A man and woman face gun charges that stem from a vehicle fleeing a traffic stop in Mississauga last month.

Peel Regional Police say STEP (Strategic Tactical Enforcement Policing) team officers were conducting a “proactive patrol” in the area of Derry Rd. E. and Torbram Rd. on Feb. 22 when they attempted to stop a vehicle and the driver took off.
Following a “thorough investigation,” a man and a woman from Pickering were arrested on Monday.
“During the investigation, officers located and seized a loaded Springfield XD (.45 calibre) handgun and brass knuckles,” police said in a statement.

Maurice Glasgow-Oliver, 34, is charged with one count each of unauthorized possession of a firearm; knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm; possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm; unauthorized possession of a prohibited device; possession of a weapon; and flight from police; and two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.
He is also charged with two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a court order.

Rosa Santillan, 32, is charged with one count each of unauthorized possession of a firearm; knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm; careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition; unauthorized possession of a prohibited device; and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.

Cops confirmed Glasgow-Oliver has previously been accused of a knifepoint robbery at a Mississauga motel on March 12, 2018.
He was wanted on an outstanding warrant when Toronto cops arrested him at 27 years old on May 14, 2019, and transferred him into the custody of Peel Regional Police.
The outcome of the robbery allegations is unknown.
