Leonie Elliott, who starred as Nurse Lucille Anderson on the beloved BBC period drama between 2018 and 2023, was recently spotted by fans on the London-based soap opera.
The actor left the role so that she could focus on her mental health following a miscarriage.
According to The Sun, she spoke about the exit, telling fans: “Thank you all for embracing Lucille and rocking with me on this journey, it is with a heart full of love and appreciation that I embark on pastures new.”

However, she recently made a return to our screens after being spotted on Albert Square by eagle-eyed viewers.
In a recent episode, she made an appearance as an inquisitive journalist called Charlott, who was looking to bag an exclusive interview from Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer).
Writing on social media, one EastEnders and Call the Midwife fan said: “Didn’t recognise her at first she played Lucile in Call the Midwife.”
Another BBC viewer added: “She used to be on call the midwife.”
