For the acclaimed Westhoughton artist will be one of the celeb bakers appearing on the Celebrity Great British Bake Off this Sunday.

She is one of two famous faces from Bolton appearing in this series – with Sophie Willan being the other, who will appear in a later episode.

This week love is in the air when the famous tent opens up for the new set of celeb bakers.

Judges Paul Hollywood and Caroline Waldegrave’s final, Showstopper challenge for Roman Kemp, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Sarah Beeny and Maxine  involves recreating their most memorable romantic moment – using only biscuits.

Before that, they face a tricky Signature that sees them making cupcakes and a Technical that may leave them in a bit of a flap. As ever, hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond are on hand to offer encouragement.

BAFTA nominated actor Maxine known for her powerful roles in Three Girls, Black Mirror, and Silk, will be sharing how libraries have shaped her life and work.

Maxine Peake will showcase her skills in the Bake Off tent. (Image: Paul Husband) The first episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off aired on Sunday, March 16 and saw married couple Chris and Rosie Ramsey go up against each other, alongside a siblings Stuart and Scarlette Douglas.

Maxine is set to appear on the episode airing Sunday March 23, whilst Sophie’s episode is set to air on March 30.

Stand Up To Cancer is a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4.

The Great Celebrity Bake For Stand Up To Cancer returns to Channel 4 on Sunday at 7.40pm and on catch-up at Channel4.com.
