Mrs Crompton, who lived on Stanley Street, Ramsbottom, with her husband Alan and their three children, was known for her ‘unwavering support’ for her family and community.

She was described as ‘the heart of the neighbourhood,’ always ready with a warm welcome for newcomers and a friendly chat for all.

Her dedication to Ramsbottom was shown in her efforts to improve local amenities for children and her organisation of fundraisers.

A family spokesperson said: “Carole was an advocate for her community, passionate about making Ramsbottom a better place for future generations.

“When Carole set her mind to something, it was as good as done.”

Mrs Crompton’s kindness extended beyond her immediate circle, as she was always willing to offer her time and energy to anyone in need.

Her role as manager of the local Age UK charity shop allowed her to continue giving back to the community, and her creative window displays were a ‘beloved feature’ of Ramsbottom

Mrs Crompton’s zest for life was ‘infectious’, whether she was attending a rock concert or sharing a laugh with friends.

Her resilience in the face of life’s challenges was a ‘defining characteristic’, as never allowed hardships to hold her back.

A sister to Gillian, Barry, and Gina, and a grandmother to Evie and Sophia, Mrs Crompton’s love and support were ‘unwavering’.

The family spokesperson said: “Carole Crompton will be missed dearly by all who knew her, but her legacy will forever remain in our hearts, and in the heart of Ramsbottom itself.”

Mrs Crompton was due to celebrate her birthday today, March 23, and she will be forever celebrated for her selflessness and dedication to others.
