Peel Regional police have charged a Mississauga man and woman with numerous firearms-related offences.

Cops say on Jan. 5 a search warrant was executed at a short-term rental property in Mississauga and police allegedly seized a Glock 17 handgun and a large quantity of currency, while arresting two occupants.

Zachary McCullough, 18, has been charged with failure to comply with an undertaking and three firearms-related charges.

Sofia Arruda, 23, has been charged with three firearms-related charges.

FIREARMS STOLEN

York Regional Police are seeking public assistance in identifying suspects after three firearms were stolen during a break and enter in Markham.

Cops say on Monday a homeowner returned to his residence on Plum Tree Circle, in the area of 16th Avenue and Warden Avenue, around 11 p.m. to find his home had been broken into.

Police say they allegedly discovered a safe containing three firearms had been pried open and the guns stolen and a quantity of Canadian currency taken.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity in the area between 8-9 p.m. to come forward and have released a photo of the suspect vehicle, which is described as a black 2018-2020 Hyundai Tucson.

FATAL COLLISION

Toronto Police are looking for dashcam or surveillance footage following a fatal collision on Wednesday night around 7 p.m. in the Kipling Avenue and Genthorn Avenue area.

It’s reported a 60-year-old male was operating a red Nissan Versa westbound on Genthorn Avenue and a 34-year-old male was operating a white Jeep Wrangler northbound on Kipling Avenue when they collided in the intersection.

Cops say the driver of the red Nissan was taken to hospital by an emergency run, where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
