Young and the Restless sees this Dumas guy shaking things up, and there’s actually several clues that point to Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) possibly being the man behind this mysterious fake name and this ruthless reputation. We’re going to talk about five reasons why Devon Hamilton‘s (Bryton James) daddy might be the guy behind the name Aristotle Dumas.
So, we’ve got this mystery billionaire who owns a bunch of companies. He’s been a longtime rival of Victor Newman‘s (Eric Braeden). And yet no one seems to know who he really is. Even Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers), who runs a couple of his companies, has never seen Dumas in person. But there’s five big hints that point to the possibility that Tucker McCall is the mystery man everybody in Genoa City is talking about right now.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: The Abbott Family Connection to Aristotle Dumas
Number one, first big clue is the tie between the Abbotts and Dumas. We all know Tucker’s got a fixation on the Abbott family, specifically on Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). Everybody knows how obsessed Tucker was with Ashley and probably still is. When Tucker first came back to town, when they recast the role with Trevor St. John, he landed his helicopter right on the Abbott lawn out of nowhere after being gone for many years. It was a huge grand gesture and made very clear who he was focused on.
When Tucker first came back, things got pretty bad, of course, between Ashley and Tucker during their most recent romantic fiasco. And he felt she betrayed him in the end. He told Ashley she had chosen the Abbott family over him. And he may be having regrets and may want to try and win Ashley back by helping Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and showing her that he’s let go of any animosity about her loyalty to the Abbotts and that he himself will be loyal to the Abbotts. That would be another grand gesture.
So, Dumas has reached out and told Billy he wants to right a wrong by getting Chancellor away from Victor. And Tucker might also try and stop Victor from going after Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Jabot.
So, Tucker may be trying to get back into Ashley’s good graces as well as win her family’s approval. Plus, Ashley’s on her way back to town, so it would be good timing if Dumas is Tucker since the reclusive billionaire will be revealed soon.
Young and Restless: Victor Newman’s Intel – Is Tucker McCall Targeting Devon’s Winters Family?
So, the second thing, another huge clue, is that Victor told Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that Dumas was digging up info on Winters months before Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) reached out to Damian.
So, Tucker might have been checking into Devon’s family and the company, not because he’s targeting Winters. But because he just wanted to check in and see how his son was doing, you know, after the Winters Chancellor’s de-merger and just all these changes.
Tucker is upset that Devon doesn’t want him around and that he’s been cut out of his grandson Dominic Chancellor‘s (River & Rainn Ware) life. Plus, Tucker may be worried that Victor could come for Winters since he’s doing all these aggressive takeover things. So, this might be about trying to protect Devon and his family.
Also, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) married Devon at Victor’s new ranch house, so that might have Tucker worried that Devon’s getting too close to the Newmans and to Victor. And that might be why this Duma stuff is surging right now.
Audra’s Betrayal: Tucker’s Revenge on Victor Newman in Young and the Restless?
The third thing is the fact that Tucker may be hiding behind the Dumas persona to get payback on Victor for using Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) to steal Glissade from him and then turning around and firing her. Tucker loved Audra in addition to loving Ashley. I think he loved them both. And Victor did Audra really dirty after he got her to betray Tucker. He tricked her.
So, for these reasons, if it is Tucker who is behind the Dumas name and he’s working with Billy to take Chancellor back, it would make sense. It would align. Taking Chancellor away from Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) would be the perfect revenge on Victor.
Y&R Spoilers: Tucker Wants Revenge?
Also, Lily was done dirty in the Chancellor takeover. And Devon cares about his sister a lot, so Tucker may be looking for revenge not just for himself but also on Lily and Devon’s behalf. Also, another whopper of a clue is that Audra has a history with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) that’s tangled up with Tucker.
And Holden works for Damian, who is in deep with Dumas on Young and the Restless. So, there’s all these little tendrils that may be clues, or they may be nothing. But they may be clues. So, you have to wonder if Audra knows something about Dumas. She certainly knew a lot of Tucker’s secrets.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tucker’s Disappearances – The Perfect Cover for Duma’s Secret Identity?
So, the fourth thing, think about this, nobody’s ever seen Dumas. And Tucker has a tendency to fall off the grid and just disappear for huge chunks of time. He was gone for many years. And there was the whole thing about how he was living on an ashram in Thailand, meditating and giving up his material items because he had issues with electromagnetic stuff. We do know that Devon came to see him at the ashram. But that doesn’t mean that Tucker was there all the time.
That could have been a cover story. And he could have been out making business deals under the Dumas name, battling Victor under the radar. Michael Baldwin (Christian Leblanc) and Victor have a conversation this week on Young and the Restless where they debate whether Dumas might be Tucker’s alter ego. Also, depending on how long Dumas has been Victor’s rival, it could point to somebody in their 50s or 60s, you know, around Tucker’s age.
Chancellor’s Legacy – Tucker’s Motivation to Wrest Control from Victor on Y&R?
Last but not least, number five on our list, and this one’s a doozy, remember Chancellor belonged to Tucker’s mother Katherine. And the idea of it being in Victor’s hands may really chafe at Tucker. He tolerated when she passed him over and left everything to Devon. That was one thing. Also, when Chancellor was in Jill Abbott‘s (Jess Walton) hands, that probably didn’t bother Tucker so much. They have a history off and on. But he doesn’t hate her. And he doesn’t hate Billy. So, even it being in Jill’s son’s hands, because she was still involved, might not have been such a big deal.
And then it was Chancellor-Winters before things went sour between Devon and Lily, which may have been something that Tucker really liked because Devon was Katherine’s grandson. And then he was helping run it. So, I could just see Tucker wanting it away from Nikki and Victor and back either in his hands or in the hands of somebody that Victor hates. And boy does he hate Billy Boy Abbott.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Dumas Dials In
So, looking at the big picture, this Dumas guy has ties to a lot of the same people that Tucker does. And Dumas has this interest in Genoa City and several of its local companies. So, it does make a lot of sense if it is Tucker behind the mystery man that nobody’s ever seen.
There is certainly enough red flags to have Michael and Victor debating whether Tucker McCall is the man behind the Dumas mask. However, we also know that Billy Flynn‘s (upcoming character) coming to Y&R as a new character. So, he could be Dumas, or it could be somebody else entirely. I am confident we’re going to find out in May sweeps.
