The actress and presenter will be participating in the event to raise funds for Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary in Edenfield.
She will be accompanied by her partner, Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez.
The couple will be among the many celebrities taking part in the run, including boxer and reality star Tommy Fury, who will be running the half marathon distance with his brother Roman.
Great Manchester Run will also see participation from Coronation Street stars Harriet Bibby, Elle Mulvaney, and newcomer Jason Callender, as well as Emmerdale actors Isabel Hodgins and Danny Miller.
This year’s Great Manchester Run is set to be ‘the biggest in a decade’, with more than 35,000 participants competing in the 10k and half marathon distances.
The event will also feature over 1,500 young runners taking on the Junior & Mini event on Saturday, October 17, in Sportcity.
Junior & Mini runs will be started by stars of the TV show Gladiators.
Among the many inspiring stories of those taking part is Emelone Ijeoma, known as Flo, who is on a mission to encourage her colleagues and the wider community to experience the joy of taking part in the NHS Blue Wave this year.
After a diabetes diagnosis, she took up jogging and walking, and soon joined the run herself.
She said: “Let’s come out, have fun, and do our bit.”
James Paton, 27, who has suffered from alopecia since the age of 11, has renamed his participation this year as the ‘Great Bald Run’ to raise awareness and funds for the Little Princess Trust.
He will be joined by over 50 people running together wearing bald caps.
He said: “It’s a bold statement that beauty isn’t defined by hair.
“We aim to show the world that being bald is beautiful.”
More than 100,000 spectators are expected to line the streets to support the runners, and millions more will watch the action live on the BBC from 11am to 1pm.
Places for the 10k, half marathon, and Junior & Mini kids events are expected to sell out in advance once again.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to act fast to secure their spot on the start line.
