Cin Cin, in Church Bank Street in Darwen, closed in August as the previous owner had other commitments, and was taken over by Richard Mates and Paige Lloyd alongside Richard’s siblings Mark and Becky.
The family, who own Egerton-based R.M Security, had a great relationship with the previous owners and decided to purchase the venue in January.
Since then, it has undergone major refurbishments, with a new bar, sound system and a renovation to the toilets.

“It has been spruced up a little bit, to say the least.
“We opened to the public two weeks ago and it has been nothing but busy since we opened the doors.”

One recipe that the bar was inspired by was the Manchester Tart Punch, with the staff now making a Cin Cin Martini based on the recipe.
The Cin Cin Martini (Image: Cin Cin) Paige, who is from Bolton, is also planning on putting on several events and they have booked a singer for Mother’s Day.

She added: “We are looking forward to Darwen Live. We have some big plans, and we are going to get the outside done up and get a big floral ball that says Cin Cin on it.
“We had a few people in, having a casual cocktail and people said we have got the happiest staff in Darwen and that they are full of smiles.
“The team is really passionate about the cocktail side of it.”
Having worked in the night-time economy for several years, through their security business, the pair thought the new venture was the best opportunity to get into the industry.
Paige said: “We were speaking before the new year, we were looking at running a bar.
“We have always been in the security, we have doors in Bolton and Warrington and one day we might own our own bar, and the offer was so good that we just had to do it.”
