PARLICK
Parlick, the iconic cone-shaped fell nestled in the Forest of Bowland, is perfectly placed to catch the sunrise. A little bit of effort is required to get up this fell, but it’s well worth it.
Park at the foot of the fell, pass the farmhouse on the right and head straight up the well-beaten path.
The beauty with this hike is there are panoramic views over the stunning Lancashire countryside from the first few steps, so you can peer over your shoulder for a treat on the way up.
Pack a flask and enjoy your well-deserved morning coffee while watching the sun peak out above Longridge Fell.

PENDLE HILL
Pendle Hill is well known as one of the most popular spots in Lancashire for hiking, but the views are even more picturesque if you time it to arrive at the summit as the sun rises.
There are many routes up this hill, but the quickest is via the well-known steps to the side – park in the lay-by and this route takes around 30 minutes to get to the top.
Once at the summit, if you take a sharp left, nature has kindly carved out a seat in the rocks for you to sit back and enjoy the sunrise.

LONGRIDGE FELL
Versatile is not usually a word associated with fells, but that is exactly what Longridge Fell is. It’s fantastic all year round, providing a different experience in every season and with every visit, you can discover a new path or a different view.
It’s particularly special at sunrise: head up from the Old Clitheroe Road side to wander through the forest section as it floods with incredible light or opt for the Jeffrey Hill route, to head the trig point and see the Ribble Valley light up with the morning hues. It’s magical.
