Eight-year-old Teddy Magic was supposed to be the second act to perform, but after a brief wait from the judges, they were told he wasn’t ready yet.

In the meantime, a number of other acts performed, including dino rock band Heavysaurus and dance group The Blackouts, before Ant and Dec came on stage to tell the audience that the magician would not be performing tonight (Saturday, April 26).

Fans of the show were left confused with one person writing: “Where’s the kid magician, isn’t he going to perform?”

Another added: “Is teddy not coming on?”

A third penning: “Why did Teddy not go on? Explain more.”

A fourth shared some sympathy with the performer, writing: “Hugs for Teddy, hope to see him at the next live show.”

Ant and Dec speak out on the major format change for Britain’s Got Talent

This comes after long-time presenting duo Ant and Dec shared their thoughts on a recent change made to the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals.

Instead of the semi-finals being aired nightly over the course of just a week, each round will be aired every Saturday.

Discussing the changes, Britain’s Got Talent presenter Dec said: “I really think the live shows will be more spectacular than ever this year.”

According to The Sun, the ITV star added: “As they’re now going out weekly, it will have a really positive impact for the acts because they’ll be able to work on their performances.”

Ahead of tonight’s show, the pair were also asked who their favourite picks were to win the £250,000 cash prize and a slot on the Royal Variety Show.

Dec said: “We had this conversation in Blackpool [during the auditions] and both of us agreed that it’s so hard to call this year.
