Bolton Wanderers in the Community held its third annual Iftar this week.
Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC) hosted the event to mark the spirit of Ramadan, the holy month for Muslims, and the positive impact of bringing communities together.
The gathering was attended by joint interim club CEOs Phil Mason and Niaz Shazad, Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Andy Morgan and Imam Imran Hussein.
Guests were invited to take part in Iftar, the daily fast-breaking meal which Muslims eat in the evening during Ramadan.
Pupils from St Michael’s Church of England Primary School in Bolton gave a musical performance before Iman Hussein led the group in prayer.
Imam Hussein recited from the Quran and there were speeches from Phil and Niaz.

After breaking the fast, guests were invited to observe the maghrib prayer before being served a buffet prepared by Mylahore.
They were treated to a feast including meat, chicken or vegetarian curry, samosas, seekh kebabs, naan and pilau rice.
Jam coconut cake with custard and chocolate cake were also served for dessert.
It was run in the stadium’s Lion of Vienna Suite as part of the charity’s Premier League Fans Fund programme in partnership with BSCA and Mylahore.
The event was supported by local charities, bringing together supporters of the club and the Bolton community.
