Beguiling Barolo from Cascina Fontana
Mario Fontana is the sixth generation at Cascina Fontana and works tirelessly to produce wonderfully expressive wines. Hard frosts mean only the property’s top cuvée, Comune di Castiglione Falletto, has been made from the 2021 vintage. Our Wine Director, Mark Pardoe MW, says “the texture of the tannins is creamy and silky, evidence of Mario’s magic touch”. Hourglass Winery: new vision in Napa
Hourglass Winery is so named for its situation at a windy pinch-point of the Napa Valley. Owner Jeff Smith took the reins in 1990, adding the picturesque Blueline Estate to his portfolio in 2006.
