Millwall boss Alex Neil agreed with Charlton manager Nathan Jones’s statement that games with something to play for at the end of the season should all kick off at the same time.

Jones spoke out after Charlton’s 1-0 win at Cambridge on April 12, with promotion rivals Wrexham and Wycombe both kicking off at 12:30.

Millwall head into tomorrow’s game against Swansea at 15:00, three points behind Coventry, who kick off earlier at 12:30 against relegation candidates Luton.

Frank Lampard’s side occupy the final play-off spot, with the Lions needing them and Middlesbrough to drop points in their hunt to claim a top-six spot.

Neil said: “I think Nathan has a relevant argument there. For the excitement of the game and the excitement of the outcome, the last thing you want to do is go into a game disheartened because the team around you has won.

“I don’t think that should be the case. At this stage of the season, so much is riding on it.

“It’s alright early on in the season, because you’re not going to win or lose play-off positions or win the league or get relegated at that point – there are so many games left.

“At this stage of the season, I would like to think there would be a conscious effort to get the games aligned with each other so they’re going on at the same time and you don’t have that benefit or lack of benefit if results don’t go your way.”
