During Saturday’s cold open, Myers sported a cheesehead when he showed up to ridicule Musk’s failed campaign for a state Supreme Court candidate in Wisconsin.
“That was from when I tried to buy the election in Wisconsin,” Myers said, referencing Musk’s stumping for Republican judge Brad Schimel who lost to Democrat Susan Crawford. “I’m an idiot — I should have just bought Wisconsin.”
Myers also made light of recent attacks against the billionaire businessman’s Tesla car dealerships.
“Recently, our dealerships have been the targets of many attacks,” Myers said in the sketch. “Suddenly, no one likes Tesla cars. I asked myself why, then I answered myself. Because of me!”
Myers then joked that the company was going to create a new vehicle, the Tesla Model V. “The first electric car in history to be fully self-vandalizing! With features like self-smashing headlights, self-slashing tires and AI-powered graffiti,” he quipped in character. “You can choose from penises or swastikas, or my favorite: swastikas made out of penises!”

James Austin Johnson, who plays Donald Trump on the comedy program, also scoffed at the president after the market meltdown that followed his announcement of worldwide tariffs.
“They’re the backbone of my incredible plan for our economy. It’s actually better than a plan because it’s a series of random numbers, like the numbers on computer screens in Severance. You have no idea what the hell they mean, but I know what the numbers mean. OK?” Johnson said. “They mean we’re going to make America wealthy again, okay? MAWA. Before that, we’re going to do MAGDA: Make America Great Depression Again. It will be better than great. A fantastic, unbelievable depression.”
Later in the night, Myers showed up during the closing monologue alongside host Jack Black and musical guests Elton John and Brandi Carlile wearing a Canadian Tire T-shirt and continuing his “elbows up” rallying cry from last month.

Myers’ choice of attire set off a debate about Canadian Tire on social media, where it was the second-most trending item on X Tuesday morning.
Some commenters used his appearance to remind followers that Myers hasn’t lived in Canada in more than 30 years, while others hit out at the retailer for stocking many “made in China” goods.
“When was the last time Myers shopped at Canadian Tire?” one person asked, with another chiding him for not realizing “it’s a store full of Chinese goods.”
“It actually kinda fits metaphorically because most of Canadian Tire’s merchandise is Chinese s*** masquerading as Canadian, just like (Prime Minister Mark) Carney,” another person swiped, referencing a recent report that China boosted Carney’s election campaign on the Chinese social media platform WeChat.

After one X user called Myers’ taunts “a new low in comedy,” Musk entered the fray to blast the late-night show, writing, “SNL hasn’t been funny in a long time. They are their own parody.”
Last month, Musk issued a terse five-word review when Myers debuted his parody of Time magazine’s 2021 Person of the Year during a spoof of a meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Later, the Toronto-born Myers returned at the end of the episode sporting a black “Canada is not for sale” T-shirt that featured the Canadian flag. As the credits rolled, Myers mouthed “elbows up” to the camera, referencing a common hockey term used to signal it’s time to fight back.
The bit was one of the night’s most talked about online, with many praising Myers for standing up for Canadians. But Musk seemingly lashed out at the sendup in a post to X, writing, “Humour fails when it lies.”
His blunt assessment followed another review Musk gave last fall when he was lampooned by SNL alum Dana Carvey following Trump’s re-election.
As the SNL cast sarcastically showered praise on Johnson’s Trump — joking that they were hoping to remain on his good side — Carvey popped up wearing a dark MAGA hat and Musk’s all-black wardrobe.
“Check it out: dark MAGA. Yeah! But seriously, I run the country now,” Carvey said in a faux South African accent. “America’s going to be like one of my rockets. They’re super cool and super fun, but there’s a slight chance it could blow up and everybody dies. Haha!”

Carvey threw his hands in the air and ended his appearance by exclaiming, “See you in the White House!”
Responding to a follower who shared a clip of the segment and asked, “Is this funny to anyone?” Musk said, “SNL has been dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality.”
In another social media post, Musk slammed Carvey’s impersonation, writing, “Dana Carvey just sounds like Dana Carvey.” He also made fun of the opening, saying the cast members “are so mad that” Trump won the election. And when another user claimed more people watched the SNL sketch on X than on TV, Musk agreed with a laughing emoji.
