Are the Sex Pistols the Sex Pistols without frontman Johnny Rotten?

Toronto is about to find out when the group plays History on Oct. 1 as part of a 2025 North American tour.
It marks the first time since 2003 that the group has gone out on tour on this side of the pond, but back then with Rotten, aka Lydon.
This time, guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock have hooked up with singer Frank Carter, of punk band Gallows, to perform the band’s 1977 landmark album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols, in its entirety plus more.
Tickets are on sale April 4, at 10 a.m. local time at livenation.com.
Artist presale and other presale opportunities will be held from April 1-3.
The only other Canadian date is Sept. 30 at Mtelus in Montreal.
Jones previously said the falling out with Rotten happened following a bitter legal dispute over the use of the band’s music in the 2022 Danny Boyle-directed drama Pistol – a TV series chronicling the rise of the band – which Rotten legally contested but lost.

The band just released their fifth album, Rushmere, on Friday and the only other Canadian date is Oct. 17 at Montréal’s Bell Centre.
