Wife Slams Rumors Of Church Paying For Wedding
Bishop Marvin Sapp wed Dr. La’Boris Cole recently in a lavish wedding that included a helicopter arrival. Photos of the grandiose celebration had social media speculating about every detail, down to the cost! Well, Dr. Sapp cleared the air on Easter Sunday during the service, denying that church money funded their wedding.

Yes, The Wedding Was Tea!
Essence covered the Sapp wedding, revealing that the couple wed on March 20 at his church, The Chosen Vessel. He reportedly wore two suits with red bottoms that day, while she donned a princess-style, strapless gown with a long veil. Dr. La’Boris arrived in a helicopter. And the wedding was a black-tie affair, complete with a ballerina performance. Soon, the internet started yapping about the celebration’s luxurious elements.
Dr. La’Boris Cole Sapp Says Her Husband Is “Integral”
So, while speaking to the congregation on Sunday, Dr. La’Boris reportedly thanked her husband for accepting her in full and never making it a competition between them.
“Make sure you know who you’re marrying, that you don’t marry somebody trying to compete with you. So, Bishop, thank you so much for taking all of me, all that came with me, ministry, goofy, loud, happy, loving,” she said.
La’Boris added that Marvin Sapp is a good man who doesn’t defraud the church. “You don’t take or rob the church. The church didn’t pay for the wedding, y’all stop lying. God’s been good to me.”
Dr. La’Boris speaking on her husband’s character comes a year after his “close the doors” controversy. At the time, video surfaced of him encouraging a conference crowd in 2024 to donate to the church, and encouraging what appeared to be ushers to “close the doors.” He said on the ‘Rickey Smiley Morning Show’ last year that the resurfaced footage led to death threats against his family. However, he clarified that the donations went back to the church’s conference budget, denying that he cashed in on any of it.
“I’m not walking around here trying to be a pimp. I’m not trying to take advantage of people. That’s never been my passion. I’m serious about ministry,” Marvin Sapp explained on the morning show.

Marvin Sapp’s Wife Slams Rumors About Helicopter Arrival
In addition to clearing up their wedding’s funding, Dr. La’Boris Cole Sapp also addressed her unique wedding entrance. The helicopter. Mrs. Sapp clarified that she bought the helicopter, not her husband. She added that “everybody’s not broke and everybody don’t need the church’s money.” Dr. La’Boris said she’s surrendered her life to God who has blessed her and the bishop with “multiple streams of income” outside of the church. “When he wasn’t getting paid here, God still blessed him,” she told the congregation on Resurrection Sunday.
“I told God a long time ago, I’m not going to serve you and your people and I’m broke,” she said, as reported by theJasmineBrand.

Dwayne Johnson’s $474M Box Office Smash Officially Returns to Free Streaming
Dwayne Johnson has been busy lately. The soon-to-be Disney Legend award recipient has two films coming out this year and will be making his return for the final Fast & Furious movie. Now, one of the actor’s underrated sci-fi dramas is heading to a new streaming platform and will be available for free.
Throughout Johnson’s decades-long acting career, the wrestler has appeared in many projects. He made his acting debut in an episode of That ’70s Show and first appeared on the big screen in the 2001 feature, The Mummy Returns, where he played The Scorpion King. Since then, he has starred in franchises such as Jumanji and the DCU, as well as appearing in many Disney titles, including Hannah Montana, Race to Witch Mountain, and Wizards of Waverly Place. But if there is one genre Johnson is known for, it’s action and thriller movies, and one of them has found a new streaming home.
San Andreas is a 2015 disaster thriller that grossed over $475 million worldwide. Johnson plays Ray Gaines, a helicopter rescue pilot for the Los Angeles Fire Department, who will do anything to save and protect his family after a series of massive earthquakes along the San Andreas Fault devastate California. Also starring in this film are Carla Gugino (Spy Kids), Alexandra Daddario (Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One and Two), Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four), and Hugo Johnstone-Burt (NCIS: Sydney). Since its release, San Andreas has received mixed reviews, earning a 48% critics score and a 52% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. 11 years later, Johnson fans have another chance to catch this movie as it’s now available to stream on Tubi.
Other Films To Watch If You Like ‘San Andreas’
Before San Andreas entered theaters, there were discussions about what if the fault line were to shift. The film showcases one disastrous version of what could happen if that day were to come, and those depictions were criticized by reviewers and seismologists who went out of their way to separate fact from fiction.
San Andreas is one of many films that attempted to showcase a heavily discussed natural disaster scenario, and there are other titles worth watching that fit the bill. One notable example is 2012, a film that dramatizes the 2012 phenomenon, where it’s predicted that the world will end on December 21, 2012. Another film worth watching that you might not have heard of is Pandora. This 2016 South Korean disaster film, inspired by the 2011 Fukushima Nuclear Accident, but set in a Korean town, follows power plant worker Kang Jae-hyeok (Kim Nam-gil) as he attempts to save lives after an earthquake triggers a nuclear meltdown.
San Andreas is now streaming on Tubi.

Kylie Jenner Hit With Second Lawsuit From Ex-Housekeeper
Kylie Jenner is facing mounting legal pressure after a second former household employee filed a lawsuit against her. The new complaint alleges inhumane working conditions, racial discrimination, harassment, and wage violations.
The legal drama comes as Jenner continues to make headlines for her high-profile relationship with Timothée Chalamet. The pair were recently spotted courtside in New York, fueling ongoing engagement rumors, even as sources suggest Jenner may not be rushing toward marriage.

