‘We know what we want to do’ – Crystal Palace boss Glasner ready for FA Cup semi-final clash against Villa – South London News

» ‘Do something special’ – Oliver Glasner says Crystal Palace squad have magic to unlock Aston Villa in FA Cup semi-final – South London News

Oliver Glasner believes his Crystal Palace squad have enough magic in the squad to book their place in the FA Cup final tomorrow when they take on Aston Villa in their last-four clash at Wembley.

The Eagles had shipped 10 goals in their previous two away games in the Premier League before drawing 2-2 at Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Glasner’s side have knocked out Stockport, Doncaster, Millwall and Fulham to reach the semi-finals of this year’s competition.

Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta both scored against Arsenal on Wednesday.

“If we need magic, we have players who can do magic,” said Glasner.

“In every single game, also in the Premier League, it is decided by fine margins. Set plays, in the Arsenal game, both teams scored a goal from them.

“Villa is number three in the league for goals from set pieces, so this will be important to defend all those and try to score goals. It is about how we control that and being efficient.

“If you have many chances and don’t take them it makes it more difficult. I remember the quarter final, Fulham missed their first two chances and we were 1-0 up without any chances, just from a magic dribbling and finish from Eze.

“This brought us back into the game and it helped us to increase our belief and win the game. All the games are a bit different but yes we need, if we need it, i am pretty sure we have players who can do something special.”
