attempts To Close Company Amid Legal Issues

Chris Hughes later tried to shut down the company himself, but that effort was blocked by a creditor, believed to be HMRC.
As a result, the closure process has been put on hold, leaving the company’s future uncertain.
The financial strain wasn’t the only issue. The business also failed to submit a required confirmation statement to Companies House by July 22, 2025.
While it may seem like a minor administrative step, failing to file it is considered a criminal offense.
Despite these setbacks, Hughes has maintained a public presence and is reportedly worth around £1.4 million ($1.85 million) from his television work, brand deals, and media appearances.
Chris Hughes’ Career Moves And JoJo Siwa Romance Add Contrast

Besides his finances, Hughes has also faced changes in his career. After working on ITV’s horse racing coverage since 2019, a role he once described as his “dream,” he was quietly dropped from the lineup.
Addressing speculation online, Hughes pushed back on claims about money being the issue, writing, “Just FYI, press reports were not true around this. I never once asked for more money.”
He added, “I was simply told they were cost cutting across sport… and I was one of them that was removed.” In a surprising admission, he said, “I even offered to work for free at one of the festivals.”
At the same time, his personal life has taken a different turn. Hughes is now dating JoJo Siwa, a global star with an estimated net worth of around £18 million.
The pair first met in April 2025 while appearing on “Celebrity Big Brother UK,” where they quickly formed a close bond that fans initially saw as friendship.
After the show, their connection deepened, and by June 2025, Siwa confirmed their romance, saying it was “not platonic anymore” and calling it a “beautiful connection.”
Since then, their relationship has grown publicly, with appearances together, trips, and shared projects.
Siwa Reveals Boyfriend Hughes Inspired Her New Love Song

Recently, JoJo Siwa put her love life into her music, revealing that Chris Hughes inspired her new song “Serendipity.”
As The Blast reported, the singer described the reality TV star as her “very sweet love,” explaining that their relationship felt meant to be.
She shared, “The inspiration behind that is my very sweet love Christopher,” adding that their connection felt like “serendipity,” which is also his favorite word.
Siwa said their relationship came at the right time, noting that “when it’s meant to be, it is,” and that their bond grew naturally after meeting on “Celebrity Big Brother UK.”
The song, set for release on April 7, reflects that feeling, capturing how their lives came together unexpectedly.
JoJo Siwa Reveals Sweet Moment She Knew Chris Hughes Was ‘The One’

Months before her revelation, Siwa shared the sweet moment she realized her relationship with Chris Hughes had turned into real love, and it all clicked because of unexpected advice.
According to a report from The Blast, the “Karma” singer recalled something Meghan Trainor once told her, noting, “You will know you love somebody when you love them so much you want to duplicate them and you want to pop a baby out that is made from them.”
Siwa admitted that those words suddenly made sense just months into dating Hughes. “I get what you’re saying now,” she said, adding, “I love [Chris] so much. I need there to be a mini [Chris].”
Her feelings only grew stronger when Hughes sent her a childhood photo of himself, which she couldn’t stop gushing over.
She also laughed about an AI image of their future kids, calling his reaction a “hilarious mixup.”
For Siwa, it wasn’t just romance; it was the kind of love that made her imagine a future.