Jenner is facing another lawsuit from a former household employee, adding to mounting legal pressure surrounding her working environment.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Juana Delgado Soto has filed a lawsuit against Jenner and multiple other entities. The complaint alleges racial discrimination, harassment, and unfair labor practices during Soto’s time working for the reality star.
Soto claims she began working for Jenner in 2019 and was initially subjected to denied rest breaks and missed meal periods. However, she alleges the situation escalated in 2023 when Sibrian became her supervisor.
In the filing, Soto accuses Sibrian of repeatedly treating her with disrespect, including mocking her accent and humiliating her in the workplace. She says she reported the behavior to human resources, which led to Sibrian’s temporary removal.
Housekeeper Claims She Tried To Warn Jenner

Soto claims she attempted to bring the alleged mistreatment directly to Jenner, but the situation only escalated. According to the lawsuit, Sibrian allegedly retaliated against her by reducing her wages, increasing her workload, and altering her schedule.
Soto also claims she was denied time to mourn her brother’s death and missed a planned birthday celebration due to work demands.
In April 2025, Soto says she wrote a letter to Jenner describing what she called unbearable treatment and slipped it into a massage room the beauty mogul was scheduled to use. However, instead of relief, she claims she was threatened with termination.
Kylie Jenner Not Named Directly In Claims

Despite the disturbing allegations, the lawsuit does not make direct claims against Jenner personally. Soto alleges the conditions continued to deteriorate, claiming she was given restricted bathroom access, forced to clean Jenner’s doghouse, and even barred from drinking water while on duty.
Unable to endure the situation any longer, she says she resigned via text in August 2025.
“I am sorry, I cannot do this anymore. Every day you guys mistreat me, and I have bitten all my nails off. I cannot sleep at night, and I always have anxiety because of the way you guys treat me,” the lawsuit quotes.
The latest case comes just weeks after another former housekeeper filed a similar complaint against Jenner, alleging she was treated “with hostility and exclusion,” per PEOPLE.
Jenner Steps Out With Chalamet
Amid the legal drama, Jenner has continued to step out with Chalamet. The couple has been drawing attention in recent months, from her support of the actor during awards season to their PDA-filled moments at Coachella.
Most recently, they were spotted courtside in New York on Tuesday as they watched the New York Knicks take on the Atlanta Hawks, with Chalamet cheering on his home team.
Kylie Jenner ‘Not Ready’ For Marriage With Chalamet

Despite their relationship heating up, Jenner is reportedly not in a rush to walk down the aisle with Chalamet. Rumors of a possible engagement have been swirling, but sources claim she is hesitant about taking that step anytime soon.
“Timothée has talked about proposing to Kylie, but she doesn’t want to get married, at least not yet,” an insider told the Daily Mail, adding that she believes relationships can change after marriage.
The report also claims Chalamet has been seeking advice from Jenner’s inner circle, including her mother Kris Jenner and sister Kendall Jenner, on how to win her over. Another source noted that the couple is currently enjoying their relationship while balancing their careers and business ventures.
Still, Jenner’s family is said to be fully on board with the romance, with insiders claiming they would love to see the pair tie the knot sooner rather than later. According to the report, Chalamet has already grown close to Jenner’s children, Stormi and Aire, and is considered “very involved,” with her family reportedly embracing him as one of their own.

SNL Writer Jimmy Fowlie’s Sister’s Disappearance: Details
Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie revealed in December 2025 that his sister Christina Lynn Downer went missing. He shared a heartbreaking update four months after her disappearance, telling social media followers that she is no longer alive.
Keep scrolling for everything to know:
Who Is ‘SNL’ Writer Jimmy Fowlie?
Fowlie joined Saturday Night Live as a writer in 2022 and became a breakout name behind the scenes thanks to the viral “Domingo” sketch — originally titled “Domingo: Bridesmaid Speech” — which he cowrote with Ceara O’Sullivan. Featuring Marcello Hernández, the sketch first aired in October 2024 when Ariana Grande hosted. Fowlie has also written for A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter and the LGBT-themed web series “Go-Go Boy Interrupted.” In September 2025, Vulture named him one of the comedians “you should and will know in 2025.”
Jimmy Fowlie Reveals Christina Downer’s Disappearance
When Fowlie first went public with details about Downer’s disappearance in December 2025, his message spread through Hollywood. The SNL writer’s industry connections led notable names across comedy and reality TV to amplify his message in real time.
“My sister has been missing and we are worried that she isn’t safe,” Fowlie captioned a social media post at the time. “Her married name is Downer but she may go by Christina Fowlie. Please share this so that if anyone has seen her, they can give any information to the police.”
SNL stars Bowen Yang, Sarah Sherman and Chloe Fineman helped boost the search, joined by Ariana Madix, Angie Harmon, Amy Schumer, Casey Wilson and Wendi McLendon-Covey.
The Last Time Jimmy Fowlie Heard From Christina Downer
Fowlie offered intimate details about his sister’s life in another December 2025 revealing the last time they spoke.
“Christina is very attached to her dog Rex. He’s a min pin and if you see her chances are he’d be with her,” he wrote. “Last seen in Koreatown. I heard from her on Nov 26th. She was active on social media up to Dec 15th.”
The LAPD later confirmed Downer was last contacted via text on December 10, 2025. Officials described her as a 38-year-old woman with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 115 pounds. “The family wants the public to be aware that Christina Downer has no known medical conditions and has not gone missing before,” police said.
Jimmy Fowlie’s Update on Christina Downer
The SNL writer broke the news on April, 29, 2026, that the search for Downer had been adjusted to a homicide investigation.
“The LAPD has informed our family that Christina is no longer alive, and the case has officially transitioned from a missing person to a homicide investigation,” Fowlie wrote on social media. “Our prayers for her to be found safely have transformed into prayers for the truth to be revealed and for those responsible to be held accountable.”
One day later, the LAPD released a statement with new, additional information.
“Robbery-Homicide Division continues to investigate the disappearance of Christina Downer,” LAPD said in a statement to Us Weekly on April 30, 2026. “Although the circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious, Ms. Downer has not been located, and her case has not been reclassified as a homicide. RHD will diligently investigate this case until a resolution can be reached.”
Jimmy Fowlie Shares Details About Christina Downer’s Phone
In his April 2026 update, Fowlie dropped a bombshell allegation about the weeks before Downer vanished.
“We have reason to believe that in the weeks before she went missing, her phone and social media were compromised,” he wrote. “The individual(s) in possession of her phone used it to hide the fact she was gone, to ask for money and to create a false narrative that she was going ‘off the grid.’”
He added, “I am sharing this because I believe that whoever is responsible is hoping to erase her in every way possible. I want to amplify her story in the only way I know how.”

