The Millstone pub, on Crown Street in the town centre, will be looking for a new landlord for the first time in decades due to rising costs and forthcoming tax changes in April.
Alexandria Sutton, 27, grew up in the pub where her dad has been behind the bar for the last 18 years, and he is retiring.
She said: “I’d like to say goodbye in a big way because people know us from here and only know us from here.
“I’ve worked here for 10 years and lived here for 18, it’s like a family in here.”
Mick Hart, 60, has been a regular at the pub for over 20 years.
Although he lives in Bromley Cross, Mick still travels to the town centre for the “local pub” feel of the Millstone.
He said: “I’ve always loved coming in here and it’ll be shame when it goes, if it goes.
“I’ve been coming in for over 20 years on and off but generally, I’ve always been in here and it’s always been a good pub, and a good pint.
“It’s just the people that come into the pub, they make it feel like a local pub rather than a chain pub, and everybody knows everybody.”
Bill, 76, has also been coming into the pub on and off for about 20 years and said he’s “very sad” to the see the landlords go.

He lives in Farnworth but, like Mick, has also made the Millstone his “local”.
He said: “It’s very sad because it’s always been a nice, quiet pub, my sort of place and I’ll be really sad to see them go.
“I’ll probably still come in, if it stays the same kind of place, I don’t like a lot of noise…
“Except when I get noisy, that’s ok!
“[Alexandria] looks after us, all the staff look after us, that’s the main thing.”

Alexandria said: “We’ve got no choice but to go, I’d absolutely love to stay because these lot here are all my family.
“It’s absolutely heart breaking, I’ve got all my storage stuff down there and even walking past it just sets me off.”
The last day for the Millstone under Alexandria and her dad will be April 1 before they leave the following day.
