Delighted supporters of the pop icons took to social media after Mel C hinted that a “world tour” could be on the cards.

Chatting on The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma on Australia’s 2Day FM, Melanie explained she, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Victoria Beckham, Emma and Mel B were keen to do “something special” to commemorate 30 years of their iconic debut single.

She said: “It’s 30 years next year since the release of Wannabe. We have to do something special.

“Obviously I can’t say too much but we are talking about things. Hopefully a nice little world tour!”

Over on X (formerly known as Twitter) and Instagram, girl power fans were quick to share their thoughts.

One user said: “This is going to be the concerts of all concerts.”

Another added: “I hope, if true, it’s a real world tour. Not only UK dates like in 2019…we need SPICE in our lives around the world!”

“I need this in my life! Keeping everything crossed,” one Instagram user said.

While another commented about last year’s brief viral reunion at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party, saying: “Folks, we have a new Spice Girls video. Now we just need a world tour!”

The Spice Girls’ last official performance together took place at the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony.

In 2019, Geri, Emma, Mel C and Mel B toured the UK and Ireland, but Victoria did not join.