10 Thrillers That Keep You Guessing From Start to Finish
Some thrillers are easy to follow, but others feel far more immersive and keep you guessing. These films plant small details without the audience noticing or take hard turns towards the end, making them outright unpredictable. Whether it’s the fractured timeline of Memento or the ambiguity of the indie Sound of My Voice, these thrillers thrive on crafting their story and misdirection.
Here, we take a look at some of the thrillers that keep you guessing from start to finish. Instead of guiding the audience toward a clear resolution, they embrace uncertainty, unreliable narrators, and narrative sleight of hand. The result is a viewing experience that stays with you, inviting rewatch after rewatch, not just to catch what you missed, but to see how expertly you were led astray in the first place.
‘The Usual Suspects’ (1995)
The Usual Suspects centers on Roger “Verbal” Kint (Kevin Spacey), a small-time con artist and the sole survivor of a deadly ship explosion, who recounts the events leading up to the incident during a police interrogation. Through his story, it is revealed that a group of criminals came together to collaborate on dangerous jobs for a mysterious, ruthless crime lord named Keyser Soze.
Written by Christopher McQuarrie, The Usual Suspects is often cited as one of the best thrillers of all time because of how smartly it constructs the narrative. With Verbal’s story framing, the film sets the audience up because this character is an unreliable narrator, evidenced by inconsistencies and visual cues suggesting something is off. By the time the truth is revealed, it surprises the audience and forces the audience to completely reevaluate everything that came before. It is no twist ending that the film won Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars.
‘The Invitation’ (2015)
The Invitation centers on Will (Logan Marshall-Green), a man who attends a dinner party hosted by his ex-wife, Eden (Tammy Blanchard) and her new partner, David (Michiel Huisman), at the house they once shared. As the evening unfolds, the gathering feels increasingly off, and Will becomes convinced that something is wrong, but his concerns are dismissed as paranoia, leaving him to question whether there’s something or if it’s just his grief.
Karyn Kusama‘s The Invitation utilizes slow-burning tension and ambiguity to become an effective thriller, undoubtedly one of the most underrated in recent memory. It carefully balances two competing interpretations: either Will is right, and something sinister is unfolding, or he’s projecting his trauma onto an otherwise harmless situation. Kusama stretches this uncertainty to its limit, using subtle cues and social discomfort to keep viewers guessing. When the truth finally emerges, it expands the scope of the threat in a chilling way and becomes an unforgettable experience.
‘Coherence’ (2013)
Coherence follows a group of friends attending a house dinner party. When a comet passes overhead while they’re gathering, minor oddities begin to appear, and reality begins to decay. Their familiar surroundings become confusing and eerie, and they even encounter alternate versions of themselves. As the film progresses and they try to find the answers, the situation becomes more and more unstable.
Made with an ultra-low budget, Coherence maximizes its production through its minimalist approach. Shot in a naturalistic way with improvised dialogue and tight setting, Coherence immerses the audience in the same confusion as its characters. Each revelation is simultaneously conveyed to the characters and the audience, keeping viewers guessing not just about what’s happening, but which version of events they’re even witnessing. It’s like solving a puzzle, but the last pieces keep missing before we’re able to finish it, in the best way possible.
‘Shutter Island’ (2010)
Set in 1954, Shutter Island follows U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) as he travels to Ashecliffe Hospital, a remote psychiatric facility on an isolated island, to investigate the disappearance of a patient. Alongside his partner Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), Teddy interviews staff and patients, but quickly encounters challenges in the hospital. As a violent storm traps them on the island, Teddy’s investigation becomes increasingly personal, haunted by visions of his past.
Martin Scorsese carefully blurs the line between reality and delusion in this thriller. By aligning the audience entirely with Teddy’s unstable point of view, the film becomes thoroughly engrossing and unpredictable. Shutter Island plants clues throughout but frames them in a way that allows multiple interpretations until the final act reveals the most important information. Although usually diminished to its twist, the buildup towards it that differentiates Shutter Island from other thrillers. It fills the atmosphere with so much uncertainty that even after the reveal, some audiences may still be questioning whether it’s real or not.
‘The Prestige’ (2006)
The Prestige follows rival magicians Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale), whose professional competition escalates into a fatal game. In an attempt to perfect an impossible trick, The Transported Man, the two become locked in a cycle of dangerous one-upmanship as they spy and sabotage each other.
Replicating the structure of a magic trick (The Pledge, The Turn and The Prestige), Christopher Nolan‘s The Prestige is a trick in itself. It hides its biggest secrets in plain sight while also distracting the audience with spectacle and misdirection. What makes it such an effective guessing game is that the clues are all there, yet the narrative framing encourages you to overlook them. The Prestige moves confidently, knowing that it always stays one step ahead of the audience. In more ways than one, this film is a foundational piece in Nolan’s filmography, with his narrative tricks and filmmaking trademarks all intact here.
‘Sound of My Voice’ (2011)
Sound of My Voice follows two documentary filmmakers, Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), who infiltrate a secretive cult led by a woman named Maggie (Brit Marling), who claims to be from the future. As they gain her trust and begin documenting her teachings, they encounter a group of devoted followers who believe deeply in her story. Maggie provides specific, seemingly verifiable predictions and details about the future that make the filmmakers question what they believe.
Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij have consistently created thought-provoking indie movies before their breakout mainstream success with The OA. Sound of My Voice is instrumental to the Netflix cult series, as it has a lot of its DNA, notably in the setting and atmosphere. The film sustains ambiguity around Maggie’s legitimacy and never directly confirms or debunks her position, and the audience, like the two documentarians, is consistently questioning her. The film is infamous for its abrupt ending, which can be frustrating, but it also gives space for the audience to rethink what they have seen and make their own conclusion.
‘Oldboy’ (2003)
Oldboy follows Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik), who is inexplicably imprisoned in a private cell for 15 years without explanation. Suddenly released, he is given money, clothes, a phone, and a task to discover the reason for his imprisonment within five days or face consequences. As Dae-su retraces his past, he forms a connection with a young woman named Mi-do (Kang Hye-jung) and begins to uncover a long-buried secret.
Similar to other films on this list, Oldboy is effective and memorable for putting the audience in Dae-su’s perspective. It is already a relentless thriller thanks to its layered structure and innovative filmmaking. Park Chan-wook constantly feeds the audience partial answers that feel satisfying in the moment but ultimately lead to even darker questions. The film’s mix of genres makes it richer, ranging from a revenge story to a psychological thriller to a tragedy. The final reveal is shocking for Dae-su and the audience, recontextualizing everything that came before and forcing the audience to let everything sink in.
‘Gone Girl’ (2014)
Gone Girl sees devoted wife Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) disappear on her fifth wedding anniversary. Suspicion quickly falls on her husband Nick (Ben Affleck), whose awkward public image and inconsistent statements make him an easy target. The police begin to investigate the case, with the crime scene and Amy’s diary entries as the main clues that point to a deteriorating marriage, which corners Nick even more.
Gone Girl thrives on its ability to constantly reset the audience’s assumptions through unreliable narrators in both Amy and Nick. Gillian Flynn‘s book leans to the trope even more, but David Fincher and Flynn herself adapted it perfectly for the film. So every time you think you understand the dynamics of the relationship, the story pivots and forces you to reconsider everything. It’s less about a single twist and more about continuous unpredictability, especially if you haven’t read the source material. Gone Girl also plays with media narratives and public perception, adding another layer of uncertainty about what’s real and what’s being performed.
‘Memento’ (2000)
Memento follows Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce), who suffers from short-term memory loss after a traumatic attack that also resulted in his wife’s death. Unable to form new memories, Leonard relies on handwritten notes, Polaroid photos, and tattoos on his body to track clues in his quest to find the man he believes responsible. To add to the unpredictability, the narrative moves in reverse chronological order.
Christopher Nolan’s obsession with time stems from this film. Its disorienting structure forces the audience to tap into Leonard’s fractured mindset. Viewers are constantly piecing together events without full context, only to have each new scene reshape their understanding of the last. Nolan turns memory itself into the central mystery, raising questions about truth, self-deception, and the stories we tell ourselves to cope. The final reveal seems secondary after trying to guess what it all meant throughout the film. Instead, Memento challenges whether Leonard, and by extension the audience, ever truly wanted to know the truth at all.
‘The Game’ (1997)
In The Game, wealthy banker Nicholas Van Orton (Michael Douglas) receives a mysterious birthday gift from his brother (Sean Penn) to participate in an elaborate, personalized experience run by a company called Consumer Recreation Services. Initially skeptical, Nicholas soon finds his life spiraling out of control as the game begins to blur with reality. With his money gone and his home compromised, Nicholas tries to find the truth behind the organization and stop the game.
The film excels as a thriller because it systematically dismantles both Nicholas’s sense of control and the audience’s grip on reality. In his third feature film, David Fincher demonstrates mastery in filmmaking and narrative deception, constructing a narrative where every development could either be part of the game or a genuine threat; there’s no clear way to distinguish between the two. This constant ambiguity keeps viewers in a state of tension. The Game becomes more and more intense as it develops, so much that the third act reveal feels like an extended exhale after holding our breath throughout the movie. In Fincher’s decorated filmography, this film, unfortunately, is the one that gets overlooked the most.

