But now it seems that someone else is pulling the strings.
During an interview with CBS which aired on Sunday, Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, interrupted interviewer Tony Dokoupil when he asked the NFL icon to talk about how he had met his much-younger flame.
“We’re not talking about this,” Hudson said from her seat off-camera.
“No,” Dokoupil replied as he looked over at Hudson, who responded, “No.”
The question was a follow up to Dokoupil asking the legendary coach how he dealt with the added attention that the relationship has received, especially on social media.
“I’ve never been too worried about what everybody else thinks,” Belichick said. “I just try to do what I feel like is what’s best for me and what’s right.”

Hudson shutting down talk about how they met seemed strange, as it has been well-documented.
The pair met on a flight in 2021 and bonded over a textbook that she had with her, followed by a conversation about philosophy.
She shared an Instagram post earlier this year to celebrate her and Belichick’s “meetiversary.”
While CBS kept the interruption by Hudson in its broadcast, according to a report by Pro Football Talk it wasn’t the only time she made her presence felt.
“While we don’t know the total number of interruptions, it’s our understanding that CBS decided to include that one specific instance because it wasn’t a one-time thing,” PFT reported.
Dokoupil also said during the feature that aired that “Jordon was a constant presence during our interview.”

The interview with the former longtime New England Patriots coach had been set up to talk about his move to become the head coach at the University of North Carolina and his book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football, which will be released on May 6.
In the acknowledgements of the book, Belichick describes Hudson as his “creative muse.”
Dokoupil also asked the eight-time Super Bowl winner about his new presence on social media, which seemed to puzzle Belichick.
“You joined InstaFace, as you put it,” Dokoupil said, referencing the coach’s old comments about social media. “There’s some great pictures of you and Jordon, where you’re a fisherman and she’s a mermaid.
“It’s charming, it’s a different side of you. What has the reaction been like?”

Belichick, looking and sounding seemingly confused by the query, returns the question. Dokoupil then describes the viral post of Belichick doing a Pilates pose on the beach with Hudson, after which the coach responds.
“Yeah, so I’m on some of those social media platforms, but I honestly don’t follow,” Belichick said.

Earlier this month, eyebrows were raised when emails revealed a surprising new job title that Hudson was using in her email signature.
According to a report by The Athletic, Hudson’s email signature says that she is “chief operating officer of Belichick Productions” with a logo for the supposed company underneath.

Whether or not Belichick Productions is an actual company remains to be seen, though. According to the report, there are no registered business records associated with it.
Because Belichick serves as the University of North Carolina’s football coach, his emails are of public record. And, since the 73-year-old NFL icon has requested that Hudson be copied on all emails sent to him, the same rule also makes her correspondence.
