A 23-year-old from Brampton is facing impaired driving charges after a passenger in their vehicle was killed and another was critically injured during a single-vehicle crash in Caledon.

Caledon OPP said emergency crews responded Sunday at about 1:30 a.m. in the Bramalea-Boston Mills Rds. area to find two people injured and one dead at the crash site.

A 21-year-old passenger from Brampton was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other passenger, a 20-year-old from Brampton, was taken to a trauma centre with serious, life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and later charged with impaired operation causing death, impaired operation causing bodily harm and obstructing a peace officer.

COPS PROBE MYSTERIOUS SHOOTING

Toronto Police are searching for answers after a 40-year-old man arrived at an area hospital Sunday just after midnight with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Police said the victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening and it was unclear where the shooting happened.

SHOTS FIRED IN HAMILTON

Police are searching for suspects after shots were fired early Sunday on Hamilton Mountain.

Hamilton Police said officers responded to reports of gunfire at about 5 a.m. near Concession and East 33rd Sts. and immediately secured the area; however, no victims or suspects were located.