Days of Our Lives: Marlena & Stefano’s Secret Love Child – Major Clues Drop!
Days of Our Lives is gearing up for the reading of Stefano DiMera‘s (Joseph Mascolo) will and there are some changes in the wind. First off, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) was added to the list of beneficiaries and also Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) has been revealed as the new executor thanks to a codicil that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) just learned about.
So, there’s also some talk about Marlena and Stefano’s twisted past and some hints that have us wondering if the Phoenix and his Queen of the Night had a child together that we never knew about. And we’re going to talk about a big twist that may be coming.
So, it could be that the writers did a huge retcon of known history and they may reveal a twist in somebody’s maternity. Not paternity. But maternity as in a different mom. So, before we dive into a possible Marlena and Stefano baby twist.
Major Days of Our Lives Storyline Twists Coming
So, already I think that the reading of Stefano’s will is going to yield major storyline twists for many in the DiMera family and people adjacent to them as well. And one of those twists could tie into his ongoing bizarre and decades-lasting obsession with Marlena.
So this past week when Abe Carver (James Reynolds) was talking to Theo, he mentioned that aside from Marlena, he thinks that Lexie Carver‘s (Nikki Crawford) mom, Celeste Perrault (Beverly Todd), was the only woman that Stefano truly loved. And Abe also sort of implied that Stefano might have loved Celeste more than Marlena. Primarily because Stefano had a child with Celeste. But is there more to it? And we’re about to get a huge retcon that could shock the fans and the DiMera family.
Marlena in for a Huge Shock on DOOL?
Given that Stefano had pet mad scientist Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) at his beck and call, I mean honestly anything is possible when it comes to secret kids. So, is Stefano going to twist and manipulate Marlena’s life from beyond the grave? We should see the will being read in the week ahead, the week of May 4th through the 8th.
So, EJ already spent time with Marlena this week talking to her about hypnotherapy. Because he wants to find out more about his time in the Italian hospital with Cat Green (AnnaLynne McCord). And EJ again was encouraging Marlena to attend the will reading. But she wasn’t quite sure.
Could Chad Be Marlena’s Son on Days?
So, if there is a twist like this coming, I’m wondering if EJ’s in the dark about it or if he knows. So, even though Stefano, who was Marlena’s tormentor, is confirmed to be dead and buried, he is living rent-free in her head. And EJ told Marlena that showing up for Stefano’s will reading could give her closure.
And we know, of course, that Marlena is curious about what’s going on. But she also mentioned this isn’t necessarily something new. She’s been named as a beneficiary in some of Stefano’s past wills. I mean, the Phoenix rose from the death several times, like 13 or 14 times. It was insane.
Days of Our Lives: Grown Baby Bombshell Coming?
So, I do think secrets are going to come out that have never been revealed. And one possibility based on the recent conversations with Abe and Theo about Stefano’s fixation on Marlena and them not having a child is we find out something that she doesn’t know. Did Stefano get Marlena pregnant and she had his child but does not remember?
Are we getting a grown baby bombshell as part of the will reading? And if so, we’re wondering if they’re going to do a retcon. And we’re going to find out Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd) is the biological son of Marlena and Stefano.
Days of Our Lives writers are pretty skilled at using foreshadowing and little Easter eggs and hints. And when Theo and Abe were talking about Marlena and Celeste and Stefano having a child with Celeste. But not with Marlena, the very next scene it cut to was Chad talking to Marlena. So that could have been an Easter egg.
How This Could Be Possible on Days
When Chad first came on to Salem, the Salem scene, you may remember, I think he was 16. He was a teenager, introduced as the son of an affluent couple, Madeline Peterson Woods (Jessica Tuck) and Charles Woods (David Leisure). But it came out after Madeline died that she was a former call girl that Stefano had slept with and that he was Chad’s true bio dad, not her husband.
So, given that Chad came on the scene as a troubled teenager and wasn’t born on screen, the Days of Our Lives writers have a good amount of wiggle room if they want to rewrite the story of his origins. And if Marlena is indeed Chad’s biological mom, the big question is why wouldn’t Marlena know?
So, how could it be possible that Stefano got her pregnant, Marlena gave birth to a son, and knows nothing about it? I got two words for you. Dr. Rolf. Now, we know that Stefano kidnapped Marlena on many occasions, including during the Queen of the Night era.
Days of Our Lives: Stefano Impregnated Marlena Under Mind Control?
So, Stefano had Marlena under mind control, and he was manipulating her. A lot of it done in the dead of the night when she was dreaming or when she thought she was dreaming. So, Stefano may have had consensual sex or honestly it would have been non-consensual sex with Marlena when she was drugged, brainwashed, gaslit, and Stefano could have gotten her pregnant.
And because of the brainwashing and trauma and blackouts, Marlena didn’t know or she forgot. You know, Rolf could have delivered the baby early, put Marlena in a coma and delivered the child and Stefano gave the baby to Madeline to raise. So, Rolf may have altered records or brainwashed Marlena into thinking she was never pregnant or had a stillbirth, something like that.
Chad’s mother may have been paid or coerced to pretend that Stefano’s secret love child with Marlena was her child with her husband. Because the truth that Stefano was Chad’s dad didn’t come out until she died. So, they could also retcon it to Stefano saying that Madeline could never tell anyone the truth about Chad’s real parents.

