Crews turned out to a terraced house on Vickerman Street, Halliwell, at 12.20am today, April 1.
Firefighters stopped the blaze from spreading and were on scene for an hour.
Watch manager Glynn McGann of Bolton North said: “At 12.20am, firefighters from Bolton North were called to a property on Vickerman Street in Bolton to reports of a fire on a cooker.

“Crews forced their way into the property, which was unoccupied, and the fire was extinguished.
“We were there for an hour. A small amount of fire damage was done to the area around the kitchen, but firefighters stopped the fire from spreading.
“There was also smoke damage to the property as the doors and windows were left open.”
Firefighters also offered residents home safety checks.
