Property experts have revealed that by following these five handy tips you could bag yourself a quick sale on your property.
Clean and declutter (including your windows!)
“Remember, when you market, prospective buyers will be opening every cupboard and looking in every corner, so this is a good opportunity to help keep up the overall presentation of your home,” a spokesperson from Thomas Legal has said.
The pros recommend giving the windows a good clean inside and out as buyers will want to see how much light a property will get and check out the view – first impressions are hugely important.
Apply a fresh coat of paint
Sticking to neutral colours can reinvigorate a room and make it feel lighter, fresher and more appealing.
If the front and garage doors look tired, give them a fresh coat of paint. These will be among the first things a potential buyer will see.
Spruce up the garden
Use your spring clean as a chance to give your garden a little more love than just mowing the lawn.
“Think new planter beds or giving the driveway a power wash,” Thomas Legal adds.
“Try placing a table and chairs on the patio, set for a summer BBQ – demonstrate what your garden has to offer.”
What’s happening in the housing market?
The average price of a home coming to market rises by £3,876 this month to £371,870.

Make your home smell nice
Experts say to light scented candles or even the smell of freshly baked bread could be irresistible.
Fix it!
Broken door handles, leaky taps, or even just a light in the attic which needs a new bulb.
“Many buyers want to move in without having to make any changes or undertake any DIY and doing these jobs will make your property more desirable and show prospective buyers that your property has been well cared for,” they add.
Colm Lalor, commercial director at bathroom specialists nuie, agreed that spring cleaning is a “simple yet effective way” to make your home more appealing to buyers.

He said: “A clean, well-maintained house creates a strong first impression and allows buyers to envision themselves living in the space without any distractions.
“Understandably, the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in a home, and small improvements can make a great impact. Instead of a full renovation, consider fixing any broken tiles, deep cleaning surfaces, and updating minor accents like cabinet handles or taps.
“By taking the time to deep clean and make small updates, you can enhance your home’s value and attract more potential buyers when it comes to selling your home.”