Dr. Rolf’s Medical Wizardry on DOOL
Or from another angle, Stefano could have had Rolf harvest Marlena’s eggs during one of the kidnappings. And like Rolf did with Kate Robert’s (Lauren Koslow) and Roman Brady’s (Josh Taylor) DNA to create twins Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) and Cassie Brady (Alexis Thorpe), you know, Rolf could have made a Stefano and Marlena embryo and implanted it into Madeline, and she was actually Chad’s surrogate mother rather than his biological mother. But then raised him as her own. Think about that.
Rolf stole Tate Black (Leo Howard) when he was just a little embryo from Theresa Donovan’s womb and planted him in Kristen DiMera‘s (Stacy Haiduk) womb. Dr. Rolf’s medical wizardry also helped Kristen get pregnant with Rachel way past her fertility expiration date. And I think it was 2020, so like six years ago, Rolf tried to implant a Stefano clone embryo in Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) when she was also past her fertility expiration date.
Days of Our Lives: Marlena Gets Huge Shock
So, I do expect some really big and bizarre reveals at this will reading. And I have to say that this is a retcon I’d probably be okay with. I think it might turn out to be a good thing. You know, Marlena’s grieving John Black (Drake Hogestyn).
She could use some good news in her life. I mean, that would be a good news, bad news situation. Like, oh, by the way, you know, Stefano had a baby and you didn’t know. But good news, it’s a nice guy. It’s Chad, you know, and he’s an orphan, so he could use a loving mother figure in his life.
I mean, honestly, if they went this route, it might be one of the kindest things Stefano’s done for Marlena, revealing the truth at long last. So, the bequest that she gets from Stefano’s will may not be a trinket or some jewelry or some cash. But the reveal of a secret son she never knew that they had and that she already loves.

11 Space Operas That Need A Movie Right Now
There’s a wealth of science fiction out there, just waiting for some movie studio to pick it up and do something with it.

With Hollywood’s box office numbers fading, there’s never been a better time to take a big risk on good ideas. There’s a wealth of science fiction out there, just waiting for some movie studio to pick it up and do something with it.
No more waiting. Drop that Back to the Future remake, Hollywood, and do something with these already brilliant sci-fi properties instead. I’ve ranked them in order, by which is most likely to be a huge, huge hit.
11. Farscape: The Movie

Farscape was critically acclaimed from day one, but it’s so linear and deeply character-driven that missing even a single episode in the days before streaming left you adrift without a paddle. A movie presents an opportunity to solve that.
Instead of one story stretched out over several seasons, we have the chance to get a complete story in a single, epic film. And if you thought Farscape’s visuals were impressive on a basic cable television budget, just imagine what the geniuses at the Jim Henson workshop could do with a $30 million budget.
If there’s a problem, it’s that it has since been totally ripped off by Guardians of the Galaxy, but I think there’s still enough here to make Farscape feel like its own thing. I’m just not sure I want to see it without the original cast, and given their age, there’s probably no way to do it with them. So that’s why it’s on the bottom of this list.
The Pitch: It’s the story of modern-day astronaut John Crichton, flung through a wormhole into a distant galaxy. There, he’s stuck on a living ship with a group of escaped prisoners who, though at first his enemies, become his allies, and eventually his friends. It’s the classic tale of a stranger in a strange land, mixed with piracy and full of deeply rooted character drama. It’s romantic too, full of realistic relationships against a fantastic backdrop.
10. Starship Troopers

Didn’t they already make this movie? Not really. There was a 1990s movie called Starship Troopers, which claimed to be an adaptation of the famous Robert A. Heinlein novel of the same name, but that film has so little in common with the novel that it’s not the same thing.
Heinlein’s version of this story has never been done at all and would feel totally original, unlike anything else audiences have ever seen in theaters. You’d probably just have to call it something else.
The Pitch: A hard science fiction movie about the difficulties of war in outer space, trapped in a battle for survival. The soldiers use power armor, which means you’d end up with a more serious take on the classic mech-suit trope in sci-fi. Somehow, we’ve also never gotten a good live-action mobile mech suit movie, and Heinlein invented the idea. It’s the best place to start.
9. The Futurama Movie

Turning in a movie worked for The Simpsons and they ran out of jokes fifteen years ago. Futurama, on the other hand, thanks to frequent network cancellations, still feels young. Matt Groening’s other animated masterpiece has never gotten a fair shake, but with its spacey setting and tendency towards blaster fire, it’s far more suited to the big screen than Springfield’s favorite family. It’s an animation, yes, but an animation for adults. Feel free to take things up a notch for the theatrical version, hook Bender up with a three-nippled robot hooker, and slap it with an “R” rating. Or if you’re really feeling spendy, ditch the animation and give us a live-action version.
The Pitch: A pizza delivery boy is accidentally frozen for a thousand years and wakes up in the future. There, he finds employment at the interplanetary delivery company Planet Express and struggles to fit in with its strange assortment of employees. His best friend is an alcoholic robot, he’s in love with a smoking hot kung-fu Cyclops who finds him repulsive, and he’s employed by a mad scientist with an increasingly bad case of dementia. Hilarity ensues. Think Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy meets Encino Man.
8. The Expanse: The Movie

The Expanse was the best science fiction series of the modern era. It’s based on a series of critically acclaimed books. The stories keep getting bigger as it goes on, and The Expanse is from jump a dense narrative examining complicated human politics and dynamics in a far-off future where man has begun traveling to the stars.
Despite its futuristic setting, the show and the books are propelled by their realism. The Expanse gets all the little details about both science and human nature right. When you delve into this world, it feels exactly like what humanity colonizing outer space would really be like.
The Pitch: As impressive as The Expanse has been as a TV series, I’d love to see what it might look like on the big screen. Each book in the series, while continuing a linear narrative with the same group of characters, can also stand on its own.
The best move for The Expanse is to simply make a parallel production. There’s really no way to make a sequel to the series, and I think there’s room for another take on it. Fans of the show would still be more connected to it because of their history with the franchise, but newcomers would be able to jump in for the movie if it’s done right.
7. Battlestar Galactica: The Movie

There have been frequent talks about Battlestar Galactica getting the movie treatment. One problem: Most of those talks have been about making a movie out of the wrong version. When the fantastic, award-winning, Ronald Moore reboot of the classic franchise went off the air, Hollywood immediately cast it aside and rehired the creator of the less successful 80s version to start the whole thing all over again. Don’t do that. There’s a better way.
The Pitch: This movie should be a Battlestar Galactica prequel set in the Ron Moore version of the series. The story you need to tell already exists, in an underfunded web series called Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome. Turn that into a movie, and expect to print money.
6. Stargate: Lost In Space

Stargate started out as a movie, way back in 1994. But it was after that movie ended that Stargate became a franchise, thanks to the television series, which took the movie’s premise and ran with it in a completely different direction. The series is now getting a new installment on Amazon, and if it works, it’s time for another movie.
This time, the fans of the television franchise deserve a feature film set in that version of the Stargate universe. It shouldn’t use the same actors, they’ve grown too old for that. I don’t think we need a reboot either.
I’d position this movie as a sequel to the 1994 film, but skew its style and script to better align with the television series. Better still, the sequel could easily follow a course similar to the one charted by Stargate Universe, before it was cancelled after only two seasons.
The Pitch: Let’s reboot Stargate Universe, while keeping everything else in canon. It can work. Decades after the discovery of a stargate that allows humans instantaneous travel to other planets, a breakthrough happens. While exploring the universe via the gates, a group of humans stumbles on an ancient alien starship traveling the galaxy.
When they board the ship, our heroes are stranded there and must use the alien vessel to try to find their way home. Lost in a hostile galaxy full of strange dangers and incredible creatures, they discover the key not only to existence, but also to themselves.
5. The Mote In God’s Eye

It’s one of the greatest science fiction books ever written, and perhaps also one of the most overlooked. Written in through a collaboration between Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle, and first published in 1974, this two-book duology charts the first contact between humanity and an alien race.
I know what you’re thinking, we’ve seen this before. No, you haven’t, not like this. Sure, much like Alien, this first contact doesn’t take place until far off in man’s future, when we’ve already explored most of space. But any similarities end there. What really sets this apart is the complex, utterly realistic, detailed way in which Niven and Pournelle develop the alien race, known as the Moties, which humanity encounters out there in that far-off place.
The Pitch: Popular science fiction often portrays aliens as either monsters or nearly human. Rarely is there a middle ground. Avatar’s Na’vi, for instance, are barely alien at all. They’re more like some blue African tribe.
Mote presents an intelligent alien species that is truly alien, not just in appearance but in the way they think, and then uses them as part of a gripping tale which asks this simple question: How can we possibly trust something so alien, let alone understand it? Maybe they lack the sex appeal of blue cat people (you’re unlikely to be aroused by a Mote’s gripping hand), but the story’s brilliantly written characters and massive, epic scope could turn the science fiction genre on its head if it ever made it up on screen.
4. Babylon 5: The Movie

With all due respect to Star Trek, Babylon 5 (at least for the first four seasons), may have been the greatest science fiction series in the history of television. At least, it was one of the most revolutionary. It was the first television show, for instance, to use computer-generated effects on whole sequences. The show’s plot plays out as a single complicated, linear story arc of the type now used by Lost and every other show currently on television, but unheard of back in the early 90s.
It told a complete story wrapped in a single series. Most importantly, though, it’s character-driven, epic, and utterly compelling. Many of the show’s cast members have sadly passed away. So if you do this, Hollywood, it’ll need to be a total reboot.
The Pitch: The show began every week with a monologue that, much better than I ever could, tells you all you need to know. Here’s how Babylon 5 described itself in Season 2: “ The Babylon Project was our last, best hope for peace. A self-contained world five miles long, located in neutral territory. A place of commerce and diplomacy for a quarter of a million humans and aliens. A shining beacon in space . . . all alone in the night. It was the dawn of the Third Age of Mankind – the year the Great War came upon us all. This is the story of the last of the Babylon stations. The year is 2259. The place is called Babylon 5.”
3. The Hyperion Cantos

There have actually been rumors that Dan Simmons masterful far-future series of novels (collectively referred to as the Hyperion Cantos) may be turned into a movie, but it hasn’t happened yet, and we’re tired of waiting. The material is challenging and heady, but also utterly unique. It starts out as a group of pilgrims journeying to a far-off planet called Hyperion, where they’ll visit the legendary Time Tombs. The tombs are guarded by the Shrike, an unstoppable, unknowable, spikey, metallic creature that snatches up travelers and impales them on its tree of thorns.
The Pitch: Hyperion tells the story of the pilgrims as they travel, and as the story spans multiple books it goes beyond them. It works brilliantly because it’s character-driven, scratch that, it’s more than character-driven, it’s emotion-driven.
Simmons puts his characters through hell and takes us with them through every step of suffering, sadness, and pain, which gradually comes together to form a larger picture. Hyperion is a story with something to say about the human condition, and it does it in an epic, potentially visually stunning package. It’s science fiction’s Lord of the Rings, and done right, it’ll win just as many Oscars.
2. Legend Of The Galactic Heroes

Legend of the Galactic Heroes began as a 10-novel series by Japanese author Yoshiki Tanaka and went on to become one of the most influential and longest-running space operas in Japanese history. It’s been adapted into an animation several times, but the most recent version is fully titled as Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These.
It tells the story of competing Galactic empires through the lens of two strategic geniuses, one in each nation, as they each rise through the military ranks, buoyed by their achievements.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes is a complex mix of eye-popping large-scale space battles, political maneuvering, and personal relationships told over a series of decades. It’s one of the biggest stories ever told, so big it’s hard to imagine it being told in any form other than anime.
The Pitch: Combine Star Wars with Game of Thrones, and you’re starting to get the picture. This could easily span multiple movies and become the biggest thing since George Lucas. There are no bigger ideas in space opera.
1. The Orville: The Motion Picture

As the show progressed, Seth MacFarlane’s Star Trek homage became increasingly cinematic. The Orville’s focus on delivering a cinema-quality product for television has become so intense that the third season took nearly two years to complete. If they’re going to all this trouble to make The Orville look and feel like a movie, they might as well actually make one and release it in theaters.
I feel like there’s a good chance this might actually happen. Season 3 aired in 2025, and there’s been no movement on making season 4, despite heavy interest from fans. Now might be the perfect time to bring The Orville to the big screen, and Seth MacFarlane has all the Hollywood energy he needs to get it done.
The Pitch: The ideal path here is to simply deliver a normal Orville adventure on a movie scale. They’ve already had a massive battle on the show, so I wouldn’t necessarily go that route.
The Orville Movie should be about raising the stakes for the characters, not necessarily about bigger special effects or more galactic consequences. If they’re smart, they’ll pattern The Orville movie after Star Trek: The Motion Picture, with some sort of existential threat that questions the very nature of their existence and demands a difficult sacrifice. Since it’s The Orville, they’ll also be able to take that concept and make it less boring, with weird, humorous quips and snappy crew banter.

Spencer Pratt Claps Back Over Controversial Mayor Race Ad
Spencer Pratt has fired back at criticism of a new attack ad in his Los Angeles mayoral campaign.
On Wednesday, April 29, the former Hills star released a campaign ad filmed outside the homes of two of his opponents in the upcoming mayoral primary: current Mayor Karen Bass and Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman.
The campaign commercial racked up nearly 11 million viewers within two days of its release and has been praised as game-changing by Pratt’s supporters. Raman, however, condemned Pratt for filming outside her home, calling it an “unnecessary and reckless” political stunt, while Mayor Bass accused her rival of doing his “best Trump impression.”
The controversy erupted during a sharp uptick in Pratt’s fundraising — including an infusion of cash from former Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss — and rising poll numbers, as well as numerous celebrity endorsements.
Keep scrolling for Pratt’s response to the controversial ad and more about the backlash.
Why Is Spencer Pratt’s New Ad Controversial?
Pratt dropped the attack ad on April 29, tagging it with a reference to Kendrick Lamar’s 2024 hit “Not Like Us.” The clip opens with him standing outside of Mayor Bass and Raman’s L.A.-area homes.
“This is where Mayor Bass lives. Notice something? Or here, where Nithya Raman’s $3 million mansion sits,” he says. “They don’t have to live in the mess they’ve created.”
The ad then cuts to Spencer standing outside the trailer where he has lived with his wife, Heidi Montag, and their two children since their home burned down in the 2025 Palisade Fire.

“This is where I live. They let my home burn down,” Pratt declares. “I know what the consequences of failed leadership are. That’s why I’m running for mayor, for my sons and the rest of us Angelenos who want to stop these corrupt politicians from destroying our city. We are going to get the golden age of Los Angeles back.”
The hard-hitting content of the ad led to former View panellist Meghan McCain predicting that Pratt will win the mayoral race. The Challenge’s Johnny Bananas shared the ad via X, adding, “That’s my mayor 🤘.”
How Did Nithya Raman Respond to Spencer Pratt’s Ad?
The Los Angeles City Councilmember exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, April 30, that Pratt’s filming outside of her home was irresponsible.
“Filming outside my home, where I live with my young children, feels unnecessary and reckless,” Raman exclusively told Us via a “Nithya for Mayor” campaign spokesperson.
Raman has previously urged Los Angeles voters not to laugh off Pratt’s mayoral campaign.
“Spencer Pratt’s run for mayor is no joke. He’s a MAGA Republican who has vowed to work with ICE & end L.A.’s sanctuary city ordinance,” Raman tweeted on Monday, April 27. “He is a threat to Los Angeles and the immigrants who built their lives here.”

In February, Pratt confirmed that, if elected, he planned to work with the federal government on immigration enforcement in Los Angeles.
“Karen Bass’ open defiance of federal law for political gain has created confusion, tension and instability,” he said. “When I am mayor, I will work directly with the federal government in a firm but humane way with a clear focus on public safety. Violent criminals will be removed from our streets and law-abiding, hard-working families will live without fear.”
Did Spencer Pratt Clap Back at Nithya Raman?
Pratt dismissed Raman’s criticism of his controversial campaign ad by suggesting that she was simply “validating” the premise of his political attack.
“Nithya just validating the entire premise of our commercial,” he tweeted on April 30. “She doesn’t care if there’s homeless drug addicts in front of your home, in front of your kids school, but God help her if a man in a suit takes a picture on the public street for two minutes.”
How Did Mayor Karen Bass Respond to Spencer Pratt’s Attack Ad?
A spokesperson for Mayor Bass released a statement to Us on Friday, May 1, in which she likened Pratt’s bravado to that of President Donald Trump.
“Spencer is doing his best Trump impression but it’s not going to work in L.A.,” her rep told Us.
What Is Next in the L.A. Mayoral Race?
A primary election will be held Tuesday, June 2. If no candidate receives a majority of the vote, a runoff election will take place Tuesday, November 3.

Kim Zolciak Temporarily Loses Custody of Kids With Ex Kroy

Kim Zolciak has temporarily lost physical custody of her kids with ex Kroy Biermann amid their messy divorce battle.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, a Georgia judge ruled that Biermann, 40, would have primary physical custody of their kids K.J., 14, Kash, 13, and twins Kaia and Kane, 12. (Zolciak, 47, is also the mom of daughters Brielle, 29, whom Biermann legally adopted in 2013, and Ariana, 24, whom she shares with ex-husband Daniel Toce.)
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum will have limited parenting time with her four minor children every other weekend, the outlet noted.
Per the judge’s order, Zolciak and Biermann will reportedly continue to share joint legal custody of the kids, while Biermann will have final say on educational, non-emergency medical and religious decisions.
“The senior judge’s decision from April 29 is temporary until we return to court as soon as possible when we will have the opportunity for a full hearing,” Zolciak told Us in a statement. “The new order was the result of an alleged emergency motion filed by Kroy to ensure the matter was heard by a senior judge instead of our duly elected assigned judge, who has never granted Kroy an immediate hearing despite him filing three separate (false) motions against me.”
She continued, “The decision rendered by the senior judge was largely the result of a flawed investigation by a guardian ad litem who has not spoken to me in over a year (until a brief call with me and my attorney on April 28), or my boys since April of 2025 aside from a brief 15 minute meeting in July of 2025. While I want this process to be over for my children more than anything, I am looking forward to a full court date when we will finally be provided with an opportunity to present the truth.”
TMZ was first to report the news.
In April, Biermann filed an emergency motion accusing his ex of neglect and claiming that she is “more selfishly concerned with her own image and her work options” than their kids. He also alleged that Zolciak is “unstable and unfit” to parent and requested an emergency hearing to change custody.
Zolciak and Biermann have been entangled in a messy legal battle since the Bravolebrity filed for divorce in May 2023. Though the pair briefly reconciled a few months later, the divorce was back on by August 2023.
In late March, Biermann requested sole custody of their minor children after the pair had previously agreed to a joint custody arrangement, according to court docs obtained by Us at the time. He claimed that Zolciak had exhibited “blatant mismanagement of basic parenting responsibilities would be practically unbelievable to anyone not familiar with the circumstances.”
In response to the filing, Zolciak told Us, “These accusations are completely false and nothing more than a deliberate attempt by Kroy to defame my character. I spent five weeks away working on two TV shows to support my family and make sure my children are cared for — something I will never apologize for. I refuse to be bullied or have lies twisted into a narrative about who I am. I will not stay silent; the truth is on my side, and it will come to light — no matter how hard anyone tries to bury it.”
A judge ultimately approved a temporary parenting plan where the kids would remain in Biermann’s physical custody until Zolciak completed four sessions of parent therapy no earlier than April 13. After she completed the sessions, the exes would “resume operation under the existing court-ordered parenting plan, which otherwise remains in full force and effect until further agreement and/or modification by this court.”
Zolciak clarified via Instagram on April 3 that she had “not lost custody of my children, nor has there been any modification to the custody arrangement.”
“I signed a temporary custody order at the end of January. The order clearly states that both the mother and father are to participate in two counseling sessions per month for two months, followed by one session per month thereafter. I was out of the country from February 26 through March 28 due to contractual filming obligations on two separate productions,” she wrote.
Zolciak continued, “During that time, I did not have a single day off, making it impossible to attend the required counseling sessions. Kroy as of today (I had KJ and Kash up until 5pm today) currently has the children for spring break, which is his designated parenting time under the existing agreement. I am scheduled to resume my parenting time when the children return on Friday. My counseling sessions are scheduled and will be completed next week.”
The mom of six concluded, “For the avoidance of any doubt, I have not lost custody of my children, nor has there been any modification to the custody arrangement outside the agreed upon temporary order.”

Jennifer Lawrence’s Infamously Raunchy, Extremely R-Rated Comedy Is Suddenly Topping Streaming Charts
By Robert Scucci
| Published

Jennifer Lawrence chose 2023 to try to make the jump into comedy with her extremely R-rated comedy, No Hard Feelings. Her timing was off; adult comedy hadn’t yet made a comeback, and the movie was a massive flop.
Three years later, No Hard Feelings is finally getting the attention it deserves. The R-Rated comedy is among the top 10 most-watched movies on HBO Max in the United States, ready and waiting for you to stream. I hit play, and can confirm it’s worth a watch.
More Than Just A Raunch-Com

I’d heard great things and decided to give it a go because it fell into the right genre. Previously, I’ve only really seen Lawrence perform in comedy-adjacent dramatic roles like American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook. I knew she was funny when she made appearances on talk shows, but I didn’t know she had it in her to be so off-the-wall as in this movie.
Despite its raunchy reputation, there’s more here than you’d expect. I’ll definitely be recommending No Hard Feelings to my wife because I also need a break from the bender that she’s currently on, which involves a gratuitous amount of Gilmore Girls and Grey’s Anatomy.
A Refreshing Romantic Comedy

No Hard Feelings is a by-the-numbers romantic comedy, but a refreshing one because it has a female protagonist. More often than not, the questionable behavior (stalking) acted out in this type of movie is carried out by a guy who’s trying to get a girl to like him. What’s more, its R rating opens the door to some pretty raunchy sequences, which elevate the humor because the 12-year-old in me still finds an inappropriate amount of cursing in this context hilarious.
As one would expect, the plot to No Hard Feelings leaves very little room for interpretation because you’re just supposed to enjoy its slapstick humor. Jennifer Lawrence‘s Maddie Barker is a down-on-her-luck bartender and Uber driver who finds herself in a bind after her car gets repossessed because she hasn’t been paying the property taxes on the house she inherited from her deceased mother.

Facing bankruptcy, she finds two helicopter parents (portrayed by Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) on Craigslist who are willing to part ways with a Buick Regal if she can get their shy and awkward son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), out of his shell before shipping off to Princeton University.
Desperate for money and a stroke of good luck, Maddie wastes no time trying to seduce Percy because she’s in it to win it in No Hard Feelings. Things get off to a rough start when Maddy, who’s 32 years old, tries to kidnap 19-year-old Percy from his job at the animal shelter, which results in her getting maced by the naive teenager.

Their developing romance, which Percy doesn’t know is a setup, continues to be problematic because Maddie is jaded from past failed relationships, and Percy is so innocent for his age that he doesn’t pick up on Maddie’s various attempts at seduction.
No Hard Feelings Is Surprisingly Wholesome, But Doesn’t Play It Safe
After its initial setup, No Hard Feelings becomes surprisingly wholesome because Maddie and Percy unwittingly provide each other with emotional support that they both so desperately need. Percy becomes more confident because an older woman with poor impulse control is giving him the time of day, and Maddie is surprised to find out that Percy is a really good listener who genuinely cares about her well-being.

That said, whatever wholesome moments happen in this film are immediately offset by nude fist fights at the beach, high-speed car chases, catfights at college parties, and Percy consuming way too much alcohol at inopportune moments.
No Hard Feelings is a feel-good, foul-mouthed, and refreshing romantic comedy that has a similar sense of humor to films like There’s Something About Mary and Superbad. If you’re looking for a solid popcorn movie that you don’t have to take seriously, I strongly recommend this title if you’re on the fence about romantic comedies that typically play it safe.

If you want to see Jennifer Lawrence in top form, you can stream No Hard Feelings on HBO Max right now.
